I have been going for eyes since for over 15 years and will not be returning. I am extremely disappointed with my last visit. I came to get my eyes checked and get new glasses. when they arrived the prescription was not right, and very blurry. they had my eyes rechecked and recorded the glasses with really no changes in the problems i had previously. the manager was Extremely rude and talked down to me like i knew absolutely nothing. I have never written a review for anything before but I have never felt so belittled by someone in an industry that is supposed to help the customer? Now i am going to have to find a new doctor who can correctly give me glasses that will be realistic for my everyday use and pay a few more hundred dollars. I've been getting glasses for my family of 6 at For Eyes for the last 5 years, and every year we get 1-2 pairs per member. This year, due to Covid we were asked to limit to 2 appointments per family per day, not sure I understand the logic given we were 6 separate paying customers. But I went ahead and split our appointments across 3 separate days. The reason for the 2 stars is due to the length of time and poor customer service following up. 4 of our 7 orders took a month to receive. The very last pair we waited on, I was told was shipped out 2 weeks prior to my call and when I called back another week after, I was told they would call me back. 4 times I was the one that called back vs them calling me. Lastly when I finally got the tracking info, it clearly showed it had just gotten shipped the day before my final call vs 3 weeks prior. I understand mistakes, but this clearly showed lack of diligence. The original rep I spoke to 3x just wanted to get me off the phone vs truly looking into the issue. Thanks to the last rep I finally spoke to who I think actually contacted the facility and got it shipped out. read more

After an awful experience at another nearby optometrist, I decided to go to my next choice in my network: For Eyes. I walked in and nobody said a word to me. It wasn't very busy, but it was obvious that all of the employees were occupied. I still didn't even get a, "I'll be right with you." Just silence. I stood at the front desk, looked around, and just waited. Finally, someone asked me what I needed. I had a valid prescription, so all I needed to do was order contacts. Their entire computer system was down. Vicki helped me out though, she took all of my information and told me I'd get a call as soon as their system came up. I never got a call back. I had a feeling this would happen, so I actually ended up going to another provider and then just ordering my stuff online. Probably an A-OK place to go if you already have an appointment. read more

New insurance plan meant finding a new eye doctor and office to visit. New insurance plan is truly terrible, so it was really very nice when the salesperson helped me get the most rock bottom price I could for contact lenses. But this was AFTER I told her I'd probably take my prescription and buy my contacts from an discount site online. She then sat down with me and went to several of the major online discounter websites until we found *the* lowest price for my contacts on the competitors site. Then she matched the price and ordered them for me through For Eyes. It was about 50% less than what the original price was offered to me at first--so MAKE SURE you do this if you are getting contacts. Shipping was quick and I picked mine up at the store in just a few days. Three stars because the original price was pretty spendy until they negotiated with me and I thought the frame selection for eye glasses was pretty slim and outdated. The eye doctor was pretty pointed and not exactly smiling and chatty she was, however, very professional. She answered all my questions and let me know if the new brand of contacts did not work out for me, I could come back for another consultation and free trial pair of another brand at no additional cost if I was not satisfied after 3 months. Ahem, I understand that everyone has a different insurance, may experience a different eye doctor, and may speak with a different employee here. Lemme just tell you how flippen fanFREAKINtastic For Eyes was. Dr. Mark Burke did my eye exam and listened to me lament about how one eye is doing all the work while my other eye is all meh. He listened attentively, asked further questions to understand my woes, and broke it down simply for me. By the time he was done with me, I felt like a doctor finally understood my situation, and he said I have 20/15 vision now. I know, I'm super human now, cue theme music. My eye exam after my insurance so kindly covered the majority of the costs (haha!) was $30. SO MUCH CHEAPER THAN LENSCRAFTERS. I have to say this, my insurance doesn't cover the eye dilution exam or the field analysis exam. I only did the field analysis exam and paid $15 out of my pocket. They told me I could come in within 30 days for the other exam and pay only $15 bypassing the whole eye exam. After 30 days, full price of eye exam. I then was walked over to Gilbert (who speaks Spanish, booooyaaaa) and he helped me out in paying the best price for not one, but TWO pairs of glasses. Mind you I already had a pair of sunglasses that I was fixing as well as glasses and I think that's why I price was amazing. You ready for this: 182.51. LensCrafters made me pay more than 300 for ONE STINKING PAIR. Never again LensCrafters and hellooooo For Eyes. I only gave this place 3 stars because I'm waiting for my glasses and once they're in, I may be swayed in changing my rating. read more

The receptionist has an attitude problem. I called and because my glasses were broken and I was told they were under warranty and would be replaced, no information if I should come in or make an appointment. After calling back again I was told to come in. When I came in the receptionist told me I need to have an appointment and I explained the previous. She took my broken glasses and came back to me with a paper saying they were no longer under warranty. I booked an appointment to get them replaced and she challenged me at the door saying I didn't have an appointment and then proceeded to be rude and snarky to me and my mother about my broken glasses. Finally I was handed off to a lovely lady that kindly helped us but not after the receptionist left a horrible impression, she needs to get her attitude and professionalism checked. read more

Another great experience with Dr. Wu -- each time I see her, I come out seeing better. :) Friendly and down-to-earth, Dr. Wu is also very patient and empathetic -- it sometimes takes my eyes extra time to focus, and she's always very understanding. She explains my options clearly without ever being sales-y. On my most recent visit, the patients before me arrived late, but she maintained an impressive level of professionalism both with them and me. A shout-out to Mary Jo as well. She's super friendly and follows up promptly. For example, after speaking with her over the phone, she mentioned that she'd get back to me in a few minutes. You know how some people say that, and then it takes them hours or days to do so? Well, Mary Jo indeed called me back in a few minutes! The location is convenient, the staff is friendly, and you get your contact lenses or glasses on a very timely basis. Five stars across the board! read more

I've worn glasses for about 15 years now. During that time I have bought glasses from a variety of places, but this For Eyes has become my go to place for glasses. The main reason I like this place so much is because of the staff. They are really awesome about helping you find the right frames for your glasses at the lowest price. Other glasses places have really tried to "upsell" me to "better" i.e. more expensive frames. This For Eyes does not do that! In addition to this the staff there will give you their honest opinion about the frames. If thee frames don't look good on you the staff will tell you. Some people might dislike this, but I see it as a huge plus. I've recommended this place to several of my friends, and I will continue to do so. read more

Yelp and For Eyes naperville is a Joke. They keep removing my honest review. Dont trust this site or this store. Rude, Dishonest, and Lazy people at this location. Naperville is the worse for Customer service and lack of competence. Save yourself some attitude you will get from the girl behind he counter. I've always had good things to say about this store until now. Very rude and condescending. The manager is not sympathetic or pleasant either. Legitimately the least helpful people I have ever met in my life. They only way to get them to do anything to help you out is to threaten to bring your business elsewhere. My vision insurance fully covers a 1 year supply of contacts with no out-of-pocket expense. They tried charging me for the entire order out-of-pocket. I was literally there for over an hour just to order contacts. They finally "got the clearance" to give me my contacts after I told them to cancel the order, as I would be going to another retailer. They also tried making me have another exam after less than 2 month. I will never be going back to this place. They have the WORST customer service I've ever seen, and they try charging you for irrelevant services. read more

Called in after an appointment asking them to fax or email me a prescription, they said it was a violation of HIPAA (totally untrue) to give me that information by email. Asked them to read it to me over the phone--they refused. They basically (imho) didn't want me to buy contact lenses online from somebody else, and violated MY rights under HIPAA to my information. They wasted a lot of my time (3 calls). http://www.hhs.gov/ocr/privacy/hipaa/faq/health_information_technology/570.html I asked them for their fax or email so I could show them it's not illegal under HIPAA to use electronic means to communicate with patients, but they refused to give me their email address or fax number. This store was a huge disappointment. I ordered sunglasses for a vacation earlier this year and paid for the polarization, color, and mirror. I was persistent and left weeks of cushion time between the expected delivery date and when I left for vacatipn. I received a call that they were in, and I went to pick them up. The technician opened the case, closed them and I felt rushed out the store. I asked to try them on and if I could get them adjusted on the ears. When he opened them they were not mirrored or colored. They were slightly grey colored lenses instead of blue mirrored. The technician insisted this is what I ordered, when showed the receipt he saw that it was not. He had them reshipped and the manager insisted I take the grey pair to use in the mean time. I appreciated the offer, but the glasses were not something I would wear. The second shipment was 'lost'. The third shipment arrived after I came back from vacation. The manager offered to refund me, but it was on an FSA and the allowance year was over. I found the grey pair recently and decided to give this location a second try before my upcoming vacation. I paid for the lenses to be colored, mirrored, and polarized. I received a call today saying they came back incorrect and would not be available for my trip. *Update* I received a call over my trip that the order was ready for pickup. On arrival at the store, they informed me that the order was not correct again. The lenses were not mirrored or colored as ordered. Do not waste your time or your resources dealing with this store. read more

The service has completely gone to the toilet ! I had serious problems with prescription contacts and even had to go to an ophthalmologist due to the eye problems caused by those defective contacts. I was NEVER informed by For Eyes that these contacts were on recall by the manufacturer. The manager or person in charge at For Eyes made it sound like I called to see what I could get for free. This place is a joke when it comes to looking out for their patients and their well being. They are only interested in making as much money off you. STAY AWAY from this place, there are better options in the eyecare industry. read more

I have a favorite pair of sunglasses. Somehow the pad for the nose bridge fell off. I didn't buy the glasses at For Eyes. I knew about the store form purchasing some glasses for my kids, several years ago. I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon to ask if they could install a new nose pad. The sales guy helping me was great. He took my sunglasses, removed the remaining nose pad, and installed two new nose pads. Cleaned my lenses. Handed me back my glasses within two minutes. All this for no charge. I'll be back to this For Eyes when I need new glasses! read more

I have had problems with the contacts I have been wearing from For Eyes. I tried to wear them for a few months but they have continued to be uncomfortable. I called and left a message for the doctor I saw and she called me back and said it would be best for one of the doctors to look at my eyes and see if another contact would be a better fit. When I called to make an appointment they told me there would be a charge. I explained that I was in there several months ago and did not need another eye exam I just needed the contacts they sold me checked. They refused to help unless I paid for another full exam. For Eyes is out for the money and does not care about their customers. My contacts are not comfortable but rather than looking at them and seeing if there is an issue with the contacts or their fit in my eye, they would rather just charge me for another exam that I don't need. Terrible customer service. I will go somewhere else where they really care about the customer. read more

I sent my wife in for an eye inspection which is covered under our insurance. They said her eyes were irritated and will need to come back. The doctor said here is a prescription for medicated eye drops. My wife said okay and started to walk out. They said you owe $60 and would not let her leave. My wife called me cornered because she went in there for an eye exam and was not able to do it and we are being charged $60. I called the store and agent was the least bit polite and explain she was Treated. I asked for what. They said they gave her a prescription and we owe $60 for that. I explain we only came in for an eye exam and nothing else. We don't need the prescription and we certainly aren't paying for a prescription when we didn't ask for it. They tried to get money from my wife and she is an immigrant. She is not knowledgable of the health care or insurance process. They tried to take advantage of my wife. I will not come here ever again and please be aware if you go here they may try to do the same with you. read more
