High quality! This applies not only to woke but also to their service. I don't review a lot of companies but they definitely deserve 5 stars! It's not the cheapest, but you get excellent quality and the cost was very reasonable and the service and install was on point. Would high recommend! read more

After 1 year of the initial installation I can confirm Terry and Donnee go above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect. Donnee and Terry regularly have checked in with me to make sure everything is up to my expectation. Their roofers and solar installers are professional and know what they are doing. I highly recommend them for solar and roof needs! Thank you Forme Solar! read more

Update: Had to have panels serviced already (not by Forme) because there was a rattling in the recent winds. Per the tech that came out, multiple fasteners holding the panels to the rails were loose, and Forme did not properly torque them. Fasteners absolutely should not loosen over time. read more

I found Forme Solar in Yelp and reached out for a quote. Bobby responded, asked for some information and provided a quote on the panels and system size I wanted. After comparing their quotes to others I received, I decided to move forward and the process began. Bryan came out and did the site inspection and figured out the best layout. He did mention my roof may need to be replaced and sure enough it did. They have a preferred roofer (Carlos) they like to use, but said I could use one of my choice. I ended up using Carlos since his price was similar to bids I received and they have a history of working together so it made sense. Once the layout was presented, we had space on my east roof to add an extra panel so I reached out to Bobby to see what it would cost to add an extra panel if we changed from LG panels to Q-Cells. By changing panels, I was basically able to add an extra panel which would increase our system size and production for the same out of pocket amount so we did that. Installation took about 1/2 a day and PTO was granted shortly after passing inspection on the first try. They did leave behind some debris on the ground and roof which I was able to cleanup for the most part. I'd highly recommend reaching out to Forme to hear what they can offer if you're interested in solar. read more

Just had Forme Solar install Q CELL panels and was disappointed we hadn't gone solar sooner. Was impressed with the product and service throughout this whole COVID thing. Shopped around a few solar companies, but Forme stood out for following reasons: - Easy to compare equipment with different pricing. We went with their all black panel solar system which meant we could generate power with a setup that looks good on our roof. - Installation Quality. A cool crew who worked in some incredibly hot heat! They ran conduit in a very discreet way, and even painted it the color of the house so it blended in. Had a few hiccups with the city permits being delayed, but it was expected with COVID. They handled everything from the permits to SCE. Total pros. Highly recommend! read more

Horrible company! Very responsive before they have your money. But good luck hearing back from them once they have your money! I've had my solar panels for over a year now. My agreement came with guaranteed production. My system produced less than what was guaranteed. Been trying to get some resolution for the past 3 months now. Been sending emails, trying to call Terry, ... No reply! Very frustrating and disappointing as this was a huge investment. I completely regret going thru Forme Solar. Don't make the same mistake I did! Update: Leanne, I paid YOUR company, Forme Solar, not PickMySolar. My agreement is with YOUR company. What are you guys going to do to address the fact that my system did not produce enough? Terry had promised that you guys would install additional panels at no additional cost if this situation ever happened! read more

Quick update. Terry reached out via telephone and also came by my house in person to apologize for the delays during our project. In addition, they were true to their word and provided me a partial refund to cover the 2 1/2 months they were late completing the project. Having spoken with Terry, I do believe they want to do better and he advised me they now have a 24 hour support line to assist customers outside of business hours. In my opinion, the solar industry is booming(as evidenced by the sheer volume of permits being issued in my city alone) and I think Forme was in a position where they did not want to turn business away but did not have the resources to keep up with the demand. I wish them the best, and honestly don't know if this would have been different from any other company out there. Reading things in solar forums, I have heard similar stories from other people with other companies. If you choose to select Forme solar you will get a great product and quality construction. Just be meticulous with your record keeping, ask them for an honest timeframe and then understand it will likely take a bit longer than that. I would encourage Forme, and all businesses to be upfront and honest with their customers on timeframes as that will certainly alleviate a large amount of frustration. read more

Went solar about 5 years, and it was working okay. We got it through the Hero program, and we were seeing savings till now. All of a sudden my system seemed to stop working. Called the original installer and they said it was an equipment error. So I called Aurora and they said that may have been Edison. Its like everyone has been placing the blame on everyone else. Fast forward a month and multiple phone calls. I finally had my original solar installation company come by and check out the issue. It was almost like twisting their arm to get them to come. They were extremely rude about the whole situation and quoted me $3k to get the issue fixed! That would have wiped our most of my solar savings up to this point but I was in a bit of a tight spot since I'm still making payments on the system. Went on Yelp searching for solar repair and contacted a few solar companies. Most werent willing to do solar repairs, but thankfully Orme Solar was. Orme came by the same day and quoted me less than 1/3 of the cost of my original installer. Now my system is back up and running properly. Glad I shopped around and found Orme Solar. They were fast, professional and affordable. read more

We found Forme Solar through Yelp and Google searches, probably like you are doing now. I made a list of the top 5 solar installers (by Yelp rating) that served Chino Hills. I had bought solar panels for my house about 5 years ago, so I knew what to look for in solar. But this time we were searching for solar panels for my in-laws' house. They wanted to purchase the system, not sign a lease agreement. 2 of the solar companies did not call back within 24 hours, so they were eliminated right away. I received proposals from the other 3, one of which is a major company that sells at Costco. We thought going in that we were going to go with the Costco solar provider. But they actually did not impress us. I think maybe they had too many layers of management to pay or something. The Costco solar reps were nice, but their price was WAY higher than Forme's solar, and I didn't feel like they would do as good a job because the whole thing was very bureuacratic. On the other hand, Bobby from Forme Solar was nice too, but he was more professional and responsive (as you'd expect from a smaller business), their proposal was straight-forward, and their price was WAY lower than Costco's. They proposed using top quality solar panels and inverters (Enphase), which is a lot of what you want to look for when you are buying. So if they can install the best components at a lower price, why wouldn't I try them? So we did. We found that their 5 star ratings were legit. They installed as expected. There were no extra fees beyond what we were told on the initial proposal. And the whole thing went very smoothly. My in-laws just received their Permission to Operate (PTO) last week. So, they are off to the races generating power with their new solar system. We all could not be happier. I recommend Forme Solar to any other people looking to purchase (or lease) a new system of solar panels. They did us right. Good luck with whoever you choose. read more

I stalk yelp reviews just to buy boba, so you can imagine how much research I did prior to going solar and furthermore, choosing ORME. ORME was the second of three top OC companies we "interviewed" and Nick killed it. Nick's knowledge, passion and ultimately his product knowledge blew the competitors away. I could go into some of the specifics as to why we chose ORME Solar . . . a mini inverter on each solar panel as opposed to one for the entire system, the ability to source over 100% of our energy from solar or the mere fact that they also presented our most cost-efficient, up-front and honest financial offer that we saw.   They make the process as easy as pie (mmmm pie). Once you sign the documents electronically, they get all of the permits completed, and install the equipment. They were in and out within 4 hours, and didn't even interrupt our little one's nap! Do yourself a favor, call ORME Solar and make an appointment with Nick read more

It's been a month since I received my inspection and NEM 2.0 approval. Overall here are the good and bad: Good: 1) they completed the job 2) system works like it should and workmanship is good for the most part. 3) the equipment are what they said they were supposed to be (Panasonic panels and Enphase inverters) Bad: 1) not as responsive. Sometimes I don't get a response for 1-3 weeks, or none at all. 2) my AC disconnect box was removed entirely because it was a "safety" issue. The AC was working before they got there and I guess when they pulled the disconnect it broke, which happens but I was looking for a resolution. I was left without AC for weeks in the heat. They said it's not part of the Solar system so they shouldn't be responsible for it, which is fine but then they should have left the box and conduits alone, so at least I can replace the disconnect myself! They offered to provide labor free of charge if I just pay for the material, which is fair but 3 weeks goes by and nothing. They were quick to respond when I told them I don't need it anymore. The parts cost less than $60, I'll do it myself than to wait around in a heat wave. 3) the electrician drilled a hole into one of the underground water pipe when they were looking to install a ground. I get it, things happen. They broke open the concrete floor to "fix" the pipe. They used shark bite fitting to stop the leak so they could come back the next day to finish it since it was getting late. Then next day they poured concrete with the shark bite still attached!! ITS NOT A PERMANENT FIX!! I understand, it's not their house so they don't give a shit if it leaks in 16 years. Proper way to fix is to use solder on the copper tubes. I've used shark bite fittings and they're fine for temporary fix or on exterior walls where I have easy access, but NEVER underground where I can't see it!! What ruins it for me is lack of communication. I am now looking for a new solar company for future service should I run into any issues. read more

I can't speak highly enough of Leanne and the Forme Solar team. Every interaction I had with the company was extremely clear and helpful - from initial project description and quote to final installation. Terry, Bobby and Nick are awesome! We were using average of $350 per month on our electricity bill. I found Forme Solar through Yelp. They were helpful and responsive. Their pricing was super competitive and the team was helpful in getting the project completed. My success manager at Forme gave me updates. It took a while waiting for the permit but after that point everything went by quickly. Helpful. Responsive. Good information. Professional and easy to work with. I saw one of my neighbors going solar so I reached out on Nextdoor about going solar. Researched a few solar companies and spoke with everyone from the large solar companies like TESLA and Sunrun. Ended up going with Forme Solar because of their post service. Wasn't sure what to expect initially but it went GREAT! They were awesome to work with and after the install happened it wasn't just a "thank you, goodbye"! I can see the savings and I appreciated how they helped answer questions versus passing me off to different departments or different companies. Was easy to work with them and love the fact they do repair. Helped me figure out what options to get for my system and fill in the gaps I never considered. We picked a all black package with all black solar panels, microinverters and black mounting equipment. Huge thank you to Bobby, and Nick. Their service was top notch, even after the install was completed! We initially went with them because: 1. Pricing was transparent and even on their site. 2. They do repairs. 3. Provided lots of info. No sales talk. 4. Recommended by neighbors. 5. Good reputation. So thankful we found them! Lots of people have bad experiences going solar, not the case for me. Straight forward and helpful. Would recommend getting solar panels with Forme Solar. They met and EXCEEDED expectations. read more

Straightforward pricing, excellent communications, fast install. What else can you ask for. Forme has been with us for every step, from the initial quite to the final follow-up after PTO was granted. We had a somewhat non-standard setup and they were very accommodating, answered all my questions, and. what is the most important, kept us in the loop for every step. Installation was a breeze. Once all permits were signed, it took them less than a day to install everything. They took care of all paperwork, permits, communicating with SCE. etc. Definitely recommend Forme Solar. I used Forme to help with my solar panel removal. My roof was leaking and the original installer was out of business their team provided a quote in a timely manner that was reasonable. It's a solid 4 star (originally rated 3 star). And that doesn't mean it's a bad company. But many aspects of the operations are just "OK" and the entire experience leaves a bad taste. From a project management standpoint, it's a miserable experience. Minimal updates, unanswered questions, lack of explanation on details, absolutely no follow up, and poor scheduling/logistics. I'll give credit where credit is due - the sales service from Bobby prior to the contract signing was superb. We're talking about answers for all forms of questions, answered throughout the day (sometimes late in evening and early in the morning outside of business hours). No pushy sales tactics and a plethora of information and options for the quote. From initial inquiry to contract signing was over a year for me to decide. However once the operations team takes over for scheduling, permits, and other items is when it becomes a whole different story. Candy Cabrera (originally the "Customer Success Manager" in Oct 2022 and then later the "Operations Manager" in Feb 2023) is the epitome of a black hole for information -things go in but nothing comes out. When it does come out it's like the movie Interstellar about black holes- often delayed or just asking for the same information again like a time loop. For example she'll ask me for a photo of the SCE sticker on the electric panel which I would promptly reply followed by a question -no answer. Then a MONTH later another email asking for the same photo. Then ANOTHER month after that someone else from the team asking for the same photo again. We're talking about pertinent emails with important questions and information from permits, to scheduling, and specific details - practically unanswered. The scheduling is of similar disarray. Email comes Jan 31st telling me there's a spot for install Feb 7. I email back to ask a few questions like "hey, are you sure I'm going to have power since I work from home" or "you guys haven't installed my electrical panel yet, are you proceeding with the solar panels first?". I have to ask these questions because there's no update on anything during the entire process. Instead of answering the questions, again the black hole. Then on Feb 7th at 7 am, an entire team of 6 installers is at my house ready to go. And guess what - that new electrical panel (MPU)- sitting in my driveway along with a Panasonic battery previously removed from a change order from 3 months ago. $20K of extra equipment not needed but eagerly awaiting install. The install goes smoothly. The wife is annoyed because the yard is littered with small bits of trash but it's construction work and I'm not nitpicking. You would think there's some kind of info packet, info email, welcome email, or a basic call the next day -NOTHING. I wasn't home the latter half of the day for the install, so the technician never setup the Enphase controller to the WiFi. Just basic details you think would be provided after $30K of equipment has been installed over your head. Remember all those unanswered emails and coordination issues? Well turns out the change order to remove the battery was signed back in Nov. Somehow plans to the city still included this detail. So now that solar has been installed in February, a revision has to be sent to the city. How was this even on there in the first place? Until this is completed, I can't have my panel de-rated, and I don't have approval from SCE for energy credits. At least this time someone answered my email to explain this. 3/2/2023 update: Terry from Forme did reach out with a call and email after this review. We had some in-depth discussions about what could be improved and we agreed that they did drop the ball previously. The last 2 weeks everything has turned around with updates, courtesy status updates with the city, and a heads up email and call when the inspection was scheduled. Inspection passed on the first try and everything went smoothly. Production so far is also steady. Thankful for the corrections and assurances from the Forme team. Rating updated to reflect this because mistakes do happen and owning up to it and correcting is important. read more

I researched multiple solar companies for my installation in Orange and Forme came in at the combination of lowest price, best reviews, and most responsive communication. I was looking for a specific brand/model panel and they were able to come through for me. Once I signed the agreement and moved forward, I never looked back and have been completely happy. They were in constant communication every step of the way and responded promptly to any questions that I had. I appreciated the fact that they did everything in-house (I was going to move forward with another company but when I got the contract it was with an electrical company I had never heard of). From the time I signed the contract to the time I got my PTO from So Cal Edison was just over a month - very impressive! Wow. I could not be MORE impressed with Forme Solar. Here's why. 1) Permit: working permits through my city is TERRIBLE. These guys were amazing getting permits and inspections done. 2) Roofing: I needed a new roof to go with my solar panels. They gave me a fair price and did an excellent job tearing off my old one and getting my new one, passing two inspections by a usually brutal inspector. 3) Pricing: I did three separate quotes and I can tell you Forme Solar was very fair in their pricing and honest in the options I had. 4) Solar install: Easy one day install. Inspection the next day that sailed through. I now have a 29 panel Solar Panel system that will offset my big energy bill and helps the environment. It's an awesome return on my investment without the headaches you'll have with usual contractors. Thanks Nick, Terry, and your crew! read more

Easy to work with. Had the opportunity to shop for solar and chat with Forme Solar. I was amazed at how easy the conversation was to just learn about solar and make a decision on what solar panels and inverters to get for my system. We were interested in solar panels and started doing our research. We found that after 5 years we would break even on our investment. They explained the numbers and helped me make our decision easy. We were a little worried about maintenance but found that solar doesn't require much if any work. SET IT and FORGET IT! Super low key. We are thrilled to own solar and love how little maintenance is required. Really happy with how everything turned out. Our biggest concern was the installer. We have heard of a few bad stories and issues some of our friends had. So we took the most amount of time doing due diligence on which solar company to use. We ended up going local and thrilled we found FORME SOLAR. Fantastic to work with. Respected their passion and for real they were legit. read more

I chose Forme Solar through Electrum-Home Electrification Marketplace. The short answer: Everything went well. The long answer: Forme Solar's bid was competitive. They were able to schedule my installation within a few weeks. Their installers did a great job with an emphasis on safety. (They clamped their ladder to the fascia of my roof.) The installers even notified me of an out of place roofing tile on my neighbor's roof. No problem when the city inspector asked for extra grounding for the panels. Donna, my contact person with Forme Solar kept me informed by email regarding every step of the process. This very, very happy customer is now generating his own solar electricity. read more

I have been trying to find a local company that would be willing to look at my solar system for months. My original installer is no longer in business of course and the larger companies I called don't do services on systems they didn't build. With the summer heat, I knew my electric bill would be massive without my solar system working so I was really stressed out! Fortunately, I found Forme Solar on Yelp and they are actually a service and repair company. They got someone out to my house two days later and found that a fuse in my inverter had blown and they quickly replaced it with a spare they had in their van. It's crazy to me that it's so hard to find a company that will come out and repair your system but I am so glad I found these guys. They are the real deal! read more

Forme Solar worked with me during a recent remodel of my house. They removed some existing solar panels to facilitate the remodel and then re-installed the panels and upgraded my existing system to add 25% additional capacity as well as switching the system to use micro-inverters. This review on based on my interaction with the sales team (not their products). So I reached out to them based on the high # of their 5-star reviews. One of their sales rep (or "Strategic Partnership") emailed back. We traded a 3-4 emails back and forth, and this person basically threw out a lot of technical jargon (like I'm already an expert on solar). Responses were short (almost dismissive). They didn't ask a lot of questions (makes me wonder how thoroughly they are). But what bothered me the most was that they didn't try to explain anything. Just assumed I knew all the terminology he was throwing out in his emails. I spoke with 3 other companies and ALL 3 took their time to asked for bills, pictures on electrical panel, and answered ALL the questions I had. This person...not even close. If I'm going to spend $15K, $20K, or whatever amount, I want to make sure I understand everything. There are many good reputable solar companies out there vying for your business and willing to take their time in doing so. I can't say that about Forme. read more

This review is only for the customer service. I did not get solar installed with Forme Solar. While I ultimately didn't move forward with Forme Solar because of the extra cost for my skip sheathing roof, their customer service was great. Bobby helped answer all my questions and it is a bummer I couldn't do the project. Our email thread had over 40 emails. I decided to work with Forme Solar based on reviews and competitive pricing. I don't entirely regret it but there are definitely parts of the process that could have been managed and communicated much better. Everything from the quote up to the installation of the system was quick and well-facilitated. Trouble started when we had some confusion with the city inspector which required resolving some communication problems and ensuring we had the paperwork needed to move forward. I felt much of this issue required my intervention and follow-up to get resolved quickly and keep the work going to PTO, not exactly a hands-off process. Once that was resolved, we had a series of other small issues that again required my frequent inquiry and follow up to get resolved, first with email and then when no answer after 3-5 business days then a call-- for some of these I guess they just figured they were going to address it in 3-5 days anyway so why respond, but it would have been nice had they just acknowledged our question or told us when they expected the work to be done. Lastly, we eventually found out we apparently have the wrong meter placement for us to be able to measure our consumption with the enphase app, although that was never communicated to us at any point in the process. Fine, whatever, but why did it take me three weeks of back and forth with the project manager, restating my issue again via email, and then calling the office for the fifth or sixth time in frustration when I didn't hear back from the project manager only to find out what the VP ended up telling us in a single line of email? We also asked politely for a call to discuss/understand further and got another single line of text back. Extremely frustrating, waste of my time, and left a bad taste in my mouth at the end of the project. I certainly hope any future issues will be handled with better customer service than the end of this project was. read more

Unless you have half a year to spend on trying to get solar, go with another company. We signed contract on 12/05/22, well before the NEM 2.0 deadline. We researched many different companies but decided to go with them because Bobby was great and answered our questions quickly and thoroughly. He must be the only one who knows how to communicate. We had to get our underlayment replaced which they said they had contracted roofers for. We researched our own roofers, but again went with Forme to keep everything as one package and hopefully make the project seamless. So JC sends an email in March trying to schedule a date to install the panels. The roof wasn't even done, how would they install panels? He replied he would get back to us and then this is when all communication stopped. We sent at least 5 emails that week and countless phone calls with no response. I thought we got scammed! They weren't even answering the phone line. Finally Bobby responded after a week and said someone would get in touch but no one did. So now we're in April. I called on 4/13/23 and a project manager answered. I didn't catch her name but she said she was only with the company for a month and didn't know anything going on. She was able to get me through to Zel who apologized for the lack of communication. She said our project was delayed due to rains so everyones project was getting pushed back. We live in socal.. we don't have months of straight rain to push back projects that far. So after going back and forth with Zel she said she would try to get the project done by the end of April. We emailed asking if we could get the panels installed right after the roof was done to make up for time lost but we're still waiting for a response. It's mid May now and still no panels! Long story short, this company is probably working out of someone's garage. Absolutely no communication after signing contract and paying deposit. Can't handle the workload or be responsible for their mistakes. Save yourself the headache and go with Costco solar. read more

These guys have been great since I started working with them. I needed a second opinion on some changes to my current solar system, since the company I installed with ghosted me after the install was done. They were incredibly insightful, honest, and knowledgeable about their product and solar in general. They're not just about the sale, they want their customers to be happy with the solutions they provide. The original installer I had promised me things that I later learned were impossible with the system they gave me. Forme Solar went into extensive detail as to why this would be impossible, and what they would have done differently to make it possible. Working with their customers every step of the way was one of those things. I can't speak personally to their quality of installs, since I only got a consultation with them. But I can say for certain, after talking with them, they know what they're doing and will provide you with something you'll definitely be happy with. I fully intend to use them for my next property soon. I'll be sure to update this review with more details after it's all done, with pictures to boot :). read more

I had Forme install my solar electric system. And from what I have experienced, they have lived up to their promises. They ran the conduit through the attic and looks clean. It took a little under a month for them to get the permit and install. I picked the latest solar equipment with LG panels and enphase microinverters. PG&E took a week to turn on my solar electric system. I am producing slightly more than they predicted. But I oversized the system for an EV. No problems with the system. I was paying somewhere between $200 and $300 a month on electricity. And I also like the fact it's helping the environment. read more

Happy customer since 2019! Met Nick at a trade show and reached out to him when we were considering solar. Nick was awesome! Friendly, professional and helped me create the solar system that I wanted for a better price! Compared their quotes with a few other solar companies but they seemed the most reliable in case something went wrong. Only been a year and a half but we can already see it saving money.
