Contacted various plumbers via Yelp project (an excellent feature of Yelp) and got responses from several (including R Box) within an hour of submitting the request (even on a Sunday). Alex from R Box was prompt in all of his responses, clearing communicating when he will show up and his ETA and also update on teh work after he was done. While he mentioned that he would charge for the initial diagnosis, (like every other plumber), he could not find the root-cause after ~45mins of testing: so he said that he would not charge until I call him if / when the leak shows up again. No issues with the stove, at all. Called Alex again because the water valve outside for my sprinkler system just started to erupt. I turned off the water to the house and gave him a call, and he came by same day and fixed that as well. He showed me the issue (seems the handyman I hired a few years back used the wrong type of glue and it just popped off). It's been a few weeks since and still no issues, so safe to say job well done. I think I paid Alex about the same to fix this water valve as I did the handyman last time, which if you count for recent inflation means Alex probably cost less for bettet quality of work (assuming nothing happens, knock on wood). I reached out to them and they said it would need replacing. I asked a few questions and they were very patient and answered them all. Our toilet has been clogged for over a month now and we've tried using an auger that was bought at Home Depot to no avail. Therefore, I ended up on yelp and got some quotes from different plumbers in our area and decided to go with R Box Plumbing since they were the most responsive and gave the best price out of all that I contacted. They came in, assessed the problem and tried working with it with a longer auger first to see if it can be solved with that (which I very much appreciate since if it was solved with that then the removal would not be necessary). When it was evident that it wouldn't work, they went ahead and proceeded with the removal of the toilet (which I was originally quoted for) and that solved the problem! Even though he worked with it with the auger first (which took some time), he only charged me for the removal of the toilet. I'm late to writing this update....I contacted Alex again in December regarding low water pressure in my kitchen faucet. He responded quickly and was even able to come out the same day to look at it. He was able to mostly fix it that day. After he left I noticed there was still an intermittent issue where the water had low pressure, but if I adjusted the temperature/position of the handle it would normally resolve the issue. I reached out via text a little later to see what I should do if it keeps happening, but he didn't respond. This went on for a little while, but over time it has decreased to where it only happens rarely, and I am okay with that. While he was here, we had also discussed removing the pedestal sink and replacing it with a typical vanity/new sink. I was under the impression that he was going to send me an estimate, but I never received one. read more

Absolutely fantastic job by Alex! He was prompt in responding my messages, and showed up *exactly* on time. Alex is very knowledgeable, and was meticulous in his work. We had to remove the extra piping in the waterline, left over from an earlier whole house water filter removal. Alex's quote was for just cutting the line at 2 places and soldering a new piece there. Alex mentioned that doing it that way will have new pipe sticking out of the wall, and offered to put a side joint so that the bend is completely hidden inside the wall - at no extra charge! Alex also found an old strap from the builders that was rubbing against the pipe, with a potential to create a pinhole leak. He replaced that with a properly installed copper strap, again at no extra charge. It was clear that Alex took pride in the quality of his work, and spent the time to really polish the copper pipe (inside and outside) before doing soldering.
