Allegra Events recently had the pleasure of producing and illuminating a large-scale corporate holiday party at Devil's Canyon Brewing Company, and we absolutely loved both the venue and the team. The space itself is fantastic--versatile, energetic, and perfect for high-impact events.The venue expanded the footprint by adding a tented area in the back and successfully hosted 1,000++ guests for a major power company's holiday celebration. The atmosphere was electric, the crowd was engaged, and the night was an absolute hoot. A huge shout-out to Lena, the Event Manager, who was wonderful to work with from start to finish--professional, responsive, and truly on top of every detail. Went here recently on a friday evening, when they foodtrucks and live music. Its a spacious brewery, with indoor and outdoor seating . So plenty of place . They had 2 food trucks on the day I was there. I tried the 'Satay by the bay' which had some good vegan / vegetarian options. An interesting mix of beers on tap. Worked a team builder at Devils Canyon and didn't realize how spacious it was. There's a small area to park so come early if possible. People are very friendly and very helpful. There's a nice open area when you walk in and then another area in the back outside with more space with bars inside and out. A great venue to host anything. My company hosted a holiday happy hour here, the event space is quite nice. Good selection of beers and drinks. There were a bunch of finger foods, only vegan option was some samosas which were yummy but we ran out of everything super quickly. Not sure if this is on the event space or the organizers but there was nowhere near enough food. read more

There's so many indoor and outdoor spaces--there was an indoor holiday fair with small businesses, and outside had a lot of food trucks. Came on a Friday night, the only day the taproom is open to the public. The atmosphere consists of live music, food trucks, open patio, and a Jumbotron inside showing sports games. It's a dog and family friendly spot with lots of space to hang out. The beer was just okay. Tried a few IPAs, none were bad, but nothing really stood out either. Pretty average. Surprisingly, the housemade root beer was their highlight. Just a heads up, no outside food allowed, even though old reviews suggest and they enforce it strictly and rudely. We had 2 leftover pizza slices and got stopped at the parking lot entrance by the staff member checking IDs who gave us a sharp lecture. Conversation: Staff: "Is that food?" Me: "Yes." Staff: "We don't allow outside food!" I get wanting to support the food trucks, especially since they don't have an onsite kitchen, but the tone felt aggressive and unnecessary. It came across more like a power trip than a friendly policy reminder. There really should be a visible sign about this rule. I ended up eating the pizza in the parking lot before going in. Not a great first impression. Come for the vibe, the music, and the community feel, not necessarily for the beer and definitely not with your own food. read more

I hosted a party at Devil's Canyon Brewing Company in December, 2025 and received many, many compliments from our guests. It was great working with the event staff. They gave me a lot of help with the arrangements and service, including scheduling a couple of food trucks to cater the event. (I left separate 5-star reviews for the food trucks: Mozzeria and Little Green Cyclo). The bar at Devil's Canyon had a great selection of beer, plus wine and non-alcoholic beverages. Speaking of which, the owner of Devil's Canyon was behind the bar at the beginning of the party. It was nice to meet him, and to see that he took a personal interest in ensuring that everything was going well. All in all, I strongly recommend Devil's Canyon for hosting a private event! I've also enjoyed going to Devil's Canyon for beer Fridays, private events, and public events. It's not like I'm there very often, but when I go it seems like everyone is having a great time. Plus, it's really nice to be able to support a local business. read more

Came here this past Friday to check out The Whimsy: A Midsummer Night's Market, an event encouraging fairy wings and costume, offering tarot readings on site, candles and items related to witchcraft and magic for sale, vendors like Fierce Siren Studios selling quirky jewelry, art, and accessories. Lots of booths in an outdoor courtyard with loads of tables and seating, as well as more vendors and crafts inside a second building. The main building had a bar with some very tantalizing beer offerings on the menu (a second bar was located in the outdoor courtyard area). I got All The Chocolate, which I really enjoyed. It had been quite some time since I last had beer... but I figured it was international beer day, plus this place had some great options, so why not. Had to go with some wine too, just a cab, not many options for red wine as this place is all about the beer. The four food trucks on site were more than sufficient in providing plenty of good eats to choose from, vietnamese, mexican, poke and seafood, as well as chicken dishes (the chicken sandwich and waffle fries from Respectable Bird were super tasty). The service at Devil's Canyon was outstanding too, all the employees were professional and helpful and put great effort into creating a positive experience for guests. They maintained the cleanliness of the brewery as well. And it was such a lovely and spacious setting, with live music happening inside the main building, the musicians on stage playing songs like Tennessee Whiskey and Tom Petty's Free Fallin, it was all quite therapeutic for me. I would certainly return to try more of the beers and of course for special events, as they seem to be well organized and executed here. read more

This review is specifically for Devils Canyon Brewery as a private event venue, not their public taproom. As a professional event planner who hosted a client event here this past June, I am compelled to share my experience. This was my client's second event at DCB and will be the last. The entire process was a disaster from start to finish. The planning phase was defined by chaos and constant turnover. Despite beginning nine months in advance, we cycled through three different event managers. Each time someone new came on board, we had to start over--re-explaining logistics, re-confirming agreements, and renegotiating items that had already been settled. These resets inevitably led to "compromises" or surprise charges because "the previous person shouldn't have agreed to that." We weren't asking for anything extraordinary, just consistency and professionalism. Instead, we were treated as though expecting reliability was unreasonable. At one point, an event manager shared that Chris, the owner, had recently cancelled another client's event on the spot when faced with negative feedback to dissuade us from confronting Chris with our own issues. That level of hostility is completely unacceptable. On the event day, the staff was disorganized and unprepared. Despite a meticulously detailed floor plan and multiple meetings, the space was not ready at the agreed-upon time. Instead of executing, the staff peppered us with last-minute questions that should have been resolved months earlier, eating into critical setup time. Chris, the owner, was on-site. Rather than taking accountability, he openly disparaged his former employees in front of me, my team, and vendors. It was an unprofessional and uncomfortable display that set the tone for the day. Yes, we salvaged the event, and yes, guests had fun. This was only because of my team's skill and determination. No client should have to absorb that level of stress, and no planner should have to compensate for such incompetence. To make matters worse, the financial side was equally painful. Throughout planning, we were nickel-and-dimed for things that should have been standard inclusions. Then, after the event, it took six weeks to close out billing because of constant disputes over erroneous charges. Ultimately, we received only a token deduction, nowhere near worth the aggravation. Devils Canyon Brewery may have a space with potential, but it is fatally undermined by mismanagement, turnover, disorganization, and a blatant disregard for the client experience. Buyer beware: If you value reliability, professionalism, and transparency, look elsewhere. This venue will cost you far more in time, stress, and frustration than it could ever deliver in value. read more

Fun place, lots of space. Food trucks just ok. Avoid the "famous BBQ" food truck -- one of the worst, most dry overcooked hamburgers I've ever had. They forgot all the toppings and when I returned to have them put them on, they acted like it was an imposition. read more

Popped in on a Tuesday at 1:30 pm. Google and Yelp said they should be open. I entered and there was a sign at the front desk saying they were open, come to the bar. I went to the bar and the entire place was dark, not a soul in sight. No signs of life whatsoever, could have just started pulling my own draft beer. I didn't realize how much my husband enjoyed drinking from the Devil's Canyon pint glasses at home until the four glasses we owned had broken over time. His 70th birthday was in a week, and he's usually impossible to buy for. I called Devil's Canyon, explained my plight, and within a few days I had 8 matching pint glasses. We have been big fans of Devil's Canyon for a long time but never had the chance to visit because they are only open on Friday. Parking can be a bit of an issue depending on when you get there. We were greeted right away and walked into the large inside area where the bar is. There is a stage on one side and tables and couches in the area. There is also a large outdoor area where there are usually 2-3 food trucks. Lots of options to choose from. We ordered our beers (they have a good selection) and headed outside as we had our dogs. Well behaved kids are also allowed. Everyone seems to be having a good time and met a lot of people and their dogs. The restrooms are back towards where you come into the building. My fiance (now wife!) and I got married in October of this year. We had an intimate ceremony at SF City Hall and were in need of a chill, laid-back venue to host our reception at. We're both huge beer lovers and naturally, breweries were among our top choice of places we wanted to host our gathering at. We visited quite a few different breweries and ended up booking our reception with Devil's Canyon Brewing Company. These guys specialize in private events (they're actually only open one day of the week to the public, the other days are all for private events) and it shows. Orestes, Agathe, and the rest of the team at Devil's Canyon were highly professional, accommodating, and friendly, and made our big day extra special. Our guests raved about the venue, specifically how intimate it felt given our headcount of about 50 guests. We rented our the barrel room which gave our event a private feel despite the rest of the brewery being open to the public, and we even got to use their AV to play a slideshow and our own music. The brews were fantastic and the food trucks on-site were a hit, giving our guests tons of options and generous portion sizes. Overall, we are extremely happy with how our big day turned out and can't thank the folks at Devil's Canyon enough for being a part of it. On Fridays from 4 to 10pm, Devil's Canyon is open to the public for beer tasting and food. Food is available from rotating food trucks (typically two to three every Friday). They have a good selection of some interesting beers - 18 in all the day we went. They also offer root beer and wine. On Saturdays through Thursdays, they are closed to the public, but available for private events for parties of 20 or more. They will also host parties on Fridays, but use a separate room for that to allow the public in. Our family checked out the scene on a Friday when they had a Vietnamese food truck and an Italian sandwich food truck. We went for the banh mi sandwiches which paired well with their Spare the Air hazy IPA. They have live music at 6pm and we were entertained by a very good guitar player / singer (Nate Walker) who played pop and rock songs spanning the past 30 years. The IPA and music were excellent. The sandwiches were good. The atmosphere is very open and roomy so we never felt crowded. All the employees were very friendly. We'll come back to try other food. This is one of those places that's worth going to if you plan to be in the area. But not knowing what food they will serve from week to week, it doesn't warrant a special trip. read more

My husband's team has been going here for years but I just made my first visit recently. Overall it's a great spacious option for Friday night happy hour and apparently quite kid friendly. Pros: Huge amount of space, indoors, outdoors, in nooks, partitioned areas. You'll find somewhere to be with your group. Live music, if that is your thing. It's apparently a thing for my 3 year old who was enthralled and cheering yayyyy top of lungs. Good selection of brews. Very fam friendly for a bar - don't be surprised if preschoolers are diving in and out between your friends. Cons: Doesn't seem to have a consistent menu? Food options looked like it was whatever food truck is there. Not sure if it's consistently the same ones or these change. Would prefer something I can plan ahead with pickier eaters (eg little kids) Can be loud for obvious reasons. Parking, while a huge lot, is crowded and poorly lit. Only open on fridays! This review is long overdue! This is a local family owned business which is very dear to the heart of the community. Our favorite place to go to as a family with young kids. Every Friday they have live music, food trucks, open space for kids to hang out. We have also attended many school and community events here and their event planning and hosting is impeccable! I had the pleasure of meeting the owners once and they seemed to be very friendly, kind, and family oriented folks. The beer is amazing! All brews are different from each other and cater to all tastes. The staff is so friendly too! Once I forgot my purse there at a big event and woke up the panicking the next day when I realized it. "Huge beer garden + Root Beer Floats!" This Beer garden is located in an industrial area of San Carlos. It is a huge area with tons of tables and lots of shaded areas. There is plenty of free parking on Bayport Avenue, right next to the Garden. Devil's Canyon specializes in big events. Right on the property they have a big dining hall as well as a huge inside pub area. The events were paused during the covid crisis, but are expected to begin again soon. This location used to be owned by Tesla, before they got really big, and started sending people into outer space and things like that. I don't know for sure, but I'm pretty sure Devil's Canyon will not be building spaceship anytime soon. I found the employees to be super friendly and helpful. They had a big selection of beer today, so I got a Pilsner, followed up later with a root beer float. When was the last time you had a root beer float at a brewery? They make their own root beer here, and you can get four packs to go. So all around an outstanding experience. I enjoyed their beer, the friendly people, and of course their root beer. Special thanks to the friendly bartender, John. One last thing--check out the Little Free Library near the building on Washington. I didn't realize this brewing 'company' was actually a Big space for events until recently at our holiday party. It is a huge space and they have some good beer, great staff, parking around and on the street and... also have WINE for the Non-Beer drinkers.. so that was really amazing. I am not a beer person but occasionally can take a glass of the pale ale or fruity ones or seltzer's or the Chocolate crumbl beer that this place has which doesn't taste like beer at all, so Voila!! I did try the Deadicated beer and liked it, definitely something I could drink again. Nice brewery with an expansive outdoor area. Inside is where you'll find the live band. I prefer the outdoor area to hang out with my pup. Lots of seating areas. I recommend getting there by 5 so you can snag a bench near the heaters in the sectioned off area. The beers are pretty good and they also have food trucks. The best part about this place is that you can bring your dog along with you for a brew. My main gripe is the parking here can get difficult as they share with a restaurant supply shop next door and street parking is impossible if the lot parking runs out. Other than that, get here before 6 and you're golden. read more

I have been coming to Devil's Canyon since it's very early days. I now have a toddler and still really enjoy it. My kid said "Beer Friday" before most other words. He loves it there, especially the arcade room, the dancing, and looking for Beer Kitty (RIP). We are still learning to follow the rules (no running!), but I so appreciate that this is a safe place for me to bring my kid and that people look out for each other. The staff is truly awesome and the beer is excellent. Love their new cider too. We really enjoy the live music, the people, and the atmosphere. This place looks very industrial as you pull in the parking lot. Lots of parking space though. In reality, once you step in, it's a whole different experience. This place is fun. The person at the reception and bartenders are cool and friendly. I don't drink beer, so can't write a review for that. Root beer, however, is really tasty. Had both root beer and root beer float. One of the best root beers I've had. Very smooth, light and lightly sweetened. They have large indoor seating area, as well as plenty of open air seating, heaters and 3 different food trucks - Vietnamese, Grill/Burgers and Mexican. Live music on Friday evenings. I got vegetarian sliders from the grill, really good. Live music throughout the night, on Friday evenings, which makes the ambience even more pleasant and relaxing and peppy at the same time.
