I was driving my daughter to a medical appointment when the low tire light came on. Naturally I panicked, not only because I wasn't sure how to change a tire on the highway but also because this would put us late for the hospital appointment and these days, once you're late, it's hard to get a replacement appointment. I called my husband who uses Kal Tire commercially. I pulled in and they immediately ascertained the situation, and diagnosed I had four low tires, filled them and gave me recommendations going forward. They also looked to see if it was anything like a nail but it appeared to be just a case of me not knowing. And now I do and I know why my husband sent me there because they were awesome!! read more

Have done tire changes here in the past, and most recently fixed a flat tire from a random nail. They were fast and courteous.

What a great experience from these guys, very professional and organized with the current situation going on. The young girl who helped me out at the front counter was friendly and cheerful. When I finally got around to getting my car brought in, we could not find the locking lug. So they topped up all my tires with the proper pressure and fortunately my tire with the leak was a very slow one. I went home and fortunately found the Lugnut, or truth be told my wife found it. So I went back about 4 PM and they were kind enough to squeeze me in and got the situation taken care of. Back from my beginning comment, I must add that they were all very helpful and friendly too. I never bother writing a review, this is the first one. On a snowy day, my tire has a leaky valve, I hop over the store without any appointment... the store helped to fix it within half an hour! Had my car in about a year ago to repair flat tire and received wonderful service .. Last Saturday I had to take my wife's car in for flat repair and tire rotation .. Ashlyn booked me in and she was very helpful .. The work was done in quick time and the customer service was awesome .. Cody was very good at reviewing with me the work they had done .. There are lots of tire locations but I have to say Kal Tire Coquitlam really understand what customer service is all about ... I would go out of my way to deal with this great team . Although seemingly friendly - the staff there would not help me start a tire warranty process for a defective tire. Told me to bring it back to the car dealership, but I replied that I did not even purchase the tire there. Went on with a bogus excuse that it would take them too long to go through the warranty process. I then went to a competing shop literally across the street who helped me get a brand new replacement tire under the manufacturer warranty within 2 weeks. read more

The recent service I received here was terrific. I noticed a screw embedded in my tire just as I was supposed to leave town so I was waiting on their doorstep that morning. Once they opened I could see it was obviously an extremely busy day yet they squeezed me in, fixed my tire and sent me safely on my way with very little delay in my schedule. I have been a regular customer for a few years and was used to their good service but this was particularly helpful and I appreciated it very much. read more

Kudos to Kal Tire in Coquitlam for taking me in 10 minutes before closing and pulling my spare, remounting it on the proper rim to replace my flat and then telling me "no charge" even though I hadn't bought the tires there. I've been to the Coquitlam (Runnel Drive) location on two previous occasions in 2014 to get the oil changed, and the brakes checked. On those two occasions, I found their service to be exceptional. On my last visit a few days ago, I scheduled another oil change; this time, I was told everything looked great, except there was some water retention in the brake fluid, which they recommended that I change. I was told this would cost $120 and take a couple of hours. I declined the service, and checked with my dealership the next day. Good thing too, because it turns out the brake fluid was changed two months ago, and there was no water in the brake fluid. I'm very disappointed with Kal Tire; I actually trusted them. It's unfortunate, but they've lost a customer. read more

Great place to get my tires swapped. I have rims on both summer and winter, I didn't have to pay anything since I bought the summer's at a Kal tire center. ONLY thing is I'm finding that when ever I do go they always tell me my windshield wipers are streaking... They never streaked before..... They're always happy to serve and very friendly. They're quite busy during peak season so I highly recommend you book your time and bring a charged phone. 4.5 stars :) read more

My husband and I have brought our 2 cars to Kal Tire (Runnel Drive) for tires and servicing on several occasions and found their service to be exceptional. On my last visit last Friday, I scheduled a transmission fluid change for my Toyota Sienna and was quoted labour cost of $90 and transmission fluid cost of $50 plus filter change of $53 if found dirty (over the phone from Kal Tire Schoolhouse branch employee Brad. When I drove my car in in the morning, I handed my car keys to the Assistant Manager G. (at Runnel Drive) and cited the same quotation that was provided by Brad from Kal Tire (Schoolhouse). I also reminded him that the brake pads need to be checked. He acknowledged the quotation with a nod and told me that I will receive a call when the car is ready. When I returned to collect my car, I was shocked to be told by another employee that the transmission fluid cost is now $273.46 instead of $50 as the fluid has to be the "original Toyota fluid and the Sienna requires 11 litres of the fluid which costs $24.86 per litre". The final bill was to be $407.08 instead of $161.14. The filter was not changed. When I asked the front desk employee why nobody has told me that in the morning (the Assistant Manager G. did not tell me that the fluid cost is calculated based on the volume and unit price nor that only original Toyota fluid is used which has to be specially ordered) until now, he reiterated that that is how they charge. When I told them I was not expecting such a huge difference between their quotation and the actual bill, the Assistant Manager G. said to the front desk staff who was servicing me "Just give it to her, I don't want to waste time on her" as he walked off to the service area. The front desk staff billed me for $161.14 which i paid. However, I wasn't happy with the attitude of the Assistant Manager G. What was said was within my earshot and I told the staff serving me that I was not happy with the Assistant Manager's attitude. He could have explained the costs to me upfront when I handed him the car keys in the morning to avoid such an unpleasant surprise. read more

I brought my vehicle into this shop because I had a slow leak in 1 tire that caused the tire to lose 8 lbs of pressure in 1 week and this was the closest shop to my home. My vehicle was taken into the shop right at the appointment time and service was completed in a very timely manner. When I went to pay, I was shocked when the customer service rep told me that there was no charge for the repair. I was speechless for a few seconds and thought I was being pranked for a tv show or something. When I recovered my wits and asked if she was certain that the service was going to be for FREE, she acknowledged that it was the case and explained why the tire was losing air. I did not even buy my tires from this business and they were willing to do this for free. I probably have at least 2 years of wear left on these tires but when I need new tires, I will be buying them from this company. While I was waiting for my tire to be fixed, I couldn't help but overhear many conversations with other customers and noted how kind and patient all the shop employees are to all the other customers who were getting work done on their vehicles. I would like to congratulate the management and staff of this location on being an outstanding member of our business community. You will have a customer in me for as long as I own a vehicle.
