I love foxy nails and have been coming here for years. After soaking in only slightly warm water for way too long, Today's pedicure seemed rushed. I asked for the gel deluxe pedicure hoping that I would get a really good scrubbing. Only so so. I'll be back and hopefully next time will be better. read more

i love! will most definitely be going back. Don was so gentle on the hands and made great conversation! He also helped me pick out what I wanted! read more

Foxy Nails - nails by Don - Nail Salons Near Me - Reno, Nevada

You know when leave a pedicure appointment and just love how smooth your feet are and how lovely the nail polish looks? Well I didn't get that today. I walked out feeling like I was duped..... I have been here a few times before and both times had a very rude gal but she gave me the BEST spa pedicure and it lasted for over 3 weeks. (I miss her) I called a few days ago to make an appointment and I today when I got there they gave me a gal named Cindy. Nice enough but she took only 20 minutes doing my pedicure. I paid for the Spa Pedicure, the most expensive one and she didn't even take the rough skin all my feet. When she was walking away, I told her that my big toe didn't have even amount of polish on it and there were two toes that also looked horrible. (Mind you I am 50 years old and I didn't even have my glasses on and I noticed it) She had already put the top coat on all my nails but then she tired to just put color on top of that. It was a Sh&%show. By the time the owner came over, he started to do the same thing, to cover up the mistakes by painting polish color over the messed up job. I just wanted to get out of there at this point because the whole pedicure went very downhill after that. This place is very clean and I usually get good service. Not sure if Cindy is new, but I am surprised that the owner didn't really do anything regarding this situation. Now I have to redo them for my event tomorrow. ugh. read more

I went in with a set of acrylics that I wanted filled. The guy did not understand a word I said. Now I'm stuck with my short natural ugly nails and gel because I could not communicate with him. Totally frustrated read more

I will never EVER go back or recommend this place to anyone I know. She went through my nail with the electric file so that I yelled out in pain. I was supposed to get a manicure but ended the service there and they still had the audacity to charge me for "taking off the gel". read more

i love this place so much! been coming here for years now and they never fail to go above and beyond my expectations.

I never leave reviews but compelled to do so after a horrible gel manicure. She drilled off my gel manicure so much so that my healthy nails are so thin now and one is cracked in middle of my nail bed. I only get gel a couple of times a year so my nails were good long and healthy before I went in. She drilled so much that is will take months for my nails to grow strong and long. Horrible. She had no idea what she was doing. She even filed my finger tips. She put gel all along my cuticles. Hoping it wears off soon. Stay away. read more

Prompt, extremely professional staff and service. Corrected another manicurists HORRIBLE set of acrylics. Definitely going back!

My mom and I came across fancy nails online and they were able to schedule us together that day. (What?) My mom absolutely loved her manicure and the pedicure was top notch! I even got a wild hair during my pedicure and decided at the last minute to try to get a full set of nails and wirh a little luck BAM! they were able to accommodate that too. Needless to say I would definitely recommend this salon. Duan gave me the best gel set I have ever had. Very talented indeed! read more

Will not go back. Gel is too thick and bumpy, crap is all around the outside of my nailbeds. Lady was not very friendly and kept walking away to look at her friends phone. read more

A pretty nice place ... not sure how "foxy" it is, but it's definitely nice :) I came here with a friend for a pampering pedicure. There's just something special about relaxing in a comfy vibrating chair, having someone rub your feet and then leaving with sparkly toes. It's especially wonderful when shared with a friend. Some places have better massage chairs than others, some give better foot rubs, some use aromatherapy oils, and some excel with a nail polish application that seems to last for weeks and weeks. I haven't yet found a place that brings it all together perfectly, but, I do enjoy most pedicure places ... just for different reasons. For me, Foxy's was about the massage. It was thorough, rough when it needed to be, with just enough pressure and knuckle to make me hold back a moan. Also liked the scrub product they used that left my feet feeling slippery smooth. Would definitely return to Foxy's if I find myself in Reno again ... read more

We've been coming here for years, and we love it. The place is gorgeous, and the people are so nice. I will never, ever have my nails done anyplace else! I hesitate to divulge this information as it could blow up in my face...aka they'll be booked next time I need an appt. Lol. But Tina is the BEST at pedicures/ manicures. I will not have have anyone but her do them for me. Earlier this year they took a trip to Vietnam for a month- and I actually waited for them to come back and do my nails- rather than just go someplace else. If you want a set, then you want Don. He's awesome! And Johanna does great eyebrows! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because there is a dog groomers next door and it can be very annoying to be trying to relax and listen to animals howling and screaming through the wall. That, and I think they share the same water supply so when they've been busy- hot water for the pedicure is hard to come by. Last time that happened Tina got a huge bucket and went and got hot water from the bathroom I believe...so that I could have hot water. :) These lovely people: Don, Tina, Johanna, Laura, Mike, etc these people will become your friends. They talk to you, instead of speaking to each other in a language most of us don't understand. Which makes you more comfortable because you don't have to secretly worry that they are talking about you. LOL. Come here once, and they'll remember your name the next time you come back... read more

There's a nail salon on every corner, right? Let me tell you - this is not those places. They have a huge amount of regulars and there's a reason for that. Higher quality products, long term, consistent, friendly staff, complimentary beer or wine with your pedi, sugar scrub, hot towel wraps, reflexology massage - all at a bargain price of $35 for the deluxe pedi! You pay $95 for the same at the spa. Here's another thing: I know the owner - she cares. She's been there for 14 years and her main concern is the customer experience. She continues to look for ways to improve and has recently added eyelash extensions to her existing offerings of all nail care, facials and waxing. Same prices as all the run-of-the-mill nail places but a much better experience! (Worth the drive to South Reno). read more

First of all, nail and hair salon services here in the Reno area are over priced compared to those in California. With that said, I believe this nail salon was the best priced. It is however, located far down S. Virginia street, pass the airport. In short this is what makes the place great: -well priced. mani+pedi = $38 full set is = $28 pink and white tips = $30 fill is $20-25 mani = $15? white tips added = +$5 on each hand -the staff is quiet and shy at first, but when properly engaged, they are super friendly and sweet. -the physical place is nice and clean. the decor is good and the equipment for the pedicures are awesome! i got a nice massage while i was waiting for a friend :) -the actual service is good too. although i got a full set with pink and white tips, my guy worked very fast on my hands (I did happen to go in an hour before closing) and it kinda hurt too :-/ but all in all, he was still cool and my nails look fabulous! go get your nails done here! read more

This place is REALLY nice inside! I was shocked, considering it's way down Viriginia nestled in a strip mall next to an outdoor gardening store and BJ's Liquors... Johanna is the owner, she's a Vietnamese gal from Laguna Beach, so she knows how to do things right! I got a spa mani pedi, and the massages were really nice and long, for $38, and my eyebrows waxed. She also does facials and uses Dermologica products. I was very happy to go here, and would highly recommend it! read more

Unsanitary and unsafe practice. I went in for a basic pedicure and the woman that worked on me didn't have her mask over her nose, only wore one glove the entire service, used dirty nail files and a used foot scrubber on me. She continued to do so after I told her not to used them on me. The massage was the worst I've ever had, as she scratched me with her ungloved nails. Barf! As I was drying, she drained the water and replaced the liner without sanitizing the foot bowl. I'm absolutely repulsed by this place! The health department is past due to visit this place! read more

Pedicure time again! My boyfriend & I were in south Reno so we picked the salon closest to us. We made a reservation for two and they got us in right on time. The staff members didn't really go out of their way to talk to us but a great pedicure made up for it! The color I picked turned out really good, they added a white flower on my big toes with a rhinestone which I thought looked so cute! I was also really impressed by the massage. Neither I or my boyfriend had ever had such a long foot/leg massage during a pedicure so we might be going back just for that. :) Thanks Foxy Nails! read more

I am new to the Reno area and I was looking for a good salon for mani/pedis. I read reviews and this place looked promising. I made an appointment for 5 pm and got there 5 minutes early. Everyone was busy at the time I walked in so I was told to pick my color. I was then told to take a seat in the last chair. When I got in the pedi chair, the water was barely lukewarm. One of the guys came by about 5 minutes later and told me it would be just a few more minutes. He adjusted my water and walked away. 30 minutes later I'm still sitting waiting for service. I walked out and barely got a "sorry". What's the point of making an appointment and calling ahead if I'm just going to sit and wait? HORRIBLE service! read more

Walked into get my nails filled. I've been here before and I've never had a problem with walking in. They called me back started doing my nails asked me if I had an appointment after they had already talk to the other two girls that walked in after me who had appointments. And told me I would have to wait To finish getting my nails done so they could help the other people with appointments. Don't call me back and start doing my nails if you can't take me at that time. read more

Not very impressed and won't be returning. The atmosphere was great and the staff is nice but I paid $60 for something i really didn't want. I can in with a variety of photos I'd liked. I didn't even what it to be exact just to show ideas of what I liked. I was told I could only get solid colors. I don't want solid colors, I'd paint them myself if that was the case... So I talk the lady into doing a design on my ring fingers. She tells me only the ring fingers, not all. Um, ok. If I hadn't waited there an hour and didn't have my boyfriend and family friends waiting to go to dinner once I got back, I would have went elsewhere. So she finishes and it's okay, but once I walked out I really looked at them and to me it looks like my nails have grown out. Ever my boyfriend was disappointed in them. :/ read more

I went in for waxing; bikini and underarm. Leena (sp?) was pleasant enough, but she went too far on one side of Bikini wax, it was more painful than usual so I didn't get the other side matched to those farther limits... disappointing considering I still paid full price regardless of outcome (it's not cheap). Underarm was fine. Make sure to communicate clearly and firmly agree on your plan before getting started. read more

This place was nice.... i just moved up to reno and i needed to get my nails done... so sure enough i yelped all the nail places and this one seemed the best so i went......... i got a full set for 30 and my thumb is a little messed up but everything else is good. The guy that helped me was Don. He was very friendly and actually talked to me and didn't just talk in vietnamese to his co workers. I had never got my nails done by a guy before but i must admit he did a decent job. I would recommend this place......... but it is out in the middle of nowhere! =D read more

I have been going to Foxy nails for years now. I have even survived a change in ownership and thank goodness for that!! They did a good job before, but the place itself was not a relaxing, enjoyable atmosphere. With the owner came a wonderful renovation. I have defected a few times and tried other places, but always come back to Foxy Nails. The prices really can't be beat for the quality. The pedicures are fabulous! I get my eyebrows waxed by the owner and honestly, they have never looked better! Also, I have never had a problem getting in when I need too. It is kinda wierd though that next door is a dog grooming place, so sometimes you hear dogs barking... read more

Just had the best pedicure I've had in Reno. They offered me a beverage. I was asked to close my eyes and relax. The massage was great. A pedi runs for about $25 and a premium pedi at $35. It's a classic chop shop type place, but value for the service. The nail technicians were not gossiping and chatting the whole time. What a relief! They have an autoclave for cleaning the tools too. Will come back. read more

I LOVE FOXY NAILS! My mom started coming here before me and seeing Joanne for her acrylic manicures and fills. She always does a professional, beautiful job. I personally love Nick. I'm a little bit more boring and go for the standard manicure they offer. He has a great sense of humor and makes the experience fun. Not to mention he gives a killer massage that's worth the money itself. Although those are the favorites for my mom and I, any manicurist you get will do exactly what you want and leave you satisfied with your experience. They are very clean (which is what I always look for first), the staff wears uniforms, and they always have good music playing. I'm very loyal to Foxy Nails and I know they value and appreciate my business. You won't be disappointed! read more

Foxy nails was recommended by a friend for their amazing pedicure massages. Let me tell you, they did not disappoint!! I was practically drooling by the end of my pedicure. For some reason it's becoming more and more difficult to find a nail salon that caters to exactly what customers go there for-relaxation. They were prompt and even attended us before our scheduled appointment. The massage chairs were comfortable and every technician was wearing gloves. The atmosphere is comforting and classy compared to other salons in Reno. There is ambient music playing and the tv is muted so you are able to actually relax if you want to. The technicians even wear uniforms which adds to the overall appeal. The only downside and the reason for the 4 star rating is that there is a pet grooming business next door. The dogs can get loud, which can be distracting but the technician made a hilarious joke about it so it put everyone in a good mood. 100% recommend! read more

Very friendly and accommodating! I called in on a Saturday afternoon to see if they could fit me in and welcomed me to come right away! I got a basic gel pedicure and a fill. They recommended I get gel instead of acrylic and I am so glad I did! The quality and attention to detail was fabulous! I felt truly cared for and it was a pleasant experience! read more

THEY DESTROYED MY FEET, DURING A PEDICURE!!! The bottom of my feet were so torn up and raw, I had trouble walking for two days, and my feet were sore for a week! I love Foxy Nails. The quality of the gel and acrylic nails, and their attention to detail is unparalleled. I hate it when I go somewhere and my nails are unevenly filed or something, but that never happens here. I have been going to Foxy Nails ever since they opened (7 years ago), and am still loving it. The staffs are nice and professional, their works are always exceptional, and the atmosphere is relaxing. They always try to fit me in regardless of my busy work schedule. I am in love with their massage chairs and the way the massage is done with the spa pedicure. I have tried all the services here, including mani, pedi, acrylic nails, gel nails, waxing, facial, and let me tell you I have never been disappointed. After several years of seeing the great work done on my boss' nails, I finally scheduled to have a gel set done. Wow!! Not only was my preferred time available, every technician was very welcoming when I came through the door. Several visits later I am still amazed and impressed when I come through the door. No matter the time of my appointment everyone is always friendly, knows my name, and I have never waited longer than 5 minutes for my technician. I have always sat at Vincent's station. This man is a great and talented artist!! My nails always look fabulous, and they never break!! (Even after 5 weeks bowling and no fill!!) I would, and do, recommend and refer people to Foxy Nails every day. Location and price are great, and quality is spectacular! read more
