I would give them a zero. RUDE STAFF and they do not listen at all! The receptionist and the doctor were the most rude. They just are trying to take your money with the so call hidden fees. If you want to go somewhere go to Americans best great deals. You can always get fancy glasses online for cheap. The lady told my wife that since they already did a glasses exam they can't do contacts as well because they were closing in an hour then they just sat there talking the rest of the hour. I'd give 0 stars if that was an option. This location takes the trophy for being the absolute worst and hopeless vision care/glasses store. Horrible customer service, my glasses prescription was messed up THREE times. Once, ok.. Twice, C'mon.. but three times? They made glasses for me with some one else's prescription and the first time, my spouse picked up my glasses for me. When I tried them on at home, it was all blurry and I took back to store. The store people were in denial and thought I was out of my mind. Then lazily when they read out the personal details, I said that's not my DOB and that's not my home address. They were like 'oh.. ok we will correct this'. Ok, mistakes happen, I gave them another chance. Second time, I drove over, got the glasses, tried them on. Same story. AGAIN, they got the prescription wrong. Three weeks later, they called me to try on the glasses and guess what? YEP. Again Wrong Prescription. Someone else's lenses in the frame I ordered. You pay top dollar at this place to get same day/expedited prescriptions filled and when I went to the store last week they didn't have the lenses for not one but two pairs of glasses and they had to send out to be made. From another place, my glasses broke. A woman that works here went above and beyond for me. I was able to walk out that day with a new pair of glasses. They said they never do that, but I was the exception because not having glasses is a matter of safety. They really valued my well being and put me first before other customers. The woman that helped me was very friendly and easy to talk to. The reason why I don't give this five stars isn't from my own experience. I just noticed that whoever runs this facility under staffs the workers so there is a lot of people waiting and the staff working was extremely stressed out. Maybe it was because I came in on Christmas Eve, but I think that it would be worth their time to value their employees more by not putting as much stress on them. Overall, this place is amazing! The frames are pretty expensive because they sell all designer brand frames, but they of course are amazing quality. I would definitely come back here! read more

I saw Dr. Losardo and he was awesome! I needed new contacts and he spend A LOT of time finding the right prescription and trying out different brands. He sent me home with several samples of different brands so I could test them and figure out which one I liked best before purchasing. Granted, I went at 10:30 on a Wednesday so they weren't super busy, but I feel he would've done the same even if they were busy. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because of their warranty policy. I purchased the scratch resistance and within 4 months my lenses had several scratches. I still had to pay the $25 co-pay to get the lenses replaced. I could understand if it had been almost a year, but after 4 months I don't feel I should've had to pay anything to get them replaced. read more

Two words: Scam Artists. As everyone else here has said, these guys never explain there are two options for an eye exam, complete and basic. When I went in they explained my coverage would be for $49 plus a $10 copay. I asked them what my insurance covered and they said it was the remainder of the $108. At no point in time did LensCrafters make it clear there was a basic eye exam option. My basic insurance would have left me with only a $10 copay. I mentioned this to the manager who spoke with one of the associates. I expected the problem would have been solved. Then when I went to pay they demanded full payment. I told them I was never given the option of a basic exam. They said I had been informed it would be a $49 charge for the complete exam and had agreed to pay that amount up front. Yeah the amount was agreed but that was when I thought it was the only option! I picked up my prescription and paid the bill then left. LensCrafters: I am an attorney and will seriously consider rounding up reviewers who have been similarly scammed to look into class action options. At the very least I will never set foot in a LensCrafters for as long as I live. Neither will anyone in my family, and I'm in a family of 8! I was planning on spending north of $500 today at your store. Now because you deceptively and willfully misled me to secure 10% of that amount you won't see another dime from me. read more

They are a joke. They upsell but also the staff is not really educated on taking over after the exam. My prescription Oakleys are a joke even after they admitted they made a mistake and had them redone. The progressive lenses are still not done well and so they go " oh well .. Maybe its these new Oakley lenses." They are about money and not true eye professionals. Darn me for waiting for the last minute when I had to wear glasses on a sunny day! Being closer to home, I called this location of Lenscrafters at Fox Valley Mall and they had them on hand for me to pick up. The whole family goes here now even though there are plenty of physicians closer. We love the wide selection of frames. We like that you can make your appointment online. Downside is they always try to upcharge and don't tell you everything that isn't covered under your insurance. The doctor was awesome teaching my daughter how to use contacts for the first time. The customer service here is really bad , i dont think i will be coming back. Last week it took almost an hour for someone to help me order my glasses when there were employees having conversations with one another not working. Today i had an appointment at 9 am and we were waiting for them to open the gate all the way up , instead they all keep having their conversations and we have to go under the gate to get in, acting like we werent there waiting. They dont greet us when we come in , instead i look around for glasses while i wait and only then they greet me as if i hadnt already been here for more then five mins. read more

LensCrafters has my prescription from 2013. Requested adjustments to current glasses, wanted to order replacement pair plus to order a line bifocal for close-in work. They asked when I wanted an exam. They will not replace or issue new glasses without one. Not going to play their game. I said goodbye and they are out several hundred dollars. Sure I will pay at another optometrist, but its the principle of forcing a customer to do something they don't want to do. They lost my business. read more

The worst service and incompetent optometrist that you will find. First I get an eye exam and they then sell me $1,800 worth of glasses only to find out two months later that my problem was cataracts. Never told me that new glasses wouldn't help. In fact the cataracts were so bad the ophthalmologist couldn't see through them to measure for my replacement lens. He had to do what they call water immersion to measure for the lens they had surgically implant after they cut out the cataract filled lens. Then I had the cataract surgery and was refracted again by LensCrafters and they are still trying to get the replacement lens for the two pair of glasses I bought - over 3 weeks later after my surgery. Despite their mistake I actually had to call them since they never follow through. So when I called them they tell me to come in so they could put in the replacement lenses for my glasses and when I get there they tell me that the lab sent the wrong lens. Now they say it's going to be another week. They say they'll call you and never do. This is now three months of suffering with bad vision due to their gross incompetence. Bottom line. Don't go to this store. read more

Inexperienced staff, poor service and premium prices. Exam day: Took 2.5 hours for an eye exam for me and my daughter and to enter the prescription into the computer. The associate did not know how to perform many tasks and required assistance from another. After letting them know that I want to pick up all 3 when ready, I received 3 seperate phone calls, when each pair came in. 2 pairs of average frames and lenses plus 1 pair of lenses costs $700 WITH insurance. Pick up day: Came in, said my name and received one pair of glasses. They don't bother to check the invoice to see that there are 3 pairs waiting for me. One pair needed the lenses mounted on the frames. Was told it would take approx an hour. Came back in 2- they still weren't ready. When they were, the associate put the glasses and don't make any adjustments to make sure the frames fit your face. One day later, lens fell out. The screw on the frame is stripped. What a waste of time. I had a better experience at Wal-Mart! read more

My experience with this Lenscrafters is really bad. Got a pair of glasses in March and I paid the extra for antiscratch option. The glasses was not cheap even with insurance. My glasses was fine at the time. Recently I had blurry vision and I found out there were a lot of scratches on both lenses. I told the girl at the reception that it should not have such bad scratches with the antiscratch protection. She told me that I didn't take care of it properly. So typical they always blame others! This is a very poor quality lense. Not even comparible to glasses from Sams. Anyway, they won't do anything to replace the lens. I'd suggest to go to For Eyes or other places instead of here. read more

If your looking for an eye exam or glasses keep looking. The staff is very unprofessional. The prices are outrageous. I went for the first time a year and a half ago and had a horrible experience, I gave them another try and had just as horrible experience. The sales people would not leave me alone. My exam was done before my wife's so when I came out they ask if I need help with frames and I told them I was going to just wait until my wife was with me to decide....ok but they continued to follow me around asking If I liked anything (just annoying). When my wife came out she picked our frames for herself and the sales lady kept asking her if she wanted different ones even after my wife told her she only wanted the ones she picked out. I noticed they did not fill in the part of the prescription that said pupil distance so I asked if they could do it and they instantly became very hostile asking why I would need that info and said they don't give that info out. I told them I wanted the option to buy sun glasses on line and I needed that measurement. They still refused and then I asked them why it had a place on the prescription and they responded with "like I said we will not give you that information.". I think it is crazy they wont give you that info after paying $130 for an eye exam. I understand they want you to buy glasses from them and not on line but its on the prescription sheet and when the customer asks they should produce it. I will never go to this or any Lens Crafters again after the past two visits. I will never recommend them to anyone. I have used this facility for over 10 years and had found them very mediocre but due to the location and convenience stayed with them. I have just dumped them because they are getting quite unprofessional and rude. Their service standards are sloppy and they will cancel appointments due to doctors schedules or other insurance reasons often and not call you to let you know but when you go there - they will lie and say that they did call you. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I agree with the other reviewers who say this place is only about money. read more

Went to have temple screw tightened on $300 glasses that were less then 2 years old. Got them back broken with "He couldn't fix it so....." Yea won't go there again and definitely do not recommend anybody else. You are much better off going to an actual doctor's office. They truly do value their patients. read more

Very helpful staff. I purchased a pair of prescription Ray Ban sunglasses and a regular pair of progressive lens. The sunglasses worked out great but I didn't like the way the regular glasses fit or looked. Holly and Erica were very helpful in switching out my glasses for another pair. It was difficult making the appointment as it is because of the distance from home but since my family usually goes there I thought to make it there. LensCrafters was having a 50% off lens sale. I have AARP and AAA which pays 30% off a complete pair of glasses. They said that the AARP or AAA could only be used for the eye exam since the 50% off was higher. The doctor was excellent - the others just so so. The frames, no line bifocals and transition lenses came to $476 - that's with the 50% off lens sale. I did not buy them. Went to WalMart the next day - they weren't having a sale. The frames, no line bifocals and transition lenses were $226. WalMart did not have the frames that LensCrafters had; that would have raised my cost at WalMart to around $300; still a big savings. I WILL NEVER GO BACK! Scheduling my appointment was the only easy thing. I had my eye exam done and they told me I needed bifocals, I'm only 25. Then when it came time to picking out my frames, the lady helping me kept pushing me to buy the most expensive frames possible and when I would comment on the ones I liked, which were half the price all she had was negative things to say... I was there for over 3 hours. I picked up my glasses the next day and had them for a little over a week before I had to return them because I couldn't see out of them. I went back to exchange them for a single lens, that lady who helped me tried charging me for a new pair of glasses instead of doing a simple exchange. I was getting a couple hundred dollars back in the mail since I paid by check and she said it will take 2 days, of course I assumed it was business days. I called several days later to find out when I was supposed to receive the check, the first person I talked to said two business days and then realized that it had been more than that so he transferred it to the lady who last helped me. She then said 2-3 business days.. it had been that long, she said she will call me back. When she called me back she then told me it now will take up to 10 business days, this changed that apparently no one knew about, took place a few weeks back. I am now waiting to get the money and they say there isn't anything they can do besides say sorry. Everyone acts like they have no idea what is going on with anything. To be honest a one star is generous. The problem with this location is not the Doctors, it's the people and the procedures they have in place. I can't tell you how many times I have had an appointment and sat and waited a 1/2 hour. The process of which you have to go through to get your exam is brutal but not quite as brutal as getting contacts or glasses. They have no concept of your personal time. Lastly if you get an exam there and you need new contacts or glasses they will not give you your prescription. Which means you are locked in to buying them from Lenscrafters. In one respect I get it but on the other end I don't. I WAS a customer of Lenscrafters for 9 years. No more. A recent incident was the straw that broke the camel's back. Okay, so last January I purchased a pair of Oakley prescription glasses. I spent a pretty penny on these glasses and expect nothing but the best in return when it comes to customer service from Lens Crafters and Oakley's. Well needless to say, the glasses started to get discoloration and the frames started to seperate and as well as other "defects". (I expect this from a cheap pair of glasses, maybe from America's Best) I went to Oakley's website which clearly states that they will replace at place of purchase (Lenscrafters) free of cost. At first Lenscrafters gave me the run around saying that they will replace the frames at 50% of the cost. After I argued and made my point clear that oakley would replace the frames, they went ahead and offered to handle the replacement through Oakleys. They advised that they would take care of shipping the frames to them and get me a new pair by early December. Well, they called me a day ago and advised that they had my frames in. Went to the store only to find out that Oakley did not replace them and are saying that the damage is normal wear and tear. B.S.!!!! Lens Crafter's went a head and told me that they will replace as long as they were available. Which they are according to Oakley. Some one, Oakley's or Lenscrafter's needs to take ownership of this and replace my frames. I am not asking to be upgraded, I am just asking them with a new pair due to defects on the frames, not wear and tear. I will be taking this matter to the BBB if I get no response. I stood there looking at their overpriced $400 glasses (because I was serious about buying them) and after 10 minutes, someone finally walked over. The part that irritates me is that they wouldn't allow me to buy their glasses without ANOTHER eye exam - because the last one I took their "expired" 2 months ago. So I left. One of the worst sales experiences of my life. I went on a whim to get new glasses - my old ones were scratched - and was able to get in relatively quickly to see the doctor. The sales associate who did my "pre-exam" was rude & when I was sitting in the waiting room, I heard the staff loudly complaining about "Naperville Women" and how difficult they were to please. I almost got up & left right there...I should have. The doctor was quick & professional, which I appreciate, but the sales associate who did my pre-exam took down information about me that wasn't true & twisted my words (he told the doctor that I am diabetic, which I am not, I have a blood sugar processing problem, but it is not diabetes). I had already picked out my frames, so it was relatively quick once I was done with the exam. When I balked at the price of my sunglasses, it was only then that the sales associate decided to tell me it would be less with their current promotion. I paid for my 2 pairs of glasses & it came to around $450, which seemed high to me. I was never given a breakdown of anything, so I assumed that it was all that could be done. When I got my receipt, I looked & there was a $35 1-year warranty added on to each pair, not covered by insurance. I asked the sales associate what this was and he told me "it is automatically added to the type of lenses I had chosen" (LIE) I told him that I was in no way interested in paying $70 for warranties I will never use. He told me he had to check with his manager to see if this was something he could take off the price of the lenses, as it came automatically. He left for about 5 minutes & while he is gone (1) I look at the sheet he wants me to sign at the bottom & it specifically has a spot to indicate whether or not I wanted the warranty and THEN (2) I hear the sales associate at the next table specifically explaining the warranty & asking her customer if she wants it. It was something they were supposed to do, not just tack it on so they can increase their commission. The manager came over about 15 minutes later to "authorize the refund" and didn't seem to at all care what his associate had done. I expressed to the manager that I didn't like having things thrown at me & not explained & ESPECIALLY do not appreciate being lied to. He just said "OK, sorry...he should have explained it" without even looking at me. My glasses were done an hour later & I had the misfortune of having to work with the same sales associate to pick them up. He didn't take any time to make any adjustments & just asked if they were slipping & then sent me on my way. As I write this, I have realized that the ear pieces should have been bent so they are not sticking out of the back of my head. The following day, I was looking at my receipt & comparing it to my insurance coverage when I notice and "Premium AR S43" for over $100. My insurance has a $45 copay for Anti Reflective coating, so I immediately called LensCrafters. It turned out that the sales person had decided to "upgrade" the anti-glare coating without mentioning it to me. It is not an upgrade I ever would have done, so I once again had to waste my time getting a refund. I am lividly angry - the sales associate was obviously only concerned with his commission, not making anything right for his customer or presenting the options. And getting me out the door, not making sure my glasses fit correctly. When these factors were brought up to the management at LensCrafters, they did not seem to care in the least - it was like this was a regular occurrence for their customers. read more

(If I could give a -0, I would.) This is a review of the location inside Fox Valley mall. I have gone to this location several times in the past and have always left frustrated or poor. They are soooo unprofessional! Why does this store allowed to do business with a rating of 2.3 stars out of 5? Why haven't the owners done anything to improve the quality of their employees? Please read all the reviews. Lencrafters at Fox Valley mall is the pits!!! If you go to this location, bring your lunch cuz you will wait at least 30 minutes and then add another hour or more on top of that if you decide to stay and use their services. Tonight when I arrived at this store, there was no one at the front desk. An employee who was helping another customer called out from her work station and asked if I was picking up glasses? - "no". Do you want to order glasses? - "no but I'd like a cost estimate". I was told it would be at least 25 minutes before I could be seen and to feel free to start looking at frames. Funny, I didn't say anything about needing frames; I just want a cost estimate. I agree with the other reviews - this location is out to make $$. I told the employee that I have a pair of frames for which I want to get a cost estimate on new lenses. I was told it was still going to be 25 minutes. Absolutely HORRID customer service. This was my final visit to this location and I knew I should not have returned. My last visit was to pick up a supply of contacts, to which they had me wait over an hour for. In general, I would have just been annoyed, but at the time was 8 months pregnant and tried to explain I had called AHEAD of time to confirm they were in. This LAST visit was to once again pick up an additional supply of disposable lens only to be told, "It should only be 5-10 minutes" and the wait time being drawn up to half and hour. After I approached the kiosk in the center of the store I was told, "Yeah, I thought they would have gotten to you already, sorry looks like it will be longer". No further explanation, no apologies. I'm mortified they can continue with customer service like this. I have sent a note to the Store Manager and also contacted their corporate office. I'm not looking for any deals or incentives to return, but they should absolutely take note of the way they are treated customers in this location. read more

Horrible Experience! Went to get a pair of glasses made and was approached by a short Hispanic female. She was very rude and unprofessional. While I was inquiring about getting an eye exam, she actually walked away while I was talking. After pulling a disappearing act, she again approached me a minute later. We proceeded to select a time for an eye exam, and instead of giving me an appointment she began texting on her cell phone. I naturally reacted with frustration and annoyance and asked if she planned on giving me an appointment sometime in this century. To which she replied very curtly, "I'm not giving you attitude." Still tempted by the idea of getting glasses made in an hour, I ignored her extremely unprofessional and rude behavior. I waited for another two minutes, which was absolutely futile since she was still busy texting and made no attempt to give me an appointment.
