Lorenzo and his team arrived at 8am, they got to work pronto. They were here to prune a number of trees that were 100ft high, they worked hard all day. Lorenzo has all the big equipment to do a job like this. I was impressed with his big new bucket truck and his tree grinder. They put so many branches that were like trees themselves into that thing, it was kind of amazing to watch it. They were very neat in their work, did not tear up my yard. Put down some plywood, cleaned up after themselves, and also pruned and shaped some smaller trees in my front yard. They were very careful where the branches would come to rest after they were cut and very skilled in the exact place they lowered the branches onto the ground. They used chainsaws and pruners and roped all the larger pieces so they could control exactly where any limb landed. Overall, I couldn't be happier with their job and wouldn't hesitate to use them for anything else and they do quite a few different things. read more

My experience started well--Esteban's team was prompt with the initial assessment and provided a very good price for cutting down a tree and trimming others around my house. I need to have my driveway repaved, replacing a crumbling brick paver driveway with less expensive asphalt. Lorenzo of LL Hardscape responded to my Yelp enquiry, and came by to give an estimate. I was impressed by his knowledge and ability to address improving the drainage and street edging with some masonry in addition to the asphalt paving. His estimate was fair for the asphalt, a little high for the masonry, but I accepted the proposal and declined other contractors. Then, complete silence. No response at all to repeated questions. Very hard to understand. I hope everything is fine, but not knowing, I need to let others know not to waste their time and delay their projects! Note: after posting the review, I did hear back from Lorenzo, who had decided not to take on the project. I contacted Esteban in April for a quote on preparing our lawn for a garden planting that we were planning for June, and he gave us a good quote. We wanted to be sure to be on his books early, and asked twice for a date in the last week of May. He didn't give us a date, but said he'd be there, "don't worry." A week before, I texted him, and asked him what day he'd be coming. He didn't reply to three texts asking him when he'd come. I called him, and he said he'd check his schedule and call me back that night or the next day. He didn't. When I called again a few days later, he finally said he'd be here on Thursday or Friday. It rained all day Thursday, so I was expecting him Friday at 7:30. He never showed. I texted him asking if he was on his way. No reply. I called, and it went to voice mail, but the mailbox was full. He never called or texted to explain or apologize. We had been counting on Esteban doing his part that week because we had booked another contractor to do the next part of the job over the weekend. We had to cancel that and scramble to find a replacement for Esteban. Fortunately, we were able to get someone who came out for an estimate on Saturday and did a very good job on Monday, for less than Esteban had quoted. But Esteban's unprofessional behavior set our project back by a week. Not recommended. read more

A Tree had tipped and was leaning on our house from an adjoining property after cracking about 6 feet off the ground in a recent storm. I'm proud to be the first to review Rafael's work and to provide a solid 5 stars for it. His response to our inquiry was very fast and he arrived the next day to quote our project. His quote was delivered at the time of his visit which was nice considering some other contractors didn't even send a quote after coming to the property. We wanted a paver patio with sitting wall and fire pit, preparation for a shed, and yard cleanup with new mulch. The overall results are outstanding and I will outline each below: Paver patio: Rafael and his team worked diligently to prepare over 700 sqft of paver patio with wall and fire pit. The pattern laid was very intricate but was performed accurately and with great skill. Final work included glueing of the wall coping and poly sand. The sand turned out great with tight joints and a smooth protective finish. Shed preparation: Rafael dug and filled a 240 sqft shed base for us. His dig out was very clean and effective use of the compactor meant we don't have to worry about the shed moving over time. The shed contractor remarked that the pad is one of the best he has seen. Yard cleanup and mulch: Not much to say here other than the results met all of our expectations and then some. Edging was cut accurately and mulch laid very smooth from edge to edge. Cleanup under the plants was done effectively and the mulch laid under to help keep them moist in the coming summer heat. Overall his work over the last couple weeks has been 5+ stars. I don't hesitate to recommend him for any landscaping job you may have. Give him a ring as I think you will be as happy with your result as we are with ours. read more
