Barebottle Menlo Park is consistently an amazing place to be! The space is spotless, bright, and welcoming. The staff here are genuinely kind, knowledgeable without being pretentious, and always happy to offer a small tasting if you're on the fence with your choice. Their beer is insanely good, especially the hazy pale ales, which are easily some of my favorites in the Bay Area. The taproom itself has a relaxed, community vibe with comfy couches, fun pinball machines, and a huge selection of board games. They also serve food on-site (the pizza and empanadas are perfect for snacking), which makes it an easy choice for groups. Barebottle has become such a staple for me-- particularly the Menlo Park location. I always find that the service here is extremely friendly and helpful. It's nice to hear in-depth about their brews and get real recommendations. Brews themselves are delicious. I typically lean towards lighter beers, but even their stouts are awesome. I do find a bit more selection of food at this location vs Santa Clara, having really enjoyed the pizzas they offer here. Parking in this area can be a bit difficult, I recommend parking towards the CalTrain station and walking over. One star off for price, as this is a pricier experience. However, the ambiance, indoor/outdoor seating, and great service make this a safe bet whenever I'm looking for a fun place to take friends. read more

If it's not evident by my last review, Barebottle continues to be my FAVORITE place! This time was especially special because I threw my partner a birthday party here (peep the setup in the photos :)). I cannot recommend this brewery enough. Reservations were simple, they allow outside food, it's kid/pet friendly, and everyone is extremely nice. We had an AMAZINGG time! Most of our guests were pretty new to beer, but they really enjoyed it and talk about it to this day. Also, this location has an area that's "semi-private." You're still in the action, but basically have a section dedicated to your party. This was definitely a highlight when looking for a party venue. Thanks to the wonderful staff: Matt, Jay, Pat, and Vee (hope I spelled everyone's name right) for making the whole experience memorable!!! My husband and I love Barebottle and the MP location is no exception! We came here recently towards closing for a quick pint and were helped by a team of friendly staff. They have arcade games here just like the other locations, and a wide variety of beers to choose from. My husband got the flagship Muir Woods Hazy IPA, and I got a rice lager which was delicious. There is outdoor seating and indoor seating as well. It seems a bit more quiet than the Santa Clara location but it could have just been the time and day we went there. The only downside was the cushions and chairs in the outdoor seating area were a little dirty and stained; it made the area less inviting than it could be. But overall, a great experience! read more

I came here to meet with some friends on Sunday and it was great! I love that they have options for beverages without alcohol. We ordered two pizzas (cheese and sausage) and they were pretty good- I preferred the one with sausage as I'm not a huge fan of parmesan on pizza and the cheese one was pretty parmesan-heavy. I had the kombucha and the iced coffee and both were good! They have an assortment of board games available to play. You order food and drinks at the counter and then get a buzzer to let you know when they're ready to pick up. This is a fun, casual spot to meet up with people! This is a great place to have a beer before catching a show at The Guild Theater down the street - which is exactly what we did! The bartenders are friendly, the atmosphere is chill, and the beer is tasty! I had a hazy IPA and my husband had a West Coast IPA. We knew that the focus of Barebottle Brewing is not food but they do offer empanadas and flatbreads. We decided to get a couple mushroom empanadas and a couple spinach empanadas ($6 each). Cool place, beers are good as usual and the service was great and its nice that they let you bring it outside food or events or just cuz. Tip on reserving stuff. You probably don't need to reserve any longer than 1-2 hours. You guys will be there already and then most likely people wont lounge in your area. Its a tight place however so if you reserve the lounge you'll want to reserve picnic tables FOR SURE. There is not much room to store food or anything like that read more

I'm was excited to see a bunch of new brewpubs pop on the peninsula this summer, including Ghostwood (Redwood City), Hapa (San Carlos) and now this one. I'm very familiar with Barebottle as a brewer; they tend to focus on hazy IPAs. And they put their recipes on their cans (love that!). But these days I pretty much avoid hazies (they're just too fruity and sweet for me). And they're so...2018. Nevertheless, after a local hike some friends and I decided to stop by out of sheer curiosity. Unfortunately we were hungry too, and that's where we ran into a brick wall. The only offerings were a selection of (tiny) empanadas, a pretel, and a flatbread. All so...glutenicious; and not really a meal. And since my friend R has Crohn's, she was out of luck. (Note: Bringing in outside food is OK, but there was nothing else open within reasonable walking distance). I ended up ordering a mushroom empanada to tide me over - it was pre-made, tiny (4 bites) and obviously warmed up in a toaster oven, but It did the job as a quick app. Barely. As for a beer, I ordered one of the two west coast IPAs on the menu: Sunset Fresh. It was well-made beer, but it didn't knock my socks off. (3.5*). I did like the indoor space here, despite it feeling a little antiseptic. They offered several, high, bench-style tables, some video games, and some leather couches in back. We wanted to sit outside, but there was almost no shade to be found on a hot, sunny, Saturday afternoon. (Note to BB: An investment in some umbrellas or canopies would go a long way). After one beer here in full sun, we decided to head somewhere else that had a full menu where we could site outside in shade (Freewheel Brewing; about 5 minutes away). But since BB is close to me, I do plan on the occasional revisit to see how this location can start filling in the blanks; if they do I'll adjust my rating accordingly. read more

I hosted a party here in one of their rooms. They were so nice, great, and accommodating, they even had an extra table we could use. They were very helpful. Jason was our go to bartender and he was very attentive. In general - for parties, I picked this location because there's different options of spaces to choose from and I also love that you can taste everything. They have wine options and not just beer. Their own Ginger-cola is so delicious. You can't miss it, even though it'snon-alcoholic. And I just could not get enough of the empanadas. We were all just eating up all of the empanadas. They were all so delicious. I even took them home with me. I heard the pizza was good too, but I didn't personally try any. read more

Very nice brewery located in Menlo Park. Had dinner close by and wanted to drop by for a drink. Parking in the area was easy, and there was a parking lot close by. Their beers are good, not my favorite brewery but everything tasted fine. I felt like the prices here are more expensive for a flight compared to other places, after tip it was $32+. Service was great! Typical brewery, it was pretty loud and even more so with the arcade games. Otherwise, I prefer layout and interior of this location compared to the one in SF. read more

I live nearby, and love the Trivia night event here. The host is incredible. I also love the fact that they have a huge indoor and outdoor seating area, pinball machines, Boardgames etc. I see a lot of beers on tap. I don't drink alcohol, so can't write a review for that. I would really appreciate if they upped their food game though. When I visited the first few times, I got mushroom empanadas. While pricey, they tasted really good and had a really good texture, not greasy at all. However, this past Saturday, $6.5 mushroom empanadas were soggy and really fell short of expectations. We also got a pretzel and that wasn't good either. Servers are nice and friendly. They answer all the questions and always greet you with a smile. read more

Menlo Park definitely needed a place like this! Barebottle is located in the new Springline complex. It's great for hanging out with plenty of benches/tables, a little lounge area with a couch and chairs (and a TV with Nintendo Switch), pinball machines, and of course, great beer. They also have some outdoor seating. I enjoyed the raspberry stout, and they have a lot of sours on tap. They also have wine if you're not a beer drinker. Vibes are definitely chill and the staff were super nice and accommodating. It's also family friendly as we brought our babies and noticed several other families doing the same, lol. You can also buy some of their canned beers to go. Food options are limited but you can order empanadas and a pretzel. There's lots of new restaurants opening nearby though so you can just stop by there after getting a few brews. Alternatively, you can also BYOF (bring your own food)! Parking is either street parking or in the complex garage. 10/10 can see this being our new go-to spot to chill. read more

Special thanks to the staff member who when I called yesterday went and looked for my dog's WaterRover and put it in what I assume is their lost and found. Great brewery situated in Menlo Park. Parking can get a little tricky if you arrive closer to lunch or dinner time as it's close to a popular restaurant, Thai Farmhouse. There are indoor and outdoor seating. If you have large parties of 8+, you can make reservations online which is nice. It's a great place to grab a beer and unwind or to simply catch up with friends. There are board games if you wind up sitting inside. The staff here is friendly. Prices are reasonable. Their merch consists of cool t-shirts, jackets, caps, beanies, mugs, wine glasses, and more. Placed in a very beautiful area. It is prime dog watching and you will most definitely see some doggos walk by from time to time. The outside has comfy patio furniture, while the inside has some awesome pinball machines (Rick n Morty, Jurassic Park, and a couple others.) The beer selection is top notch and is categorized by style, (IPA, lighter beers, reds, etc) price is close to 8 dollars for a full pour which for the location and view is acceptable. This is our favorite spot right now because it is a great place to unwind after a stressful day/work week. The servers are some of the nicest I've encountered from a brewery in the area. Came here for a beer last night. Service was good. I had the "hella hetchy" and it was really good. The place was nice and clean. Nothing to complain about. There was a sign that said service animals only, but Im pretty sure none of the dogs were actually service dogs. I like dogs so its not a big deal, but thought I'd point that out. There was a good amount of seating outside too for those who don't like dogs. There was a fridge for to-go beer cans that can't be opened in the store. I suggest the store put in a price list. Tried looking around for one but couldn't find one. For entertainment, there were some tvs around, a nintendo switch, and some pinball machines (there was a change machine inside). There was some food options that you can purchase at the counter, but I didn't try any. It'd be nice if the shop offered light snack options like peanuts or chips.
