I needed a large maple tree removed from my backyard and our tight gate opening didn't allow for larger machinery. Went with Lopez Landscaping since they had the smaller equipment and manpower to get the job done. The tree was quickly removed but it was a 3 star maybe 3.5 star experience because of the additional work needed to coordinate everything. The good: - competitive quote and they were able to come by quickly to assess the work - flexible in bringing equipment that worked with tight openings - main tree removal was done in 5 hours - removed paver stones so they wouldn't be damaged by machinery - friendly and professional. They accommodated a special request to cut a section for a table The bad: - rescheduling was a huge pain. We had to go back and forth for 3 weeks and I had to proactively follow up to confirm if they were coming - unable to grind the stump as part of the initial quote so had to pay another $400 for them to come back with a different machine - never got an invoice despite asking for one multiple times To summarize, this seems to be a nice family business that has experience removing trees quickly. However, it doesn't appear there is a back office that keeps everything organized so you're going to have to do a lot of work to stay on top of things. read more

Phenomenal tree removal and pruning. When we had multiple estimates, Lopez came in significantly under the competition, and it was clear from our conversation that the competition was trying to overcharge us. We had a very large pine tree removed in addition to lots of pruning for several trees around the house. The pine was, in addition to being large, right night to a coaxial cable going to our neighbor's house. I was initially worried about damage to our yard, and also damage to the coax cable. Let me be clear- these guys are definitely the "Seal Team 6" of tree removal. They are very professional and it was abundantly clear that this wasn't their first rodeo, and they protected the coax cable and also avoided damage to our yard. They were great with communication, sending a professional invoice in advance, and there were no surprises the day of the work. Earlier salesman Michael Lopez negotiated to match my competitive quotes from two other tree specialist landscapers. Each of our three houses were quoted a reasonable rate. Note that fees are best agreed before commissioning the job, as the costs for additional work may be less competitive to negotiate onsite. Overall, tree pruning was done nicely by an expert crew who used lift, ropes, climbing and all to do a quick efficient clean job on 2 trees under 3 hour. I am very grateful to Michael and the team at Lopez Landscaping. Michael came out quickly, provided a quote that was in line with others we had gotten. He took the time to walk me through the logistics of getting our two trees down and check on two other trees (fine). Michael also re-explained all of this to a neighbor who shares one of the trees (and signed off on taking it down). Michael's team arrived early on the day of the work, and quickly pulled down two 40-50 foot trees. They went beyond what I expected in taking down a stump that was in a tricky spot with a metal fence running through it and cleaned up well. A couple of branches landed harder than Michael or I had expected, but Lopez Landscaping took care of the bushes and offered to communicate with the affected neighbor. I had a very tight timeline and Fabio was able to schedule our job in less than 48 hours. The entire group was friendly and courteous, and they worked extremely hard for seven straight hours. I was very impressed with these guys. I had a big silver maple that had to go. It was squeezed in between several houses and could only be accessed from my neighbors driveway which is above my yard behind a retaining wall and a fence. It was a ticklish job. They had to actually pluck the main trunk up in sections and get it over a retaining wall and a fence. They got the tree down and out in three hours!
