Since its so hot outside right now, I just thought this would be a good place to review for the summer time! We always come here for one thing the CHOCOLATE MILKSHAKE, its the best we've tried and the price is good. However one thing i would say is that they DO NOT take card, so bring some money! The chocolate milkshake tastes so good, its made with chocolate ice cream and chocolate sauce, it also has a good thickness, but its not so thick that you cant drink it out of a straw. Okay, I start off all my frozen yogurt reviews the same--I'll take old school froyo over the pinkberry tart stuff any day-- ANY DAY. My boyfriend doesn't live to far from Fosters, and I make it a point to go every time we're in the area. It's just really great--I always get some sort of fruit sundae or a banana split. I love Fosters Freeze!! Fosters franchise is often paired with El Pollo Loco restaurants. If your experience was eh, that's because an El Pollo Loco employee is responsible for grilling chicken, the ice cream part is a bonus. The Carson franchise is by far the best Foster Freeze I've been to, there's another one in Old Town Torrance but it's not as good. So many childhood/teenage memories of this Foster Freeze, all good by the way hehe. Whether it was studying at the library, playing basketball in Carson Park or working across the street at Albertsons, I always found myself visiting for food & soft serve! Right on the main drag in the City of Carson, on the corner of Main. Carson was my home from 6-23, and this establishment is a definite pit stop for me after visiting family & friends. Family owned franchise, good burgers, great Soft Serve ICE CREAM!! Big Boss Burger combo was my go to choice for food. I've also tried Hot dogs and Chili Fries. Chocolate Dipped Cones and Twisters are my favorite in the frozen treat category. Dining area seats about 15-20 outside and 15-20 inside and if I recall, has a jukebox inside. They might have taken it out, I remember it being broken and I go drive thru on my visits nowadays. When I was little, I remember stopping by as a family and picking up some frozen deliciousness. As a teenager, I was known by the staff to bring dates by haha. Ah, the good ole days of the cheap cheesy date haha, oh well, it made me popular with the family/staff. I LOVE FOSTER'S FREEZE! While they may be CASH ONLY, there is an ATM right in their restaurant or there is a Band of America right across the street. Why are you living in Los Angeles county WITHOUT cash in your wallet? Anyway, this place is a staple from my childhood and now that I moved back to the area it is a part of my adult life. Whenever I am in the area I try to make my way over for a chocolate soft serve. The El Pollo Loco Foster Freeze experience is always terrible. You need an original like this place! There is a Drive Thru or a walk up counter with indoor and outdoor seating. I can see why people like it at Foster's Freeze. It's one of the originals and plus you have variety of desserts. They also have hamburgers but known for their shakes, malts, and ice cream. I am a foodie and particular about it. I give it 1 star bcuz the taste is somewhat descent. My complaint is their service sucks and the workers are not clean. My husband ordered the chocolate malt and I ordered the rocky road twister. We realized that it was cash only so my husband went across the streeet to get some cash at the atm while I waited. I was really upset that they were speaking in their language and pointing at me. Probably was saying "Oh...look at that girl. She doesn't even have $6 in her wallet". I've been going to this Foster's since I was young, like 10. I'm 42 now, so yeah, forever. Always rode my bike here for a dip cone. The people working inside aren't always the best when it comes to simple customer service etiquette, but that is normal for this place. They've always been that way. I don't need a "Hi" or a "Hello" to know it's time to order my ice cream. They come to the window when they feel like it. I accept it and mow down on my ice cream or hot food. Yes this location has hot food. Has since I remember going here back in the day. Does the location need a pressure washing? Yeah, it could use a cleaning. I have been going to this Fosters Freeze since I was a kid. My favorite has always been the chocolate malt shakes. It's still good, no complaints there. Their burgers used to be amazing. But now......it's horrible. The burger patty tasted like they had cooked it twice. Same thing with the French fries, it tasted like they had been fried twice. Again got me a dipped cone. This time I got chocolate ice cream. The ice cream was good but the way it was dipped in the chocolate was very poorly done where I had to be very strategic on how i eat my ice cream. Came here with my wife and kids, the Lady was real rude and couldn't understand her because her accent has pretty bad. I ordered 3 dipped chocolate cones and she dropped 2 of them in the chocolate pot and she just put them in a cup..she didn't tell me nothing just handed them to me. I asked her if want them in a cone and she said the cone is in there. I told her I want another one and she got mad and started talking smack to the other guy in a other language. Gave me the cone with attitude almost dropped it on my hand but I caught it. I will never go back and I ask you to please go to the one in Torrance..just read the other bad reviews it's true about this B**ch she is rude to a lot of poeple. there are sandwiches and burgers here but i come for the good Old Fashion Freeze. wat sets this particular stand apart is that it has stuff on their menu that no other FF offers. one example, and my #1, is the CHOCOLATE BANANA CRUNCH. it's MMM MMMM goodness in the form of vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup (the kind that hardens when cold), sliced bananas, and rice crispies. if you have room, you can get the small because even the small is too much for me; i'm good just ordering the jr size. read more

If only there is a negative stars i would have given this place -100x stars. I ordered chilli fries w/o cheese, and my niece get chili cheese fries. I asked for the receipt because i hate places like this always bsing with customer and put random charge in. I was right! The receipt shows fries, cheese, and chili charged separately, which I was fine with until i saw DOUBLE charged on cheese. I questioned the guy there and he said yea because there were 2 cheese; his definition of 2 cheese is that the one my niece order, they put MORE cheese. This is ridiculous because i paid for something that I didnt ask or request them to do!! SECOND, my nephew ordered a chocolate brownie twister, you would think it's only chocolate, but the lady gave us a mix with cherry inside. I have been going to this particular Fosters for over 35 years, and my kids were raised on it. I have seen ownership changes, and I must say the current owners seem pretty miserable. Tolerating the rudeness is a necessary evil I guess. Maybe if they were friendlier, they would make more money, and in turn upgrade the place. Even if you don't speak good English, or have a strong accent, a greeting and smile for your paying customers goes a long way. I always get the Lg. cone, or a Butterfinger Twister. The burgers and fries are good, but the soft serve ice cream is the star of the show .I always trip out when I go through the drive thru after ordering a cone. They always hold back the cone and extend their hand, till you give them the money. Like I'm gonna grab the cone and speed off and risk going to jail for a $ 2.50 ice cream cone. Whatever. read more

As Huell Howser puts it, this place is really and truly a piece of California's Gold!!!! This particular Foster's Freeze has been here forever!! It's such a classic place and historic place to eat. A S. Cali original. Most people come here for the ice cream only but not me. I love their food such as their burgers. My favorite is their signature burger which is The Big Boss. I love their Chili Cheese Fries--heaven in your mouth and a great match with the Big Boss. If you want Ice Cream though, I like the Twister ice creams they have. Mixed Berry and oreo are the best. I'll never eat at cold stone as long as Foster's is still up. I always get the cookie dough twister cause it's pretty good and good amounts of cookie dough in there. there biggest size is large i think. The cup is like the size of the big gulp cup at 7 11. The people that work here are very rude especially to kids. The lady tossed my daughter her sandwich at her and she wouldn't give my niece a cup of water with her food. It's very sad to me because I grew up going to this place. The workers used to be very pleasant back in the day. Even the LA county inmates get treated better.
