We had an amazing private event here during the weekend. Their warehouse is the perfect place for a bigger gathering - we had about 65 people and there was plenty of room for 9 tables, two for food, beer pong, corn hole, and room to spare. Price point was great considering the rental came with a private bartender with three beers on tap. Kyle was super helpful and friendly setting things up for us. If you are having a party and your guests love having a good time, I couldn't recommend Alameda Brewing enough. Oh, and the beer is pretty great too! read more

I was on my second date and we decided to have some beers and went to Alameda Brewing. And we were undecided for sure, that is very true. I wanted to do a hard cider, which they didn't serve. So I ended up having a hard soda, which was actually yummy, a little bit on the sweet side. But my date was truly undecided. And so we tried quite a few of the beers, maybe five or even six. I read all these wonderful reviews about the beers and the customer service but I feel that we did not receive that service on our visit. The man that was helping us was just not very nice. He was kind of stoic and cold. And he didn't really say anything in particular but at the end we chose a flight, and he did say "well, you tried almost everything on the menu" and I didn't appreciate that. The comment was snarky and the bottom line is that I felt like he just did not want to deal with us and get us out of the way and it showed. He like did not make us feel welcome. I was also not a fan of the beers, I felt that they were not carbonated enough. I would have maybe given another chance to this brewery if the customer service would have been warmer and welcoming. The final brewery of my recent trip was Alameda Brewing, in the downtown area. This one has been around a long time and has won many awards so I figured it'd be worth a stop. I had a mixed experience here. The location was nautical themed but not near the water. It was kind of cold, both temperature and metaphorically. Regardless, the two things that matter most: beer and service, were both great. I had a flight of some lighter styles and enjoyed them all. A slightly lighter beer in the same category as the "Control, ALT, Delete" and you can get this in a pint. But again, NONE today as my go-to beers were out of stock?!?! So today I got the "F... It might be my first time at the actual bar?!?! Indoor/outdoor seating. Limited parking behind the building, but always plenty of street parking. Alameda Brewing is on Park Street in Alameda, the busiest street in Alameda. It's an indoor beer garden with a wide selection of different beers and local beers. I'm not always in a beer mood, but I like some of the ones there. You can taste a beer before you commit. They're next door to Fikscue Craft BBQ and Monkey King at the Brewery. If you order from Monkey King they will bring your order to you at the Brewery by table tag. I like coming there also because they're dog friendly, you can bring outside food and they don't really rush you out. There are a couple TV's to watch sports. I've seen people play board games there. There is plenty of seating and enough staff/beer pourers. It gets packed, but I don't see it so full that I've never been able to find a table. Cheers! read more

He keeps the taproom alive and is enthusiastic/knowledgeable about the menu. Got a red IPA and was it fantastic. It was actually red! Their seasonal rotations are worth a try. There are also some televisions that have some sports on (at least the time I was there with some friends and family). Earlier in the day, I can only assume good part of the crowd are people who ordered BBQ next door and brought it over to this location to have beers with the delicious BBQ (this was the reason why we were over here at least). Because of that, the vibe seemed pretty lively in the early part of the day. After grabbing our large BBQ order from next door, we all came over here and grabbed a table here and were ready to order a bunch of their beers. I personally ordered one of their stouts and a hazy IPA. Both were pretty tasty and was good paired with what we were eating. There's also a fridge full of stuff you can purchase and take with you. Great vibes all around with an industrial-style interior. They've got pinball tables for fun and Monkey King Pub right next door, which makes for a solid combo. Friends and I happened to stop here after ordering Fikscue Craft BBQ. Alameda Brewing doesn't offer food but they allow outside food as long as you support and order a beverage which is great! This visit I ordered the Build Your Own Flight: option of 3 or 5. I couldn't decide which but the guy at the counter, Patrick was helpful, friendly, made some recommendations and ended up with Ube Ale, Calamansi Pilsner and Its a Gruit which was a good try considering I'm not a beer drinker. I would say the Calamansi was my fave of the 3 as it had a hint of citrus. Plenty of beer options along with "not beers" (Michelada, mimosas), canned sodas and custom seltzers. So something for everyone. Place is great to hang out with friends, watch sports while dining on food from next door (Fikscue and Monkey King Pub). Alameda Island Brewery is a great place to hang out with friends or socialize. They have a big dining area with lots of space and one big screen TV to watch the game. The dining area was nice and open due to all the big open windows. They also have a large selection of draft beers to choose from which I like. They brew their own beer as well which I have yet to try. They have some flights they can offer. I did try a sampler of a unique beer that was 5% called 'Sarap' meaning good in Tagalog. It was on draft. It's a hint of calamansi in it. It was actually good! I will have to get that again next time. The guy at the counter was cool and friendly. I had a idea easy IP earlier and it was good Rob, one of the bartenders recommended the locals only. So that's what I'm drinking now and it's good as well. Stopped by after getting food at Fikscue BBQ next door. Fast service at 12:30 and plenty of tables open inside. There is also basketball playing on the TVs! Very clean inside and actually quite quiet (I assume because everyone is eating bbq). Island Haze: 4/5 smooth with grapefruit flavors. Not overly tart/fruity like the Hazy's at Fieldwork. Ube Area: 5/5 very interesting! Never really had an ube beer. Slight hint of ube flavor but it does have the starchy, soft taste on the tongue. Seems like a good beer that would be paired well with food. Wouldn't mind buying some cans to go to bring home. read more

Although I'm only writing a review now, I've been coming to Alameda Brewing with friends for the past two years, and am overdue to support this fantastic spot. Coming here again this past Saturday, the brewery was super lively with tons of people inside and out, but we were still able to get up to the bar quickly to order some brews. I tried their Michelada and Island Lords IPA this time, having enjoyed many of their other beers during previous visits. The Michelada was spicy and had a thick layer of Tajin around the edges, which was fantastic as I had plenty of Tajin to add saltiness/spice to each sip. The Island Lords was super fruity, dry, and crisp, with a nice balance of bitterness. Although they don't serve food, it is nice they allow you to bring in outside food so my group ordered food from Monkey King which they brought straight over to us in the brewery. Love Alameda Brewing for it's chill vibes and tasty brews! Will be back soon! read more

The atmosphere is welcoming and perfect for hanging out with friends. The staff is really friendly, which makes it a great place to come back to. A cool taproom in downtown Alameda. Alameda Brewing Co. offers a large assortment of beers by the flight or by the glass. I prefer the lighter beers, and my partner prefers the stouts. Last time we each had a flight, and both enjoyed ours. The taproom is conveniently located on Park St., within walking distance of restaurants and other downtown attractions. Ample seating, and the space is always clean, no dive factor here, yay. If you're hungry, there is a Monkey King right next door from which you can order. I had a flight of the beer as this was my first time at Alameda Island Brewing Company. I started with the Alameda Genuine Draft, then the Cavanaugh Kolsch, then "Control, Alt, Delete," then the Ballena Stout, and finally I had the DIPA which was the Unsinkable Sam. The AGD was alright. Nothing really special about it. Then I had the Cavanaugh Kolsch...which was supposed to be a sour, but it wasn't sour at all. Then I had the Control, Alt, Delete, which was okay, but again, nothing really special about it. The stout tasted like any other stout. The only one that was appealing to me was the DIPA Unsinkable Sam. It was pretty strong. Other than that, the initial beers were alright. This flight was the brewery's recommendation flight, but I think if I had the opportunity, I would have chosen some other ones. After the flight, I had a pint of their HEF was also okay. read more

I was at this brewery on Sunday, September 29th, with my cousins, who were visiting from out of town. While we waited for the BBQ spot to open, I decided to grab a beer and even tried striking up some friendly conversation with the server about the 49ers game (since he was wearing a Purdy jersey). Despite my efforts and being on my best behavior, he still had a bad attitude and wasn't welcoming at all. At one point, I was waved off from standing near the entrance, even though I was just politely waiting in line. This type of attitude set a negative tone for the whole experience. We found Alameda brewing right here on Yelp during a Bay Area visit. Holly was great, she helped me to an amazing West Coast IPA called Coastal Classic. My wife had a Hefenweisen that was simply impeccable as well. We came to eat and drink at this pet friendly Brewing Giant off Park St, centrally located to all the great restaurants and eateries here on Park. High ceiling, cool tunes, and brewed right in house here in Alameda. We enjoyed having the ability to run food back and forth while enjoying Pac Man and more in their all in one arcade cabinet. Holly was super helpful and knew her beers head to toe, she's probably a Ciccerone for certain. Love all the fun flavors. Husband came with a growler to take home a favorite beer from the flights. We decided on the ube ale to take home. Love the hint of ube and solid flavor aftertaste.
