From there she decided that she wanted to try out for company. She's been part of company for the past 3 years. The teachers and owners are amazingly talented people who put love into everything they do. If you are looking for a "Dance Mom" school where people are yelling or putting the kids down then you'll need to go someplace else. If you want a fun loving environment where the parents get along and help each other out and the kids are friends and get along, then CoD is the dance school for your family!

She was shy and did not like change so we would sit out of class and watch until she was comfortable. She quickly adapted and became a vital part of the CofD company in her high school years and has gained genuine friendships with the other dancers; and I have enjoyed being part of the kind-and-down-to-earth dance moms. Teachers like Marco, Kelsey, Hillary, Sharon etc have challenged and guided my daughter into a beautiful dancer and person. Tasteful costumes and trendy styles and music were a plus. We CofD!

Is dance dad a thing? 'cause if it is, it's not really something I go around advertising to people,…read morebut I guess you guys can keep my secret, right? Shhhh... As a freshly sprung adult all those years ago, I used to think, I wish there was a class for people called "don't look like an idiot on the dance floor". While I never did find and admittedly, I didn't really search for either, a class aimed at young adults who don't want to look like an idiot on the dance floor, I somehow fumbled my way through my 20s, had a child in my 30s who is now a budding primary schooler. I thought to myself, what are all the really important things in life that a man should know how to do and somehow "don't look like an idiot on the dance floor" came to mind -- so here I am. A middle aged man sitting in the waiting area of a dance studio while my grade schooler learns how to dance. Sure, he looks cool doing it, he's learning coordination, he's part of a team of kids doing something together, he's getting his energy out in a productive way, he's cart wheeling, front rolling, hand standing, back bending, stomping, popping, locking, pointing in a hip-hop-esq way but what is most important here is that when he becomes an adult, he'll be able to roll up to da club and show up all those other posers who only wish that they "didn't look like an idiot on the dance floor". No amount of best value for your money, conveniently located hip-hop, tumbling, tap, or ballet classes can even compare to the satisfaction he will have when he's in his 20s and ruling the roost. To my 21 year old son making bad decisions in life, I dedicate this review to you. Now please just let me get through these multiple days per week watching you fumble around on the dance floor trying to keep up with the kids next to you while you shake your tiny little groove thing!

They've gone the way of everyone else; only the stars matter. Everyone else who has been keeping their lights on for years has been banished to level one purgatory and told they will never do X or Y. Excuse me but becoming a professional ballerina was never the goal for us. We just wanted to get exercise, learn discipline, and have fun, not retire at 25 with a permanently damaged body while living on food stamps. ‍ If you have a child on the spectrum, I highly recommend finding an alternative. This studio is not neuroinclusive; they'll keep your kid down year after year after year until you finally get the hint and show yourself out the door. Spark, sometimes human beings matter more than the number of girls you brag about sending to summer intensives. You can still put on a beautiful production while allowing autistic girls to progress with their peers (not talking about pointe, talking about dignity and inclusivity). You know it's illegal to discriminate against disabilities, right? So disappointed and heartbroken.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I would strongly…read moreadvise against doing business with Dance Deluxe. Our experience has been nothing but unprofessional, unethical, unorganized and frustrating. They have been deceitful about fees, restricting access to our payment records, and refusing to provide a clear breakdown of charges. Despite their claim that we owed costume fees, I reviewed my payment records (before they suspiciously revoked my access to the parent portal) and confirmed that all costume fees had already been paid. When we challenged them on this, instead of addressing our concerns, they shut down communication and made it unnecessarily difficult--seemingly because we decided to discontinue dance. Additionally, they are refusing to refund summer recital costume fees, yet won't provide any information on when we can pick them up. If the recital fees won't be refunded either, they should at least refund the remaining balance on our account. But instead of handling this professionally, they simply refuse to engage. Beyond the financial issues, there is a lot of favoritism at this studio. Certain dancers and families are clearly prioritized, while others are treated unfairly. When concerns are brought up, the staff is always extremely defensive instead of being open to feedback or resolution. Another major issue is their staffing. Instead of hiring experienced instructors, they rely on their older teenage dancers to teach classes. While some of these teens may be talented dancers, they are not trained teachers. I often found that if I wasn't sitting outside the room, the young instructors wouldn't effectively manage the class or keep students engaged. It's completely unprofessional to expect parents to monitor the instructors just to ensure they do their jobs. On top of that, the instructors are rude, unprofessional, and even make fun of students instead of creating a supportive learning environment. Rather than being encouraging, they act dismissively and unkindly toward certain dancers. No child should feel uncomfortable or belittled at a place that is supposed to foster growth and confidence. The facility itself is also disgusting. They never clean or sanitize the dance rooms or dressing rooms, and the whole place smells like urine and feet. For a place where kids are constantly moving, stretching, and sitting on the floors, basic hygiene should be a priority--but clearly, it isn't. A professional business should be willing to justify its charges, provide qualified instructors, and treat all customers with respect--even if they choose to leave. Instead, Dance Deluxe operates in a way that feels dishonest and retaliatory. If you're considering this studio, I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere to avoid the same headaches we've experienced. If anyone would like to reach out to me to discuss this further, feel free to contact me. I'm happy to share my experience in more detail.

Not only have they grown tremendously as dancers, but they've also grown into more confident, kind, and hardworking young people. They create such a positive, welcoming environment for families. They are organized, approachable, and always willing to help, which makes everything run so smoothly. As a parent, it brings so much peace of mind knowing our girls are part of such a supportive and well-run community. My older daughter has had the opportunity to be a demonstrator, and it has been such a special experience for her. She loves having the little girls look up to her, and it has helped her grow in leadership and confidence in such a meaningful way. The studio also provides so many amazing performance opportunities, which has helped both of my girls build confidence and shine on stage. Along the way, they've made lasting friendships and memories we will cherish forever. We are beyond grateful for everything Take Five Dance Academy has poured into our family. We started well before COVID hit and was so happy that they quickly adapted during COVID and kept the classes going for the kiddos (it was virtual of course, but knowing the routine was still there helped to keep my daughter engaged.) Now that things are getting more back to normal, I am even more impressed with the studio and all they have to offer. They offer a variety of classes on weeknights and Saturday. I am so thankful that the classes are all after school and work times. While I know some younger kids could potentially go to class during the day if a parent was free, I greatly appreciate that the norm is not a class in the middle of a work day, this greatly helps with working parents. My daughter has been in 3 levels of combo classes so far and we have loved them. The combo class lets the kiddos do both Tap and Ballet and they normally have 2 recitals a year. As the kids get older they normally gravitate to 1 type of class, which we are hoping to do that in the fall when class schedules come out. The studio also has company dancers who have a lot more practices and competitions. I love that this is an option for the future, but it isn't pushed on the kiddos. All the kiddos that I have seen in the company truly love dancing and are treated like a family. I am not sure my daughter will ever want to do something like that, but I can greatly appreciate the spirit and trust that is given to Lora (owner) and the teachers. If you are interested in a class, give them a call. I know when we started they offered a free trial class to see if your kiddo liked dancing, which is amazing since not all kids like dance classes. We love LA Dance and will continue to have our girls take classes there as long as they want.
