It's a very cute place and based on the other reviews, looked like an excellent find! The only reason I didn't rate 5 stars was because they gave us very little toppings. That was the only drawback since the menu said "unlimited toppings." We only received a tiny plop of strawberries in comparison to some of the pictures from past reviews of other customers. Ooooo this place is cute!! I love rolled ice cream but not more than my kids, haha We stopped by here in the night time and this is where the beach strip is but in the cut. You have to pay for parking to go to any store on the strip but they have park mobile which makes it easier. There was a long line when we came there but I see why! Their ice cream was well worth the pricing. And the staff was very nice too! They had a good amount of options to choose from. My daughter got the death by chocolate ice cream and she said that is her new favorite if she goes into another rolled ice cream shop. If you are craving something sweet? Go here. I went to the sweet Charlie's tonight off Rehoboth avenue at the request of my 12 year old son and his friend, specifically to get the Dubai chocolate. I ordered one for them to share as well as an ice cream for my two year old who was tired and a bit fussy. I told the cashier they were sharing and asked for an extra cup, which she promptly handed me. I didn't realize how large my two year olds ice cream would be, so I asked them for a second extra cup. The girl turned to a bearded man with a heavy accent who appeared to have some authority, and asked if it was ok to give me one. He turned around angrily and said, "What's the problem?" When I asked again for an extra cup for the ice cream, he said, " you have one in your hand why you need another one?" I explained the first cup was for the $18 Dubai chocolate I just purchased. He said, "we charge $1 for cups! Do you really need another one?" I ended up just using the boys extra cup to dole out a small manageable scoop of ice cream for my daughter and walked out. I have never experienced such blatant rudeness from a business owner. Another woman stopped me on my way out and said, "I heard how he treated you, I'm so sorry he was not kind." After I told my husband, he promptly went in and was given an extra cup (without any question) as well as the bottle of water that they forgot to give me. I am not sure if it was a sexist thing or not, however I would not recommend spending a penny there. Also- the Dubai chocolate tasted cheap- not worth $18 at all. The Ice cream is delicious! The flavor is decadent and not watered down. They also put a decent amount of toppings on the ice cream. You might be wondering why I put a positive note but a pretty bad review, well the employee that made my ice cream rushed through the process of making it. Instead of rolls I got folds. This family operated ice cream shop is awesome! They make frozen roll up ice cream out of a base and toppings. The prices are reasonable and watching them make it adds to the experience. We chose to come here specifically because they had vegan options. It was clear that they took care to separate dairy and non dairy, plus they knew which toppings were vegan or not. It was really nice to have multiple options! I also thought it tasted good - it wasn't overly sugary sweet. The toppings complemented the ice cream perfectly! (But if u want sweet, u can definitely take it there with all the syrup and topping options they have!) We came with as a family - a large group who never had this type of ice cream. So none of us really understood how to order and they were really patient with us even though we took forever. I finally found rolled ice cream again!!! So happy we stumbled across this place while walking around the neighboring beach town. The flavors were great (the strawberry cheesecake frozen yogurt rolled ice cream was AMAZING), the toppings were heaped on (and unlimited choices, yayy!!), and the people working there were really friendly. So, I love the novelty of this - pick your base (once cream, frozen yogurt, or vegan), pick cup or donut, pick your flavors (pre-made combinations or make your own), watch them make it before your eyes, and finally top it off any and all complimentary toppings. They had some great sounding combinations - we chose Love Park (peanut butter pretzels and chocolate sauce), Monkey See Monkey Do (banana and Nutella), SoCal (acai, honey, coconut, and banana). None of us were adventurous enough to opt for the donut though. It was fun to watch them make the ice cream, which is crazy labor intensive, so kudos to the staff for being so friendly and nice throughout the entire process. Personally, I thought the ice cream was a tad too sweet and not as creamy as I would have liked. Staff was lovely, ice cream was okay, a little icier than normal ice cream and THANK YOU for having vegan options! I got Vegan base with mint oreo mix in and topped with coconut and oreo. It was $7 which is a little insane for a bowl of ice cream, next time I'll get the mini cup. Toppings are unlimited but I doubt the syrups are vegan and the marshmallows are regular ones (not gelatin free) but vegans still have lots of options with fruits and nuts and coconut. An interesting new take on ice cream from Sweet Charlie's, a Philly-based company offering Thai-style rolled ice cream. Rolled ice cream, you ask? Yep, you read that correctly - rolled ice cream. The very nice staff starts off by putting the ingredients onto a cold surface, over which the ice cream base is poured. Chopping and mixing ensues, until forming a smooth mixture. It's then spread out onto the big round cold plate, freezing instantly. The rolling then begins, spatula pushing from the edge across the surface, creating the roll. Five rolls later, they're all placed into a cup, and you can then increase the decadence factor with an unlimited choice of toppings. I had a chocolate and nutella combination, with even more chocolate and nutella spread over the mixture before rolling, then added some oreos, whipped cream, and sprinkles on top. The ice cream was good, but I have to say that I found it hard to eat, since it was hard to get through the rolls with a plastic spoon. As I was maneuvering my way around, the rolls lost their form, basically looking more like scooped ice cream by the time I was half-way through. Perhaps there's a trick I don't know (like being patient and waiting for the rolls to temper a bit), but technique aside, it's a nice summer treat. I still prefer places like Bruster's or Cold Stone, but Sweet Charlie's is worth checking out, just to do something different - and the kids will love watching their rolls being made right before their eyes! read more

I had wanted to try rolled ice cream for a while, and decided to treat myself on a recent trip to the beach! I wasn't disappointed. Such a fun (and yes, totally instagrammable) experience watching your ice cream being made, and the 'Smore Please' I ordered was delicious! I was equally impressed by the excellent customer service from the establishment as a whole - about a month after I visited, I noticed another charge on my credit card for Sweet Charlie's. I reached out via their website and within a few hours, received a call from one of the owners of the company, apologizing profusely and explaining that there was some sort of software glitch they were dealing with. The situation was quickly resolved after that. What a great way to run a company! I'm looking forward to returning on my next trip to Rehoboth (and wish they'd open a location slightly closer to DC - hint hint!) read more

Delicious rolled ice cream! It was a little bit different than what I was used to from the rolled ice cream shops in Pittsburgh, but was still very tasty! I loved the fact that you can get unlimited toppings without the extra charge. The hardest part was deciphering the menu! I felt that it was very confusing and the workers weren't able to explain it well. I had the strawberry shortcake flavor, but didn't get to pick anything that went in it.
