The balls (meatball sandwich)
Steve W.

What would you expect to get at the airport? Quick and easy food at a good price. Nailed it on all fronts! $17 for a monster meatball sandwich and the taste is divine. Has a little kick in the sauce so don't expect boring Subway here. Yummy. Nice gal at the counter and cool little seating area to eat. Highly recommend of you are in the high 20's gates for Southwest at OAK. Enjoy

Well I went here for breakfast and got the Southwest burrito. It had avocado, beans hash browns and tasted like an omelet. The burrito costs $14.5 dollars and charged an extra $4 for taxes and other stuff which is not surprising. I got the burrito really quick like in minutes so I was surprised it tasted good.

OMG. They are actually bringing great food to the airport. We have been to both Wood Tavern and Southie in the Claremont District of Oakland. Both of those locations are amazing. This one does not let you down. Had the breakfast sandwich, best breakfast sandwich I have ever had, very flavorful, me and my wife split it, and was perfect amount before a flight. Go it's amazing. You can order the lunch items for breakfast as well. I was considering the meatball sandwich, as that looked good as well. Value 4 of 5 you are getting amazing food for a fair price at the airport, seriously you can get a horrible cold breakfast burrito for $11 at a food stall in the airport, or get something made with quality ingredients that actually tastes good. Food 5 of 5 Amazing flavor and quality ingredients. Service 5 of 5 Order at the counter food came out quickly, they give you a buzzer to let you know when it's ready. Atmosphere 2 of 5 It's an airport so if you like airports maybe it's 5 of 5.

$20 "The Balls". Huge. Plenty for my wife and I to share.

The breakfast sandwich is delicious, big, and a good price compared to the other eateries I saw. I'll trek to this spot no matter my gate.

Super slow people. You wait on line while employees are busy doing their own thing. They don't care.

Airport food doesn't always have to be bad and Forge Pizza has the pizza pies to forge a new norm!…read more Located within the domestic terminal at Oakland Airport, you'll find a few eateries as you walk up and down the corridor of gates. Forge Pizza is just a little ways left from where you enter after going through security and is baking up some hot and fresh personal pizza pies for you to consume at the bar or take with you elsewhere. This small operation can sometimes have 3-5 people on staff to serve the hungry and thirsty passengers and the churn is quick. Each pizza takes about 15-20 minutes to cook up from order so factor that into your schedule ahead of time. As you walk up to the bar, you may decide to park yourself at one of the stools or simply order your food via one of the two kiosks they have available. The touch screen is sometimes not too responsive so if you don't want to deal with it, ask one of their servers to help you out. As with most airport food, they come at a premium and you'll likely end up shelling out about $30 a pizza factoring tax but when hunger strikes and you're looking to feed your body with a treat, the quality is worth it. The portions aren't huge but one pizza was filling enough for one hungry person but I can see it being shareable between two. I gravitated toward the mushroom and sausage pizza and it hit the spot, the sausage were flavorful and the mushrooms were juicy. The sauce really put it all together with each bite, the cheese was melty, and the dough was a crispy canvas baked perfectly to be devoured. The slices were cut into fourths and were still big enough to be folded as to not drop any of those succulent toppings. I took mine on the go and it survived the hustle to my gate and retained its heat quite well. Overall, Forge Pizza gets you that stone oven baked pizza taste at the convenience within the airport and with a bar available, frequent flyers have a place to hang out during layovers or probably more accurately recently, missed, delayed or cancelled flights. The pizza is certainly pricey compared to other pizza joints but the airport real estate is an expensive one. Staff are friendly despite the occasional rushes and grumpy flyers. Food may take a while to prepare but if you're not in a rush, make your way over and get a personal pizza that will be tastier than almost anything you'll find in this terminal. Cheers to Forge Pizza for forging a new standard for airport food!

We came here on a Sunday and the seats were all filled. We put our names on the waiting list, and were seated within 15 minutes. The menu is brunchy with French influence. The food was very good. However, we made the mistake of ordering the beignets to be served at the end of the meal. They didn't put our beignet order in until after they cleared our plates, and it took about 30-45 minutes after our meal before our beignets came out. So if you want beignets, just order them the same time as your meal because they take awhile to make. What we ordered: + Sweet cream pancakes - these were cute in mickey mouse shape with a few strawberries. + Crab cake benedicts - very good + Salmon Lox Sandwich - very good, but would have liked the cucumbers to be sliced thinner. They were quite a bit thicker than the salmon and was a little clumsy to eat, but I'm just being picky. + La Campagne Omelette - lots of veggies and very cheesy + Beignets - long wait and was not bad. They were light with large air bubbles. Not the best we've had, but not bad. Overall, a cute spot for a brunch if you don't mind tent seating.

French toast was very good, soft and melts in your mouth feeling and the fruits were very fresh. Service was fine but wasn't excellent. The kids ordered kids drinks and gave us regular sized drinks and charged full prices. Did not think on behalf of the client so we didn't feel taken care of. The entrees were kind of small for the price and waitress didn't ask if we wanted anything else before handing us our check. I also had a headache so I didn't bother and just paid the bill. Less than ideal experience but would not hesitate to try again.

The Spinach and Artichoke Garlic Spread is a personal favorite. So many uses! Dipping pretzels or pita chips (which they offer an amazing version of) in this stuff is a sinful indulgence. It is also insanely good on sandwiches and wraps. The Red Pepper Hummus is very popular in my household! I really like the classic hummus with pita chips, celery & cucumber as dippers. Recently I needed some of this great stuff for a gathering that I hadn't planned for. This created a unique opportunity to meet one of the founders/owners. He couldn't have been a kinder, humble nor accommodating individual! I learned a bit about his business and their commitment to quality and the integrity of the product. It's fluffy and flavorful. Goes great with their pita chips or any store bought ones. I put it on a grilled cheese, and it was delightful. While the regular garlic sauce is good, the one with habanero is my absolute favorite. It's not super spicy, but enough of a kick to know it's there. We've gotten their hummus as well, and again the consistency of the hummus, light, airy, fluffy, you just know it's made fresh. I'm not the biggest hummus fan, but the amount of flavors they offer, it's hard to not find one you'd like. If you see Hummus Heaven out n about at your local farmers market, definitely worth a stop to try out some samples and if you are like me, you'll end up with a couple things in your fridge every week lol
