They are constantly cleaning tables and making sure things are going smooth. The food is BBQ chicken, Veggie Baked Beans, Corn Ribs, Artichoke & Mushroom Cacciatore, just to name a few food items. The lounge has a fully functional bar. Irvin is at the bar, and he makes a mean Lemon Drop. The beer selection is Stone IPA, Kona Longboard, and Bud Light that's included. Ahmee and Maritza were keeping the buffet and sodas stocked. Timm was like a "Swiss Army Knife" helping out the staff. Everyone on staff if SUPER friendly. I would definitely recommend this lounge to everyone. The music is at the right volume, the lighting is perfect, and it was very calming in here. I will definitely come back through this lounge. Yes, many people, especially people from Michigan, might not realize that Oakland is a city across the Bay from San Francisco and is actually closer in proximity to San Francisco than SFO is. But Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport? Really, that's the name you went with after the City and County of San Francisco threatened to sue the pants off of you for trying to rename OAK San Francisco Oakland Airport? What does the bay have to do with the airport? Yes, I realize that the runways are on the bay, but so are SFO's--in fact, I believe the entirety of SFO's runways are constructed on fill, so they were originally the bay itself. Have some pride! Stop trying to be The City and be what you are, The Town. OK. That's enough. But wait, there's more. They've also since gotten rid of the generic restaurant that once overlooked the baggage claim/security area. It was replaced by multiple (bad) restaurants, which I believe have since been replaced by a single bar. (Good, I guess?) Also, when I returned here last week, it took a full thirty minutes for bags from our flight to hit the baggage carousel, even though it was 11 p.m. My flight landed just before before 11, but I didn't get home by BART and bus until 1:05 a.m. Why, OAK, why? Here comes the good. AirBART was replaced by the BART Airport Connector, the Gray Line, or whatever they're calling it this quarter. (Seriously, if you're going to spend millions of dollars on a project, pick and stick with a single name.) That's much better in many ways than the old bus system, but the OAK BART station is still pretty far away from Terminal 2, which I use exactly 100 percent of the time. It's also not right next to Terminal 1. All of this is normally fine, but it's bad when it rains. I've definitely had weather delays here in the past eighteen years, but SFO has had many many many more, so I can't blame OAK for that. In terms of its runways, it has location location location. In terms of its Oakland neighborhood, it's shady as all get-out. I'm generally the person who poo-poos other people's criticisms of supposedly bad (usually just poor and/or run-down and/or non-White) neighborhoods, but the neighborhood along Hegenberger Road from the freeway to OAK is really bad and dangerous, and it has gotten worse. Many businesses have shuttered because of the parking-lot crime, which is daily car break-ins but also includes carjackings, muggings, and stabbings. Black Bear Diner closed. In-N-Out might have closed as well. So don't stay in a hotel, get gas, or go through a drive-thru near OAK. I'm serious. Despite all this, I still consider OAK my home airport. It's small and generally pretty efficient. The security lines can take forever, but if you're willing to walk in the terminals, you can actually do security in either terminal and then go to the other. Terminal 2 is usually busier, so doing security at Terminal 1 can save time. The food has gotten worse and more expensive, but it also changes a lot, and there have been places here I have really liked. My most recent experience notwithstanding, it's normally pretty fast getting from your plane to baggage claim to BART. If you do check bags, be aware that 90 percent of the time, they use a different luggage carousel than they say they will. The good news is there are only three in Terminal 2, so it's easy enough to go from one to another. Oh, and the long-term parking is fairly cheap, and it's a very short shuttle ride from the lot (with covered but shelters for the stops) to the terminals. Southwest is now a pretty horrible airline, but if you're going to fly it, it has many more domestic destinations from OAK than it does from SFO. When I'm flight to SoCal, LAX is my only real option from SFO. From OAK, I can fly to LAX, Burbank, Orange County, Long Beach, and Ontario. The flight to and from LAX are also generally a bit cheaper than their SFO counterparts, although this can and often does change seasonally.

The lounge is easy to find and check in was a breeze. The space is large - you walk into a seating area and to the right is the bar and food. There are multiple areas to sit and even a quiet area set back from the rest. We found a seat and I ordered a sparkling Rose. Each table has a bar code that you an scan and order your drinks, they have a large menu to select from but you can only order one drink at a time. The drink arrived promplty and after settling in, we went to check out the food. The menu is not extensive, they had a salad bar, chips and dip, bar snacks, a soup and some fried rice. Not extensive but that is a relief sometimes because too many choices can be overwhelming. The onion dip was fabulous as were the bar snacks. The soup was nice and warm and mixing in some of the rice made for a very filling meal. They also have flavored water and fruit, packed and ready to go. The wine are mostly from CA but they had a couple of French wines, I also tried a chardonnay that hit the spot! There was one woman who sat right in the center of the seating area and proceeded to gossip and complain about work and her co-workers as loudly as if she was in her living room. It was long conversation and even though she was loud enough to be heard outside, no one came by to tell her to take it somewhere else. I took one star off for that - the employees should ensure that it is a welcoming place for all travelers not just the self centered ones. The best part of the visit was the dessert, they had a fluffy layered cake, covered with mousse, jam and topped with whipped cream - so good! This lounge also seems less crowded than the The Club in another part of SJC. You can buys a day pass or you can visit this place with Priority Pass. Overall a great experience and I would go back again.

The chicken for the salad tasted like canned tuna, which was a huge red flag. Aside from that, they had chicken tortilla soup that was just broth, pasta, and some sad looking chocolate chip cookies. I ordered the queso and churros from the QR code and they were okay at best. The bar was decent, the gentleman looked up how to make a French 75 for me, which I appreciated. Unfortunately my lemon garnish had a hair on it, which thankfully I saw when placed and promptly removed it. I'm not sure if this is a the bar for The Lounges at the airport, but I was not impressed. Keep your staff and do a major rehaul of your menu.

I walked over to grab some pizza, and before I even made it to the front of the line, I got a text saying I could enter. Less than a 5-minute wait! I went in not expecting much and was so impressed. The lounge is beautiful, spacious, very clean, and honestly nicer than the Delta Sky Club in my opinion. The best surprise was seeing Filipino food, and it was actually delicious! Next time I'm at SFO, I'll definitely be coming here instead. Such a great Priority Pass lounge.

There are so many better options--asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, green beans, or roasted baby carrots. Instead, we're served eggplant that looks barely cooked and completely unappetizing. And where is the real meat? The beef meatballs taste and look like basic Aramark institutional catering. There is nothing luxurious or premium about it. This is supposed to be a Centurion Lounge, not a cafeteria. For goodness' sake, the Platinum Card annual fee is now approaching $900. At that price point, customers should expect the lounge experience--including the food--to reflect the premium positioning of the card. I remember when the Centurion Lounge actually felt exclusive and luxurious. It used to be something I looked forward to when traveling. Now, as someone who flies twice a week and uses these lounges regularly, I can genuinely say: Centurion Lounge has lost its touch.
