I wish I could recommend Edgar and Sons! He was a nice man! However, after many follow up calls to the owner due to an incomplete job, I was told by his assistant that he was "too busy" to call me back. Ultimately, the job we agreed to with contract was not done to completion, in spite of the assistant's insistence that it was. The owner was not on the job EITHER day and this is important. While the crew came back to attempt to complete the original job ( we appreciated that!), the owner was not there. The result was that the job is currently STILL not what we agreed upon. The owner is not willing to return to finish it. Caveat emptor...just know that if the job is not done according to agreement, you will have trouble reaching the owner and it will not be made right. We really wanted to have a great experience! read more

Edgar and sons took 3 trees from our yard Monday this week and I must say I am totally impressed! All three guys showed up at 7am and worked hard til 4pm taking 3 huge 80-100 foot trees. Due to the lack of daylight, they had to come back Tuesday to finish, grinding the stumps and cleaning up. They worked very well together and efficiently. The price was great for all they did! I would highly recommend them and will use them again in the future! read more

I reached out to this company because of the excellent Yelp reviews. They wasted a week of my time after messaging that they could help me and never responded after I provided my email. read more

Edgar and his team ripped out an old retaining wall and constructed a new one for me. It looks beautiful. The price quote was reasonable, and they always communicated with me very clearly about the details of the job. I also appreciated that they came at the same time each morning, and worked diligently until the job was done. I would not hesitate to use them for another job in the future. read more

What a great experience. Received a quote the day after I requested it, the price was reasonable and the work was completed within two weeks. The actual work was outstanding and very professional. I can't recommend them highly enough! read more

I hired Edgar & Sons to build a gravel pad for a shed, to replace concrete blocks. They did a great job, work quality is good, they were punctual courteous and polite. They even built a minor retaining wall with recycled materials from the old pad. I would definitely recommend them and hire them in the future. read more

Edgar and Sons are very good at landscape and design. I am a tough customer and I don't always know how I want things done until the project takes shape. Edgar has worked with me every step of the way during a difficult time with the repair of my curb appeal on two highly visible sides of my residence. I threw him a few curved balls and he adjusted things for me at the last minute to fit my needs. He is fair with his prices and responds quickly with good ideas. I highly respect and recommend Edgar and Sons and I have had a lot of landscapers over the years. read more

Edgar and Sons have done numerous projects for us. From large shrub removal, tree trimming, tree removal, landscaping, and fence installation, to name a few. I will not call anyone else! They are the best! read more

entire property needed to be pruned with hedges and shrubs lowered, trees opened up and made smaller. I wanted everything to still look natural and not like "meatball" shrubs. Edgar and Sons did exactly what I envisioned and worked hard and fast. Cost was reasonable for what was done. super neat workers. could not have been more pleased! read more

This team is quick to response, professional in what they are doing, and get the job done. More importantly, they charge a reasonable price. They did the landfill and seeding for our downward sloping backyard in the first project then cut a few trees down in the second project, both of which were very nicely done. There was some miscommunication about how much tree root will be left in the 2nd project but that was a small issue. Overall, we are happy working with Edgar! I would highly recommend this team! read more

Full disclosure: I ended up choosing a different service provider for my tree removal. That said, I was extremely impressed with the speed and professionalism Edgar demonstrated in his reply time, availability to survey the job and provision of a quote. He was also able to begin the work within the week. If the need arises again, I would not hesitate to reach out. read more

Edgar and Sons is a high quality company. They did a fantastic job re-doing our walkway and front step area. They also repitched and leveled our front yard which was sloped towards the house bringing in rain water during heavy rains. We have had no problems since. Edgar is a good communicator, fair and sticks to his word. He will fairly workout a problem if it occurs. We had an issue with miscommunication regarding the type of stone I wanted for a stone riverbed in the front yard. I asked to see the stone before they laid it - but that detail got lost somehow and they laid something I didn't like. He was willing to compromise to change the outer layer to the wanted, even though the stone I actually wanted was a lot pricer - which I hadn't originally realized. I will hire them for additional work in the future. read more

Edgar & Sons' tree service & landscapers did a beautiful job in restoring the yards at the front, sides, and back of my house. Due to an injury, I haven't been able to keep up with the yard and it has become overgrown. They trimmed out two trees of dead wood and cut out some overhanging branches, cut back some very overgrown shrubs, cut down some volunteer tree saplings, and dealt with an invasion of vines on the garage and back fence line-- all while treating all the roses, hydrangeas, and other perennial plants and shrubs with care. They mowed the grass and trimmed the hedges, and put everything back where it belonged. It took three of their crew eight hours to do something it would have taken me a full week to do. They did a beautiful job sweeping and raking up, too. The crew chief, Avner, was polite and friendly, and the whole crew did an excellent, fast job. The price was very reasonable for all the work that had to be done. If I could give a million stars, I would, but for now I'll have to just hire them for ongoing biweekly maintenance and fall cleanup. read more

Edgar came out same day after I called him early in the morning in a panic. I woke up to a huge piece of my maple tree on my shed and backyard. He was there in a few hours gave me a quote and came back as soon as possible to get the tree removed. They then came a few days later to help with spring clean up. Grateful to have found them. read more

Edgar and his team were excellent with a major tree project at our home. From the responsiveness to my inquiry to the super affordable estimate to the great results during their day-long visit, the team were pro's and we couldn't be happier. We'll definitely have them back for future tree service needs! read more

Edgar did an excellent job taking down our trees, 15 of them. He provided the lowest quote, was responsive, and able to update the scope via texts. He also was available in weeks, not months. When the day of work came it POURED, and he and his boys got all the trees down anyway, they even took down an additional one we decided should go. We had him come back and grind the stumps, and level, grade, and seed our former wooded area. All done excellently, and entirely coordinated by text with no need to make time to walk anyone around or talk on the phone. Its a real family business, and every one who came to work treated our job like they owned the company and doing their best mattered. read more

We had Edgar at our house for snow removal. He did the best job of anyone that's plowed here for the last 35 years. They go above and beyond and we are totally satisfied. Definitely will use Edgar for anything they do, not just snow plowing. Both thumbs up!! Good job! read more

Quality company. Came out when they said they would. Very competitive offer. Performed the work as expected and cleaned up well. Very satisfied and would use again for tree removal, stump grinding, and any other service that they would offer. read more

Very reasonable prices. I talked with a few other places in the area to get an estimate and I feel that they were the most honest one during negotiation (didn't give me a crazy high price and then cut their prices by more than a thousand to compete with other places. I feel like some places were just trying to see how much they can get out of us rather than giving an honest estimate of how much the work is worth) Anyway, we decided to go with Edgar and Sons and they helped us cut down two trees! They were very professional and cleaned up the space afterwards read more

Edgar and Son's is a true family business where pride of work and customer service still deeply matters. Esteban and his sons worked quickly and safely: * Expertly pruning my ornamental trees, * Trimming some 80 foot Hemlocks * Removing and stumping a 50 foot Norway maple. (Due to the difficult location between two houses, the team climbed the tree and carefully removed it piece by piece.) I had 4 bids for this work and Edgar & Sons had the best combination of strong Yelp reviews, the right heavy equipment, responsiveness and reasonable price. I was very happy with everything and highly recommend them for your tree work. read more

I got quotes from 5-6 other companies for removal of 2 trees plus one tree that fell in a storm, but Edgar gave me the lowest price. Not only that, but communication was smooth and easy, and most importantly him and his team got the job done quickly and efficiently. Overall highly recommended. read more

On time and clean work. Will reach out again for any future tree work.

Edgar and Sons did some tree work at my house a little over a week ago and they did a tremendous job on the project. To clearing out trees, to pruning and removing 2 big dead cherry trees they were meticulous and efficient. The price was more than reasonable and Edgar was a great guy to do business with. It is really great to see the pride Edgar and his Sons take in their work and in providing great services to the community. I am looking forward to doing business with them again in the future. If you are looking for an outstanding tree service company, then look no further than Edgar and Sons. You will be happy you did. Thank you Edgar and Sons! read more

I shopped around, and got four quotes for extensive tree removal and trimming. They gave the best prices and they were super efficient. Very impressed with the work ethic of this crew. So happy to have found Edgar and Sons! read more

No idea whether their services are high-quality or not, but I found the representative I talked to very rude when talking with him about our job of tree pruning. We ended up going with someone else in large part because of a lack of professionalism over the phone. read more

They failed to keep an appointment to prepare a quote. That was distressing and inexcusable.

They responded in a timely manner and were friendly enough. They were one of three companies we interviewed for the job. Ultimately, we chose another provider. He was not as personable as the others that quoted our job and I just didn't get the feeling that he was real interested in the work that we needed. My review therefore is more about the quoting/interviewing assessment since we chose someone else. read more

This company is unbelievable. Arrived exactly on time and got the job done super quick. Excellent communication starting with the estimate to booking the job. Walked the property before and after to make sure we were happy. The cleanup was perfect and I already hired them for spring cleanup next year. read more

I highly recommend Edgar to anyone - we had a few large trees that fell during a wind storm, and Edgar was very responsive and provided a reasonable quote. His crew came early and worked throughout the entire day, and though they ended very late, they still made sure to clean up after themselves. I would definitely work with him again, as he has other landscaping services, and we were very pleased with their work! read more

Got three quotes for a variety of tree maintenance/trimming/stump grinding jobs and Edgar came in the lowest and seemed reputable so I went with him. He and his crew were timely and professional. Very professional from the quote process to the final cleanup. We had a huge job and they were able to accomplish everything in 2 days. His prices were very fair as well. I would highly recommend this business read more

Highly recommend. Quick and efficient. Cleaned up well afterwards. Very reasonable price.

Edgar cleared out our overgrown garden and pruned overgrown shrubs. He returned phone calls promptly, gave a precise, very reasonable estimate, came within two weeks of first making contact, and, especially, did an excellent job shaping shrubs that I had been told needed to be cut back to the ground. Outstanding. read more

Very Dependable business. Edgar is a nice guy and gets the work done well. Pricing is reasonable too.

Residential snow removal for Malden. They do a good job, are super nice and very quick!

I hired Edgar for two separate jobs, and he did a great job on both of them. One was taking down a tree that was growing against a garage; the other was a mix of tree trimming, mulching, and fence installation. Fair price, quality work, quick service. 10/10 would hire again. read more
