My original doctor left the practice so I saw Dr. Wakefield in the Flushing office. The wait was short. Exam very quick. I had to tell her to check everythng not just my ear. I spedifically needed 2 prescriptions refilled. I asked her twice if she sent them and she said yes. Hours later, the pharmacist said they were not sent. I called and faxed the office numerous times and was told the prescriptions would be resent immediately. The WERE NOT RESENT. I was told 3x by the office that they sent a message to the Dr. & medical assist, and that she would call me and resend them. No call came and no prescriptions ever came. This is totally unacceptable, unprofessional, and frustrating having to call and call and get NO response. I was also told by the pharmacist that they left several messages for a prescription renewal too but no one ever got back to them. This is outrageous that they treat patents this way. read more

The office here is very chaotic & the staff is mostly overworked & rather unprofessional. This is the first time a prescription was documented for my daughter but never sent to the pharmacy. I was in their system with my old address so apparently had been to one of their many locations 10+ years ago. I made an appointment with Dr. Blank (ENT) as he has many years of experience. I was very happy with his cordial, straightforward manner. All the staff there was professional, friendly and efficient. Their system works. I was seen on time and left with understanding. Doctor Wasserman changed my life. I have had sinus issues for years - always stuffed, always sneezing, nose a mess - sawing logs when I slept. Just a hot mess. Dr. W assessed my issue (an extremely deviated septum) and discussed surgery as an option for me. He explained in great detail the pros and cons of the surgery and very patiently answered all of my questions. A few weeks later he performed a "septoplasty with turbinite reduction" where I was kind of laid up for a week (expected). Even right before the surgery, he took the time to talk to me and made sure I was sure (I was). Well, I'm recovered and the difference in my breathing in my nose is incredible - meaning, I actually CAN breathe through my nose. He's a wonderful doctor with a fab bedside manner. Please go see this man if you are experiencing frequent sinus infections, constant stuffy nose, or just need a great ENT. read more

Long wait times even with an appointment. Crowded unpleasant waiting area. Inconclusive diagnosis.

My mom and I saw Dr. Wasserman in a back to back appointment. Due to issues with her NEMT(non-emergency medical transport) we ended up an hour late. But thankfully he still agreed to see us; maybe we had a little bit of a longer wait but we didn't care since he saw us with no issue or attitude. The paperwork was done via a tablet but they did not have the information(updated info) that was taken when the appointments were scheduled and had to be redone. Once one of our names was called and we both went back. Dr. Wasserman examined me in the chair and removed my earwax as well as diagnosed me with eczema and prescribed a cream. Dr. Wasserman then took care of my mom in her wheelchair positioning her and removing her earwax. He was professional and accommodating. I had a follow up question but when calling the "office" you don't get connected to the actual office but rather a main call center and Dr. Wasserman never called me back nor did anyone from the office reach out to me with the answer to my question. read more

This was the worst doctor's office I ever encountered. We went in for an evaluation, the doctor was rude from the beginning and she acted so arrogant. Oh, but her team was even worst. I wish I can give them 0 star. * No thorough guideline for patient to prep for a surgery * Surgery prep was more of a phone call, and then email WITH NO RECAP of what was discussed but just documents. Also expected the patient to fully understand the process of pre-op * Then, when I followed up, decided to start the email with "did you read...?" Honestly, I have no other words for this place other than run to another ENT. How do you trust a team who prefer for patient to figure it out on their own without a guideline from THE OFFICE more specifically the team? Stay FAR AWAY from this place! I had an appointment, showed up at the proper time, and was told there were multiple people in front of me, and likely a 2 hour wait! There were so many people in the waiting room, it looked like the port authority! People were everywhere. In addition, they told me I needed to wear a face diaper, or they would REFUSE treatment! I reminded them that, as of 2/12/23, face masks are no longer required at health care facilities in New York City. They said that they "didn't care", and they could "do whatever they want". The staff was rude, obnoxious, and actually cursed at me when I left. Do not put up with this! Find another provider!! These people are sick! How dare they refuse treatment because of their own personal fascism! read more

I am pleased with my son's first visit with Dr Andrew Blank. He and his staff made my son and I feel comfortable. He explained and showed me why my son was having a hard time breathing. Discussed symptoms and treatments. My son said it was cool when Dr Blank threw paper from behind his back and it went in the garbage can. My son loves basketball. My family and myself have been going to Dr. Blank for over 25 years since I was 2 years old. He literally saved my fathers life back then, as my father had a tear duct dripping into his brain, and Dr. Blank saved him. He is the most genuine, caring, hilarious individual you could meet, and a phenomenal doctor. Dr. Wasserman was attentive, took his time and was gentle with my five year old. He walked him through every step and made him feel comfortable. He also took the time to not only listen to the parent to discuss what's going on but also let my son be heard. He truly made him feel valued. As for diagnosis, upon our first appointment nothing was noticed to be wrong. He extended us to come back at the time it happens- telling us he'd squeeze us so we can get to the problem. I have no idea how the appointment works at this place. I had an appointment on September 2nd. When I arrived here with my 7 months baby, they told me the apt was canceled, and they texted me earlier. However, I didn't receive anything. I even let the front desk check my phone message. She didn't see any messages either. Then she told me the text might send to my husband's phone number. So I rescheduled the apt and changed the main phone number to mine. Until I got back home, I realized they didn't text my husband neither! So they just cancel my apt without any reason and notifications?? Okay fine! I come today again for a reschedule apt at 10am. The front desk tells me your apt is at 4:10pm. I tell her that I called in yesterday to make sure of the appointment time. I was being told to come at 10 am today! She helps me double check the apt saying that they changed my apt AGAIN to 4:10pm, but there is a note saying I will come at 10am. Why a system????!!!!!!!!?! What appointment for? I arrive here on time, and she tells me there are still 3 people waited in front of me. read more

My baby just finished his follow up visit with Dr. Andrew Blank at The ENT center in Bayterrace next to the movie theater. This was our 2nd visit and I really liked our experience here. From automated system to easy website and friendly staff. Dr. Blank is true professional the type who walks around and record himself passionately. Plus he travels, been to Asia and we have a lot to talk about not just ENT. They take many insurances. I recommmend this place. The place is very children friendly with many new and clean toys in the lobby. read more

This morning I made an online appointment for next week, but then I called the office to see if Dr. Blank could see me sooner. His office was able to arrange for me to see him today. He was recommended by a friend who sings his praises. This was my first time appointment with Dr. Blank. Dr. Blank was wonderful. He listened patiently to me when I explained why I was there. He was concerned and wanted to make sure I wasn't experiencing any pain while he was treating me. Additionally, while I was there, he took the time to examine my nose and mouth, even though I was there for him to remove horrible ear wax buildup. He was friendly, and he put me at ease quickly. He was professional in his knowledge and manner. He gave me advice to follow to maintain a healthier situation. I will return to him and his practice for future needs. His support staff should also be commended. The young woman who took down some of my information and the young man who administered a hearing test for me were both polite, efficient, and professional. I also found the personnel in the waiting room to be worthy of praise too. My wait time was only about a half an hour. One bit of extra information is that there is plenty of parking available for an office visit. read more

My left ear has tinnitus since Saturday went to this ENT, after hearing checking, infection checking, Dr. Wasserman by only looking the exam result without take look at my year and told me your ear is totally fine. Okay.....so what cause the tinnitus?? He did NOT find what cause it, he only told me my hearing is fine and my ear looks fine and no infection. But he did give me prescription of steroid, if I am fine then why give me prescription of steroid for? before leaving he said if you still have this problem for a week or so come back. Okay, if you can't find the problem today why do I think you can find the problem next time? Do you know when I see you once it is $50 copay? I leave this ENT with the same issue i walked in. Total visit time about 15 minutes (including check in, exam my hearing, and doctor diagnosis) Don't take me wrong, the doctor is friendly, nice but I am here to let the professional to find the cause of the problem not here to be nicely greeting. read more

I cannot recommend ENT and Allergy Associates highly enough. I was a the end of my rope when I scheduled an emergency appointment with Dr. Jason Wasserman. Prior to that I'd spent days with unrelenting dizziness that had come on on a Friday afternoon, so the ER was my only option -- doesn't it always work that way? -- after a massive battery of expensive tests I was ultimately sent home, misdiagnosed with BPPV, and told to get vestibular therapy. The astute physical therapist I then saw said I didn't present with classic BPPV symptoms, and suggested I see an ENT -- and the next day I got an appointment with Dr. Wasserman. The moment he walked into the exam room, he exuded kindness, compassion and competence. He took one look at the paperwork from the hospital, shook his head and said I'd gotten a million dollar work up for something pretty benign. His empathy was palpable, and he took the time to really listen to my whole story, then he ran a battery of simple tests, and prescribed a short course of meds -- and that is what worked. But here's the thing: it wasn't just that it was clear Dr. Wasserman knew what he was doing, it was his humanity, his kindness and his empathy that made the difference. The minute he walked through the door, I felt I could trust him and I relaxed for the first time in the week I'd been ill. And for that alone, I will be forever grateful. read more

First of all. If you are even READING reviews on a MEDICAL FACILITY or PHYSICIAN that is not rated overall 4 Stars, WHY?! This is your precious health we're talking about. Your life! And there are plenty of other options for ENTs! I know the location and parking, convenient but look at these reviews. Take a hint. Dr.Gerald Suh did his job I suppose. And I can't say that he practiced bad medicine per se. It's just not my standard of good health care, and hopefully, not yours either. Not very empathetic or thorough when it came to hearing me out. No pun intended. And judge me if you will, but I'm not some difficult uptight patient who was demanding anything much. I had a pretty serious and unusual concern and I saw Dr.Suh at the recommendation of a friend. I was scared and vulnerable and seeking medical attention and direction so yes, I felt that it was key for the physician to exercise some degree of empathy and interest in my well being. I pleaded with him with near tears in my eyes as I explained my ordeal in detail. Hher wasn't rude or disrespectful but, just not interested. Maybe he wanted to finish his day and get home. But he spent 5 minutes checking a few things on me, and then just sat at his computer doing who knows what. For me, you were the first doctor I saw for what has now become a long running health issue and daily struggle. I waited anxiously to see you; hopeful that you would be able to offer some wisdom and guidance; assurance. I got 15 minutes of your time and can still remember every word you said to me since it wasn't much. You may see 50 patients a day Dr.Suh, but I am ONE person and I needed you to care about your profession, which once perhaps, was also your passion - since removed. Fast forward a year - I am 7 doctors in, including outstanding physicians at NYU and Weill-Cornell, who all ask me who it is that I first saw that did nothing for me. I am sure to tell them about you. He should have taken more of a serious interest and not just the standard tap and check, prescribe an antibiotic. He should have listened and probed and asked me something back. So again, he is good for some things. He has the degree and a RX pad. And when people ask for an ENT reference, I do mention that there's this guy in Bayside, Dr.Gerald Suh. I saw him once. If you just want a basic checkup, get your ears cleaned, or have a sore throat and want a quick prescription - I think he'll do just fine. Or just go to one of those Urgent Care places. I brought my son here for a ear infection. I was referred by the Theresa Lang Children's Center. Our son's pediatric physician wanted to have an ear specialist check his ears because he's been getting ear infections a bit too often over the past several months. The Theresa Lang Center called and made the appointment for us with Dr. Andrew Blank and made sure they accepted our insurance. ENT and Allergy Associates is located in the back end of Bay Terrace. On my GPS, it directed me to the buildings on the 26th Ave, next to Bay Terrace. I was a bit confused until I entered the lost and found their huge window ad. Upon entering, the waiting area and facility itself look pretty promising. There was a man with his son ahead of us and was arguing and getting loud and mean with the receptionist. He did not make an appointment and they did not accept his insurance apparently and he was just raising his voice like a mad man, startling everyone in the waiting room. When it was our turn, I was just hoping I did not find myself in the same situation he's in. Good thing I had my referral paper from Theresa Lang and my son's insurance card. The receptionist was more than helpful and friendly towards us during our visit. During the check in process, they give you a tablet with a bunch of questionnaires. It took roughly 5-10 minutes to complete. The waiting room also had a little play area for kids but I did not want my son playing around there unless I saw someone disinfect everything. The wait time to see Dr. Blank was pretty darn long. We waited a little over an hour until they finally called our name. When we finally saw Dr. Blank, he was an absolute gentlemen and great with young kids. Dr. Blank checked my son's nose and ears with his professional equipment. He ran a camera tube up my son's nose. It looked uncomfortable but he did it gently and observed the inside of his nose and told us he has small adenoids. He briefly explained to us what they are, if it was a good or bad thing. Then he checked his ears, found a minor infection, nothing to worry about. He removed a chunk of ear wax. Dr. Blank has some super steady hands. He looked in with his scope and pulled that wax out like it was nothing. This also made me realize that the photographs in the waiting room were all taken by him. It makes sense, having steady hands in this field of work definitely makes for a good photographer. Verdict - I found our experience at ENT very helpful thanks to the help of Theresa Lang Center. I'm always pleased with their referrals. The wait time to see Dr. Blank was a little unreasonably long even with our 12:30 pm appointment. Other than the wait time, I'm really glad that our son saw a professional like Dr. Blank. I highly recommend Dr. Andrew Blank if you have any concerns on ear, nose, and throat. I was extremely relieved that they accept our son's health insurance, so just double check and be sure they accept yours before you see him. read more

STAY AWAY!!!!! I went in for hearing aids -- which was the worst decision I could have made. It's very difficult to make appointments. The few times I succeeded it was always with a different doctor. They seem to have a retention issue with the Madison Avenue office. I have spent hours (and I'm not exaggerating ) trying to get appointments. I had an emergency (a bad ear ache) and was not able to get an appointment with them even though I explained that I was flying in a few days and that I was an existing patient. I had to go to urgent care. The staff that answers the phones (I was transferred 3 times) were rude, uncaring and acted like they were doing me a favor. read more

Yesterday was my first time at ENT and Allergy Associates. I started developing a pretty severe respiratory infection at the beginning of the week, which was making me extremely miserable. I didn't have to wait long at all in the waiting room before I met Dr. Wasserman. He put me at ease almost immediately, with his pleasant demeanor and warm smile. He took his time to explain everything thoroughly, answered all questions I had, and was just overall a wonderful doctor. Not to mention he's incredibly handsome. My son goes to see allergist Dr. Bora kim and I have to say she is the best friendly and very informative doctor. My son suffers from eczema and allergy so he goes there for allergy shots. He loves going there to get his shot every week. Never cried and always asks when is he going again. Nurse jessica who gives him the shot always talks him through and always has the brightest smile to make my son feel comfortable. She always makes the shot not be scary for my son which I feel very grateful as a mom! Front desk people are all friendly and attentive. Where should I begin? The Patient Portal was down so after spending 15 minutes filling out patient forms I got to the office and they never received them. This is after I created a user id and p/wd. Came here on 8/20/18 to see Dr. Wakefield for a tickle in my throat and constant coughing, causing me sleepless nights for 3 days. It is right near my home so in the interest of time I figured I would start here. Without telling me they were doing an invasive procedure the assistant said she was spraying my throat with Lidocaine to numb it. Since I went to graduate school for speech and hearing I know she wanted to give me a nasopharyngoscope. When I walked into the doctor's office she already had a attitude and said very nastily "I heard you didn't want to take this test". She obviously knew I was onto her. This is hardly a routine test unless the doctor suspects vocal cord polyps or your voice changed due to smoking or possibly cancer. She barely examined more than my ears, nose and throat, never listening to my chest and I was coughing while in the examination room. I asked her what should I take? She said take Mucinex and then I paid my copay of $50. Never even told me to feel better. This visit wasn't even worth this much and presently I am disputing it with Blue Cross. On 8/22 I went to my regular doctor in Great Neck of 35 yrs who prescribed an antibiotic for 10 days and a cough suppressant with codeine. Plus I had a chest xray yesterday and am awaiting the results. Shame on Dr. Wakefield for looking to generate income for this corporation and her less than admirable bedside manner. This test gets billed out at $2500 and if you don't have great insurance like I do most will be out of pocket. Even my regular doctor concurred with me when I told her what test she wanted to give me. Many patients subject themselves to unneccessary tests because they trust their doctor and don't question them. Obviousy that is not me. Usually my doctors are happy that I am familiar with medical jargon, she became very defensive. Never going back and not recommending this group to anyone in this area!!!! read more

I saw dr Wakefield here who misdiagnosed me with LPR and threw a pack of Prilosec on my lap. Turns out after a upper GI endoscopy and another scope by competent ENT they saw no reflux what so ever and no signs of LPR. Thanks for making me nuts for 3 months and making spent $$$$ on all this reflux propaganda!! Never again Bayside ENT @nora - I didn't contact you and I want nothing to do with your practice. read more

HORRIBLE!!!! I don't understand how Dr. Blank can be a pediatric MD when all he wants to do is to hold your kids down to check them. Instead of making them feel comfortable he has his assistant nearly strap your kids down. If he doesn't get to shove the huge tube down your child's nose he gets upset and gives attitude. You would think that as a peds MD he should know how to make a child feel comfortable about having this done....Stay away from him!!! I didn't see any other MDs in the practice but I saw Dr. Blank twice and I could not let my son take any more of his "ABUSE" read more

While there can be long waits they are for good reason. Dr. Blank is one of the most thorough, knowledgeable and funniest doctors I have ever encountered. The challenge from our perspective is that there are many entitled people who think their child is more important than the one in the patient room. Each child gets the time and attention they deserve, instead of being a factory with time limits. Shouldn't that be refreshing? Shouldn't people understand wait times can be longer when there can be serious cases coming in all day? For the most part we have had pleasant experiences over the past couple years going to Dr. Blank, and when they were not pleasant it seemed to coincide with some very challenging parents of children. If you are a mature adult with a sense of humor, some patience and understanding of health care services, you will feel comfortable that your child is being treated by people with their knowledge and experience. My almost 4 year old son has had 3 sets of tubes and actually looks forward to seeing Dr. Blank! I don't know if there is a higher compliment. read more

This is a nice practice. I've seen three doctors here, two of which I love: Dr. Blank & Dr. Wasserman. However, Dr. Safier I suppose is the kind of doctor that doesn't mesh well with people like myself. I tend to ask a lot of questions and need reassurance on topics I'm unfamiliar with. You know the doctor is pretty much fed up with appointment when he opens the door of the exam room and says to you "so you know where the exit is right?" (meanwhile he knew I had been there many times). After that experience, I knew I would be looking elsewhere. Overall he is a smart physician, but during your visit with him - just be quick, get straight to the point and don't ask a lot of questions. read more

Just came from seeing Dr. Suh after having a bad experience with Dr. Blank. He literally looked in my daughters ear, whipped out the machine to clean her ear (without warning) and sat at the computer. I asked him if he was going to prescribe medicine and he looked at me with a blind stare and opened the door while we were still sitting. His answer was "I already did". No explanations. No goodbye. I am Shocked that he is a doctor. She has chronic ear infections and I asked him how we should try to treat this and he literally shrugged his shoulders. I wanted out and the assistants saw that I looked very surprised. They asked me if everything was ok and I explained that I don't know what just happened. No answers were given. No goodbyes were said. It was a dream. They were not surprised with my reaction. Looks like other yelpers had the same problem. read more
