Excellent pizza. And I felt like I was in NYC. We came here on a whim on an early Saturday night (around 8 p.m.), though this joint has been on our radar for years. The atmosphere is somewhat dingy, but not in a dirty way. Rather, it just felt like they spend so much time turning out wonderful pies that they really don't have time to touch up the paint. Seating is limited. We found a table in the loft, and it was just fine. It's counter service here, and the young lady who took our order was polite and efficient. Parking, by the way, is on the street or in one of the nearby garages. Most importantly, the pizza here is really good. The atmosphere reminded me of so many pizza joints in NYC, as did the pizza -- thin, foldable crust and a tomato-forward sauce. The cheese is top notch, as is the uber-thin pepperoni and fresh mushrooms. Slices are available, and seemingly popular, but we ordered a whole pie. I understand that this place is open until the crack of dawn for all the bar-goers. During our visit, however, we were the only customers without kids -- or infants. Yep. It was Romper Room for sure. All of that to say that drunks might get their 3 a.m. pizza fix here, but so too do young families patronize this place much earlier. Fun experience. Wonderful pizza.

Quick, tasty, good fresh pizza and some other non Italian items on the menu. I really like the Boudin Bacon Rolls, just let them breathe before you bite into them.

After going to two bars, my friends and I had the munchies around 1 am on a saturday. So we came here! It was extremely packed yet still manageable and had open seatings. There was also security on site. It was super busy so we just picked a slice of pizza that was ready to go and went upstairs to chill and eat. There were only two types of pizza ready to go, cheese and meat. Everything else had a 20 min wait. The cheese was super stretchy and bread was soft and thin. But I would like more sauce and more topping variety. I really liked how they can sell by the slice and had ready to go boxes if we wanted to eat elsewhere instead. But it was like $5 a slice. Thinking back, it would had been more affordable if we just bought a whole pizza and shared that. There were also napkins on every table. As one of the few places open after 1 am and quick service, I'll come by again and hope there are other variety to try. We parked and paid at a nearby garage.

Ok late night za. Not amazing but not awful. A bit floppy. Got the sausage veggie which had a lot of toppings on it. Pretty packed for a Thursday night, but the line went quickly. Wish they had more of a variety of slices for purchase, there were only 3 options. You can get a pie if you want to wait. Glad they had packets of crushed red pepper and parmesan to grab to go.

Franks pizza is not to far from taste restaurant. The pizza was fresh and is served by the slice or whole pizza. We got slices just to put something on our stomach before dinner tonight.! There is upstairs seating and down stairs seating. This place seems popular, a lot of ppl came in to order and left out. They have wine and beer along with bottle sodas, also a fountain drink area.

Coming here is like being in New York and grabbing a slice. What can I say? It is that good. Authentic and truly delicious in every way. Franks is the kind of place that you can come during the day or you can come after midnight and grab a slice and a cold beer and sit down and people watch. There are times when the line is out the door because it's just that good. Everyone is super friendly because they know that you will leave satisfied. Prices are reasonable. Franks is just a classic!

Tasty pie! Sauce was flavorful, great tasting pepperoni, and melty cheese. Easy to order and done quickly. They are walking distance from several hotels and worth the trek.

I love franks pizza, I was born and raised in Houston so it's been a staple in my life. I've brought my kids here since they were young and now Everytime we are downtown this is where they want to eat and I never have any disagreement on that. Their pizza is amazing, it's cheap. You can grab just a slice. They will make whatever you want. They are always fast and super friendly. Its decor is all Houston based movie posters all over. We love Frank's!

Should have taken picture of the burger without the bun on top as the meat was to the edge of the bun. Everything was hot. Great flavors.

The food here is consistent, affordable and always hits the spot. The staff is friendly and gets the orders moving. Whenever I am around the area this pizzeria is always on my list of spots to eat. There are usually crowds, but they have upstairs seating. I like to sit up at the front and people watch all of the theatre crowds. The ambience is kind of a dive but that's the charm about this place. I love it!

Staff is nice, plenty of seating but sadly the pizza is about as good as a dominos pizza on a good night.

Absolutely amazing 100% worth the hype!! The pizza has such an amazing flavor, the thick tomato sauce so rich in flavor. The wings were good wouldn't recommend getting the breadsticks, were hard and unflavorful. Nice guys at the front spoke spanish. Cute little place not a lot of sitting so be prepared.

My pizza was ready on time and the service was great although our interaction was brief. It's a thin crust pizza and the edges were just perfect out of the oven. The chimichurri worked perfectly with the smokiness of the chicken. The cheese was so fresh and the sauce flavorful. Next time I'll order it well done because the toppings made it a bit soggy in the middle the next day. I can't wait to try more on the menu! The space is small and has patio seating. I would consider it more for takeout or a quick lunch.

Walking in there a couple seats to the right, menu is on the wall to the left, and order & pickup counter in the center. I ordered the Coffee Cowboy pizza and a full order of Dad's Bruschetta (Dad OG's). It took quite a while for the food to be ready, as it was a Friday, and was just blowing up on social media. So I recommend ordering online beforehand, I also noticed while waiting for my food to be ready, that the staff taking orders were bias towards certain customers but that could just be me. There are more tables and seating outside in front with napkins rolls available which I sat at when the food ready. The Coffee Cowboy pizza had coffee-crusted hereford flank steak, smoked onion bianco sauce, mozz, white cheddar, caramelized onion, smoked salt, and truffled arugula. But sadly wasn't to my liking along with the Dad's Bruschetta. Overall, food wasn't really to my liking, and recommend ordering ahead of time.

You know a place...a place you call home. Well, this is it…read more Home Slice. Put your phone down, have a piece of pie, the whole pie, enjoy a pint, and truly savor the moment. You won't regret it.

I often hear and see other people comparing pizza they find in Houston to pizza in New York City…read more The comparisons never make sense to me because, for one thing, the water is different from one city to the next, but also the ingredients can be different as well. One would also be hard pressed to find pizza in Houston which is identical to what is found in Chicago; New Haven, Connecticut or Italy. Each city's (or country's) offerings should just be appreciated on their own merit. With Home Slice Pizza, the first thought which comes to mind is: it's a welcome familiar sight (with lots of character and unique design) while driving along Travis Street. As I recall, this spot was once utilized by chef Monica Pope years ago. I love the exterior design, which incorporates colorful graffiti, unique signage in red lettering, the cool brick exterior and a "Hello"-inspired painting of Lionel Richie. Pizza-wise, I just wanted to try a pepperoni slice. And while it kind of looked like a slice one could get in NYC because of the thin crust, I also thought the crust wasn't as moist or saucy as what I would get in NYC. And it wasn't as cheesy either. Just thinking of the pizza I've tried from Ray's in the East Village in NYC, and I think of Home Slice as more of an Austin brand (with a bit of an East Coast flair) now in Houston which which will likely be around for years to come. The service at the counter was good. Parking is relatively easy here, and next time I'd like to go inside, enjoy the ambiance and try the pizza again.
