Decided to give this place a try and ordered some take-out. We almost gave up because the phone was busy for 20 minutes before getting through. This reminded me of fast-food Italian, maybe a half step above Fazoli's. The meatballs must have OD'd in oregano as that's all you could taste. The pasta was sticky and overcooked. As someone who's Mother and Grandmother are 100% Italian, perhaps my expectations for what Italian food is supposed to taste like is pretty high. We were in the mood for Italian and decided to try this new place in Sandy! The service was great, we had an attentive waiter who was very kind. My husband ordered the chicken Parmesan and I ordered the Gnocchi DI Gorgonzola. Sadly both were so bland that even salt and pepper didn't improve it enough to finish either plate. My husband and I sat and waited for 15 minutes before having to flag someone down just to get us water. And with more seemingly endless waiting, our salads finally arrived. However, our excitement was quickly doused at the sight of the mostly yellow and wilted lettuce. Serving your customers the butt end of the lettuce is not a good way to win over hearts, or dollars. Next was the arincini. We cut into what is usually our favorite appetizer only to find a micro square of unmelted cheese and undercooked rice. After being there for an hour at this point, when our meals did finally appear, our moods had already been soured. My lasagna was terrible. It came with a side of over cooked and dry sausage. The layers of the pasta were so dry that I had to tear it apart and add sauce from the top. How is there no sauce in between the layers!?! After taking three bites, in an attempt to satisfy my empty stomach, I gave up. My husband food was no better. We left his on the table, unfinished as well. With our waiter over worked and being less than attentive, my husband and I left our table and stood at the hostess desk just hoping to pay and get out of there. Admittedly, the lady at the front desk was on the phone. However we stood there for five minutes without so much as a nod from her. These are just the highlights from our decidedly last time here. This is the second time we've been. I should have trusted my experience from our first visit and stayed away. I will not make that same mistake a third time. Lots of protein and lots of sauce. Being from big cities, my partner and I always have a hard time finding good food in Utah. Fratelli's surprised us since the ratings weren't great. The staff was awesome and the food was even better. I had the lasagna with house-made sausage which was suuuuper good and had a bit of a kick. My partner had the veal which he also liked. Highly recommend and will definitely be back. read more

We always love our meals at Fratelli. The turkey pesto panini was delicious, as was the honey balsamic chicken salad. The fettuccini alfredo was good too but somewhat lacking in flavor this time. Overall we are always pleased here and come as often as we can. read more

Not a great atmosphere, very bright with a diner or pizza parlor vibe. Food was mediocre, would be a fine place to take your children but not a fancy night out. The bruschetta had largely diced tomatoes and it wasn't assembled on the toast. I felt like this is a pizza joint that also has some other options. We ordered the Fratelli pizza which was fine but could have used more balsamic drizzle and we ordered the Tagliatelle Arrabiata- the sauce was delicious. Carrot cake was great. read more

The food wasn't as good as I hoped it to be. The service was horrible. I wasn't greeted by the host and had to ask to be seated. It's wasn't busy and The sever only came by once to serve us the food and didn't come back until she brought the check! I needed a refill on my water half way through my food. Went to this restaurant about a year ago decided it wasn't worth going to then. But last night we decided to try it again with my father and my sister. They Salus right away which was nice. But then everything fell apart. Waited for 15 minutes or more just for water. Waitress had no clue at all what she was doing. She didn't have any knowledge of what kind of drinks we were ordering. Couldn't even pronounce half of them. We then sat longer, and finally the person from the bar area came up and noticed things were not going right. She brought us water and bread. Asked what our drinks were brought those. After a while my dad's soup came out and my sisters tomato salad came out. Mind you we told the waitress that even though these were appetizers we were having them for dinner. So we wanted them served with my entrée not beforehand. We waited much longer for my mail to come out. The waitress brought this meal to me. Asked if I wanted any Parmesan, and then came back and gave me some. The first bite I took was so awful, tasteless, burned pancetta. So thick it was disgusting. I ended up taking three bites thinking I could choke it down. Of course I was the last one eating because my fathers food and my sisters food came out way before mine. I gave a bite to my sister and she was ready to spit it out. they did take it off our bill thank goodness. I will never return to this restaurant. I am shocked that it gets other good reviews. But all bad reviews are very similar to what I have written as well. Next time I look at the restaurant reviews I will definitely take this into consideration and look for the bad ones first. read more

I've been a big fan of this restaurant for many years and have been excited about their new location and building. It turned out beautiful. The food. It's consistently delicious. If you want great Italian food in a lively environment, then swing in for dinner and drinks. I love their new brick oven pizzas. It possibly the best pizza in the SLC valley. The wine list is also very good and the staff is great at recommending something to compliment your meal. Some of my favorites: Clams & Mussels, Gnocchi Gorgonzola, Fratelli Salad, Chicken Parmesan, Arancini for an appetizer. Pizzas I love: Veronese, Fratelli Pizza and the Margherita. All fantastic. We saw this place a few times when we went to get Chinese next door. My son loves Italian food, and typically makes us go to Old spaghetti factory for his birthday. This year we convinced him to go to fratelli's as it was something new and it had decent reviews. There are six of us that went out as a family. The place is very nice inside. The decor and the ambiance were great. The people there were nice too. We ordered a spaghetti and meatball dish for my son (his all time favorite thing to eat usually...) Two pizzas... A four cheese and a margherita, eggplant parmesan and tomato basil soup. Oh yeah, and we got the sausage and meatball dish. Let's start with a good stuff... The eggplant parmesan wasn't too bad. My wife liked it. I thought it was okay, but I'm not a eggplant fan. I was there for the pizza. My youngest son was there for the pizza. My older boy, like I said was there for the spaghetti. The meatball and sausage appetizer came out. The meatballs were an embarrassment to the restaurant. They were so dry and tasteless. The sausage wasn't bad. It was a little spicy, but I've had much better Italian sausage at other restaurants. Like I said, Old spaghetti factory is one of them. Spaghetti is spaghetti, my son thought it was good. Now, on to everything else... The pizzas came out burnt on the bottoms. Not overcooked, burnt. I felt like one of those kids who was naughty for Christmas, and instead of getting coal in his stocking, got it on a tray with sauce and cheese on it. It was so bad, that we pointed it out to the waiter and he remade them for us. It took a while, and we had to get home to put the kids to bed, but he was cool about it and we brought the new ones home. Those were just as burnt as the first ones. They say, even crappy pizza is better than no pizza, this isn't the case. I can't forget about the soup. It wasn't terrible, but it was just a better version of Campbell's tomato. We really like tomato basil soup. Whenever it's on a menu, I love to get it. But this wasn't worth ordering. I guess, the best part about this dinner was the rolls. I forgot about them. They were like a garlic knot / roll type things. We each had one, and everybody like those. Long story short, we don't plan to go back, and we will just stick with Old spaghetti factory or spaghetti from a box. read more

I'm picky when it comes to services here in UT, especially if my drink hasn't been refilled for a while (I was once a waitress, and I understand it can be hard but it's really good to stick to standards). Normally so amazing but today i had meatballs with mushy cool undone center. Waiter says thats how they should be. I ordered before and are normally cook through. Sent them back and they came back undercooked again. Had upset stomach and could not eat them. They did Comp them but awful experience. Gonna take a long break from being a regular customer. We have lived Fratelli for years and it is even better with a brand new building/restaurant location. The food was amazing as usual. I've never gotten the pizza before but my kids ordered a couple and I was very impressed Ruth the Fratelli pizza. The Bucatini pasta and Gnocchi were so delicious as well. Probably the worst food experience I've had since moving to Ut. I asked how long they'd been open bc I didn't think it was that long but already the booths smelled dirty and had that weird smell a car gets when you have small kids and milk cups and what have you gets spilt in them. Not what I expected from a place open for only a few months. The Piccata was so bland I had to get extra capers to give it any flavor. I had high expectations bc it was recommended by a few different friends but it didn't meet any of my expectations. The server was very nice, not overly educated on the items and could stand to wash his apron at least once a week maybe but definitely a good dude. Everything was Just over all meh. As soon as I left I started to feel so sick. My boyfriend and I were sick ALL NIGHT. He for some dumb reason ate his left overs the next day and was sick again for hours after he ate. We both had different items so kinda wack we both got sick. Can't be a good sign for what's going on in the BOH. read more

Tried the new location on 1300 East. The dinner overall was not worth the $130 price tag for the following reasons. The server took our order which included wine, an appetizer, salad, entree and dessert. The appetizer (Arancini) was the best part of the meal. Unfortunately for us, it was served with a glass of water (which was not refilled). The salad with house dressing was ok but not outstanding (still no wine served). The entree arrived while we were in the middle of our salad and we had to ask a second time where the wine was. The server apologized (again) and brought the wine. At this point our water glasses were finally refilled by another server. We decided to get our dessert (Tiramisu) as take-out. I don't know if it was the server who ruined the dinner or an overloaded kitchen. Whatever the reason, I would not recommend the restaurant for dinner. read more
