Having been to their Scottsdale location many times, I was interested in seeing their original location in Gilbert. It's nice and all but doesn't hold a candle or cigar to the one in Scottsdale which is much roomier and has a livelier vibe. The humidor here may be slightly larger but that's about it. The young fellow on humidor duty was pretty dismal considering his candid admission that he has only been smoking cigars for a couple of months unlike Brandon in Scottsdale who is a walking cigaropedia. Beyond that, the rest is pretty similar with identical lists of spirits and brews. There is more outdoor seating here in between the bar and members only lounge. Unfortunately it was a bit like going from the Sahara to Florida in August when the misters began their task of cooling down the sweltering heat while spiking the humidity to something akin to a monsoon. No reason to return here since I spend More time in Scottsdale but it's a great spot if it's in your neighborhood . read more

What to say, what to say...I don't have many words that can describe my love for this place. Hundreds of amazing alcohol choices - whiskey, bourbon, port, beer...you name it, they probably have it (or will be open to finding it). As far as beer goes (since that's my specialty), they have lots of local options and are constantly doing promos and events with breweries and cigar companies. Yes, it is usually a "sausage-fest" on any given night, but since I've been frequenting this place the past few months, I've noticed more and more women visiting; if not for the alcohol and cigars, then at least to accompany their husbands/boyfriends. It's a really friendly place, so women - please don't be deterred just because there are a lot of men there. The staff is knowledgeable about everything they sell, and there is always someone to keep the humidor running smoothly, so that even on event nights, there is never a long wait. I love that I can go in there with what limited smoke knowledge I have, ask whatever questions I need to, and always get an answer without any judgements or attitude. There is nothing snobby or pretentious about Fox Cigar Bar. They will even give you advice in regard to which drinks pair with which cigars (while still allowing you the freedom to make your own tasty decisions). While they don't serve food, many of the events they host include catered food, and there are some good restaurants around the area, so eat up before you go in. read more

Fox Cigar Bar is a must stop location for anyone who is looking for the nostalgic smoky bar that our grandparents used to go to. There is a great selection of cigars that range from the expensive (and hard to find) Opus or Padron to the low cost flavored cigarillos that any sultry dame would smoke. Fox has to have one of the best stocked bars in this state with what seems like hundreds of whiskeys, bourbons, beers, ports and everything else I don't have the memory to write about. The amazing, and super friendly, bartenders will make you anything on request and even offer you some of their own creative inventions. Prices on the alcohol are really affordable and won't leave your bank account empty the next day. Thursday, Friday and Saturday are the busiest time for the bar so make sure to get their early or you won't be able to sit in their leather chairs or at the bar (standing room only). It's not a huge deal either way because the dimly lit room has 7 tv's to keep you entertained or people from all walks of life to talk to. Go for the smoking. Go for the drinks. The staff was very friendly and informative, and led me to a cigar that was really nice to smoke. I bought more to take home to my wife. They also have a huge selection of drinks. I like this place for drinks and a cigar but had a poor experience with a gift card that was given to me. I received it late last year in October/November and of course covid hit so I did not go to use it until this week. When they went to try and run the gift card they then told me since that time this was bought they went to a new POS system and could not verify the amount on the card. Since they sold this card I fell they are still obligated to figure out how to use or to credit a new gift card that would work with this new POS system. They offered absolutely no assistance or support therefore I had the purchased pursue them to get their money back. I suggest you do not purchase gift cards here is this is the policy as who may get stuck with nothing like I did. read more

Let me start by saying I am from San Diego, and we have an array of excellent, high class cigar bars to choose from. With that said, Fox's takes the cake as the best cigar bar I have ever been to. The scotch/whisky/bourbon selection is nothing short of a masterpiece, with something for spirits lovers of all levels (at very competitive prices). High 5 for Fox Cigar Bar! I used to take the great circle route up to Roka Akor in Scottsdale for my Robatayaki, then over to Magnum's for my Cigar & Scotch Fix. (A 80 mile round trip) Now I just drive a few miles over to the Forum shopping center at Williams RD & Val Vista. Man it's like this shopping center was designed just for me. I can grab a good steak & beer at Harvey's, bitchin' burger & beer (BB&B) at Blue 32, or a Margarita & Mexican Food all inside the Forum before I tip into Fox's for a quality cigar & whiskey. Fox Cigar Bar is open for business! The newly renovated shop has a large glass enclosed humidor, a large bar area with bar stools, and cigar accessory sales. There are individual leather smoking chairs placed throughout the shop with plenty of ashtrays nearby. 7 - count 'em - 7 television screens hung on the walls, so you are sure to catch the game from anywhere in the shop. I am not sure if they are serving alcohol there, as their limited hours have left me peering in through the front door after 9 pm. The hours posted on the door are 10am - 9 pm Seven days a week. P.S. The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 - If more than 5-6 people are smoking inside, it's pretty thick with the smoke. Perhaps an improvement on the ventilation would help. OUTSTANDING! Cigar enthusiasts should make it a point to visit. Fox has a very large humidor and they use the space to present an excellent selection of cigars. I couldn't comment on the selection relative to other shops in the area but it blows away my favorite local shop back in Virginia Beach. The prices are very reasonable and they offer a box discount. Their staff is very knowledgeable and very willing to help with a recommendation. The smoking lounge is very comfortable and well appointed, it has (as the name implies) a full-service bar so you can enjoy a cup of coffee, a drink, beer, or wine. I did notice a selection of specialty bottled micro-brews. There are several flat-screen televisions inside and an outdoor area with seating, table service, a flat screen and several outdoor heaters fashioned like street lamps. Free wi-fi is available throughout. Lastly, I was very pleasantly surprised by an act of service that I never received from my favorite cigar shop from back in VA Beach (here in AZ for 7 months on temporary assignment). Essentially, they exchanged a couple of lighters that that come with an unconditional lifetime warranty. I noticed that they carried them, asked if they could facilitate shipping them back to the manufacturer for me as (this was the only service That the shop that sold them to me offered). With a large walk-in humidor and impressive number of taps, Fox will have a cigar and beer to suit your taste. They have indoor and outside seating, the latter under misters in the AZ heat. Don't worry. I smoke a pipe and had no trouble keeping it lit under the light vapor. The only thing missing is bar food--there's no grill. Look 70 plus reviews can't be wrong can they? NOPE! By far the best place to relax in the South East Valley if you enjoy craft beer, a fantasic selection of spirits and fine cigars. Not to mention you have a staff that goes out o f their way to make sure you get what you want. This past week I was hankering an old fashioned, and the bar tender not only made it to perfection but recommend a great rye to give it an amazing spiced flavor. While the interior at times can be smoky (shocking as its a cigar bar), for those that have friends or significant others that do not enjoy that (the smoke) the outdoor patio is large, has heaters and is the perfect place to unwind. I'm from Indianapolis and frequent a couple similar spaces as Fox. We enjoyed Fox a great deal but it falls short in a couple areas. 1. Since there were several couples, including me, sofas are always nice. Fox only has bar seating and some leather chairs. 2. The outdoor space is terrific and includes misters to keep the heat tolerable. But the hard, metal seating literally left marks on our behinds. Some cushions would be required before I smoked a two hour cigar out there. 3. Always a nice touch to offer mouth wash in the restrooms, even if it's in a vending machine. All in all, Fox is a nice place with GREAT potential for minimal expense from ownership. read more

I hit Fox's this weekend as I wanted to take my date somewhere local that had a good variety of scotch - based on the reviews that I had seen on here, this seemed the place to go! I'll be honest - I didn't smoke a cigar. ;) Not that I haven't before, but I'm in training and don't want to hack up a lung. From what I could tell, though, if you're a cigar smoker, this is the place to be. If you hate smoke - don't go there. If you can tolerate smoke - go check it out just because. There weren't very many women there, but there were a few (a whole table of them were sitting and smoking cigars - rock on!). So the good for me: The folks that worked there were super friendly and accomodating. There were no seats indoors, but they found some chairs and table outside for us. My bourbon manhattan was delicious (even w/o out the cherry!). My date enjoyed his scotch immensely - it was one he hadn't had before. It was a chill laid back atmosphere. So just some feedback on what would make this place 4-5 stars (in my book!): Update your website - I know you've been around for a while, but looks like it is still under construction. I would invest in tracking what kind of spirits you serve and document it. We were told you had over 50 varieties of scotch - but because we wanted to try something new, we couldn't make an informed decision. I know you're a cigar bar, but with that kind of liquor cabinet...Just saying. ;) Otherwise, I thought it was a great little place and I think it's cool that you cater to the cigar smokers in the valley. I've been to a handful of cigar shops in the Valley, and Fox takes the cake. Hands down. With a vast humidor that has more cigars than you could think of and an incredible bar to match. The staff is extremely friendly and very knowledgable of their tobacco and alcohol. Their prices on everything are very reasonable. I have noticed that the majority of their cigars range from $5-8 a piece. Now their alcohol is on the same page as their cigar selection. They literally have hundreds of whiskies, scotches, bourbons, tequilas, rums, etc. Not to mention the tap with a handful of craft and local beers. Sit down in one of their leather chairs and have a Gurkha, cognac infused cigar and sip a glass of scotch on the rocks. Don't worry about missing the game, they've got plenty of televisions with the game on. Don't be mistaken, this is NOT your dive bar to watch the game. This place is better, plus they don't' serve any food. Mitchell Fox (owner) is usually around, and even helped me out the other night. He gave some great ideas on cigars for guests for my upcoming wedding and was more than accommodating in what we were looking for. Every time I've gone there's a handful of people in there, usually middle aged men having a smoke and talking. Very nostalgic and what you would expect and old school cigar bar to be like. You'll find locals with their laptops getting some work done, men hanging out, fathers and sons getting together, and if you're as fortunate as I am... you'll be there with your fiancée enjoying a cigar and scotch.
