5 stars from this guy! The service was outstanding! I was stuck in downtown with my wife, two kids and a burnt alternator. We thought it was the starter. We called On The Spot and they sent a technician right away within one to one and a half hours and found out it was indeed the alternator. I read some of the fake negative reviews on here and it's quite disturbing at how far some jealous people are willing to go when they see people do good. Subconsciously, I have no idea how that works. When we phoned the gentlemen that answered the phone highlighted the company rates including what payments they accept. If you look under the CRA rules inspection and diagnostics are tax exempt FYI, I know because I am a retired CA (Charter Accountant). It really shows the guys here aren't doing it just for the mechanical work but also to genuinely help everyone within our communities. You're lucky if you can get your vehicle in a shop right away haha good luck!!! The wait is at least 3-4 days plus having the vehicle towed and not having it for work ends up being even more financially costly when these guys come to you right on the spot. Considering I'm six months in Vancouver and six months in California out of the year and we were on a road trip out here stranded. The bad experience with our vehicle didn't last long so our trip wasn't really affected as it was bed time anyway thanks to these guys. I can keep going but I'll stop I recommend them to everyone! Avoid this business at all costs! Wish I can give zero stars. I initially called them to have my brakes serviced and was required to pay $320 upfront. The mechanic, Marco, arrived over an hour late. When he arrived, he was on multiple personal phone calls before starting on my car, even when he was working on my car, he was still taking calls. After a brief inspection, he claimed the actuator and caliper likely needed replacement because the piston was stuck. He contacted a supplier and quoted me over $3,300 for the actuator alone. Later, I discovered the genuine OEM Lexus part only costs around $1,100 directly from Lexus Parts. Marco then told me he know someone who might be able to repair the parts for much less, so I agreed to let him take the parts. He removed the actuator and caliper and left the hose leaking brake fluid - I had to figure out how to stop the leak myself. He promised to update me that evening, but never called. The next morning, I had difficulty reaching him, and after several attempts, he said he needed more time and would call back. This cycle repeated multiple times, with me constantly having to chase him for updates. Eventually, he told me the parts were broken beyond repair. I requested my original parts back, but again he became very difficult to contact. At that point, I genuinely felt like I had been scammed out of expensive components. When he finally returned something, it was an old, rusted part that clearly was not mine and wasn't even the same component. That raised a major red flag. I actually consulted other mechanics even Lexus certified mechanics and they said the parts are probably fixable. I insisted that my actual parts be returned. After several more calls, he claimed his staff had accidentally thrown them away. Despite their mistake, the company refused to offer any compensation towards parts replacement cost, which are nearly $1,600 from Lexus. Meanwhile, my vehicle has been sitting immobile on jack stands in my garage and not drivable. This experience has been extremely stressful and unprofessional from this business. My misfortune should serve as a warning to anyone considering On the Spot Mobile Mechanics services. read more

Quoted $180, then charged $264 and didn't send breakdown of charges as promised. When I asked about the discrepancy, fed bs about taxes, which doesn't add up to the final amount, then gas surcharge for driving. Very dishonest mechanic. Would not recommend. read more

Very dishonest service. He came with no tools, and a poor SUV, also 3 hours late. My audi Q 7 electrical system was locked due to EPC display, he said he does not have the tool to diagnose the reason. He still want $165, when I asked for a receipt, he yelled at me "what is your ducking problem", I got very scared by him and almost called the police. He forced me to emt the money at the end, then left the house. Very horrible experience!!! When I ask for receipt, please see the attached screenshot, more horrified. He drove a Ford old SUV. Very poor service, and very violent person. Late for the promised time. When he arrived late at night, it already very dark, and he cannot perform the work with no light. All he did is told me my battery is no good and he does not carry any parts in his car. When the car ended up at Canadian tire the next day, the technician at Canadian tire said the reason the car won't start is not because of the battery, the spark plug is the issue. He charged me for 160 for the visit and that's a wast of my money and when I ask for receipt, he said he don't need to report tax to CRA for the inspection money he is earning. Definitely CRA should for after this guy. read more

The serpentine belt on my BMW 323i slipped off. I asked Aryen from the outset if he could fix it and he gave an unqualified "yes". Three days, multiple trips to his "shop" and about 20 different belts later, he helped me push the car into a neighbouring parking lot and will not come back to complete the work. I have spent $860 on a job which should cost $130 and he quoted me $360 at the most for the job. I cannot day enough about how poorly this man has behaved and i am out of pocket money i could have spent on a real mechanic who knows what he's doing. Avoid this "mechanic" at all costs. He's an operator and will take advantage of you when you can least affford it. read more

I would give On The Spot probably zero star had it not been for the fact that Aryen had a nice, likeable personality. He is a nice enough guy who you wouldn't mind hanging out with, BUT make no mistake about it, this mobile mechanic service is extremely overpriced despite Aryen's many attempts at trying to sell his prices as "very competitive". My car would not start so I decided to try him. He sounded nice and pleasant on the phone. He explained that the initial hour is $160 and subsequent hours would be $80/hr, plus any parts needed. The part he did not go over in detail over the phone was that to get the needed parts after the initial diagnostic, the customer is going to be charged on the clock while he drives away from your location to get the parts. I simply assumed as with all other mechanics, the parts would be dropped off at location. He was quick with the diagnostics and right away explained that my battery is pretty much dead and we need a new one, so I said Canadian Tire is a 10min. drive, but he said that "we don't deal with them and have our own distributors". Fair enough so let's get the ball rolling as I'm on the clock here. He drives away only to call me 15min. later to say that his closer distributor doesn't have the right battery in stock, however, their North Van location (5.5km away) does. He asked me if I'm okay with him going there to get it. I said that doesn't make sense to me; why would I pay him for over an hour while he drives around town to get the battery while Canadian Tire is only 10min away. He said he would talk to his boss to see what they can do. Calls me again and says that they can get it from CT but all guarantees would now go through them to which I agreed. Once he was at CT, he asked me to etransfer the cost of the battery to the head office. I refused and said I would only pay with my credit card and told him had not mentioned anything about payment options. Turns out he only takes cash or etransfer. There was a lot of back and forth and once again pretending to talk to the head office while killing time. Once again, he agreed to my demand and paid for it with his own card. He then came back and got the job done. In the end, he charged me $313 for labour cost and $170 for the part. No issue with the part, however, the labour time was sure a rip off!!! I got overcharged by at least 80 minutes of labor. He took a picture of my credit card so the "sister company" would be able to charge it. Later that evening, I got my invoice and it turns out that he charged me 12% tax on both labor and battery whereas the battery cost on the invoice already included taxes. I texted him to say the charge is $24 over what we agreed. He said it's the 5% credit card fee. I objected to it and said that this was not part of our agreement and even if it was, 5% would not have added up to the $24 difference. He said I'm making a fuss for $10 and why should he pay for the credit card fee out of his own pocket. This guy is unbelievable. We ended up talking on the phone for 45min and I told him what I thought. He kept saying that he wants me to be happy with his work but was completely clueless as to how to go about it. Finally he agreed to pay me back the $24 but reluctantly. Credit card processing fee is usually 2.65%! If your car doesn't start, it's cheaper to pay for towing and have a proper autoshop deal with it. Or, get BCAA on the spot and get it boosted or towed next day if you are not in a rush. When your car is at the shop waiting for the part to be dropped off, you are not being charged for that time because the mechanic is working on another car while waiting for your parts. On The Spot has very little overhead costs and yet charges a lot. Aryen is a genuinely nice guy but his customer service compass is seriously flawed. I wish him the best but will not be asking him back for any further service call nor will I recommend him to anyone. Lesson learned! read more
