UPDATE: Fox Valley store mgr, Diana Mitchell, called me to offer me 50% off new lenses in the broken glass frame since I told her I had to rebuy the frame. I asked for them to reimburse the cost of the frame-$125.00. Since my prescription is 2 yrs old, I already bought new glasses at the Wheaton location so I don't have a need for another $800 prescription for those replacement frames even at 50% off. I plan on having Wheaton pop the old prescription in them to use them as a back up pair. Right now they're offering 50% off glasses and frames, so not really an offer I find to be helpful. Thumbs down Fox Valley--and Diana's message to me was she's going to be traveling, so she'll make a note in my file. Well, okay, that's great, but still not customer service. She's forcing me to spend $300-400 to recoup glasses broken under her supervision. read more

We went to LensCrafters on Labor Day and we were lucky to be waited on by Enyjah. They found a screw for my husband's decades old Cartier glasses and repaired them expertly. Enyiah was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. Even though we had not purchased anything from this store yet, Enyiah treated us like old friends and did a beautiful job tightening and straightening my glasses and my husband's. We just moved into the area and will be coming back in a few months when my Dr. does the new exam. read more

I have been a customer for a few years, really liked the customer service at this location. When I am on time, I patiently "wait" more than 10 to 15 minutes playing around with glasses before seeing the doctor. Today I came in 4 minutes "over" the grace period, hobbling to the store (sore knee). I was met with unprofessionalism when I walked in, the young lady stated you missed the grace period, I explained that I wait when I am on time, I just hobbled from the parking lot and asked to see the manager, she pointed and said, she's over there, I said go and get her. The employer explained my situation to the manager in front of another customer and of course the customer turned to see who was being referenced. The manager explained the same verbiage the employee stated. Where was the compassion as a returning customer? There was none! It will definitely take me a minute to return if I ever do. This was the first time, I didn't feel welcomed in an establishment that I thought highly of. And I understand rules and regulations are what they are, but they are only beneficial when needed. Been a patient for a couple of years but my last experience was just awful. No issues with my exam or the staff, but my glasses are just awful. I actually went back to wearing my old pair. When I went in to discuss, it took almost 15 minutes to just find me in their computer system. I wear trifocals and the far vision portion is so small that I need to walk around with my chin on my chest. I am not going back. read more

My hubby ordered new glasses from LensCrafters in Fox Valley Mall / Aurora, IL today... We had " Melanie" waiting on us. She went above & beyond to take care of us and make sure she explained EVERYTHING in detail so we knew exactly what we needed and wanted . She took her time and was very knowledgeable. Rude, snarky customer "service" jerks. LOUSY products. Bad lenses. Tried twice and the eyeglass lenses were poorly and inaccurately made. Then they try to gaslight you as if you haven't been wearing glasses for 30 years and know what glasses should look like. And then they get triggered when you say nope, take this junk back. Nice doctors. Nice manager. But the skirts at the counter and on the phone? Pfft. Awful. Choose elsewhere. Tracy score: cardboard. read more

I am outraged and deeply disappointed with LensCrafters at Fox Valley Mall - it was absolutely the worst experience I've ever had. They messed up my 5-year-old's eye exam appointment by booking it under my name instead of my child's, and after my kid went through the initial eye tests (with a lot of bribing on my part just to get them through it), we waited 25 minutes for the doctor. Then the staff told us we had to redo all the tests from scratch because they put them under the wrong name and refused to simply transfer the results. It's outrageous and completely unacceptable to waste our time and force a 5-year-old to do tests twice due to their incompetence. We walked out in disgust and will never return. read more

I was in last week to get 2 pairs of glasses for my daughter. (Regular glasses and sunglasses). They were not busy at all in the store. We were there about 20 minutes looking at & trying on frames. In that time not one person came over to greet us or ask if we needed help. This is not the first time this has happened at this particular store. We decided to leave and take our business elsewhere. We went to one of their competitors and spent our $570 on 2 pairs of glasses where they appreciated our business! read more

Lots of pros, but one con. The pros: + All staff were very kind and patient + I arrived early and they were even able to get me in early for the appointment + a much-needed eye exam with the friendly and thorough Dr. Peachey The con was that I couldn't find a single set of frames that I liked! I did learn that I might need kid's glasses because so many of the adult ones were so wide on my face! But at least I have my prescription, and the knowledge that some of their other stores have different stock, so maybe I will have to look elsewhere. My family and I we have been at this place as customers like the last 6 years until today. The Manager didn't want to provide repair service that they promised you once obtain your pair of glasses I paid for my glasses almost $500 out of pocket apart from what they usually take from my insurance and now I needed some cleaning and service. Well the manager in a very impolite way told me return in 45 min maybe I will have someone to help at this moment none can help you to fix your problem. I returned and they he told me I still have none to help you. And then he told me maybe not today. We won't came back ever! They just lost a customer. read more

From the minute I stepped into this LensCrafters to the minute I left I had top notch customer service. Devin assisted me on my eyeglasses providing me with honest replies to my questions about my selection and Dr. Nancy Casper provided a thorough examination answering all my questions as well as providing me with information in regards to her examination. I received my eyeglasses in half the time of the original estimated date of delivery. My eyeglasses are perfect! Everyone can have a bad day but all I've come into contact with have NOT!!! read more

What's with all the negative reviews? I have permanently switched from For Eyes to this particular LensCrafters because they are always nice and accommodating. The last couple times I was due for new contacts, they happily provided me with a new pair so I could make it until my appt date. I was heading out of town right before xmas and tore my last pair and they had new ones ready and waiting for me that day. Wait times can be a little long but oh well. At least they aren't super rude or act personally offended if u happen to buy a pair of glasses from an online store (looking at you For Eyes). read more

Today, I had taken my son (7) and daughter (6) to get their yearly eye exam for school. The wait time was minimal and the employees were kind. That being said, I applaud Dr. Kelly and the two kind Ophthalmic nurses for their patience with my kids especially my daughter. The nurses were able to work together to try and get a eye scan of my daughter who kept moving or blinking. While the nurses were working with my daughter, Dr. Mubeen came in to take Jack to continue his exam with her. Then about 5 minutes later she comes in with my son telling me that he may be too young and that he's not giving straight answers. I understood and then Dr. Kelly came to work with Adeline. I was thinking we were going to have the same situation as my son but Dr. Kelly was patient with Adeline and we worked together a little to guide Adeline to understand what needs to be done. So then Dr. Mubeen comes in and we step out to discuss a referral she was trying to get for Jack to be seen with a Pediatrician Optometrist. Well, then I decided to ask more questions to see exactly what the problem was since my daughter was able to and she's younger. After explaining to me I asked if we can try with me in the room so that I can help him focus. She accepted and we went to the room. Then she began to ask questions that I'm my opinion, are questions you would ask a preteen and above. I couldn't help but laugh inside because now I understood the problem and so I begin to tell my son the way a 7 year old child would understand. He begins to answer but again, her questions are confusing for his age. So he's struggling a little. Then she stops the exam and says something along the lines of "this is why I am recommending him to go see a pediatrician optometrist so that they can exam him." Okay, I'm a little annoyed because there wasn't enough effort in my opinion she was impatient and didn't take the time to word her sentences easier for a child to understand. Whatever, I accept her surrender and accept her recommendation even though I whole heartedly knew that this could've been accomplished there. Now, we go back and finish with Adeline Dr. Kelly gives me her exam paper for school and we head to the front. I'm checking out and Dr. Maureen walks up with another patient talks to the counter about them then turns to me to ask if Dr. Kelly was able to do the exam. I said yes then Dr. Mureen turned to my daughter and say "you're so smart!" ... I want to put 2 stars but it wouldn't be fair considering it's not the entire facilities problem it's just Dr. Mureens lack of patience and bedside manner. My son asked me when we went to go eat pretzels afterwards in the mall if he's smart? I told him yes he said "then why didn't the doctor think so". Ma'am I hope you read this review so that you can work on yourself. You were kind and seem like a lovely lady but you struck a nerve with me once my son is questioning himself because your impatience and your lack of thinking before saying, hurt my child. Also, now I have to take another day off because of you to have him seen by someone else, thank you for wasting our time. If you come here for a children's eye exam make your appointment with Dr. Kelly. He's not like super child friendly but he was kind, patient and got the job done with my child. That's enough for me considering this will only be once a year thing for us. read more

LensCrafters is losing another customer to Warby Parker today. I took my daughter shopping for her glasses on Martin Luther King day almost 2 weeks ago. At the time LensCrafters store said the glasses should be ready in 7 to 10 days. That was already way below my expectations but since we had already completed the exam and picked out the frames we said OK and planned on coming back in a week or so. I have heard nothing from them since that day, when I called today I was told they had no "physical tracking number "and that the new expected day would be most likely sometime around February 8 which makes it more than three weeks from the date of purchase that the glasses will arrive at the store. So now in addition to waiting three weeks for the glasses to be ready I will have to make a special trip back to the mall to pick them up from the store because they do not deliver. This will be the last time we go to any LensCrafters anywhere! There were hidden fees in the preparation of the lenses that weren't known until after frames picked out and exam done. Hidden fees resulted in them costing nearly 3 times what they should have cost or would have cost with WarbyParker or some other mail order vision sellers (nearly $300 out of pocket for a single pair of glasses AFTER insurance!). So the lousy customer service combined with being ridiculously overpriced, and extremely SLOW and an unreliable delivery system =NOPE! NEVER AGAIN LENS CRAFTERS!!! ... going to Walmart or Warby Parker next time! Similar frame selections and same lenses for 1/3 of the price and better, more timely service! read more

Very happy with our experience-we have been going to Costco Optical for years and just switched to LensCrafters because of new insurance. LensCrafters made the entire experience for us so easy and less complicated than at Costco. We are very happy with our experience and highly recommend taking your family here. What happened to LensCrafters at Fox Mall? One year ago, I gave them 5 Stars Rating ... Today, 1 Star!! Here's Why. Last week, I was set up an appointment which I thought was for 2:00 PM. When I arrived, I was told by the front desk that my appointment was at 1:00 PM. I told them it was an honest mistake however I NEVER received an email, text or call to verify the time and day. I explained that this would had been avoided if any communication would had been established. However, I rescheduled for the following week, which they did confirm via text and call to confirm time and date prior to My appointment. My appointment was at 1:00pm, but I arrived at 12:45pm. I was seen by 1:00 pm. They then conducted the pre exam before being seeing the Eye Doctor. I, then, sat and waited AND WAITED to be seen, by 2:15 PM, I was still waiting alone in the Waiting Room, which no one ever approached me to tell me why I was waiting for so long. After waiting, I made an intelligent decision to leave the facility. My philosophy is as follows: My time is valuable and should be respected. LenCrafters at Fox Mall is NOT the only Eye Care provider in the State of Illinois, there are PLETHORA of Eye Care facilities that are willing to earn my business and respect my time and money. This company could care less about you as a patient. They just want your money. They falsely advertise that they can put prescriptions on certain sunglasses when they actually can't. You can't just get a plain pair for glasses. You MUST get all the coatings they say you have to get. You pay for a contact lens exam but they don't tell you that they only schedule fittings during the day when kids are in school or people work. If you don't take off or pull your kid out of school you lose your money. They don't do it on Sunday's but most kids have activities on Saturdays. So you're stuck taking them out of activities or pulling out of school. They won't even release your prescription for you when they won't work with you. So basically they just take your money and you get nothing. Oh and BTW I found the exact same pair of Rayban glasses my daughter wanted at a different optical place for HALF the cost. Like I said, they are just about the money. Go to real eye doctors, not these corporate jokes! read more

They used to be good, or maybe I was young and naive. Tested out contacts for the first time from them. The contacts were not working, when I told the optometrist she told me, "That's the way they are, are you going to buy them or what?" She had no patience with me putting in contacts. Been a glasses wearer all my life, give me a break. They also gave me glasses with two left nose pads. The final straw was when my glasses fell apart on my face! Didn't get hit with them, didn't even touch them. The hinges were loose. Expensive for lazy craftsmanship. But would still rather go here than Vision Works. Zing. read more

I have had both decent and disappointing experiences at this Lens Crafters. They are always running some sort of promotion designed to make you look like a fool of you don't get a second pair. They do have a large selection, but do not tend to carry very trendy or edgy specs. The last time I went, the person showing me the glasses had very little experience. Literally the worst customer service There is no point in making an appointment. You will still have to wait a minimum of 20 min before You're even spoken to. Then the appointment isn't for the correct service. This has happened twice to me. You wouldn't t think it would be a hard concept but apparently it's rocket science. read more

Never thought I'd be reviewing a Lenscrafters but I thought people should be aware. Husband and I thought we'd try somewhere new for our glasses this year. We get a new pair including prescription sunglasses every single year and we have optical insurance. BEWARE: During the pre eye exams we were told that we had two choices. 1. We could get our eyes dilated or 2. get some pictures taken so they could see the health of our eyes. I opted for neither. My husband opted for the photo. We were never told that the photo was an extra charge of $50 not covered by insurance. Way to sneak in an extra charge with in the first five minutes! Next came a VERY impersonal eye exam where I was told that my eyes required the "premium" everything when it comes to glasses. Suuure they do. My doctor brought her report of all the extras and premium requirements I "needed" for my glasses to the sales people up front. We picked out our frames. Husband and I both needed progressive lenses. We always stay within the $150 each for our frames which our insurance pays for so we do not have to pay anything over that. They total up the price and WITH our optical insurance that will be over $1200.00, yes I said $1200.00 out of pocket!! This didn't even include the 2 pair of sunglasses! I was floored. We never pay more than $500 max total out of pocket for 2 pair glasses and 2 pair sunglasses!! I complained and she said "of course they recommended premium lenses for you so I will downgrade it and re calculate" This time it came to $800 total for just the two pairs of glasses. We had her calculate our sunglasses in and yep.. that's another $800. Our normal 4 pair were going to cost $1600 and that was the CHEAP price according to them! Here is a question... why on earth do we need bifocals for our sun glasses? Are we reading magazines in the car when we're driving? No way! We paid the $50 for the stupid unnecessary eye photo that my husband had taken, took our prescriptions and left. We drove right over to For Eyes in Oswego and got 2 pairs of glasses (even the exact same Vouge brand frames that Lenscrafters had) and 2 pairs of sunglasses, with everything we needed, all for a total of $350.. TOTAL for 4 pairs!! Will never be back to Lenscrafters. They were greedy and they lost us. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I called and explained to receptionist (who was rude) that I had gone to another location but was having issues. She told me I needed my records and that they couldn't see me without them. I got my records from my original location (who couldn't get me in ) and went for my appointment. I checked in and made it clear to receptionist once again that I was there for an issue other than glasses or contacts. To which the rude lady told me she needed to contact the original store to get key records(really??? Now you can get them?) I pulled out my records to give to her in which I was told that those weren't my records just a receipt. I insisted that if she looked she would see they were actual eye exam records. She then sees they are records but needs to call the store anyways and that they need to charge me for an eye exam! Really? I had a full exam 2 weeks ago This place is only good if you want a contact or eye glasses to be pedaled on you. Any eye issue that comes up or needs to be checked. This is not the place! read more

Scheduling an appointment is easy here, I've been able to get in sometimes the same day. But when I arrive, I always have to wait a long time to be seen by the doctor, which is really frustrating. Dr. Miranda is friendly and professional. I never feel pressured, only encouraged, to get additional exams. When I calmly explain that I don't have vision insurance, she still encourages me to have certain things done, but does not get rude or authoritative. I keep going to Lenscrafters because of Dr. Miranda, and because of the big selection of frames. However, I always get sucked in by a pair of really overpriced frames. They carry designer frames by Tiffany's, Chanel, RayBan, and so on. I spent a fortune on new glasses and contacts here. Glasses are made quickly, sometimes in the same day. I always have to special order my contacts, which is pretty ridiculous considering they are a busy facility and should have everything in stock. What should be a quick appointment, and fairly quick checkout, can be agonizing. You also have to wait for someone to help you with your frames and final order. Just the thought of the agonizing wait here is pissing me off. read more

One star does not do them justice. I really don't like giving one star, you really have to work for it to earn one from me. The doctors were excellent, let me start of with. Eye exam was thorough and i was comfortable. Once we got to the hardware stage things went south quick! They attempted to push the sale of new frames down my throat . I had purchased new frames from this lenscrafters a year and a half ago, and opted for a premium frame- quite costly. The told me the frame was too old and the frame might break. Ok, i understand maybe I'm hard on my glasses. I didn't like any of the styles on the shelves but i also didn't want to pay another 600 for the same frames. They wouldn't even try to put in new lenses. And they lady helping me acted as if she was offended that i didn't want to get something that i didn't like, or pay for the same set of glasses. After she copped and attitude, i got up and left. This is a true example of what happens with big business, how they lose there customers by teaching their sales associates to force a sale. Please find a small business that actually cares about keeping their customer, and will try to help instead of sell. read more

I truly think they don't care about their business! I went there with my mom to have her glasses adjustment, I expected to have a long wait but the thing is, the people working there weren't so professional! The girl who helped us was talking so loud to her another coworker about their love life, blah blah blah...so ignoring! They don't really care what the customer needs! Indeed, just "enjoy" their chatting time(which is not supposed to be), after she fixed my mom glasses she didn't even clean her glasses but left ALL her finger print on my mom glass! Gosh! They are just so unprofessional! The store looks very good and they really need to remodel it! It's better go to the one at Wheaton, store looks 10 times better(and cleaner) than fox valley one and they are much pro than them! read more

I called ahead and scheduled an appointment for 7PM on Friday. I showed up about a half an hour early so that I could look through frames and get an idea for what I wanted. When I showed up they said nothing about running late with exams. 7:05 rolled around and I asked the receptionist about how much longer it would be. She told me it would only be a couple minutes. I took a look at the appointment book and noticed that they had scheduled 4 appointments with two doctors for 7PM. I waited until 7:20 for my 7PM appointment,, but they were not even close to being ready. read more

Not thrilled. I went here to get my prescription filled. At my old age I need bifocals. Well the one frame that I could find that I just loved, was unsuitable for bifocals or so they say. Eventually they talked me into another pair that just didn't scream me it more like whispered. So I took them home and told my husband what happened. The next day I took back. I told them I just wasn't happy with the glasses. It took me 2 hours to get a refund!!!! I thought they had a policy like if your not happy we are not. But there is a happy ending-- I found the frames I loved at another store for $100 cheaper, and they could make them into bifocals. But please don't tell anyone I wear bifocals... it's so embarrassing. 05/18/2007 I had to go back for an ASAP eye exam. My right was throbbin. My appt was at 4:40 pm and I saw the Dr at around 5:50 pm. Yeah you do the math. However the Dr was really sweet with my daughter. I recommend the Dr she was astounding! I scheduled my appointment a week in advance on the website. When I arrived I was checked in and quickly taken care of. The staff was very courteous, professional, and informative. I was seen by Dr. Shah who was extremely professional and I felt as if my eye condition was treated in the best way possible. Even though I have to drive an hour to go there, I feel as if I will be going to LensCrafters for years to come. Good service is hard to come by and for me, the drive is well worth it. I went in to get my glasses fixed, as the screw popped out. I give them to the kid to fix them, and he said to give him 3 minutes. No problem. He comes back, and there is a huge deep gauge in the inside of my lense! I told him that was not there before I handed him the glasses, he denied doing it. I talked to the manger, and nothing. So now I filed a complaint against the BBB and wrote the corporate office. Unreal. They wont replace them, the manger did nothing. read more

We called in a pinch because my husband's glasses broke and they said to come in so they could take a look to see if they could fix. We came in and they immediately said they'd be able to fix it and took them back to work on them. I was worried about how much it would cost to fix and when I was told it was free, I was flabbergasted. Not only is the customer service top notch, the employees are super knowledgeable but they also offer extremely good products and services. So grateful to lens crafters Huge shout out to Karen who helped me directly and Jordan who I observed with other customers being so accommodating and knowledgeable. I love LensCrafters for their convenience and flexibility. I have had no issues getting the appointment that I needed and they have been able fit me in on short notice. I used them last year and this year; each time with Dr. Alexander. She's amazing, explained the process to me, patient with my questions and respectful. I've had bad experiences with other places (Rosin Eyecare and Sears) so it was a nice change to feel comfortable and be able to bring up concerns. I haven't ordered glasses from them so I can't really speak about that. But they aren't annoying about it and didn't try to pressure me into buying glasses. The contacts that I've ordered were delivered promptly and I was given a few days' worth of lenses while I waited. read more

Super annoyed with the office staff. Made an appointment with a man who answered the phone. Was able to get a "next day" appointment, or so I thought. Apparently the associate got his Tuesday and Thursday mixed up because he assured me it was "tomorrow" a half a dozen times. Went into the office and the appointment wasn't until the end of the week. They couldn't/wouldn't fit us in, even after dragging my kids to the mall for an appointment for my 5 year old. They said we could wait to see if there were any no-shows, which we did, and still neighing. It was early in the afternoon- they should have rectified THEIR mistake instead of blowing us off. LensCrafters is a wonderful eye clinic that offer a very helpful and reliable service. First of all, the staff there are very professional, but also very friendly and efficient, especially Erica, Vince, and Maria (also including Doctor Peachey). They helped with everything: they helped us with our glasses+lenses, our eye exams, and many more. They cleared up a lot of our confusion and clarified all the information so we would be getting the best deal from them. You can tell they all have a lot of insight and are very knowledgeable: they thoroughly explain everything to their customers. I have only good things to say for them, as they have great customer service and a very thorough eye exam process. I highly recommend visiting if you are ever in need of/in search of a good eye clinic. read more
