Jesse Shrewsbury came up with a very nice plan for my project and made great suggestions as we went along. I was very pleased that I got to personally select the shrubs along with Jesse at the nursery. Additonally, I'm sure they would have made the right selections for me if I didn't want that level of participation. Jesse was on-sight everyday and communicated with the team throughout the day to make sure no detail went unchecked. The team was truly a pleasure to work with. I started with Stefanos in the summer of 2023 to revamp my entire landscaping. Pat was awesome with giving ideas and following up through the entire job. As we approached completion I was very excited to have such a professional landscaping company to work with going forward for the 2024 season. The contract was very specific and I new what to expect throughout the season. What I didn't expect was each time the lawn was mowed the landscapers were did not spend more than 15 minutes on the property. I was told because of my location, 20 minutes from there office, transportation was deducted from time spent on the property. This meant after the mowing, the clean up was barely done. All the debris blown into the street and was not cleaned up. To be honest, I was embarrassed at what not only I had to look at and my neighbors as well. I made several calls to Jenn the property manager for our location and a million excuses were made. The last straw was the fall clean up. At the last lawn cut, all the leaves were blown under the shrubs and trees on the property. I spoke with the landscape manager on site and was told this is how they handle fall clean up and another crew would be coming in about a month. I stated this was totally unacceptable and I wanted it cleaned immediately. Needless to say, I was not happy and again I spoke with Jenn who was less than helpful. I requested Jenn to come down in March 2025 to go over what my expectations would be going forward and this request was denied as she stated oh we don't do that. The tenants emailed me to tell me that Stefano's was showing up at the property and basically driving around on their riding mower over a dead lawn. I received no phone call or notification from Stefano's about the fact that they have been for over a month "mowing" a dead lawn, or even that my lawn was dead in the first place and might need to be reseeded. To be fair, the tenants should have told me about it earlier, but it isn't their job. Stefano's is the company that I pay thousands of dollars a year to specifically to take care of this lawn!!!! For context, I have been using Stefano's landscaping since 2015, so 7 to 8 years now. Initially, when the company was smaller, they offered a customer friendly service that was attentive to individual customer needs. I live in the Montreal area and have relied on Stefano's landscaping to take care of the lawn for my property in Wakefield, MA, year after year. When I contacted them to ask why they had not advised me of the problem with the dead lawn, they blamed me for not watering the lawn, and that weekly mowings were a take it or leave it proposition whether or not the lawn is dead. They were completely insensitive to the fact I didn't know the lawn was dead, and that THEY DID KNOW and didn't advise me. Because they forced me to choose between weekly mowings or nothing, this left me no choice but to cancel the service. However, I thought it would be fair that they take responsibility for the many weeks they have now spent giving the lawn "services" consisting of driving to the property then driving around on a dead lawn without notifying me. Their response was to accuse me of being dissatisfied for wanting bi-weekly instead of weekly mowings (which was NOT the issue), accuse me of being inconsiderate for taking up other customers' time slots, and that they had after all "done things" on the property. Baffled by this response, I pointed out that this would result in a negative review online, after which they accused me of threatening to leave a negative review in retaliation for not receiving free "services" and that the owner of the company would contact their lawyer to sue me over this. IF IT IS NOT CLEAR FROM THE ABOVE, TO AVOID A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE, I WOULD RECOMMEND STAYING AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! read more

I hired Stefanos in Oct 2020 to renovate my lawn. After the renovation, I signed a contract with Stefano's to service my property in 2020 and 2021. After a couple of time, I noticed that there were holes in my new lawn after their service, due to mowing with the bigger mower. I called them at least 10 times and sent a lot of text messages. In my property file, they've written they must use small machines. However, they keep coming regularly with big mower and lawn aerator. I also used them to renovate the front staircase. They were not supposed to touch the pavers, but they decided to remove them. "Don't worry, we'll put them back." They put them back wrongly, and I've to call them and they came at least 3 times because it was not correct. Finally, after 6 months, the Techniseal HP next gen sand started to disappear because they applied it wrongly: they did not used a compactor and applied it just before a rain. Moreover, they used a grey sand without removing the previous black sand that remains sticked to the pavers. As a result, this year I had to hire a different company to redo the poly sand, one contractor recommended by TechniSeal. I used Stefano's landscaping also to put 2 hydrangeas on the 2 sides of my front staircases. The leaves of the first 2 were burned when they arrived. I had to call to have them replaced. They installed 2 news ones, but they did not add compost or did not losen the roots, just the nutriment present in the plant pot. I called to have some support, but I was told only planting was covered by the quote. So, I've spent a lot of time this summer by myself modifying the setting of irrigation, adding some nutriments, cutting dead leaves to save them. When I paid $1000 for 2 hydrangeas which cost them each 99$, I was expecting better... Last point, when they renovated the lawn in Oct 2020, they replaced a mulch area by lawn with a slope in direction of the house. I did not realize it sooner because I never got flood before. In August 2021, there were 2 heavy rains (Henry and Ida storms) and it filled my window well. I was told that I never complained before. Of course, 1st storms since Oct 2020 were Henry and Ida. I'd expect a better quality of services. I can understand they have different teams with different technical levels, and Stefano's Landscaping has a lot of turnovers. Sorry but: - the teams must read my property file before working - a manager must come at the end of the renovations to check the quality of the work! Unfortunately, I've no nothing left than post this review with my experience with Stefano's landscaping. I hope they will read this review and realize it's important to care about customers homes and valued the fact that in 1 year (Oct 2020 to now), I gave more than $24,100 to Stefano's landscaping. read more

Just cancelled my service with Stefano's landscaping Not a very good service had problems with them this summer. I am not happy with the service. Lawn fully mowed and did not weed whack the area. Had them come back twice because the job was not finished. Also they claimed they mowed my lawn for the month of October. I did not see any evidence of my lawn being mowed. I actually thought that they were finished for the season until I got my bill with the money withdrawn of my account. Looking for a new lawn service for next year. read more

Nick from Stefano's walked the yard and gave us suggestions along the way and created a beautiful front yard concept for us. TLDR summary: Good price, good communication, good job done. Would use again and would recommend. Details: I phoned or used the web contact page for 12 different local landscaping companies. Only a few got back to me and came to review the job. Of the few that made the cut and provided pricing, I selected Stefano's after seeing multiple recommendations for them in our local town's FB group. I dealt with Nick Amoroso. He was quick, efficient, answered all my questions and provided a reasonable quote when he said he would at the price we discussed. He also was around the building site on multiple days to discuss the project progress and review the work. When the work was done, he did a final review with me. Nick dropped off multiple samples of pavers so my wife could choose the color. He then picked them back up several days later. The morning of the job, the guys arrived early, introduced themselves and started work. They were efficient, polite and made minimal mess and cleaned up after themselves at the end of each day. In order to install the patio and walkway, they used a bobcat and a jackhamer to remove the old patio which had a 8 inch concrete slab under it. They also had to rip up irrigation systems and disassemble fences and underground downpipe water dispersal systems. They did all that and replaced the missing sections with new parts as they laid the new pavers. They did an excellent job. They even added new mulch to the garden beds next to the new patio and reseeded the areas on the edge of the walkway. I would use them again. read more

Only used them to clear some areas around our front and back lawn but we are very happy with their services. The before and after is such a difference and has opened up our lawn for all the changes we plan on getting done in the spring. Kenny was very responsive and even though Stefano's was more expensive than some other choices the level of attentiveness we got made us confident the attention to our needs would be the same and made all the difference. We recently hired Stefano's Landscaping & Design to put down a patio and dig up a cement walk way in our yard. All of the grass that was dug up in order to get the job done was leveled out and seeded as promised.. The team got the job quickly and precisely. We also felt that the pricing was competitive. I had Stefano's for years in Lynnfield and the were outstanding. This year I used them for my home in Peabody. The results were terrible.Keep in mind I hired them to do total property management as I have cancer and cannot perform the work myself. First, I had to come them back to finish the bark mulch; next I had to remind them to cut the yard and trim the bushes; following which they damaged my vinyl siding; my yard has not be cut in over three weeks, yet the paperwork to bill said differently and my grass is now 10 inches, and I requested the manager Kenny to visit he said yes, but never came. Called him again and said he was to busy and not compatible. So bottom line overcharged for work not done, the siding was never fixed, and my yard remains uncut even though I paid my bill! Fortunately, I hired another Landscaper who starts Weds. Steffano's got to big too care about residential properties like mine. Though I sent them pictures they could care less. We recently used Stefano's for a big landscaping project in our backyard and also to put up some fencing. We found them to be very professional - the guys in charge of the project were easy to contact and responsible, the crews showed up on time every day. (One day they didn't come when we expected them, but it was raining so it made sense, though a call would've been nice.) Their pricing was about the same as the other two companies we quoted from. When they discovered that a wall on our property was in bad repair they fixed it for us although that wasn't part of the original quote. Both Greg and Jeremy were friendly, flexible, and responsible, we felt like we were informed and consulted throughout the process, and the work was done neatly and thoroughly. Got in touch with Emily in the office through Yelp. Out of all the companies that where sent my request through yelf,Emily answered. She requested a bit more info and a accurate description on what I needed done. At know time did sh indicate that my work that needed to be done was too much . I had a fence put in with some of the sprinkler heads being behind fence and that being said needed to be relocated. I believe 3 sprinkler heads needed to be relocated. Davis showed up promptly on this Wednesday. He followed me around,turned the system on for the season and tested all heads. All the heads where working but just needed to be relocated and aiming of water stream needed to be re aimed. Davis has a remote control for water system I had which saved time on him running back and forth into basement where water sprinkler control is. That was a huge help since he was a one man band working on system in my yard. All I can say is David was polite and professional. He went right to work and although there was a couple areas under bushes that heads needed to be relocated and moved he never complained onece ! With this being there busy time of year I can't thank and recommend them enough ! This company definitely deserves five stars. This company has zero horticulteral knowledge. They came to our property and "lolli-popped" the entire property including several beautiful mature Cyprus specimens. Cyprus are not to be lolli-popped and can be minimally pruned at specific times of year. No one on property from this company spoke english, as I asked them to stop, they nodded and continued. Amazing team. Greg is very professional and his team is very meticulous and hard working. We had a retaining wall job done and some other landscape work and not only was job done right but at the days end the team would clean up all their tools and ensure the area and surrounding areas were free of debris and dust. He did a good job of re-paving my driveway, but when I asked him to do it a few years later, he didn't respond to my request. I found someone else to do it. On another later occasion he did some winter clean-up work. I questioned the bill amount, and he responded that they cleaned up areas i had not expected that they would do. Within a couple of hours, Kenny rang my doorbell. He walked through the yard with me and gave me a proposal on the spot. He explained that a cleanup was about a ten day wait.
