This was our first time at the location. I was impressed with the professionalism. I like to describe this place as "gritty" in a good way. The kids, the environment, the teachers...they all have a high level of work ethic and are serious about what they do but have a nice sense of fun balanced in their actions. They aren't afraid to work hard and work together. It was nice seeing the older kids interact and the talent level seems to be awesome! As a freshly sprung adult all those years ago, I used to think, I wish there was a class for people called "don't look like an idiot on the dance floor". While I never did find and admittedly, I didn't really search for either, a class aimed at young adults who don't want to look like an idiot on the dance floor, I somehow fumbled my way through my 20s, had a child in my 30s who is now a budding primary schooler. I thought to myself, what are all the really important things in life that a man should know how to do and somehow "don't look like an idiot on the dance floor" came to mind -- so here I am. A middle aged man sitting in the waiting area of a dance studio while my grade schooler learns how to dance. Sure, he looks cool doing it, he's learning coordination, he's part of a team of kids doing something together, he's getting his energy out in a productive way, he's cart wheeling, front rolling, hand standing, back bending, stomping, popping, locking, pointing in a hip-hop-esq way but what is most important here is that when he becomes an adult, he'll be able to roll up to da club and show up all those other posers who only wish that they "didn't look like an idiot on the dance floor". No amount of best value for your money, conveniently located hip-hop, tumbling, tap, or ballet classes can even compare to the satisfaction he will have when he's in his 20s and ruling the roost. To my 21 year old son making bad decisions in life, I dedicate this review to you. Now please just let me get through these multiple days per week watching you fumble around on the dance floor trying to keep up with the kids next to you while you shake your tiny little groove thing!

I'm writing this with a lot of sadness. When my now 6 year old was 3 we started gymnastics classes…read morehere and we loved it. She found some really good friends and learned a lot, but once she turned 5 it felt like there was a huge shift. My daughter got invited to supersparks, sort of like a pre-team class, and had to leave all her friends, which was hard. Right away the coach was not a fan of my kid, she does have adhd, but she was so harsh. She threatened to kick her out. I would watch this coach give all kinds of faces and yell at her. Still she persisted. Once summer came when she was 6 all the kids were talking about going into hot shots, the next level in competition track. My kid came back almost every day excited to move up with her friends. She would say her coach would tell her she'd have to work hard to get to hot shots. It wasn't until my husband confronted the teacher to ask what was happening for her to tell him that all the other girls were invited into hot shots, except for my daughter, because she's "immature", you know.....unlike any other 6 year old. She gave us the option to stay in supersparks but heavily encouraged her to go to level 2 recreational, the classes she doesn't teach. So like a fool I kept her in supersparks and watched my kid not able to be pushed because all the new kids are a year younger. There's obviously a lot of emotion in this, I just could not believe my daughter was basically left behind after being there for so long. How much money did I put into their pockets just to be pretty much abandoned. I went to a recommended gymnastics place from one of her school friends and had them evaluate her, ready for the recommendation for level 2 recreational. Nope, not even close. She's been invited for a trial on their team. There is a lot of prejudice here, if you are not in with the owner get ready for you and your kid to be lost in the crowd. Heavy heavy cliques with the adults. I just couldn't believe that three years of knowing my kids, coming in multiple times a week, we were just kicked to the curb. We're heartbroken. I do want to say Jodi and Robyn, thank you for loving on my kids. I'm sorry I didn't have it in me to say goodbye the last time. Thank you for encouraging any and all kids who are a little different and show so much potential. Your company has a lot to learn from you.

The mostly Latin music & the Instructors' energy gets you moving. The atmosphere is fun and noncompetitive, with women and men of all shapes, sizes and skill levels. There's a friendly, encouraging, family-like atmosphere, with occasional social and dance nights held on weekends. Recently moved to new location, with an even bigger dance floor!

Staff is usually in class or running between classes, when you do see them they are always smiling and will stop to talk to anyone along the way. They do have high standards for dance but they will help your child and be their biggest cheerleader as they get better and better. My daughter has grown so much as a dancer and I know it's thanks to the level of knowledge and love for dance the teachers pass on to the kids.

We started well before COVID hit and was so happy that they quickly adapted during COVID and kept the classes going for the kiddos (it was virtual of course, but knowing the routine was still there helped to keep my daughter engaged.) Now that things are getting more back to normal, I am even more impressed with the studio and all they have to offer. They offer a variety of classes on weeknights and Saturday. I am so thankful that the classes are all after school and work times. While I know some younger kids could potentially go to class during the day if a parent was free, I greatly appreciate that the norm is not a class in the middle of a work day, this greatly helps with working parents. My daughter has been in 3 levels of combo classes so far and we have loved them. The combo class lets the kiddos do both Tap and Ballet and they normally have 2 recitals a year. As the kids get older they normally gravitate to 1 type of class, which we are hoping to do that in the fall when class schedules come out. The studio also has company dancers who have a lot more practices and competitions. I love that this is an option for the future, but it isn't pushed on the kiddos. All the kiddos that I have seen in the company truly love dancing and are treated like a family. I am not sure my daughter will ever want to do something like that, but I can greatly appreciate the spirit and trust that is given to Lora (owner) and the teachers. If you are interested in a class, give them a call. I know when we started they offered a free trial class to see if your kiddo liked dancing, which is amazing since not all kids like dance classes. We love LA Dance and will continue to have our girls take classes there as long as they want.

They have grown so much in their art and made lasting friendships. I like how the instructors are working dancers and choreographers. They are relevant and know what the industry standard looks for. There are many beginners but also numerous kids who have gone on to be professional dancers and currently take classes while working professionally as actors, models and dancers.
