I recently had my car towed and they punctured one of my tires. Bastards! What do I do now? Lucky they are run-flat tires so I could still drive for a while on them. The con is that run-flats are NOT cheap can can cost $250-$350 to replace. I dropped off my car to Fountain Tire and went grocery shopping. They called me back after a few minutes and told me some great news. The puncture was fixable so I didn't need to replace a whole tire. They ended up fixing the tire for around $75 and I picked up my car within 1 1/2 hours. Very pleased with their efficiency and service! read more

If this is the one in Burnaby... I told em I wanted new rims to get mounted on my new snow tires, which I bought there. I mentioned they needed sensors to communicate with my computer. I believe the sensors are in the valve stem. Anyway... the Indian fellow, the manager? Owner? Says "no problem" Sensors did not work.. I drove to Mercedes and they say it's the sensors that are NFG. I drove back to fountain tire , recalibrated the sensors ... Good for 10 days and my dash board light says I have flat tires. Go here if you want your money stolen. I'll try to make this story short. - Went in to get my transmission fixed after paying an arm and a leg to get a rebuilt transmission, I get it back after a week and drive about 5km before the new transmission breaks in heavy traffic. - I get it towed back to the shop and they charge me for the tow truck and the extra work to fix the transmission that they should have got right in the first place - 9 months later my transmission fully fails on me again except now I've moved to a new city. I phone them up for the warranty and they explain I need to take it into a local transmission shop and have it shipped to them. I do this which costs me $500 to have it ripped out only to have Fountain Tire tell me it's not under warranty anymore and now I'm stuck with another $500 bill. All this time these guys contradicted themselves and lied to me about what they would do for me. My final advice, beware the friendly stranger as they will greet you with a smile then gladly take your money and laugh at you when you are gone. read more

I will start by saying that I have not and will not go to a tire shop to have work done on my car beyond tire work so the review before mine does not come into play in my review. I have now purchased two different sets of winter tires at this location. I first purchased a set of 4 tires for my old car and was very happy with their performance. They were amazing tires that gripped in the snow and ice amazingly. These were the brand that they recommended and they were not the most expensive (good sign). For my new car I went back to them as I had a good experience the last time. This time I already had two snow tires that came with my car so I needed to pick up two more (a lot of stores will not allow this as they will require you to buy 4 snow tires unless you have two of the exact same brand and model). There was no problem only getting two new ones and installing them on the front of the car. They also mounted and balanced my other tires for a very good price. Like I said this is a great place to purchase tires or have your tires installed on your car. I would not recommend them do other work after reading other reviews. read more

So I got a flat tire... And the reality was.. I really had no idea what to do. I normally go to Costco to buy tires but Costco is usually pretty busy and I really wanted my tires fixed ASAP. I ended up at this Fountain Tire because it's literally just blocks from where I live. I was impressed that it was super clean and everyone was very friendly. Getting your tires fixed is first come first serve so I was lucky to be there fairly early and they took me in right away. Unfortunately, I was told i had a slit in my tire that couldn't be repaired (which seemed to be in line with what my girlfriend told me when she changed my tire for me! lol). So rather than just repair the one, I ended up buying 4 new tires. Should say that I was advised that I should change the back 2 tires. The front 2 were at %20 but would probably need to be changed in about 6 months. But seeing as how the winter season was coming, I really wanted to change it all to feel secure. They gave me a couple of options. Also advising me that they could order in cheaper tires that would be ready for 1300. That's not bad! I was given choices! Actually, I think they told me there was a way to just replace the one tire but it wouldn't be a very good one (would be the same stock tire already on the car). Fountain Tire also gives out Air Miles. I wasn't aware of this so I didn't have my card with me. But they were so nice and said I could just call in with the card number and they would add it on for me. Yes it really sucks that I had to buy new tires!! But Fountain Tires made the experience just a little less painful. :) read more

I had a car-full of family and a battery that suddenly decided to quit. The car is unusable in this state. The guys at Fountain Tire 5850 Kingsway, Burnaby BC went above and beyond to get us back on the road in record time. I went to get my Toyoto venza inspected for a noise coming from my rear tire. They diagnosed that its the bearing which have worn out along with few other things like Rotors and brake shoe. I thought they are very competent and gave a heads up fix the issue.Paid more than 1000 bucks for it. After paying such a big money one can easily think of having assured that the prob would be 100% resolved. Well i think i was just dreaming. I started hearing the noise again and went back again 2 times and everytime they claim it to be fixed. But the prob is not yet over. I need to go back again. I have been fooled for my money or they are incompetent. Lessons learnt...if there is a big problem ...Rather get the car fixed from a dealer... read more

Not sure I would go back here. The tire technician did not show much care when driving and shifting my 25 year old car and dropped the car on the wheels much too quickly from the jack as the car has rubber air bag suspension rather than metal spring coils. The staff seemed friendly and what I paid for what I got was decent but based on what I've seen I would not have any work done here if they can't take simple care when dealing with an older high mile car that might be more delicate than they expect. read more
