    Sauna

I've been a loyal member for years, and it's honestly disappointing to see the condition this gym has fallen into. The locker rooms and sauna are consistently dirty, outdated, and poorly maintained. The sauna especially feels neglected grime buildup, bad smell, and clearly not cleaned nearly enough. What really pushed me to leave this review was getting an email saying my membership rate is increasing with barely a month's notice. When I questioned why loyal members are paying more while the facility conditions continue getting worse, I got no real explanation or effort to keep my rate the same. If rates are going up, the cleanliness and upkeep should at least reflect it. Right now, it feels like members are paying more for less.

We have trialed a couple of different gyms in the valley and we still love the lifetime gym and all that it has with the amenities.

This gym scammed my 16 year old daughter into signing up for a month and then proceeded to charge me for two months. Don't use this gym.

I was pleasantly surprised when Bailee streamlined the process without any pressure. She also offered me free trials of membership benefits like the red light therapy and the brand new cold plunge! Bailee was so friendly and helpful in assisting me in deciding on how to proceed with my membership choices in a non committal way like I wanted. A gentleman named Jake gave us a tour and was very respectful of the limited amount of time I had to spend on the tour. He also explained all about the included classes and ammeneties available at each location! A great part about Mountainside fitness is that they allow 12-year-olds to join so that means my daughter can come with me! I could not find another gym in the area that allows children under 13 to attend so I was really pleased at this privilege. I also liked that all the memberships allow you to go to any location.! I'm really grateful that Bailee was there to help, being that she was so knowledgeable on the membership options and perks! P.s. I love the cold plunge!

Staff are either understaffed or under-qualified if there are frequent "incidents" but no one actually SAW what happened. If there's a bball court- a game area- an infants area- a tv room- a main room- AND a bounce house room- there should be enough people staffed to cover EACH area ESPECIALLY during busier times. I've lost my trust in this gym's staff.

The saying, "insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results"…read morepretty much sums up my old workout and eating routine; doing the same thing for years and expecting change. My husband had similar frustrations with working out. Luckily, he found Underground and we both enrolled and I'm so happy we did. I cannot say enough positive things. Our trainer (Danny) and coach (Shane) are both awesome. Danny has been fantastic with how positive and patient he is, especially with someone like me who's never even picked up weights in a gym before. He keeps workouts interesting and challenging. Shane helps provide accountability outside of the gym especially with eating; turns out I wasn't eating enough! Both are extremely knowledgeable and happy to pass along their knowledge. As for the gym itself. We signed up for semi-private sessions, but you get a lot of 1-on-1 time and it never really feels crowded. You never have to fight over equipment and everything is constantly wiped down. Also, scheduling sessions is easy and flexible. Honesty, my husband and I really look forward to going to the gym, it's actually fun, like really fun...not a chore. We've both changed physically, but also mentally. This journey has been so positive for both of us. I would highly recommend this gym. If I had the means, (and lol their willingness) I would sign up my family/friends!

The Desert Ridge location is closest to me, but I was in the mood for some variety so I checked out the Frank Lloyd Wright location on a Wednesday around 5:30 p.m. And boy was I happy I did! Compared to the location I typically go to, this on is roughly double the size. Which is very much a good thing for a gym. It means more room in between machines, less human traffic jams, and better amenities. There's a full-size basketball court, while my location only has a half court. The basketball court doubles as a pickle ball court...though that's not a plus for me. I'm one of the leading pickle ball haters in the country. And here's the kicker: they have an infrared sauna. I personally have never seen this at a gym. It's cooler than a dry sauna, so this was a pleasant surprise. If you have an upgraded membership, they also have two cold plunge baths. My only criticism? The water pressure at one of the water fountains is so low that not enough water comes out so you're worried your mouth will actually touch the metal as you're trying to drink. And if someone is filling up their water bottle at the water fountain next to it, no water will com out of yours. You would think this is something they could fix. Like the other Mountainside Fitness locations I have been to, this gym is clean (locker room, showers, and bathroom included), well-equipped, offers complimentary towels, mouthwash, and body lotion, has a cafe with smoothies and snacks, and more. They have a huge parking lot, so I didn't have trouble finding a spot (albeit not close). It's easier to park here than some of their other locations where the lot is smaller. For the money you pay for a membership, Mountainside Fitness is hands down the best gym I have ever been to. Their presence on Yelp proves it. Rarely does a gym have a rating of 4.0 or above. Mountainside Fitness has that.
