The pizza and salad redeemed this place. When you walk up to this place just like every other restaurant in every other airport there is a kiosk to order food. We ordered our food from the kiosk. We then proceeded to dining area of the restaurant. The employee got very upset and started yelling at us, "NEXT TIME YOU ORDER WITH ME, YOU ORDER WITH ME". There were no signs at that said "dine in order with the server". They legit have kiosks that say, "Order, Pay, Pickup". The odds of me flying out of that airport, on that airline, from the same side of the terminal, being there on the same that guy is working is rare. So, don't tell me to order with you. Just put up a sign instructing future customers to order with "you". read more

Airport food doesn't always have to be bad and Forge Pizza has the pizza pies to forge a new norm! Located within the domestic terminal at Oakland Airport, you'll find a few eateries as you walk up and down the corridor of gates. Forge Pizza is just a little ways left from where you enter after going through security and is baking up some hot and fresh personal pizza pies for you to consume at the bar or take with you elsewhere. This small operation can sometimes have 3-5 people on staff to serve the hungry and thirsty passengers and the churn is quick. Each pizza takes about 15-20 minutes to cook up from order so factor that into your schedule ahead of time. As you walk up to the bar, you may decide to park yourself at one of the stools or simply order your food via one of the two kiosks they have available. The touch screen is sometimes not too responsive so if you don't want to deal with it, ask one of their servers to help you out. As with most airport food, they come at a premium and you'll likely end up shelling out about $30 a pizza factoring tax but when hunger strikes and you're looking to feed your body with a treat, the quality is worth it. The portions aren't huge but one pizza was filling enough for one hungry person but I can see it being shareable between two. I gravitated toward the mushroom and sausage pizza and it hit the spot, the sausage were flavorful and the mushrooms were juicy. The sauce really put it all together with each bite, the cheese was melty, and the dough was a crispy canvas baked perfectly to be devoured. The slices were cut into fourths and were still big enough to be folded as to not drop any of those succulent toppings. I took mine on the go and it survived the hustle to my gate and retained its heat quite well. Overall, Forge Pizza gets you that stone oven baked pizza taste at the convenience within the airport and with a bar available, frequent flyers have a place to hang out during layovers or probably more accurately recently, missed, delayed or cancelled flights. The pizza is certainly pricey compared to other pizza joints but the airport real estate is an expensive one. Staff are friendly despite the occasional rushes and grumpy flyers. Food may take a while to prepare but if you're not in a rush, make your way over and get a personal pizza that will be tastier than almost anything you'll find in this terminal. They specialize in hand tossed woodfired pizzas, and I got the Fat Boy (bacon, italian sausage, pickled peppers, red onion, house made red sauce, parmesan, and mozzarella). Waiting for my flight, I really wanted a Greek yogurt but found out that most place stop serving breakfast at 10am here. Looking for something healthy, I found a restaurant that served salad which I was going to order, but turned to the right to see someone's burger, then the Oakland Burger was my new choice with French fries. I was immediately greeted by a friendly server, and he let me take my time to look over the menu. The burger arrived looking beautiful with a cute basket of fries on the side. I'm so happy to have tried it. I appreciate a well cooked burger and today, Forge has accomplished that. read more

I will try the pizza next time. I had Caesar salad with huge prawns and an order of fries. The fries were hot and seasoned! If u order the salad Togo they do not toss it in the dressing unless you ask. They are a little heavy on the dressing. The lettuce was fresh and the croutons were good too! Full bar also. Adrien) Discriminatory Treatment and Poor Service I am writing to formally report an extremely disappointing experience I had at the bar during my recent visit. 3/16/26 1:25-1:50 I sat at the bar for approximately 25 minutes without receiving any service. When I politely asked the bartender, Adrien, a question about the menu, he responded that he had just started his shift and asked me to give him a moment. However, shortly after that, he proceeded to assist patrons who had just arrived and were seated next to me, while continuing to ignore me. During this time, I was not offered a menu, a drink, or even basic acknowledgment. I also asked for a lime and was ignored. Meanwhile, Adrien made sure to offer menus and service to the patrons beside me, even though my original question had been about the menu itself. The other bartender working alongside him also did not acknowledge me and continued serving other customers around me. The only person who checked on me was a woman from the kitchen, and I truly appreciated her kindness. Even the couple seated next to me noticed the situation and apologized, saying they saw that I had been there first. I reassured them that it was okay, but the experience left me feeling humiliated and deeply disappointed. I have never met this bartender before, and I visit this bar approximately once a month. Being completely ignored while others were served ahead of me felt unacceptable and, unfortunately, gave the impression of discriminatory treatment. I also took a photo documenting that I was seated and waiting. I am submitting this complaint so the situation can be properly reviewed. I hope management will take this matter seriously and address the conduct of the staff involved so that other customers do not have to experience the same treatment. read more

Me & the Mr had some extra time pre-flight and this was the closest dining location with a bar. Very casual and open, excellent for people watching. A few tv screens too if you're not as interested in the passersby! You can either order from a kiosk located at the bar near the kitchen, or take a seat and be served. Our server (I believe his name is Brandon) was very cool. He made excellent drinks and was a bit chatty and humorous but also gave us space to dine and enjoy each other's company as well. We ordered two rounds of drinks and a Fat Boy, which I have to say is one of the best pizzas I've had in my life. Jessica the Rabbit was my favorite cocktail, but I also enjoyed the Pink Fang. My husband ordered a cappuccino martini and a Mexican Firing Squad, which gave him the opportunity to introduce a fun new cocktail to the bartender who had never heard of it! Better than your average airport pizza that's for sure. Located in Terminal 2 (Southwest) on the corridor with bar seating that faces the walkway (if you want to people watch like me) and outside (non-runway) field that is a nice calming view. The upside to this location, is that they have TVs with live sports... the downside, way too expensive. The Service at the bar counter was great, and it was less than a 10 min wait for my pizza to come. It feels like a happy hour social setting so I can't be mad. If you travel a lot, it's on par $$$ with everything else in the airport, which again, is WAY too expensive. The Pizza however was good (hot & ready) and that was great. Marghertia ran me just under $20. I also managed to fill up my container with ice for the next leg of my trip. I then asked for a side of red sauce and my server seemed to be paying just enough attention to me to stress himself out, even though there were five people total in the restaurant. If you are not vegan or picky about beer, this is the place for you. They are not accommodating and have limited selection on everything. I ordered a club soda, which ended up costing five dollars (WTF?) They do play good music. I am not saying that this place should not be here, I'm just thinking that they should try harder with hospitality and inclusivity. All in all for the price was not worth it. The food here is delicious best in the airport. The mushroom Sausage was tasty everything made by hand takes about 10-15 min wait. If busy max is about 20 mins. A little pricy but well worth it. I was a patron of Forge in JLS since it opened. Decided to get to the airport early to eat here since I missed it. Sadly, it didn't live up to past experiences. Ordered the cheese curds and half of them were empty (as in, just breading). Ordered the pepperoni pizza and it was mostly sauce. One piece of jalapeno, the equivalent of maybe 1.5 olives, seemingly no red onion. Mozz was sparse. There were basically only four or five decent bites out of the entire pizza. And because there is one person working the entire space - taking drink orders, making drinks, and delivering food - my pizza sat for about 15 minutes before being given to me. I was happy to pay airport prices for the JLS quality, but sadly the airport version didn't cut it. And be mindful of your tab - if you're inactive for 40 minutes without closing it out, it's an automatic 20% surcharge (even if you already tipped on whatever you ordered). read more
