I've been going here for years. Mrs. Fox was a great woman and always so friendly. During the South Side Parade, they serve pizza by the slice and have great Irish entertainment. The week of St. Patrick's Day, they have new Irish entertainment every night. The staff are always friendly and the food is great. The pizza is a classic Chicago thin crust and is amazing! Thought I had the wrong number, gave her a couple chances to use correct phone script , she just kept giggling. I had to ask"is this Fox's?" I needed something to warm me up and this was a familiar choice. Not a lot going on at lunch time. So I should have been over served. I got the corn beef on marbled rye. As the menu said. I was asked what my two sides were. Fries and slaw. I get my plate and the first thing I notice is the bread. Maybe the marbles were in the menu writers head? Because it was just rye. Nice and moist though. As I am eating I realize that I don't have any slaw. I am sitting there in a quite empty dining room looking for my waitress.It was easier to get her attention before I ordered. I finally get the slaw and a refill. They must have put it through a grinder because it was more like mash. The sandwich was right on the money though! So I am waiting for the bill that I asked for twice. I should have started when I sat down, because it took longer to get to the table than the food. As I am walking to my car I see that someone had double parked behind me. I was the only one lucky enough for this to happen to. I walk back in and ask who had the blue Saturn? So they know that it's the delivery guy and this kid comes strolling out after 5 mintutes with a shitty look on his face. Doesn't say anything except with his expression. This is my first review EVER. Fox's has been around for as long as I can remember having grown up in Beverly. I ordered a veggie pizza today and it was DISGUSTING. The worst pizza I've ever had. The WORST. When I called to inquire about what may have gone wrong, the phone was given to the manager and she said that she was sorry I didn't like it, but the sauce was made by the same guy whose been making it for 45 years...that could very well be the problem. Either way, there was no attempt to make it right or salvage the reputation or relationship. Every business has an off day or two, that's normal, but the lack or care or attention to customer service is pathetic. I'm sure Fox's will live on, I hope they do, but it will not be a result of my choice to spend money on a place that doesn't care about their customers, reputation and product. I have been going to Fox's pizza for over 30 years. Pizza is my favorite. I have owned a home in the neighborhood since 2003 and have either dined in or ordered on average 3X a month since...first review I can recall ever on Yelp but I never thought I would do a negative review on anybody. Waitresses at Fox's have been amazing over the years..Dana, Wendy, Marge...All great, I estimate I have spent over $50,000 here but have never received as much as a free drink. No Shit. Place is dear to my heart but a complete dysfunctional shit-hole. Phone staff for any order seems like they are trained to be rude. Delivery guys slightly better but THEY believe they deserve better access to very limited parking than patrons. I got a gift card for my birthday for Fox's from sister in law and tried to redeem at Beverly location...Dunce at counter could not figure out why it would not work and when I demanded manager, that complete fool informed me that that gift card is only good at Oak Lawn location or some such garbage. She was literally arguing with me as I was paying her. This place just a NO SHOW on service. Literally have spent about as much as I have said in review..this place sucks...parking stupid, management non existent, every aspect of business sucks...hepatitis waiting to happen as really disgustingly filthy. Have suffered my last slight at the hand of these people tonight...what a shame as pizza is really good. I will miss Fox's pizza but not the complete lack of customer service or the lack of management...dysfunctional family business and they should sell or consolidate. read more

Pizza used to be great years ago....now a little salty...the customer service has gotten worse with snappy call takers and counter folks that lost the personality...kindness...and civility that made this place a Beverly gem. Classic example of business that forgot its roots....no wonder milanos and baraccos are passing them up. My advice go back to your basics...more detail to how you prepare your food and be friendlier to customers especially on the phone. read more

Will never order pizza from here again. We brought the family size home and it was dried out, had very little cheese or tomato sauce on it and pretty much tasted horrible. Paid over $26.00 for terrible pizza. Will stick with Palermo's and Milano's from now on. read more

I visited the new location in Hinsdale on York rd. and had a great experience. It appears they have hired a top notch wait staff who were right on top of our needs. Our server, Joe, did a great job with our party. The pizza was great as usual, but I had the rib-eye steak sandwich and give it two thumbs up. I think they get that you have to employ high energy qualified people to make a new business as this one succeed. I am sure they will be around for a long time. read more

I used to go to Fox's in the early 90's while I was driving a Limo and decided to return last night after 25 years for a late sandwich after a concert downtown. The Beef sandwich and garlic tomato bread were great as was our server, Mike. Don't let the bad reviews dissuade you from going here, as it is still very good just as it was 25 years ago. My husband and I ended up here during the St. Patrick's day parade on the southside. We had some really great pepperoni pizza - thin crust, greasy, crispy, great. The place was crazy busy due to the parade, and they had some fun live Irish musician there to entertain. When you order take out pizza or delivery it is just ok, however when you dine in the pizza is made in the back kitchen and taste like Indian food served in a diaper. current employee, i have been eating fox's for years, since i was young my favorite above all is the pepperoni and garlic cooked well done delicious also, the soups arre delicious as well as the grilled cheese and meatballs. and to this comment "Sometimes it's not all about the food. Over three years, sucking down slices of Fox's super-thin pizza with pop-up sausage and mushroom that tasted darn good to me. We'd order the puppy and take the 1/2 hour or so to make the round trip to 99th for the hot product inside a grease-soaked paper cover. Pretty good alternative to the not-universally loved deep dish pie Chi is known for best. One MAJOR problem: They don't deliver. Not that they don't deliver at all, just not to my house...or my neighborhood. For years, I guess I ignored the obvious. Restaurant redlining. Other shops will deliver to my house: Leona's & Waldo Cooney's. They get my money and support now. It's 2008. And you don't deliver to MY neighborhood. Ordered the garden pizza, it looked too good to eat but it had broccoli on it, It just didn't complement the other vegtables and it was mostly stems. stick to florets if you want to use broccoli. If I order another garden pizza I will definetly request to skip the broccoli. Also the cheese and suasage was great as always. read more

What I like most about Fox's is the camraderie of the bar tenders and staff. They make you feel at home. Lisa, Fran, Dan, and all the other bartenders create quality drinks while providing friendly talk. Ron, the chef, is a real artist who can make a butt steak melt in your mouth and taste almost like a filet and his pork chops are moist and yummy too. He also comes out to greet the customers. Yes, I feel at home when I go to Fox's and never leave hungry or disappointed! To the new manager I say this...if it isn't broken, don't try to fix it. I like it just the way it is!! read more

I was familiar with Fox's when I lived near Beverly. The Fox's in Hinsdale is not the Fox's in Beverly. The pizza at best is decent, but the service is deplorable. I won't go so far as to say it's everyone I talk to when I call in, but as the saying goes, "one bad apple spoils the whole bunch". That "one bad apple" would be Caroline. I called in to order a pizza, to order a decent pizza. I attempted to order the Fox's Special and substitute the mushrooms for pepperoni. After all, I had order this way before. It wasn't the fact that this option was taken off the menu (maybe it was). I had ordered it 20-25 times in the past (and I had), but after Caroline had taken my order, she read back my order listing the ingredients on the pizza and charging me a high price on half price Wednesday nights. It was a pizza other than "Fox Special". It wasn't until I asked her about this development that she told me. There were no recommendations to keep the price where I wanted. There was no explanation of her quoting a higher price. If you want a really good pizza in the Western Suburbs with the service to follow I suggest you go a little further west to Westmont on Cass Avenue, L & F Pizza. read more
