I went out with my family tonight to a local business we wanted to support. We have never stopped here before, so let's try it...I was really disappointed the ladies in the front really did not seem to care about helping me with a question I had about my receipt. They seemed to only care about helping the next customer, I understand business, but if you want RETURN business, I recommend you make each customer feel welcome and taken care of. Remember there are many ice cream shops to choose from in the area not just your shop. I really wanted this to be a family favorite, but I truly can not say that after my first time visit. The people/customers around the area were not friendly either, very sad. Some people were waiting for their ice cream and some people were waiting to be helped. It was hard to tell which area was which... I man was very rude and started yelling and swearing at me, because he said I cut in front of him in the line, when I thought he was waiting for his ice cream. I apologized to him and he continued to go on. Not a friendly family place like I thought it would be, very disappointing after a pricey total on the ice cream. This Foster's Freeze location has been my spot since I was a baby. All of these years that have passed and everything is still the same. I love getting a cone and french fries on my saddest and happiest days. They changed their fries a few years ago, but they're still good and they give you a grip in the bag. My go-to food menu items are the Fried Burrito or the Texas Toast Grilled Ham and Cheese sandwich. I noticed that they're a littttle more pricier than other soft serve ice cream places, but I still feel like they have decent prices for their ice cream portions. I don't know anyplace else that actually has larger size cones. I dare you to try a large cone, you'll trip out. I used to get a large cone all of the time when I was little, now as an adult its too much ice cream for me lol. Customer service has also grown a tad bit. First, let me say I am a huge fan of Foster's...the old school ones that still serve burgers, not just the frozen treats. These places are now few and far between, and I seek them out just to have a heavenly 'Big Boss'. :) This location in Carson is currently the closest to me, and I have been there 5 or 6 times. Note: I won't be going back. Every time I've gone, they guy there (owner?) has been rude. Very short with customers, like he's pissed people are actually patronizing his business. Cash only, walk-up ordering, lack of seating, aged facilities and signage, with an ambiance that might make people uncomfortable (read: grimy). But I love it. Banana Split--yum. Fries--yum. Burgers--yum. While every other fast food joint is jacking up the prices, the menu here doesn't seem as bank-breaking. Some people have said the service is rude, but I don't take it as such.
