Their workers were respectful, professional, and tidy every minute that they were on the job site they remembered that it was also my home and they were continuously, joyful, and enjoyable to be around all day. Make this a 4-1/2. Once we got scheduled, the installers were excellent. I would give them a 5. However, it was quite difficult getting on the project schedule for our solar battery project by 12/31/25 for rebate reasons. Communications with Axia was frustratingly sporadic in Q4 2025 given the rush before year end, and it was clear they were overwhelmed with projects. We had to reach out several times to get status. Hopefully that won't happen again for other customers now that the 2025 rebate expiration is past. read more

My system was installed back in May but has yet to be activated. They install failed inspection and I can't get a reason as to why, and because the system failed inspection PG&E won't install the backup switch. Axia has already been paid, so they don't seem to care and they don't return any of my calls. I'm looking into what legal action I can take. read more

Nearly impossible to get a hold of someone at the company. My house failed inspection twice. Work stopped on my house for three weeks, no explanation. My power started going off randomly. They replaced my entire electrical panel hopefully that fixes it. I truly wish I had never signed with them. read more

THIS IS A SCAMMY POORLY RUN SOLAR OUTFIT--DO NOT USE! SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE!! This is a repost, as my last review disappeared. This company has major huge huge accountability problems. We've been overcharged for solar for about 7 months, for the whole time our system was operational. Not once was our LADWP bill zero, as we had been promised. We are actually paying more for power than we did before the panels, when you include the leasing of the panels. Getting to the bottom of this issue has proven to be an incredible headache. Every few days I write or call trying to get help, it's such a waste of time and energy. I feel stupid that I thought this was a good idea. But I did read reviews on Yelp and Google before I signed my 25 year contract. But now that my review has been taken down, I realize that I was never seeing the whole picture. Sad, I really wanted to do something better for the environment and save some money on power. Our system was sold to us by Yobi Guobadia, who promised (IN WRITING) zero to very low electricity bills. Jaylin Batiste led the install. Yobi has not responded to any emails or texts in months, Jaylin responds occasionally to say that the technical issues we have been having are not her department and that she cannot help us. I have no one else to contact, I've asked them both to give me the contact of someone who could help us figure out what's going on with the panels + get a refund for the months of overpayment. My requests are ignored, or I'm referred to a general service email that has been flaking out on us for the past 7 months. It seems like the main issue is that this company is actually a Frankenstein of Hem Solar, Qcells, Axia, with the leasing of the panels now controlled by a company called EinFin. We finally got a technician to come out to help us get our monitoring back online, he was from a totally different company called Meyers. He got me the number of a technician located in Houston from Qcells, this technician said Axia is the most responsible for the system. No one takes responsibility. My next step is going to be lodging a complaint with the city, and having a lawyer talk to me about what we can actually do with this terrible 25 year contract. Terrible service. We have had panels installed for more than 7 months just to know that Edison never received certificate to operate. We tried contacting via email, left multiple voicemails and we never get a returned call nor response. Beware of this company. I am updating my original 1-star review to provide a complete picture of my experience with Axia by QCells, as there have been significant developments. After weeks of silence, I was finally contacted by Axia's support team via email. They acknowledged the recurring issue where my system's battery would not charge for days at a time and agreed to send a technician to my home. It's also a fact that someone from their team reached out to me here on Yelp after my review was posted. While I have no proof that my review prompted this contact, the communication began after a long period of unresponsiveness. In the meantime, before the technician was scheduled to arrive, I performed a hard restart on the system myself, which appeared to resolve the charging problem temporarily. The technician arrived a day later as promised. I want to give him credit--he was professional, knowledgeable, and thorough in his inspection of the entire system. He mentioned that in addition to his visit, he believed the office had pushed a remote firmware update to my system, which likely provided the permanent fix. Since his visit and the update, the system has been working correctly and the battery is charging as expected. My Final Conclusion: This experience has changed my perspective slightly. It appears Axia / QCells is not a company that will abandon its customers forever, and for that, I've raised my rating. I am no longer feeling completely alone with a broken system. However, the immense difficulty I had in getting any response is a serious problem. The communication breakdown after installation is real. My advice for any potential customer is this: Before your project goes live, you MUST demand a direct, reliable contact or service number specifically for future technical support. The sales and project management contacts, while great initially, were not the right channel for my post-install technical issues, which led to weeks of silence and frustration. Bottom Line (Updated): I'm raising my review to 3 stars because they did eventually resolve the issue, and the system is now working as promised. The field technician was excellent. However, the support process is deeply flawed. It shouldn't be so difficult to get help for a major investment like a solar system. I used Axia by Qcells for solar with battery backup. Within 6 months my solar system went belly up. It cost me appx 33k and now it generates zero. Good luck getting in touch with anyone. Calls to the main number for post installation support 888.699.1288 go straight to voicemail - I have called several times at varying hours for the past 3 days. Always straight to voicemail, I have left several messages. No call back, nothing. The installation was a whole other debacle so I am not currently surprised based on my installation experience. only slightly above a scam, do not recommend I'm writing this with a heavy heart after giving this company five months of the benefit of the doubt to make things right. First, I'll give you my take away so you don't have to read this whole long saga. This company is really communicative and customer service oriented until they get the solar panels on your house, and then if you have any problems, you probably will, it is incredibly hard to get anyone to help you. We have total sun exposure on our roof, we wanted solar panels, but we couldn't afford to put them in outright. We were told that after paying $179 a month to lease the panels from the company, we would have no electricity costs. We've now had them turned on since the summer, and we've continued paying several hundred dollars each 2 month billing cycle, making it so we're paying more money (combined with $179 a month) then we would have if we did not get the panels. Our monitoring system has turned off several times, so it's pretty impossible to understand why we are not producing the power that they said we would. I've been trying to get a technician to come out to service the system since November. When I finally got an appointment, no one showed up! I've now been trying to get a new appointment for several months. I've been talking weekly to a very nice guy from their service department (I feel somewhat trauma bonded to him, he's clearly the person dealing with probably lots of upset customers) he's tried to troubleshoot with me over the phone. When I talk to the super friendly, super communicative people who got me to enter into this crazy contract, if they get back to me at all, which most of the time they don't, they refer me to the same email and service number that I've been trying with no help for five months. I'm happy to say that for the first time, my electricity bill this cycle was much much smaller. It wasn't nothing, as I had been told it would be, but it was pretty low. I've written to everyone I can possibly think of to try to get a refund of the almost $700 we've paid in excess electricity charges since getting the solar panels, but no one will address that with me. In the meantime, our monitoring system continues to be off-line, so if we start getting charged these outrageous amounts for solar in the future, I won't be able to provide any data as to what is going wrong. It's really a shame. I was trying to make a better choice for the environment, but I must've worn everyone to stay away from this company. read more

I used Axia for my solar needs (panels, battery, inverter etc.). Start was good, getting the solar installed took us time but that is to be expected when everyone was trying to get it installed before end of 2025 for tax credits. After it was installed, the quality of support I have received has been poor. Their Q Home app was not working correctly, showing incorrect readings. But the biggest shock was when after using the solar for the first full billing cycle, I got a $400 bill from SoCal Edison. This was a 250% increase compared to same month last year. It was as if I had no solar and I'm paying even more. It is very frustrating to see a bill that high when you've spent more than $30k installing the solar. My project coordinator has told me that she can't do anything as the project has closed on her side (even though solar has not worked as expected even for a single day) and that I need to reach out to Axia service team, who have not been great in responding. I feel stuck. I had gone with them because they are a big company, had competitive prices and a manufacturer that does everything including installation. But so far my experience has been poor dealing with them. My advice to anyone reading this is go with another company, even if they are charging a little bit more money. It's not worth the hassle and risking it with such a big investment. read more

It's been a very smooth process so far. We've had the panels up for almost a week now and I'm pretty locked in on the app tracking how much energy we generate vs consume. We have a 4k PV + 10 kWh battery system from Axia that has been working and saving money on our electric bills, but if you are unlucky as we were, your experience with Axia could be a lengthy, confused saga. Axia had a good presales team, but a lot of your experience depends on the local company who is subcontracted to do your installation. By comparison, we referred a neighbor a few houses down, which seemed a good deal for both of us. His experience was much better, thanks to a different subcontractor who got it right the first time. Our system was contracted in October 2023. We expected delays because we were the first in our community so some of the rules and legal stuff had to be worked out with the HOA and settled in November. The major installation work was done February 2024. This was a somewhat disappointing experience because the inverter and the battery unit could have been located more optimally had the installation requirements been discussed ahead of time. E.g., there were some extra wire runs for grounding and emergency shutoff that could have been reduced. We were told to expect a crew to come within a week to commission the system. However, our crew apparently got laid off, and no one actually knew the state of the installation for several more months. In the meantime we were stuck in permit limbo, with some weird back-and-forth between the city inspectors and the subcontractor, so we had several rounds of inspections and corrections through early June 2024, when the Permit To Operate (PTO) was issued. At this time, Axia billed us for the rest of the contracted price, but no power was coming from the system. Trying to reach people at Axia/Qcells to resolve this, none of our initial contacts were still employed by the company. Since we weren't going to pay for a non-functioning system, we were able to get another installer crew to come at the end of June. They were able to turn on some solar production, but it was 40% of the output of my neighbor with the same hardware and same roof alignment. When we again received billing for the full balance, we paid up only 40% to get Qcells's attention. And so we had one more visit from yet another team from the subcontractor on July 25, 2024. They found mistakes in the initial team's work in February, such as a number of Tigo optimizers installed "backwards." After correcting the problems, our system was performing as expected, and we paid the remaining balance to Axia. That was too much work to make this all happen. read more

(3) When grid power went out, "battery backup" only kept three lights and two outlets going. Meanwhile, our neighbors, with solar installed by a competitor, had full power everywhere. I wish I could recommend Axia, and I wish we had read these reviews before signing on. We had not considered solar until a salesman showed up at our door. Initial meetings were positive and everything seemed to be laid out with details. Our rep for the pre install phase was good at keeping us in the loop. Nine panels were installed on the roof (we did not get a back up battery). The wiring was not completely pushed into our electrical box so that was an issue but they fixed it. The system was powered on at the beginning of October, but Axia claimed we hadn't received our permission to operate (PTO) from the city. After several weeks of back and forth with our rep, it was confirmed that we were indeed powered on. The only way to check the energy savings and solar production is through an Axia app, which we have not been able to install for over a month. WE have figured out our system cannot connect to the wifi (it's a hardware issue), which is why we can't get the app. We've sent numerous emails and messages and begged (now demanded) for proof from Axia that our system has been functioning properly. We paid our first month's solar bill. It's now been almost 2 months of ZERO communication back from Axia -- our rep is now stating how disappointed and frustrated he is with the company. So...we have a solar system, we think it's working (but no one can provide proof of that), we have no way to check our solar production, and we are now paying the monthly bill (which is also $2 more than what was stated in the contract). If anyone has a direct phone number that will connect me to an Axia human that can help us, I'd appreciate it. We are very much regretting signing on with Axia. read more

Now I pay Edison still and enfin which now I pay $400 a month more then I was without this. Please call me before you sign with this company. This company doesn't care about the customers they just care about making a sale no matter if they are knowingly screwing you over... Bob Anderson was my project coordinator for my solar project. He did a good job informing of the different stages of the project. He replied to all my questions and concerns. When I had concerns about completing the project before the end of 2025 because of the Federal Solar Incentive ending, he was able to accelerate the installation, so we had a nice buffer before the end of 2025. The physical installation was good but not perfect. However, Bob was able get the problem resolved. Overall, I'm happy with the installation and the project coordination. However, I did send Axia Support a question and never saw an answer. read more

Just had a salesperson come to my home and bang on the door 'til it was opened, notwithstanding an obvious (and polite) "No Soliciting, Please" sign prominently displayed at my door. Worse yet, the salesman claimed he was there "about the meter" and strongly implied he was with the electic company, and looking to gain entry to my property. It was only after he was asked to identify himself did he concede that he was a salesperson and not a government employee. Once caught, he started in with a script about the benefits of purchasing solar through Axia. Struck me as profoundly dishonest. Worse, I understand and believe that misrepresenting yourself as a government employee in order to induce a customer to make a purchase is unlawful. I will be filing a report regarding Axia's conduct at my home with the Federal Trade Commission and California DFPI. read more

Our salesperson/consultant was knowledgeable, experienced and thoughtful, and best of all, patient. The site survey was conducted by a veteran electrician. And everyone we dealt with thereafter was experienced and efficient. The design, construction and operation of the system unfolded exactly as they said it would. Also important to us, and unlike two other vendors, they were willing to work with us when we discovered that the special needs of our house (an aging roof area) required a major change to the system design. Looking at my experience as a whole thus far, I could not, in good conscience, recommend Axia by Qcells. Our sales rep was awesome. Transparent, professional and knowledgeable. He even helped connect us to a contractor to resolve a tricky roof repair that had to happen before the solar panels could be installed. It all went downhill during and after the installation. Basically, the person who was supposed to be our customer service rep was slow to respond if he responded at all. The customer service number went to voicemail (no response), messages sent to the customer service email went unanswered. Only after badgering our original sales rep, were we able to start the process of addressing two panels that were not working, One of which was simply not "plugged in."
