My daughter really likes ballet and hasn't complained so I am torn to write this review but I don't think we will be coming back here. This is our third dance studio experience due to moving. The reasons for my review are this: First- the front desk lady is pretty rude... all the time. I don't think she is happy to be there. I think she manages it. Second- you cannot see or watch your child. You cannot watch them practice. I personally want to have eyes on her and watch her practice and she wants me to watch as well, it's exciting. This may be great for older children and adults to avoid distraction but I don't find it convenient for young kids. Third- mask mandate has been discontinued for some time and they enforce it. They enforce the kids and anyone in the lobby to wear one. Instead of asking nicely, it's more of a snarl "you need a mask to be in here, ugh!" Topped off with a glare and eye roll. Fourth- The lobby is small and I have always had to stand up waiting for her to be finished so I end up just sitting in my car.... not like I can watch her anyway. Fifth- the parking lot is extremely small it's very annoying. You will more than likely park on the main road. Not reason to stop coming here, but it's quite frustrating. Sixth- instead of telling me or teaching me how they want her hair to be done they scolded me in front of the entire lobby about how she needs to re do my daughters hair because the bun I had it in won't hold.... don't let your child come in with one of those donut bun thingies. I spent all that time putting her hair into a perfect freaking bun... how am I supposed to know if you don't tell me? Needless to say she was very annoyed. Maybe this is all routine for ballet but I have found it to be somewhat a toxic atmosphere so why would I want to come back? It isn't inviting at all. All of the teachers have been great with professional demeanor, smiles and always kind. Maybe they want to be super professional and this is why it's like this. I'm sure they'll come back and say "ballerinas need to be prim and proper and without distraction." So if that's what you're looking for then this may be the place for you. Be ready to park on the main road and have no where to sit. I just want to bring my little kiddo to a fun place to start learning technique. None of the other places have been like this. It's weird to see such a lack of friendly customer service. We will find a new ballet studio or a new activity.

If you want a fun loving environment where the parents get along and help each other out and the kids are friends and get along, then CoD is the dance school for your family!

Meri and Kevin Bender are not only attentive business owners, but wonderful people. They treat every student and their family as their family. All the instructors project that care and attention as well. Not only is the Bender team devoted to teaching the arts but focus even more on their students being good citizens. The recent pandemic was a challenge for everyone, yet Meri & Kevin found a way to keep their studio open which was particularly important when the schools were closed to in-person learning. They have also facilitated combined travel and dance opportunities that our daughter has taken advantage of, i.e. dancing at Disneyland, and going to a summer dance camp in Colorado. We highly recommend BPA for anyone who wants to introduce their child to the arts. Yvonne & Mike B., Phoenix

One of those individuals was Sonya Vandervort. The comments were inappropriate, mean spirited, and showed a complete lack of respect and maturity. It is shocking that adults would choose to behave this way at an event centered around children. This kind of toxic behavior creates an uncomfortable atmosphere and reflects very very poorly on the studio community as a whole. Management should take a much stronger stance on addressing it. The other woman there was Kylie, who was also volunteering at the flower booth. She was kind, helpful, professional, and got me my flowers without engaging in any gossip or negativity. I feel very sorry for her and that she had to deal with those immature adults who aren't self aware.

She's tried hip hop, ballet, tap, and a couple of the summer camps and has loved every single one. The studio has a lot of options, the prices are reasonable, and the recital at the end of the year is super organized and fun to watch. We're really happy we found such a great dance studio so close to home. If you're looking for a new studio in Queen Creek, definitely give this one a try - you won't regret it!

When an owner/instructor is hanging out at clubs, bars, going to Disneyland or trips with the same parents of dancers, and ironically those kids get all the opportunities to move up.......i call that a complete conflict of interest. There are some wholesome instructors, but no matter how good they are, if the favoritism continues it is clear the studio will not grow into what it could become. Word will travel about this behavior as the dance community is small in the area. I hope they get their stuff together because the potential is there.

No such thing as zero stars, eh?…read more By the way, they have moved to a new location. If you want to make your kid cry, go ahead and sign them up! This was my daughter's first experience with a true dance class after taking "dance" classes where the kid's more or less just had fun to music. She was so excited to have her pink leotard, her little ballet skirt and a tap and ballet shoes. The first day of class I discovered that some of the girls in the class had already taken the same class several times, one for at least a year...but they weren't progressed to another class, the classes were designated by age, not by level. So, the teacher went through the movements and expected the girls to follow along. She did not stop to help them and showed frustration at then for not immediately following along. Did I mention this is a class for THREE YEAR OLDS and it's the FIRST DAY OF CLASS? Managing your expectations was definitely not part of the training here! I thought about complaining, but then realized the instructor (who did not introduce herself) was actually one of the owners. I decided to take her to a class on a different day, with a different instructor, hoping she would be less intense with such young children just starting out. I was wrong. This class was with the other owner, who opted to make multiple children cry. Keeping in mind that this is a class of three year olds and it was only the second class, the instructor yelled at the girls for fidgeting while they were waiting for the other girls to take their turns. My daughter came running out of the room and said she was told she would not be allowed to dance if she couldn't stand still until it was her turn. Why anyone would think this was the way to treat such a young child is beyond me comprehension. I left two voicemail messages, sent an email, and a letter informing the Dance Project that we would not be continuing classes and to cancel all future enrollments after two classes. They have an "automatic renewal" policy so I wanted to be sure that we were not automatically renewed. No one returned my calls, my emails, or my letter. Four weeks later, I received a call requesting my next payment. Not only did they not return my calls, they either didn't notice, or didn't care that my daughter had not been in the class for four weeks, but they wanted more money. As a teacher, I want to ensure that my children develop a love of learning. It is crucial that early teachers and learning experiences by positive so that children will want to continue to learn. Fortunately, my daughter loves dancing, so she was willing to try another class (at another school of course) and she has been taking classes there for weeks now -- not only does she love it, she is thriving and learning quickly.

If a response from the company is posted here, and I assume one will be, please just remember I don't gain from writing an honest review about my experience. My kid is only 5, we danced with the school for a while and we were unhappy there. We left, no real loss. One thing I will share is that my daughter has very poor vision and wears glasses. I was asked by the director to have her dance without her glasses because it throws off the aesthetic of the performances. She's 5, and it's a safety issue so of course I refused. Plus, my daughter is beautiful and unique with her glasses and quite frankly only added beauty to the stage. I will also state that I was in the room multiple times when free t-shirts were offered for google and Facebook reviews. It's easy to notice a pattern of review spikes during that timeframe. This has been refuted by the school, however I was present during the offer.
