We are very disappointed in the firewood we got delivered this year for the first time. It was supposed to be dry, seasoned wood but it's anything but, because it does NOT light on fire unless you use multiple fire-starter sticks and kindling. We also had to purchase additional kiln-dried seasoned wood to "mix in" with the wood we purchased from him. Buyer beware! read more

My review is based solely on an employee who got out of the truck and called me every name in the book because I was going around the vehicle. The vehicle was in the left lane with no turn signals on, so I went to go around and the employee got out and yelled at me using the most terrible language at 10am. He continued his rant the entire time the truck was backing into a driveway. I made calls to the company asking for a return phone call, but no phone call was returned. Don't know much about this guy's tree service... but I can tell you a thing or two about his firewood. 1. It's probably from a tree he cut last week because it is 100% unseasoned. My wife ordered several hundred dollars worth, and I haven't been able to burn a thing. To have any hope of a fire, the wood needs to be inside for about two weeks... THEN I need to prop it up around the fire to dry. Even when you do finally get a piece burning (with aide of a duraflame log) you can hear the moisture hissing through it. DO NOT BUY FIREWOOD FROM THIS GUY. 2. I'VE NEVER SEEN A MORE UNSTACKABLE PILE OF GARBAGE IN MY LIFE. None of his wood is uniform. It's all scraps and bits. No two lengths are the same. You just can't stack this junk. 3. You're getting about 200-400 lbs of his yard garbage with it. Dirt, twigs, and rocks the size of bowling balls in the dumped wood. Do not buy wood, doesn't burn with the aid of anything. Wood couldn't possibly be seasoned even for a day. Have had the wood inside my home for over a month and am unable to keep a fire lit. The duraflame provides flame and the wood just hisses and never catches. Wood is extremely dirty and all different lengths. Save yourself the money and buy wood elsewhere read more

A friend recommend Franks to me so I ordered a half lot of wood. Delivery was scheduled for Saturday a week and half later 7-10. Assuming this was an 'am' delivery I was up and waited for them for the 4 hours. It was actually a 'pm' delivery. The wood arrived and must have been damp. The guys were friendly and efficient. Three difficult smokey fires later I called franks to explain. They said the wood can get wet with the snow and should dry out. They agreed to drop off more kindling to get the fire going. This was never delivered. Disappointing disjointed service. read more

I have watched these guys all day and I can't figure out how they are in business. They are as slow as molasses. They wander around looking at each other and even though just one tree needs to be taken care of on the property, it's looking like they will have to come back again tomorrow to take care of it (that will make it almost a 3-day job). On top of that, they leave their trucks idling for hours even though they are not in use. Engines running and absolutely no need. Super frustrating to watch. read more

Awful firewood and no response when I complained. I bought a 1/2 cord for $200. The wood is not seasoned properly, is extremely difficult to burn, and makes a hissing sound when burned because its wet. I'll have to leave the wood inside for a few weeks first to have any chance at burning a good fire. I will never buy wood from this company again. In fact, if anyone knows of a good business in the north shore that sells properly seasoned wood, I'd love to know for next year. read more

I paid for 1 cord, but by generous measurement received 0.64 cord. I did get a wheelbarrow full of rough fill. At least 20% of the wood I would describe a scrap chunks. I have been leaving messages for over a week but have not received a call. Can't recommend Frank's for firewood. read more

No stars. Ordered 3 cords of firewood and was only delivered a cord and a half. Told Frank and he said he would deliver another cord and a half but only dropped off a cord. Maybe he was counting the cubic yard of dirt and empty soda cans that came with the wood. So I got shorted a half a cord. That's not too bad but half of the wood that was delivered was unseasoned. Gave him one chance to make good but he didn't. Maybe he doesn't know what a cord is or doesn't know what seasoned is or maybe he just tries this to see what he can get away with. Not going to buy from him next year. read more
