I had too many choices to choose from and what is interesting my insurance could cover a pair of free glasses but with the help of a young lady she showed me designer brands that all I had to do was pay very little for them. I've been dealing with Oxie since last summer. The eye doctor on staff is quite attentive. When my newest Rx just didn't seem right, he sent me to a specialist because he was concerned I had cataracts. I did. After both surgeries, I was able to get the perfect pair of glasses. This summer, I went back for Rx sunglasses, and I had another wonderful experience. The staff is patient and makes good suggestions. Since my lenses are blended, the first effort didn't fit my personal needs, and Mia couldn't have been nicer when I went in for an adjustment. The turnaround time for each pair was quicker than I expected. I now own two wonderful pairs of glasses from Oxie, and I hope to go back from one more. Since I'm writing this during the pandemic, I also have to applaud them on their safety measures. Limiting customers in the store, mask wearing, and cleaning everything made me feel comfortable and safe. I recommend Oxie! read more

What a hidden gem eye care in downtown Aurora. 4.5 stars. Excellent service Dr. McGee and his staff were awesome. The look of this store is really eye catching from the steel vault doors and the bar area to check in. They use all the up to date equipment no air puff of air in your eye while trying not to blink. Nope! It was quick and efficient. The only hard part was picking out what frames fit well for our face. Every frame has a colored dot on the upper corner and a list price below which made it easy for anyone's price point. They offer brands from Kate spade, Ray-Ban to many more. So, last year I thought I'd save money by ordering my prescription glasses online. Sure, they were only 36 dollars but realized when it comes to your eyes, you can't skimp on glasses. Having a high astigmatism prescription that usually have to be sent away, I should not have been messing around with my eyes like that (dumb me). Ok, so I never would have known I was wearing the wrong prescription glasses if I hadn't stop inside Oxie. I pass this cutesy shop on my way home and so I popped in to check out the selection. Mia greeted me warmly and had my original doctor's prescription checked against my online purchased lenses. She found that the online store had messed up my prescription so needless to say, no more online glasses for me. She also help me narrow down my selection because up to date and cool frames are about the only thing I'm incredibly indecisive about. Their pricing plan is easy on the checkbook. They didn't accept my insurance outright but Mia called my insurance to see what the out of network insurance reimbursement procedure was and had the forms printed for me to fill out. So today I picked up my frames, partially feeling like an idiot for wearing the wrong rx but so excited to wear my new frames. My goodness, it's like night and day. I heart my new cool frame :) PLEASE do yourself a favor: avoid any eyeglass chain or online stores. I searched for a while to get my mom's perscription updated who is diabetic and has Medicaid. Your big box stores/chains didn't want to deal with the hassle of Medicaid and they were also very misinformed. They referred me to Oxie and Mia and team were amazing. Not only were they patient but they also ensured to regularly follow up with the insurance company and helped my mom adjust her lenses as they got messed up from the provider (not a surprise). When I scheduled my appointment, they answered right away and made it very easy to schedule an appointment around my busy schedule. They then sent a reminder text the day before confirming the appointment. When I got there, Mia greeted me with a huge smile and the eye doctor was able to see me right when I got there. After that, they had many different options for glasses and contacts and made it very easy to find the ones that were right for me. Also, a huge bonus was that they accept most insurance companies.
