They took the time to talk with me over the phone first and helped confirm what the issue likely was. I asked if they could come out the same day, and they were able to accommodate. They showed up exactly when they said they would. Before starting, they gave me a price range so I knew what to expect. In the end, the sewer line access was very close to the house, so the job was easier than expected and they actually charged me on the low end of the range, which I thought was very fair. What really impressed me was how thorough they were. They ran a camera through the line and showed me exactly what was going on inside the pipe. They explained the condition of the line, what caused the issue, and how much life the pipe likely has left. They also took a look at another plumbing concern while they were there. Since my tenants were present during the visit, I especially appreciated how professional they were. They handled everything respectfully and did not discuss pricing or anything that would have put me in an awkward position in front of my tenants. I tried to unclog it myself, but apparently I'm crappy at it (dad pun, sorry not sorry). I tried some chemicals, the plunger, I bought an auger at home Depot, nothing worked. I found Howdy Plumbing in the classified section of Craigslist, had a nice conversation with Kyle who set me up with an appointment with their 99 dollar drain clearing special this very day. Mike came earlier than I thought and got right to work on his tablet. He didn't touch a thing, he just looked around with his tablet. Mike then said it would be over $200 to clear my drain. Confused, I asked why. He explained to me he wrote The $99 special, and this is why I wasn't eligible: he had to pull the toilet. I asked why don't we try to snake it out, and if it doesn't work, no harm no foul, I will get a new toilet and put it on myself. He seemed to agree and shook my hand, then walked out the door! I called Kyle back, confused again, and he said he would call Mike and get an explanation. Kyle call me back shortly later and told me that apparently I was rude and dismissive to Mike, and that he left because. Because. Because I don't know. Dude just left. He agreed to do work in a friendly and very normal way and then just got in his truck and left. Good luck with these guys! If you're willing to pay full price sight unseen, they're the ones for you! They will just skip to the most expensive step and shake your hand and smile :) UPDATE 4/26/25: after everything above, today I received an invoice from these people. What a joke! Last week, there was water in the floor on my garage floor coming out from under a wall, but the…read moreodd thing is that there are no water lines in my garage and I know the water supply lines are underneath the house so it was not obvious where the water was coming from. That morning, I called about 10 plumbing companies and all of them could not come out until the next week. I had never heard of America's Plumbing before, but they were next up on the list and I called. I was greeted by a friendly person (I can't remember her name) and she said she could get someone out after 1pm. Around 11am, I got a call from Rick asking me a few more questions about what I was seeing and after discussing, he said he would be able to be over in about 30 minutes or so. Rick and Kyle arrived on time and inspected the area. At first, the cause of the leak was not obvious to them either, but they kept poking around looking for the cause and they found it. It was the water heater, which is located in a little elevated closet space outside of the garage. The water heater had developed a leak and the leaking water was running backwards from the water heater backwards downslope and exposing itself on the garage floor. Rick thoroughly explained all the replacement options and said they could have the job done that day. Rick and Kyle got the job done and I am very happy with the service. Rick's knowledge and experience is clearly evident immediately. He is so friendly and patient. He told me that he really enjoys his work and based on my observations and conversations with him spending an afternoon here working, I believe him.
