Front Desk staff is always friendly and extremely helpful. Throughout the years, our daughter had Miranda, Beth, Julia, and Dani, and each year was a fantastic experience. I truly appreciated him calling me and hearing what I had to say. I changed my review because I don't believe the front desk women I spoke to on the phone represents Bender performing Arts as a whole, since my other daughters class experiences here have been pleasant and positive. All 3 of my daughters started going a few months ago. The 6 year old classroom where parents sit is dark because the light has to be off to even kinda see your kid. There is a small window in this small room where you can try to look in. It's awful. The teacher is very nice but doesn't give direction. The kids just do whatever and she doesn't correct them or help them. I called to get some help for these issues and I was told I was the only one who feels this way and there was nothing they could do.

Before I quit, though, several conflicts occurred including drama in Nutcracker dress rehearsals. Got body-shamed, was excluded, and I found out that other dancers were body-shamed too. I've talked to former dancers who went here, stayed there for years, and had experienced self-esteem issues due to Mrs. Irina's unnecessary comments. I wish I could have rated this place higher because I came out as a decent ballerina, but the training all of us had to go through felt nearly abusive.

Found the owners belittling young, impressionable girls. Irina, in particular, often body shamed girls. Both owners failed to provide promised private lessons even after these were paid for and no refund provided. Extremely shady and unprofessional business practices frustrated their employees. Contracted instructors have complained that they went unpaid. By all means, if you want, send your young, impressionable girls to a school were they are shamed, abused, and ridiculed by these hot-headed narcissists.

No such thing as zero stars, eh?…read more By the way, they have moved to a new location. If you want to make your kid cry, go ahead and sign them up! This was my daughter's first experience with a true dance class after taking "dance" classes where the kid's more or less just had fun to music. She was so excited to have her pink leotard, her little ballet skirt and a tap and ballet shoes. The first day of class I discovered that some of the girls in the class had already taken the same class several times, one for at least a year...but they weren't progressed to another class, the classes were designated by age, not by level. So, the teacher went through the movements and expected the girls to follow along. She did not stop to help them and showed frustration at then for not immediately following along. Did I mention this is a class for THREE YEAR OLDS and it's the FIRST DAY OF CLASS? Managing your expectations was definitely not part of the training here! I thought about complaining, but then realized the instructor (who did not introduce herself) was actually one of the owners. I decided to take her to a class on a different day, with a different instructor, hoping she would be less intense with such young children just starting out. I was wrong. This class was with the other owner, who opted to make multiple children cry. Keeping in mind that this is a class of three year olds and it was only the second class, the instructor yelled at the girls for fidgeting while they were waiting for the other girls to take their turns. My daughter came running out of the room and said she was told she would not be allowed to dance if she couldn't stand still until it was her turn. Why anyone would think this was the way to treat such a young child is beyond me comprehension. I left two voicemail messages, sent an email, and a letter informing the Dance Project that we would not be continuing classes and to cancel all future enrollments after two classes. They have an "automatic renewal" policy so I wanted to be sure that we were not automatically renewed. No one returned my calls, my emails, or my letter. Four weeks later, I received a call requesting my next payment. Not only did they not return my calls, they either didn't notice, or didn't care that my daughter had not been in the class for four weeks, but they wanted more money. As a teacher, I want to ensure that my children develop a love of learning. It is crucial that early teachers and learning experiences by positive so that children will want to continue to learn. Fortunately, my daughter loves dancing, so she was willing to try another class (at another school of course) and she has been taking classes there for weeks now -- not only does she love it, she is thriving and learning quickly.

My daughter loves it here. The staff is great, very professional. Classes for all skill levels.read more

The organization and communication throughout the entire season were incredible. Every email, schedule update, costume detail, and recital instruction was clear, timely, and professional, which made everything so much less stressful for parents. You can truly tell how much care and effort goes into every little detail. The recital itself was amazing. It was organized, polished, and ran so smoothly. The performances were adorable and so well put together, but what stood out most was how confident, supported, and excited all the kids looked on stage. The staff created such a positive and encouraging environment for the dancers while still maintaining a very high level of professionalism. As parents of a young dancer, we were nervous starting something new, but this studio has made us feel welcomed from day one. The teachers and staff are kind, patient, talented, and clearly passionate about what they do. Our child has grown in confidence already, and we couldn't be happier with our decision to join. Highly recommend this studio to any family looking for a well run, professional, and genuinely caring dance program! 100000% recommend

She's tried hip hop, ballet, tap, and a couple of the summer camps and has loved every single one. The studio has a lot of options, the prices are reasonable, and the recital at the end of the year is super organized and fun to watch. We're really happy we found such a great dance studio so close to home. If you're looking for a new studio in Queen Creek, definitely give this one a try - you won't regret it!

I just can't with these people. The depths of their nastiness, incompetence & straight up dishonesty is really more than anyone can even comprehend, never mind try to endure. And don't forget that all of this began, because despite the teacher not even teaching my daughter's final class because she was out sick, like she was most out most of November, too, I might add, my 8 year old just couldn't cut it. This has swiftly turned into one of the most ridiculous & unpleasant experiences of my life. Don't even ask my child how she feels.... She is a third grader in 4th grade math, but she can't figure out how to sing a song & move her body parts in a directed manner. She's only been in dance & theater since preschool. We only left her last school because they changed her schedule, but this school would just never accept that we had experience, it just didn't fit their falsely perceived perceptions. But of course, none of this had anything to do with my child or her abilities, perceived or otherwise. This was all about someone's overrated ego. So petty & idiotic. The whole thing. Thank god I come from a family of lawyers. I'm not dealing with this dumpster fire anymore & I highly recommend that no one else makes the same mistake that I did. DO NOT enroll your child here.
