This ice cream is a work of art. The making of the "ice cream roll" is so satisfying. There was a line when we got there but the staff is quick to make the ice cream so it moves fast. You pick the base and the mix ins. And then you get whatever toppings you want once they make your ice cream. read more

Absolutely horrible staff. We specifically requested GF and advised the staff of a serious allergy. Subsequently we found out that what he was served (handed by staff) it was not GF. The staff then became rude and blamed the child. Disgusting! read more

Really nice staff and delicious ice cream. We stopped here for a treat real quick and they roll the ice cream in front of you. It's a very cute place and based on the other reviews, looked like an excellent find! The only reason I didn't rate 5 stars was because they gave us very little toppings. That was the only drawback since the menu said "unlimited toppings." We only received a tiny plop of strawberries in comparison to some of the pictures from past reviews of other customers. But other than that, it was great :) read more

Very good! Kiddos loved it, duhh!! Could've used some more toppings but that's on me! Need to try the choco strawberries

Ooooo this place is cute!! I love rolled ice cream but not more than my kids, haha We stopped by here in the night time and this is where the beach strip is but in the cut. You have to pay for parking to go to any store on the strip but they have park mobile which makes it easier. There was a long line when we came there but I see why! Their ice cream was well worth the pricing. And the staff was very nice too! They had a good amount of options to choose from. My daughter got the death by chocolate ice cream and she said that is her new favorite if she goes into another rolled ice cream shop. If you are craving something sweet? Go here. They even have outside seating which is nice and they had some Cute decor where we took some touristy pictures haha will come back for sure! read more

Watch ice cream being rolled right before your eyes. Customers get to choose what type of mix in's they want with their vanilla ice cream. Everything is prepared through the clear window and you can watch all your mix ins be chopped, smeared, then rolled. Choose to have your ice cream in a cup or on a glazed donut sliced in half. Then after your ice cream is rolled and dished, you can request whatever toppings to put on top (kinda like a sundae). The staff was friendly. It's a little pricey but you're at the beach so everything is high. We tried flavors Monkey See Monkey Do, Namaste, Love Park, and Kiss & Tell. All the flavors were great. Must try if you want something different than soft serve. read more

Love love love coming here! Rolled ice cream is so fun and it was delicious. The guys working here were so sweet to our little daughter who has a dairy allergy. She loved her dairy-free ice cream and we were thankful for the option. We love sitting outside at the tables nestled in the pavilion here-- it poured while we were there and we were able to be covered while we ate. We will definitely be coming back! Yum! read more

The ice cream was great! The toppings were super fresh (cutting up strawberries and bananas to order). And the people were SO nice! We had our 3 and 5 year old kids with us, and the folks there made our kids feel special and that this really was a special treat. This is now our go-to ice cream spot in town. read more

I went to the sweet Charlie's tonight off Rehoboth avenue at the request of my 12 year old son and his friend, specifically to get the Dubai chocolate. I ordered one for them to share as well as an ice cream for my two year old who was tired and a bit fussy. I told the cashier they were sharing and asked for an extra cup, which she promptly handed me. I didn't realize how large my two year olds ice cream would be, so I asked them for a second extra cup. The girl turned to a bearded man with a heavy accent who appeared to have some authority, and asked if it was ok to give me one. He turned around angrily and said, "What's the problem?" When I asked again for an extra cup for the ice cream, he said, " you have one in your hand why you need another one?" I explained the first cup was for the $18 Dubai chocolate I just purchased. He said, "we charge $1 for cups! Do you really need another one?" I ended up just using the boys extra cup to dole out a small manageable scoop of ice cream for my daughter and walked out. I have never experienced such blatant rudeness from a business owner. Another woman stopped me on my way out and said, "I heard how he treated you, I'm so sorry he was not kind." After I told my husband, he promptly went in and was given an extra cup (without any question) as well as the bottle of water that they forgot to give me. I am not sure if it was a sexist thing or not, however I would not recommend spending a penny there. Also- the Dubai chocolate tasted cheap- not worth $18 at all. I ended up throwing the ice cream away because the experience left a very bad taste in my mouth. read more

Really crowded and busy and the whole process took almost 30 mins. Stand in a line to place your order and pay and then stand in another line until they call your name. The Ice cream is delicious! The flavor is decadent and not watered down. They also put a decent amount of toppings on the ice cream. You might be wondering why I put a positive note but a pretty bad review, well the employee that made my ice cream rushed through the process of making it. Instead of rolls I got folds. In the picture below you may think that the ice cream is alright but the ice cream looked terrible in person. She made everything sloppy. Other than all of the negative things the ice cream is good! read more

This family operated ice cream shop is awesome! They make frozen roll up ice cream out of a base and toppings. The prices are reasonable and watching them make it adds to the experience. We chose to come here specifically because they had vegan options. It was clear that they took care to separate dairy and non dairy, plus they knew which toppings were vegan or not. It was really nice to have multiple options! I also thought it tasted good - it wasn't overly sugary sweet. The toppings complemented the ice cream perfectly! (But if u want sweet, u can definitely take it there with all the syrup and topping options they have!) We came with as a family - a large group who never had this type of ice cream. So none of us really understood how to order and they were really patient with us even though we took forever. If they were annoyed, they didn't let it show Next time I'm at Rehoboth, I'm definitely going to stop by again! read more

Love everything about it. Great customer service, vegan and gf options. I had cookie dough with strawberries and it certainly hit the spot.

This evening my family and i took a trip to get some ice cream from "sweet charlie's," as we were being served we were treated with arrogance by a gentleman. my family was disrespected brutally by said man. i do not reccomend brining your family here if you are looking for fast and friendly service. we are very dissatisfie and disappointed in the customer service at this place of business. read more

I finally found rolled ice cream again!!! So happy we stumbled across this place while walking around the neighboring beach town. The flavors were great (the strawberry cheesecake frozen yogurt rolled ice cream was AMAZING), the toppings were heaped on (and unlimited choices, yayy!!), and the people working there were really friendly. The guy making our ice cream even walked us through what he was doing which was a first. If I lived closer I would be back.. every other day?? Thank goodness for my waistline that I have to drive for hours to get here but if I'm ever in Rehoboth again I will be making a stop by. This would have gotten a perfect 5 stars except the hours are kind of a bummer. Who opens at 4pm on a weekend??? Like when you're at the beach you want ice cream... accessible ALL THE TIME! I was THAT person... sitting outside waiting for Sweet Charlie's to open to get my hands on some rolled ice cream. And while I was sitting there at least 10 people walked up, tried to open the door and was so confused as to why they were the only store in the entire block to still be closed?? At least open at noon! read more

Whoa this place was busy. It took forever to get through the line but the product was good and watching the process was fun. Kind of pricey though! read more

So, I love the novelty of this - pick your base (once cream, frozen yogurt, or vegan), pick cup or donut, pick your flavors (pre-made combinations or make your own), watch them make it before your eyes, and finally top it off any and all complimentary toppings. They had some great sounding combinations - we chose Love Park (peanut butter pretzels and chocolate sauce), Monkey See Monkey Do (banana and Nutella), SoCal (acai, honey, coconut, and banana). None of us were adventurous enough to opt for the donut though. It was fun to watch them make the ice cream, which is crazy labor intensive, so kudos to the staff for being so friendly and nice throughout the entire process. Personally, I thought the ice cream was a tad too sweet and not as creamy as I would have liked. I'm not sure I could see myself eating this regularly but it made for a fun experience that everyone has to have at least once. read more

Staff was lovely, ice cream was okay, a little icier than normal ice cream and THANK YOU for having vegan options! I got Vegan base with mint oreo mix in and topped with coconut and oreo. It was $7 which is a little insane for a bowl of ice cream, next time I'll get the mini cup. Toppings are unlimited but I doubt the syrups are vegan and the marshmallows are regular ones (not gelatin free) but vegans still have lots of options with fruits and nuts and coconut. Staff was so nice, friendly, and they work HARD rolling out the ice cream. read more

An interesting new take on ice cream from Sweet Charlie's, a Philly-based company offering Thai-style rolled ice cream. Rolled ice cream, you ask? Yep, you read that correctly - rolled ice cream. The very nice staff starts off by putting the ingredients onto a cold surface, over which the ice cream base is poured. Chopping and mixing ensues, until forming a smooth mixture. It's then spread out onto the big round cold plate, freezing instantly. The rolling then begins, spatula pushing from the edge across the surface, creating the roll. Five rolls later, they're all placed into a cup, and you can then increase the decadence factor with an unlimited choice of toppings. I had a chocolate and nutella combination, with even more chocolate and nutella spread over the mixture before rolling, then added some oreos, whipped cream, and sprinkles on top. The ice cream was good, but I have to say that I found it hard to eat, since it was hard to get through the rolls with a plastic spoon. As I was maneuvering my way around, the rolls lost their form, basically looking more like scooped ice cream by the time I was half-way through. Perhaps there's a trick I don't know (like being patient and waiting for the rolls to temper a bit), but technique aside, it's a nice summer treat. I still prefer places like Bruster's or Cold Stone, but Sweet Charlie's is worth checking out, just to do something different - and the kids will love watching their rolls being made right before their eyes! read more

My kids really wanted to try Sweet Charlie's and with their dairy free options for me, I was excited. The flavor choices were unique and the unlimited add-on's were a bonus. My kids said theirs was good. Once had Death by Chocolate and one had Kiss and Tell. I had Birthday Cake (vegan) and it tasted like medicine and had a very unpleasant after taste. It was a unique experience but the kids vote for Kohr's Bros. next time. read more

I had wanted to try rolled ice cream for a while, and decided to treat myself on a recent trip to the beach! I wasn't disappointed. Such a fun (and yes, totally instagrammable) experience watching your ice cream being made, and the 'Smore Please' I ordered was delicious! I was equally impressed by the excellent customer service from the establishment as a whole - about a month after I visited, I noticed another charge on my credit card for Sweet Charlie's. I reached out via their website and within a few hours, received a call from one of the owners of the company, apologizing profusely and explaining that there was some sort of software glitch they were dealing with. The situation was quickly resolved after that. What a great way to run a company! I'm looking forward to returning on my next trip to Rehoboth (and wish they'd open a location slightly closer to DC - hint hint!) read more

Great ice cream and even better service! As I was talking around, I noticed this ice cream shop and decided to check it out. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by one of the employees who explained the menu to me and gave me some recommendations. While one of the servers took my order, he was very friendly and made conversation with me. After he finished making my ice cream, he wanted to see me take the first bite and give him my feedback. Delicious rolled ice cream! It was a little bit different than what I was used to from the rolled ice cream shops in Pittsburgh, but was still very tasty! I loved the fact that you can get unlimited toppings without the extra charge. The hardest part was deciphering the menu! I felt that it was very confusing and the workers weren't able to explain it well. I had the strawberry shortcake flavor, but didn't get to pick anything that went in it. I only was able to pick the toppings which I felt was a little odd. I thought I would be able to pick my cream base (chocolate or vanilla) and then pick what I wanted to be in my mixture! I guess the style was just a little different, but the ice cream was still very good!! read more
