So so disappointing. It felt like everything that could have went wrong, went wrong. We go up to order and they tell us they're not serving fries due to the smoke from the grill? It took almost 30 minutes for our burgers to come out, and when they did, they were so mid. Flavor was totally lacking despite us getting grilled onions and pickles added to their "usual". The cheese wasn't melted and it was grossing me out just sitting on top of the patty. My fiancé got a beer, and when it was given to him it was warm which we thought was weird. I overheard the server telling another couple that complained about it that their cooler is broken and he forgot to tell them, all beer is sitting in ice which essentially does nothing. This is my favorite burger place. They make it on the spot, so you always get a fresh burger. It's soooo good. Love the brioche bun and the bacon jam. My first time, I got double patty and honestly it was too much food. My go-to now is single patty and it's the perfect ratio. Located on Old County, in what looks to appear like a garage. Parking can be difficult since it's mainly street parking. Inside gives sports bar vibe since they have so many TVs. Service was friendly and accommodating! The only thing is, getting your burger can take some time if there are many orders ahead. They take their time to make your burger so you have to be patient. But it's worth the wait!! read more

The burgers here are amazing! Juicy patty and it's not overwhelmed with a ton of condiments. Their fries are mediocre though, perhaps their oil is not changed out very often? My husband picked up togo for our entire family (a large order). Beware of calling in an order, it routes to the owner or manager and when we were told to text our order, I knew it may have sounded too good to be true. My husband arrives thinking the order will be ready but it turns out their kitchen never received it. He waits there and they were kind and gracious enough to comp him a beer while the order was being made. Luckily we weren't in a hurry. Probably best to just eat there but not with a large group. Get you some of this caramelized goodness! Tried both the Original and the Hella Jalapeño and loved both; the jalapeño is more my style and will be in heavy rotation. The entire interior is for seating and as other folks noted, the grilling is done outside in front of the unmarked building. Looks like they might still be growing into their space but it makes no difference to the burgers you'll start craving. Fun pop up burger place. It looks like they converted a garage workshop into a restaurant/bar. Because of the garage door being open it's very open air and breezy inside! They cook the burgers outside on a grill. The regular burger was fine, pretty decent. It was a bit oily though and you could see the oil pooling at the bottom of the plate. I did think the bacon jam was a tiny bit too sweet so I would try a different sauce next time. I also didn't get any spicy sauce on my burger and I felt like it needed something spicy so I'll probably get jalapeños or the spicy sauce next time! The burgers here are excellent, and the shoestring fries are very reminiscent of McDonald's fries but even better- with the right amount of seasoning and the taste that the oil they use is not old! We ordered the usual with a double patty and a side of fries, this totaled out to be around $20 after tax. The patties here are excellent and the sauce is definitely thousand island/In n Out esque, I see the appeal of smashburgers after trying Tapp'd. Parking may be a tad difficult since the road this is on is inhabited by plenty of auto shops, but the visit is well worth it. The bar also offers a variety of board games like Jenga, Connect 4, and Mancala! I wish Tapp'd great success and look forward to many more visits. read more

Among the body shops on Old County Road, there's a little hole in the wall taproom, serving 15 local brews (so far), served up by the shmash_d family. Their legendary burgers are still grilled open air with plenty of habanero sauce (or not, if you're not a fan), bacon jam, cheese and fresh jalapeños. For we who follow them, it means I always know where to grab one of their burgers or a bottle of their sauce. No more chasing them around. Went on a Friday and the business hours listed here is NOT correct. Says it opens at 3:00 but dies not open till 4:00. Regardless, we decided to run dime errands in the area and waited. As we walked in a few minutes after they finally opened, there were already 2-3 tables of ppl in there with beer, so we thought maybe this is a good sign that it's good. What a disappointment though. We waited 45 minutes for our food and the place had gotten packed with not an empty seat in house. my husband got up to check and see what was taking so long. Hubby came back with our burgers and fries to the table and my side of honey mustard I ordered was missing, so, he had to go check on it and they told him they were out. Both the burgers and fries were so salty. We managed to eat the burgers because we were hungry waiting for em to open and hadn't eaten all day but couldn't even eat the fries. Burgers also did not taste like there were any bacon jam on em either. I thought it would be too much stuff to pack between two buns but it was manageable and the combination of flavors worked together in perfect harmony. We showed up on a Sunday right at Noon when they opened. We were the first to order. 45 minutes later we finally got food. 45 MINUTES FOR 2 burgers and 2 fries. How was the staff not prepared and ready to go? That's restaurant 101. We observed 4-5 guys standing around in the outside kitchen the entire time. WTAF! The same happened to the 5 other groups after us. How can you fk up a burger and not get it out in 15 minutes or less ? The place has a good beer list and a great vibe. Maybe we were to White? Maybe my AMEX platinum card was too shiny? The burgs were salt bombs and fries were cold and undercooked. My dog would not eat here The sauce was nothing but sugar.. Found this place on yelp and the photos caught my attention. Amazing mouth watering food. Worth every minute of the wait. I don't usually like burgers but these were exceptional! Perfectly cooked meat, fresh ingredients, their signature sauce was drinkable I got extra for my fries. Wish I lived closer so I could visit more. Went here with the family and was real happy with the decision. I hit up most of the breweries and tap rooms along the peninsula and was excited to find another close by. They have a good selection of local beers and styles. They also have a good set up of tvs to watch some sports, plus some board games. It's in a non descript location so it's easy to miss it. There is only street parking but it's a quick walk from the Belmont Caltrain. On top of all that they serve Smash'd burgers, which are always good. read more
