As the year comes to a close I just wanted to update my review and show the progress I've made in the last couple years with physique gym and it's amazing coaches! Not only have they coached me in the gym to make me stronger and build a physique I've always dreamed of having they have also rehabbed a knee surgery, strained adductor muscles and a little hip arthritis. On top of that they have taught me about food and how to eat which is my biggest struggle because I look at something and I gain 5 lbs! The list goes on at how much this place has done for me and how it's changed me and shaped me!!! I have been attending the group work out sessions at Physiques Gym for 6 months. Working out 2 to 3 days a week under the guidance of Craig and Cara I have seen a significant change in the physical appearance of my body. Peolpe around me see the change and ask what I am doing because they desire to trasfrom their body like they see my body taking shape. I can't say enough good things about Physiques Gym as you will be able to tell!!! Physiques Gym is more than a gym we are a family! When I came to Physiques I thought I was coming just to exercise, lose some weight, gain some muscle and maybe eat healthier. I have gotten sooo much more than that here! It's been an entire lifestyle and mindset change for me. I have been at Physique's for 4 months and have already done what I wanted to do plus gained so much more in the process. I would have never thought I would've wanted to come to a gym and gain anything but muscle! Here I have gained self confidence, I'm setting boundaries, I feel so much more relaxed and beautiful, I'm mentally much stronger and many areas of my life have changed. I've learned a lot about myself and how strong I actually am and that is the part that you don't expect or even pay for! Craig and the other trainers are always there to support you! They walk the walk and talk the talk! Look at them! Craig believes in you when you may not even believe in yourself! Craig tells you what you need to hear no matter what! Craig is very perceptive as to whether you need to be pushed harder and also if you have something else going on or an injury and need to take a break for a day or two. Sometimes I think he has 10 sets of eyes because he can see everything that needs to be corrected and always makes sure you are doing the exercises properly to prevent injury. Chest up, shoulders back, neck straight, breathe, bend your knees, bend your back leg, open your eyes and arch your back are all words I have not heard from other trainers that I will never forget now! Craig is a coach, teacher, mentor, friend and sooo much more! Another surprise aspect is the friendships I've gained! Everyone is so supportive in group training and your fellow group members will hold you accountable and support you as well. Working in group training has been so rewarding because when you see others pushing themselves it makes you want to push even more! If a group setting is not what you want you can do one on one sessions too. In closing, I am telling you you get so much more then the best trainers you have ever worked with! You get personal coaching and you gain in so many other areas of your life. That aspect was a surprise and an awesome bonus and blessing for me! You will get pushed to new levels and learn to push yourself to new levels and get results faster and greater than what you ever have anywhere else! I am a Arizona Native and have been to at least 20 gyms in the greater Phoenix area over the last 47 years and Physiques Gym is the best gym in town hands down!!! I cannot say enough about how much this gym and Craig have changed my life. I starting working out at this gym with Craig and his trainers about 8 months ago. In those 8 months, I have been pushed harder and further than I thought was possible. The results in the end? I have dropped more than 25 pounds and I'm down to about 17% body fat. I have still have work do to but these are results I never thought I could achieve! Don't be intimidated by the 'body builders', this gym is for anyone who is committed to good health and exercise. When I made it to the "gym", my workout routine of reading US magazine on the elliptical and doing a few tired weight-training routines from that "one time when I was fit", wasn't feeling terribly effective. Craig and Cara are great personal trainers/coaches in large part because they are excellent teachers. Their personal training sessions have taught my husband and I both how to create a varied and effective workout with proper form and muscle engagement. Craig and Cara consistently explain why we're doing what we're doing. They are as real with you as you can get, no fluff! I started going to Physiques about a year ago, and I cannot recommend this gym enough! The owner Craig Tinnelle and his team of trainers really know how to help people become successful in their fitness goals. It all starts with a consultation with one of the trainers to find out where you are at, and where you want to be. You then have the option to work out with a trainer independently, or be a part of the group training sessions- I chose the group training sessions and found these to be a fun and productive challenge. The workouts are unique each session, so you don't get bored with doing the same thing over and over. This also helps you target different muscle groups for an overall better exercise regime. During these sessions, Craig and his trainers instill confidence and motivation for your growth and development. The support from others in your group is significant, creating a great sense of camaraderie. A theme I have noticed is it is not how big/fast/strong you are in comparison with others in the gym, it's about how far you have come on your OWN journey. For myself, I have seen significant gains in both overall strength and health; I have more energy and feel better. As with anything, the more you put into it, the more you get out of it.
