Dr. B and her team are the best! I brought my grandmother in for new hearing aids, after a very negative experience with another audiologist. We waited almost an hour after our appointment time, but it all made sense when we got to see the doctor. Dr. B patiently sat with my grandmother for around 2 and a half hours. She asked her a ton of questions about her hearing issues, current hearing aids, and general activity. She is also the only doctor that has ever spoken loudly and clearly enough for my grandmother to understand. She tested my grandmother's hearing in a soundproof booth, and explained in great detail what her issues are and what could be done about them. I should mention that my grandmother is also legally blind (which throws off a lot of medical professionals), but Dr. B taught her how to use her hearing aids by feel, which was amazing! My grandmother got new hearing aids, as well as a tester pair to use for a week while they were being built. We had some personal issues in the interim, so it took a while for us to pick up the new hearing aids, but Dr. B's office was super kind and flexible! We also got to try them for a few weeks at home before we had to pay for them, which we were able to do over the phone. Fair warning that the office is in the basement of an apartment building which is NOT handicap accessible. There is a ramp to get into the building, but there are two or three small steps to get to the office. The office itself is also small, but my grandmother's wheelchair just barely fit in. My grandmother's hearing is much better, and we are very happy with Forest Hills Audiology! read more

This Forest Hills Audiology office is like a warm hug! I found the expertise here unmatched. Dr. Boruhkov provided thorough testing and explained everything in a way I could understand. She was incredibly kind and attentive, listening carefully to my concerns and making me feel comfortable throughout the entire visit. Dr. Boruhkov took the care & time to teach me about my new hearing aides and answered my questions and concerns without judgement. Dr. Roxanne Borukhov and Dr. Kathleen Kalschmid both possess professionalism, knowledge and humor; traits that create an excellent hearing healthcare environment. I was set up with my new hearing Oticon devices. I'm still getting used to them but during my second visit, I received adjustments that made a helpful difference. The ladies at the reception desk are professional, kind and helpful as well. It isn't always that you can find these qualities in my experience. On a side note: On my way to the office, I slipped and fell . I hurt my hand and arm. Kristen at reception, fixed me up with a bandaid, Bacitracin and a cup of water. Dr. Kalschmid checked my arm and hand and talked to me until I calmed down. Dr. Boruhkov did the same. They go above and beyond to make their patients feel seen, heard and taken care of. When neighbors were telling me my TV was too loud, when I was annoying Friends by making them repeat themselves, and when I wondered why people in a movie theater were laughing when I didn't hear anything funny, I realized it was time to get my hearing checked. Dr Roxanne Borukhov, affectionately called "Dr B" , made this whole process so easy. She's made me understand the importance of caring for our hearing, without any embarrassment. I went here 5 weeks ago mainly for a tinnitus problem. After a quick hearing test Dr Borukhov said I had hearing loss in the high frequencies and recommended hearing aids. The office is small, crowded, and noisy. Not what one would desire in a medical setting for hearing issues. A month later, (11/28), I was hurriedly explained how the aids work. I felt rushed and uncomfortable during this tutorial. I went there for tinnitus. That issue was not addressed. I had a few questions so I called on Fri, (10/29), and Tuesday, (11/2). I was told the doc would call back on both occasions. No reply. I then sent her an email yesterday. Again no reply. I cannot recommend Forest Hills Audiology. I think the main goal there is volume and profit with patient care way behind. There's even a sign that states "We Love Referrals". read more

Returned to Dr. B's office today because the rechargeable batteries in my bicross hearing aids weren't lasting as long between charges. Dr. B replaced the batteries, cleaned the hearing aids, replaced the "tulip" or whatever the part is that goes into my ear, and replaced the wax filters and showed me how to change them myself and she gave me an ample supply. I was also able to get an updated hearing test since, as I mentioned in my previous review, Dr. B works closely with my ENT. Dr. B is a true professional and when she doesn't know something, she has connections with the tech support people from the hearing aid companies that will assist her while you are there! read more

Having a pretty severe case of profound hearing loss, it was time I needed to upgrade my old hearing aids since they basically had no technology and were out of date. I asked my insurance for references and they gave me a list. The only person on that list with a lot of positive reviews was Dr Roxanne Borukhov and luckily, she was local. I called her office and was pleasantly surprised I didn't have to wait months for an appointment and booking went flawlessly. I arrived and met with the doctor and her assistant and she conducted a hearing test. When she saw the level of my hearing loss, she knew immediately what I needed. She recommended a pair of Signia Motion Charge&Go SP 7X, the most powerful hearing aids on the market made for people like me. I asked for new molds and she took my impressions. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. Dr Borukhov understands what her patient's needs are and is obviously experienced enough to make recommendations that work. She's very responsive to phone calls and emails and doesn't make one feel like calling her is an inconvenience. I found my permanent audiologist and see myself staying with her for the long haul. The Signia's? I LOVE them and haven't heard this well in years. My wife even commented that I stopped talking loudly all the time. I now also have all the bells and whistles that today's tech provides, Bluetooth that works well both ways, t-coil option in the free Signia app, remote control that fits in your pocket or keychain and access to an optional Dolby TV transmitter as well as remote mic. I'm very happy with this investment as well as Dr Borukhov's services. I highly recommend her! read more

Over the years I have known and been treated by many Doctors. Some were great clinicians but were gruff and uncommunicative. Some were very pleasant but would agree with you rather than tell you something you might not have wanted to hear. Others were terrific at their job, but had incompetent people working their desks and/or billing departments. All in all, when people find Doctors that they like and trust they will stay with them for many years. I have had a few hearing aids over the years from different Audiologists and I have to say that Dr. Roxanne Borukhov is an absolute pleasure to work with. Her front desk people are pleasant and don't answer the phones with an attitude, like those of so many other medical offices. Dr. Roxanne doesn't make an appointment with you and then make you sit there for 45 minutes - 1 hour like so many others do. You get greeted warmly and called in within a few minutes of your arrival - the way it should be. Once you sit down opposite Dr. Roxanne it becomes apparent that she is well-educated, well-spoken and highly experienced at her specialty. Her chair-side manner is awesome and I enjoy going there when I have to (as much as I can enjoy a Doctor's appointment, at any rate.) I recently needed a minor repair on one of the hearing aids I got from Dr. Roxanne years ago and even though it was no longer under warranty, she made a call and cashed in a favor to get my repair done without charge. It was only 1 week from the time I brought my problem to her and until I was able to pickup the repaired unit, no charge and in perfect working order. Dr. Roxanne also tuned up the setting on both of my hearing aids and I'm now hearing like The Bionic Man - including my creepy neighbors yelling at each other from the floor above. Oh well, at least now I know what they're fighting about. Seriously, if you need hearing aids or suspect that you might you have a wonderful resource right here in the neighborhood, easily accessible by bus, subway, car or cab. I can't give any higher recommendation to Dr. Roxanne Borukhov - she is a pleasure to deal with; wonderful at her job and just an extremely pleasant person to work with. read more

She explained all the options in detail and helped me pick HA best fit for my needs. The order came in very quick and fit of HA was amazing. I have been wearing hearing aids in both ears for 40 years now, have been to many audiologists, tested by them and fitted for hearing aids. Being hearing impaired is VERY frustrating and having your hearing tested is even more so. The moment I met Dr. Borukhov right before our consultation I knew I would like her. Call it deja vu but it's true, I immediately felt at ease with her. I explained by my frustrations with my hearing loss (which is more than half, I also have loss of clarity in words) and she immediately understood and explained to me, my needs and recommended hearing aids that would put help improve the qualify of my life and it has. Aside from the reviews shown here, all I can say is if you need to have your hearing tested or require hearing aids, this is the person to go to-she's great!
