Not only are the doughnuts outstanding but the workers and staff are honest and I am over satisfied. I ordered using DoorDash as it is an easy alternative rather than picking up. I'm not crazy about DoorDash as I know they are extremely over priced but it's likely for convenience which I am aware of, however, Fractured prune staff went Above and beyond due to their awareness of this issue. They wrote me a note saying I was over charged for 7 donuts, they should of gave me a price for half dozen. Due to this they gave me 4 extra donuts and said enjoy! How can you give a bad review? The donuts are the best, and they have amazing choices and flavors. The only downside is the parking lot is a little difficult to navigate, but that is because people are willing to kill you with their car to get the donuts...what does that tell you. Every time we're in the area, we stop here. Don't let the name fool you- the place has nothing to do with prunes. It's all about piping hot donuts made to order, super-friendly staff, and good coffee (including a nice selection of flavored coffees!). If you go, ask the staff for recommendations. I've been surprised to find that some of my favorite doughnut concoctions are ones I'd never think to order! Also, if you go with friends or family, grab a knife to cut the donuts and share. And if you bring your pooch, they just may get their own special something (staff have been known to carry dog treats!). read more

Oh my gosh! I cannot even start to explain how good their donuts are! They have an abundance of flavors and kinds to choose from and are made fresh daily. They are crispy and perfectly cooked as well as coated with delicious frosting, sprinkles, and many other yummy toppings. I am a sucker for Dunkin Donuts but boy does the prunes donuts knock dunkin out of the water. They are not too sweet and and have the perfect ratio to all the ingredients. It is my favorite place to go in search of donuts. 10/10 would recommend! You will not be let down! When it comes to donuts, this place rocks! All the donuts are made to order, so you get hot, fresh donuts with your choice of flavors. The great thing is that you get hot, fresh donuts, the downside is you have to wait for them, but it is worth the wait. We tried 6 different flavors - chocolate covered cherry, lemonade, french toast, plain jane, morning buzz, and OC sand. I have a sweet tooth, and this place is really bad news for people like me. It is heavenly!!! Some people drive for hours for really good BBQ or pizza -- I'll drive for hours for one of these donuts. The variety is blissful. I love the snickers, rocky road, lemonade, banana split, peanut butter & jelly, etc. But, I'm a purist at heart and if I could only eat one flavor donut for the rest of my life, it would be the Fractured Prune honey cinnamon. In short, I love this place. They've got two things going for them: decent, honest, fresh-out-of-the-oil donuts from the "Donut Robot", and custom hand dipping of your donuts to order. Whether picking from their menu of pre-chosen topping combinations, or just telling them what you are hankering for, the result is a fresh hot donut with just the toppings you want. The staff is friendly and welcoming, the decor is funky, and it's really a good way to start the day. While I've had better donuts, the combination of having exactly the toppings you want, done to order takes an otherwise "Good" donut and makes it a "Great" donut. Discovered this gem thanks to YELP on a recent trip the the DE Coast... As usual, Yelp never steers me wrong! The donuts were made fresh (as in they started making them after we ordered) and the toppings were overwheleming! I had one with chocolate and peanuts, while my wife had a mint/chocolate combo. Both were excellent! The staff was very friendly and patient while we made our choices. The coffee was good as well, even though it came from a self-serve bar. I wish there was one of these closer to home, but I can't wait to have another of their yummy treats the next time I am in the Dewey area. read more

A summertime ritual of mine at the DE beaches is to do a 5k run (they have organized runs in Dewey just about every Sat or Sun during the season), burn 400 calories or so, then cancel the run out by heading to Fractured Prune (BIZARRE name for a donut shop, I know, but go with it) and getting two donuts and a cup of joe. It is one of my "things" during the summer that I look forward to the rest of the year. They are made fresh and to order and the people who work there are so amazingly nice. I've always been kind of a donut snob since my father made the best homemade donuts. I had heard about this place on Unwrapped and a couple other tv shows. I might have been a little too excited when I saw there was a location in Delaware. When you walk in they ask how many donuts you'll be having so they can fry them fresh. Hot fresh donuts are already like 10x better than anywhere else. How can it get better? They have a ton of interesting flavors to choose from and hand dip them to order. We split the Apple Pie, Rolo, and the Mixed Berry. The Apple Pie donut might have been the best thing I've ever tasted. I took off a star because the milk I bought was spoiled even though it had a different date on it. I wouldn't have taken the star off just for the milk itself since clearly they wouldn't have known without tasting it. What bothered me was how they handled the situation. If my patron had drank spoiled milk I probably would have brought them water not made them come buy the water. They also close at 3pm even on a busy weekend. We would have bought some more to take home with us. $6 minimum Credit Card purchase. read more

This was my first time having fresh, warm, hand dipped donuts and wow wow whoa...I won't be able to have a donut from a chain spot again. The choice of glazes and toppings can be overwhelming. I decided to play it safe with the peppermint patty and it was delicious. The husband had the chocolate/peanut combo & that was equally delicious. It's the really awesome donut shop with the weird name. Trust me, look past the name, get to the nearest location and try as many as you can. Stand in line, pick a few of the donut specials like my favorite, BlueBerry Hill or choose your own toppings. Stopped by about 11am for the famous donuts and a couple of bagels. (They only had plain and everything) Older man behind the counter asked the lady in charge -how much for bagels? She yells "$2 a piece." I thought, a little steep but it's vacation so no big deal. He warmed two 6 pack stacks of COSTCO BAGELS!!! We were shocked to say the least and left the shop shaking our heads with the overpriced store made bagels and donuts that were good but over-hyped for sure. This place was a horrific experience. First they charge a .40 charge, if under $10 dollars!! They use playing cards as a form of calling orders. "9 of spades" , " 4 of clubs" and tennis balls are on their chairs. We're not in a third grade classroom. Just use normal numbers. I pulled three separate water bottles out of the fridge. After reading all the reviews on yelp, I decided we had to try these donuts. We were staying very close by so we stopped in and grabbed a dozen-mixed variety. I tried 2- cookies & cream and something with coconut on it... I was not impressed at all, neither were the people I was staying with. I couldn't taste the flavor of either donut-just a plain almost banana like taste of a donut on both- and I HATE banana. I was bummed I really had higher expectations I guess. Fantastic doughnuts. We go to Rehoboth Beach just to have these doughnuts. It's an unpretentious little store where they make the doughnuts when you order. The couple that run the shop are friendly. Only one drawback -- they do not have soy milk or almond milk for your coffee. read more

Awesome doughnuts. Inventive flavors you would never have dreamed about. We cut all our doughnuts into quarters so that people could taste a lot of them without eating a whole doughnut. Oh what I can say about the total awesomeness that is served in this place. Came here on a recommendation during a 3 day trip. Visited here on the 2nd day got 6 donuts to try, loved them to much that on our trip back to NY we got 14 more. Im so glad that this place doesnt exist near my house, or else I would transform into a donut myself. But please seriously, do yourselves a favor, if you are anywhere near the vicinity of a fractured prune, please go and give your tastebuds the blissful feeling of these decadent donuts. Great spot with create your own donuts (basic cake donuts, fresh fried with a nice crisp, then you add a glaze and topping (or pick from their suggested combos) ).
