What a shit show this place is! I went there in my Chrysler 300 for warranty work! Waited hours on end for them to check some numbers on my alternator and replace an air bag. I get my car back and my blind spot detection no longer works my mirror has broken plastic now and my fog lights and adaptive cruise control no longer work. Terrible customer service. We have a 2017 Jeep Wrangler with less than 20,000 on it. The radio stopped working and when we called were told it would be 9 days before they could look at it. We offered to leave the car all day anytime and maybe they could work it in. "Nope all booked" was the reply given. I wish I could say this is the first time I have gotten poor service from the service department. We own two jeeps and have NEVER gotten good service. I try to shop local, but I will not purchase another jeep from Foss simply because once you purchase your jeep they don't take care of you! Husband was interested in an Xterra that was listed on the lot (and with the Xterra running out thanks to Nissan now having discontinued it, we wanted to get another before we couldn't). Before we even were out of our truck, we noticed a sales rep (Mike P.) was standing in the doorway of Foss (outside in the horrible wind and chill mind you!) waiting for us so we wouldn't have to open the door or look around for a rep to help us. Immediate service without having to wait for anyone. Very friendly staff all around in all areas. We initially were working via phone with Alyssa and in store with Mike P. and with I believe Tim. Mike even pointed out the dings, dents, scrapes, and everything that could possibly be seen so that we were not surprised with it when we went to sign paperwork. Alyssa even went outside and took additional pictures for us when we were on the phone with her asking questions. The only complaint I have was that it took a long, long time to get everything done (we were there almost 4 hours). In the end though, we walked away with a price we were happy with, and a vehicle my husband loves! Thanks Foss and the Foss Team for perfect customer service!!! read more

TERRIBLE COMMUNICATION!!! KBB offers, and Andy from Foss calls me to make an offer on my 2015 Ram 3500 with a one year old 8' hdx stainless steel plow blade. KBB gave me a mid price for the truck of 23,000 alone. The plow blade new cost 7,000 so I estimated 3,000 for the blade. I owe the bank 16,000 and I was looking for about 27,000. This would of gave me a down payment of 11,000 Andy said he wanted my truck, and could work out a deal for me to get into a 2018 Ram 1500 with 35,000 miles with my trade for 11- 13,000 dollar loan. I travel the hour and fifteen minutes only to get a deal of 23,000 for my truck and blade. This would have gave me a 7,000 deposit for another truck other then discussed. The truck offered to me was going to cost me 18,000 the one we talked about on the phone would cost me 19,000 with my trade and deposit. Andy! If you take 3,000 off the price of this deal to give me what I wanted for my truck, this 11,000 to 13,000 truck just went up 3,000 to 5,000. You wasted my gas and time for a bullshit deal. You couldn't even show your face to explain the offer you discussed over the phone. Your salesman Nate was a good guy. He offered to keep me in mind for other deals, but I told him I would never come back to Foss after lying to me over the phone. This is the latest shiesty crap the service department (Sabrina? Brown curly hair) pulled on me. I go in for a recall and ask if they could take a look at the 4wd drive light that is on- I said I don't want anything done today, but if they could look at it that'd be great. She says no problem. And the end of it all they say I need to see if fix A will work, and if not, fix B will have to be done... Ok fine, but not today- that's for my husband to decide. I get to the checkout and they charge me $50 to look at the light!!! I am shocked. At no point was I ever informed that it cost any amount of money to look at anything! I started to cry because I am not in a financial situation to pay this $50. I was embarrassed and the manager told me not to worry about it- no charge this time- and to put my credit card away. I was so embarrassed and also I think it is bad business to not tell the person of the charge 's beforehand. She never told me. That's some shiesty stuff and very presumptuous. I was thankful that the manager dave(?) was so understanding. So.... the next day my husband decided to get the work done after I told him their diagnosis, so he called to make an appointment and the same woman said they won't do it unless we pay the charge we didn't pay and that I made a scene. She claimed that that was straight from the service manager who was the one who told me not to worry about it. ugh. sorry for being shocked and embarrassed, and why would you say no charge then hold it against me?! Wow. We were in the market for a new truck this summer, but we certainly won't be going to Foss. I am sorry to the owner that your service department pushed us away. This dealer appears to practice the typical bait and switch. Got a quote from there Internet representative on a vehicle. Arrived to look at the vehicle and the salesman couldn't find it. Then 4 days later told that the vehicle is not available for a month and a half. But they have other vehicle that are similar. I bought my Jeep at another dealer before I lived in the area, now that i'm local i have been bringing in my Wrangler Rubicon and they have been great every time. I have had multiple recalls fixed, and they are doing a gas-tank warranty service right now... very cool and no charge. Never upsold me things i didnt need, never keep my car more than a day (usually out of there faster than i planned). They do nice work, and have not done me wrong. WORST dealership I have EVER dealt with. I went to purchase a car, I have negative equity. They called me Friday to let me know everything is approved and I could pick up my car Monday. I called Saturday to make sure everything was good, they said "sure you can even come by Sunday to pick it up" I called Sunday and they said we're trying to work out an issue with the bank. Mind you I'm supposed to pick up my car Monday at 4. I just got off the phone with them and they told me that the bank isn't approving to finance my negative equity and that I would need $2500 down on top of the $700 I am giving down now. It's really too bad the service department has to be so completely incompetent because the sales department is great! With that being said, I will NEVER EVER go back to Foss Motors. I have been complaining about my 2012 Jeep Wrangler for a year and a half. The engine was making a tapping noise, the cruise control didn't work, and the engine was hesitating. I gave them over 4 chances to fix my cruise control with no avail and when my check engine light finally came on, I was told to continue to drive the Jeep while they waited for parts. I immediately took my Jeep Wrangler to another shop who gave me a rental without throught, told me I should NOT be driving this as a multiple engine misfire was diagnosed on the check engine reading, and the problem was fixed within 3 days. Not only did the other dealership treat me well, which the jerks in the service department at Foss did not, but they confirmed what I had been saying all along that my left cylinder head needed to be replaced. Not only did the service department treat me like an idiot woman who knew nothing about cars, but they also would have cost me a LOT of money had they continued to let me drive my Jeep past it's 36k warranty with all of the issues I had expressed concern with. I drove two hours from RI to Foss Motors in which I purchased my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee and was beyond happy that I did. The service from EVERYONE that I encountered was outstanding!! Having had done my research on the car itself along with the prices, I got the best price for this car along with the best price for my trade in. I had shopped at other car dealerships in my RI area who told me it would be IMPOSSIBLE for me to be where I wanted to be with a price and I am glad to say I will be driving by with my car from Foss Motors to show them that in fact it was possible. :) And with Foss Motors being the third dealership to visit for the same exact Jeep it was the first who showed me what it had from the front bumper to the back! I have a small business located in Brentwood, NH. In 2015, after reviewing options for new vehicles, we decided to go with the Ram Promaster series of trucks and to get them from the local dealer, Foss Motors of Exeter. We had the assurance from the dealership that we were getting a quality vehicle, and that they had the team in place to provide the service when needed. I continue to regret this decision every day. And I mean regret. This decision has cost many, many thousands of dollars, and that doesn't even come remotely close to summarize the extreme frustration that we've realized. Ultimately, we purchased 6 Ram Promasters from Foss Motors - 4 diesel, 2 gas. The reason for the shift from diesel to gas was the excessive problems with the diesel. But, the gas engine has been excessively problematic as well...as they say, we traded one set of problems for another set. In a nutshell, the service was poor at best, and the support from management in working to get relief with the manufacturer was equally poor. Avoid the Ram Promaster lineup at any cost. Avoid Foss Motors at any cost. We now have replaced 2 Promasters with 2 Ford Transits, added another 4 Ford Transits to our fleet, and am having to replace a 3rd Promaster with a 7th Ford Transit. Go to Ford of Londonderry, and ask for Bob M. in sales. Through this whole process, they have been very good. read more

Absolutely will never come here again. I had heard nothing but great things but my experience was the absolute opposite. I had been looking at a car online and went in on this past Saturday to test drive it and look at it. However they were trying to have the price be about $3,000 more expensive than it was listed for online. Luckily I still had the proof of the price I saw it for. I signed a whole bunch of paperwork and everything and everybody was coming up to me congratulating me saying I'd be leaving with it on Monday. I wait around and half the day on Monday only to be told that I was in fact not getting the car unless I got a stronger co-signer and a bigger down payment when I had already told them that what I had is all that I had. Not to mention, Foss Motors did 5 hard inquires alone which brought my credit down so low that now I can't go anywhere else. read more

Do not buy from this company I told him I needed to vehicles I told him how much I owed on one of the vehicles the other vehicle was paid off. They got me into one vehicle and said all we have to wait to try the other vehicle so I said okay my wife wanted to get got her vehicle and then spent a week getting the runaround on the second vehicle only to be told that I owe too much money on the vehicle so there is no deal we can do. I never once lied to them about how much I owed on the vehicle. What they got at least one sale out of us and they didn't care about the other. From what I read about the service department you sure as heck don't want to get your car serviced there. read more

Service is great but.....Tried to buy a Jeep and they were $300 higher on their best offer than Herb Chambers. They claimed it was a difference in destination fees. When I called Herb Chambers to qualify the fees Foss was wrong. The sales man at foss went back to his manager and retuned promptly with no change.As i was leaving acomment was made that "if he wants to talk to Herb Chambers let him go outside" In a loud voice. Ichallenged his comment in an angry voice and was asked to leave by another macho guy. When you can't beat the competition.....bully the customer and throw him out.. At Chambers I dealt directly with the decision maker .I find it annoying to have to deal with the wizard of Oz scenario. I bought the car from Herb. They accuse the competition of being less than upfront while they want me to pay more. read more

Beware, Service department charges matrix pricing [above retail] for parts and inflates actual labor charges to perform a particular part replacement. Negotiated a lower price for parts and labor. Refuses to use non OEM parts which is a significant savings over their pricing for OEM part.. Went there with an engine lamp on, spent $400.00 + and left with an engine lamp still on. They would not suggest any next course of action to correct problem. Just looking for me to spend more money on unneeded parts as they did first time around. No faith in this dealer unless you want to lighten your wallet. read more

I have had a SERIOUS problem with this dealership. My Jeep Grand Cherokee has a defective airbag. I took it in and they told me they couldn't find anything wrong. Because the warning light keeps coming on, I took my car to someone else who told me there are TWO problems with the passenger side impact air bag. I told Foss Motors that I thought this was dangerous, and that it could create liability for Jeep if someone got hurt, and they just kept telling me they couldn't find anything wrong. When my car overheated due to a faulty radiator, I called Foss and told them about my radiator and then, I made the mistake of dropping the car off to them. Their estimate to replace my radiator was $250 more than the high end dealer down the street. I told them I'd be there first thing in the morning to pick up my car. When i arrived, I was told "it isn't ready." Then, I was charged $99, their hourly rate, for telling me what I had already told them. Even with the ripoff, I saved over $150. I'm in the market for a new car so, thanks Foss, I now know exactly where not to go. read more

I brought my 2015 Jeep Patriot in for service because I was having issues with my power steering and they charged me to replace ever part of my power steering system without for almost $2500 when in fact the part that needed to be replaced only cost about $300 plus labor.. Bigger issue is that in fact my vehicle has a power steering recall from Jeep manufacturer and I should not have had to pay anything for the service. I was never informed by Foss of this and after calling another dealership in the area I learned they know of all recalls and should have known of this issue and serviced me vehicle for free. BEWARE!!!!!!!! Do not get scammed like I did. Use any other service center or get ready to pay big bucks for nothing!!! read more

Do not get your car / truck inspected here. I have a truck with under 65,000 miles and they told me I needed various parts replaced. That were not under warranty. I told them I would go some where else to get a second opinion and they told me they have all ready put my truck into the state database and I would never get a sticker. A few years earlier I offered them to match another dealers price on a dodge truck and they wouldn't so I bought my truck somewhere else. read more

Brand spanking new Jeep Compass in the hands of the service dept for approx 30 mins and I got dented, less than 125 miles on it! No one admits to doing it. So if the service crew didn't I asked if security cameras were on the bldg so I could go after the person in parking lot that must have done it. NO SECURITY CAMERAS can't believe it on a new car lot. Five mins it was out there after getting an inspection sticker and my time to pay the bill. Not even an offer of discounting the repair bill. The Jeep was bought at a Mass dealer I will drive back there for service, they offered to do the repair work at a discount. read more

This review is for the service department. I've brought my jeep here approximately 5 times totaling well over a thousand dollars of work. Two times was due to the engine overheating, which happens without warning; the check gauge light comes on and I have about 3 minutes before my car is smoking and throwing up all it's coolant. The first time they determined the coolant fan needed to be replaced. Within a few hundred miles, the problem resurfaced. After spending 4 hours getting it 50 miles to try and make good on their warranty (had to keep stopping to let the engine cool off), I was told the warranty didn't apply because now the issue was the coolant fan relay, which they replaced. Well here we are 4 months and only 400 mi later and the same exact problem has resurfaced a third time. I'm not making the same mistake of trusting their warranty; I'm sure they'll find another reason it's failing this time. I'd give them one start but that would imply this is a unique experience. My search for a competent service department that doesn't take advantage of you by charging you for services you don't need continues... read more

Had been doing business with for a bit and then went in to have 4x4 looked at due to a grinding noise when activated. visit the shop to get a few items out of the truck after agreeing to have the work done and theyre having a snowball fight in the shop. greaaaattttt. i get the car back and put the 4 wheel drive lock on and it sounds as bad as ever. call in and im told "o it was looked at and didnt make noise". that was the 1st lie. now i bring it back and im told a joint in the drive shaft broke and that it will be fixed but not until the following wednesday. well i need it done so i say order the part but im gunna pick it up in the meantime. all of a sudden i get a call that now its fixed the thursday before in the morning before i was goin to pick it up. seems great right? pull up and theres a huge dent in next to the taillight! then im told they arent responsible for wut happens on their own lot. What a joke!! way to treat ur customers. compares it to being hit at market basket. yeah...because i paid the guy in the deli to handle my car...? terrible establishment. save yourself a headache and never associate with foss motors. read more

sales team is great, service is the pits! i have a 2016 jeep compass, brought it in 4 times for an oil change and each time told them there is a noise with brakes in reverse and a rattle in front end, every time i was told it was normal..they never road tested it once....after writing a negative review with jeep, the manager (dave) calls me, i go back and road tested it with him and both issues occurred while driving with him, he admitted there was an issue, made another appointment to get it fixed, they ordered a part for brakes and said they will call in 4-5 days when in. on front end noise they tightened some things, after 3 weeks and no call, i email (dave), after another 3 days with no response from email, i call, dave is no longer there, new manager says parts are there and doesn't know why i was never called, now i have another appointment scheduled...not feeling good at this time about it......lets see what happens read more
