Melissa's work helped me tremendously as I healed from a fall/head injury. Really easy to tell how experienced she is by the ease in which she moves and the quickness in her assessment. You know a massage went really well when 2 hours feel like 30 min. Overall amazing person who genuinely cares about your health. Location is great. Has a very homey feel and that signature Austin touch to it. There's an inner sense of peace I feel as soon as I open the door. Still surprised you don't need to book her days in advance. Melissa is wonderful at what she does. This goes beyond a relaxing Swedish massage - this actually makes me feel better long-term. She figures out where you're the tightest and where things are causing problems, and works through them over multiple sessions. If you have an XYZ pain that's lasted for a long time, or a shoulder that just never feels right, please go see her before you try something more invasive! She's magical. I LOVED THIS PLACE. I feel like I've been to a handful of places in town to get a massage. In my opinion, this place has the best massage therapists --they really knew their stuff. I sit at a desk all day, like a lot of ATXers, and my Massage Therapist was very knowledgeable about what I can do better to feel better. I left feeling a little sore, but like...in a good way haha. My shoulders and upper body felt much better post massage, I felt refreshed, less stressed, aligned, more awake. I highly recommend. Real talk I wasn't planning on going back a second time due to the location being a good distance away from where I live and I'm not a huge fan of street parking - my mind changed completely within 10 minutes of my massage! I've had dozens of massages before and this was the first time I felt like a masseuse was actually able to make progress on my back and relief a lot of my back pain. I've never had a professional massage before, but due to having to do tons of repetitive movements at my job, I was extremely stiff and it felt painful to simply extend one of my arms. I scheduled an hour long massage with Elijah, and I was quite nervous, but he was extremely kind and accommodating. He answered every question I had and was very patient with me, and was extremely receptive to my concerns. The massage itself was incredible; I felt like my body has been positioned incorrectly for so long, and he finally started to put it back where it belonged. I felt extremely light and flexible, something I hadn't felt in months. He even gave me advice as to how to work on my posture/positioning so that I could keep myself centered and not bring anything out of place again, and it has been incredibly helpful. If a resort spa "fluffy feeling" massage is what you want this may not be the place for you. And I mean that as a compliment. When I get a massage I want to feel results not just have oil rubbed on me. Form + Function massages are all about healing and fixing pain throughout the body. I had John on my recent visit, and WOW! He was really focused on the power of pressure points and it was magical! He would be putting pressure on a point in my back and I would feel the release of pressure in unexpected places of my neck and shoulders. It was incredible! It's a massage, but they use a completely different technique than I've experienced before, and it's not that great. Instead of kneading out the knots, they just lean into them and stay there for a while. You'll feel more relaxed when you leave, but I've had much better massages. I wouldn't go back. read more

Although I did not think I was full of "knots" or tightness, I decided to get a massage for my well being and performance. I've been going to her regularly for deep tissue massages for years, and she always does a great job of getting my back and neck to relax (which is not easy). Both Melissa and Dan are clearly experienced in multiple techniques and can do everything from a relaxing restorative massage to painful-in-a-good-way deep tissue work to target specific problem areas.
