My wife had ordered me a pair of glasses with a " easy prescription" in store(a sales rep states) and it'll only take 54 hours to do. Well it's been a week and a day.. this store refuses to get back me or my wife. And when they do finally answer they keep telling us the same thing " it'll be here tomorrow or it just got delivered ".. I dont mind the wait but don't tell my wife or me that it's a "easy prescription" and fail to mentioned that is has to shipped. I use to work in sales and when I know somethings can take awhile I don't tell my customers a time estimation or I don't keep telling them the same thing. Just be direct, don't just tell me whatever to get me to get out of the store or off the phone. read more

I completely disagree with the other reviewer. I came here assuming that it was going to totally suck - but it was a pleasant surprise. The doctor is very nice and he wants to make sure you like your contacts before you buy them. He let me try two different kinds and I found a brand that doesn't turn my eyes red immediately. I was in a hurry to get contacts and they got me in that day (Saturday). I never have to wait long to see the doctor - which is a big thing for me. The receptionists have always been polite to me and I am happy with the experience. If you know what you want and need to get in and out I would recommend it. read more

Dr. Reyes, Frank, and Simon provided excellent service! I had gotten hit in the eye with a rock while mowing the lawn, and they were quick to fit me in for an examination. Dr. Reyes numbed my eye after hearing that I have issues with touching eyes (myself and others) and was able to check pressure and look for any significant damage, and I didn't feel a thing! Verdict: Great/fast customer service with lots of attention to details, and no massive pressure to purchase (unlike other places I've been), I'm surprised that a Target optical can provide such efficient and knowledgeable service! For many years the optometrist I have seen at Target Optical, Naperville, is Dr. Choi. He is a knowledgeable doctor whom I recommend. Dr. Choi is easy to converse with if you have questions or need his suggestions. Both staff members in the front room whom I've interacted with were helpful and appeared attentive in their job. I don't recall their names however, and will revise this entry when I have them. My only complaint is that there is a very small selection of frames to choose from. read more

Soooo pleasantly surprised by the awesome experience I had here! I had not been to the eye doctor for two years which, being a contact lens wearer, is very dumb, but life's been busy and I had stocked up on lenses and I kept putting it off. My last experience at a local Naperville eye clinic left me unimpressed - I felt like I was getting the hard sell on a lot of stuff and that's weird. My husband hadn't been to an eye doctor in AGES so I made appointments for him and myself here - I figured even if it sucked, something was better than nothing. The appointment making process was awesome in that I could do everything online and received text reminders for my appointment. When we got there, a very friendly front desk attendant helped us get our insurance settled and fill out paperwork - I feel like the guy needed about 6 more hands to get everything done, but he managed a TON of customers gracefully all while making sure everyone was on schedule and staying organized. Impressive. Dr. Reyes is a young, thorough, lovely personality who is conscientious without being judgmental and has a fantastic "bedside manner." My eye pressure was a little wonky and she took me very seriously when I told her this has always been an issue, I don't have glaucoma, I just have thick corneas (I don't know what that means but that's what they tell me). Whereas most doctors have a "yeah ok sure thanks for the medical tip" vibe to them, she listened, did an additional test, advised me I was right, and I was on my way. I really appreciated that. I will totally come back here again to see Dr. Reyes and the very competent front desk staff. I'm glad I didn't let my usual judgey-wudgey-ness get in the way of going to a - gasp - storefront optical center, because I would have missed out on a great eye care experience. read more

PURE IDIOTS You would think you can't go wrong going to a place to fill your contact prescription...well if you believe that you haven't been to target optical in Warrenville. Hmmmmm lets see 1st time they filled with a completely wrong prescription and then didn't want to reimburse me for my money back when I returned them. Then I had a moronic appointment with the eye doctor who was doing my appointment and running the store on his own because his receptionist was a no show. I really didn't mind that so much seems like he actually knew something rather than the rest of the idiots who work there and just look at you with the deer in the head lights look babbling the word DAUH every other word. Oh and my favorite was this week when I finally go to pick up the correct contacts they couldn't find them for an hour told me to go shop while they looked for them and then didn't give me half of my order so I am stuck with only contacts for my right eye...oh yeah that works. Oh and did we mention they do Lasik? I wouldn't let them touch my eyeballs for a million dollars. I could go on and on about this store but lets leave it at this you get what you pay for so if you are looking for a cheap store with lots of headaches and moron people who are so bad their dauh act is about as entertaining as watching grass grow....well then you become their new customer cause I am leaving. read more

I have yet to find a decent place to have an eye exam and order glasses and/or contacts. I thought Target would be an end to that. If I only based my review on the first visit, I would have given them 4 stars. But after I received my glasses and wore them for a couple days, I had to return. I was having problems with my vision due to the prescription lenses. Apparently, my eyes cannot adjust to certain types of lenses. So I go back and had the doctor re-examinated my eyes. He said the prescription was fine and that I needed about three weeks to have my eyes adjust to the new glasses. I told him I would rather switch to lenses to something I could see with. Well, the friendly doctor copped an attitude when I was at the register by basically saying I was refusing to give time to have my vision adjust to the glasses. I've been wearing glasses all my life and that thought of "having to adjust" for three weeks is ridiculous. I needed to be able to see for work and to drive. Wearing glasses that blurred my vision was not an option. Just that alone makes me never want to return, couple that with the fact when I did get my frames back, they took my nice glasses case that came with the new frames and replaced it with a beat up Target generic case. Worst experience yet with an eye doctor. I came in for an eye exam and mentioned to the doctor I wear colored contacts sporadically. She completely forgot to examine me for that or write it in my chart. So when I came back to order colored contacts right away the manager Mandy told me I can't order colored contacts without doctors consent. Well luckily the doctor was there and able to have me try on a few different brands real briefly. That very same night I ended up with a horrible pain in my eye, which happened to be the eye I was trying on contacts with. It kept getting worse and worse so I went back the next day and the doctor wasn't there. So I had to leave work and see an immediate care doctor how bad the pain got. The immediate care doctor did my exam and explained to me I have a corneal abrasion which can occur when doctors have you try on multiple different brands of contacts right away! He gave me a cream and told me to follow up with my regular eye doctor. WHICH I DID! AND GUESS WHAT SHE WOULDN'T SEE ME WITHOUT PAYING ANOTHER 70$!! I returned to pick up my new contacts I ordered from her and asked her to follow up to make sure the fit was good. She wouldn't bother to see me. Which is a huge law suit for her because for all she knows I could of had an allergic reaction to the contacts she prescribed me without allowing me to take home a trial pair. I spent 100$ on a box of contacts for this weekend because it's my birthday. And now I can't even wear them. This doctor has no idea what she's doing and the manger Mandy was awfully rude. I told her what the immediate care doctor prescribed me and she laughed as if it was funny on how wrong the cream was he prescribed me. Well Mandy why not suggest a patient a better option rather than laugh? I work in medical field and if I were to treat a patient how this office does I wouldn't have a job. It's sad how much money I've already invested in this office and will not be returning. If it wasn't for how pleasant my first visit was with Shaun I believe her name is I would of not returned. The manager Mandy let me, a loyal paying customer walk off with a copy of my prescription. I asked her if I could wear the contacts I just picked up and she said "NO". So now I'm left with an eye that is causing me a great amount of pain and contacts that can't be worn. Safe to say I will never come back here again! I Oh and I almost forgot the most important part. The doctor did tell me to go to a clinic in Wheaton. In which I couldn't be seen because she didn't write a referral for me to go there. They said that I could not be seen without a referral. You would think she would have the knowledge to do so. So I called the office back to see if I could get a referral and nobody would answer the phone. I had an excellent experience with Dr Reyes. She is professional, personable and efficient. I admit I wasn't sure if going to Target vs a private practice was the right choice but based on so many positive reviews, I decided to give it a shot. I am glad I did. She knows her stuff! Terrible. Dr Amber Dawson has since left Target, but did my exam in March. When I called to refill my contacts, as I had explained to her, she faxed me (from her new office) some "notes" that said she didn't take my contact Rx so I would have to go back. She claims whatever she gave me was a "trial." ? What? What a scam - now she can try to charge for a second visit. Needless to say, I won't be visiting that Dr. no matter what office she is working through. She also now claims (almost a year later) that I owe her $60 because my insurance back in March denied the visit. Odd, she doesn't work for that company anymore but expects me to pay some new bill now that I asked her for a prescription? I'm calling baloney on this. read more

I have been to numerous optometrists in the past 5-10 years, and Dr. Reyes has definitely been the best. She seems to truly care for her patients, taking her time to ask questions about my current prescription and eyes in order to understand what new prescription would be the best fit for my eyes. Though the office seems to be always bustling, the wait was not long. The last doctor I went to was not busy at all, but I had to wait an hour because he was late himself! I have been here for 2 years and (finally) don't plan on looking for a new optometrist any time soon! read more

I am so disgusted with this place. I made an impulsive decision to stop in here and check to see if they honored my vision insurance. They said they did and I made an appt. for 3 weeks later since I was going out of town. On the day of the appt. I get a call 5 minutes before I am scheduled and they tell me as I am in the parking lot that they ran my insurance and they are no longer an in-network provider for Davis Vision. They tell me I can cancel or keep the appt. and just submit it as out of network. I decided to keep the appt. and pay all the costs for the exam and the new contacts and glasses. While I was looking for frames, the assistant hounded me and actually snapped a pair of new frames in half. She could not have been more annoying. I pick out some nice frames and they tell me I need progressive lenses so I spend $500 upfront and they say the glasses are expected on 10/21. I stopped in twice after 10/21 looking for my glasses and they always say they will call me. Today, 11/4, I called and left another message and I get a call that afternoon that they are in. I went to pick them up and the case they give me looks beat to hell. I'm wondering where my $500 glasses have been during the time I was waiting for them. Also, after spending a half an hour on the phone with Davis I should note that I don't have out of network coverage, so all that crap they gave me about getting reimbursed for any of my exam and lenses was a LIE. I am not ordering any more contacts through them and I will never go back to this place. Dr. Amber was OK, and I may go to her again if she switches over to For Eyes, but I will never go to this Target Optical and deal with these other assistants again. read more

Ugggg, my husband and I went here for exams and glasses...$500 later we have new glasses and had to take mine back the first week I got them becasue a piece fell off the side. The reply of the woman at the desk was well did you get the warrenty? I said no but I did not pay $250 for glasses a week ago that have already fallen apart. I get my new glasses and the lenses are horrible. I will need to get a new pair soon. Service is horrible the doctor was good but that was 10 min of the whole ordeal. Selection was not that hot either. GO somewhere else...please do not let my overpayment on a crappy product be for nothing...save yourself! read more

Dr. Amber Dawson is very professional and efficient. I have eyes that are difficult to fit for contact lenses. She goes the extra mile, with as many visits it takes, to get the fit of my lenses correct. I lost a lens just a few days before I was leaving on a driving trip to FL with my kids. After she examined me she called the vendor directly while I was sitting there to have them overnight the new lenses. I was thankful I didn't have to be driving to FL with my eyeglasses. I was a little worried about going to Target for my eye exam but it's one of the best things I have done. It's hard to find a great doctor and staff willing to be honest and upfront but fun and helpful. This is my second year at the location and my sister and I will continuously go back. I bought a year of contacts and a new pair of glasses from clearance for $89.00. I wasn't going to buy glasses because I thought they would cost an arm and a leg, but MaKenzie was able to figure out the least expensive way for me to afford everything. She went through everything with me to make sure I understood what I was getting. When it came time to pick out glasses she let me look around but also had suggestions and I ended up choosing one of her suggestions. Another man, who had an accent also helped us narrow down our picks. It was a fun environment. I never felt pressured. They also had my insurance ready for me so I didn't have to worry a bit about that (although after reading another review on here, I would remind people that it isn't their job to know every insurance out there- call your insurance when in doubt! I work in the medical field too...). We picked a frame that wasn't something I would have picked right away but she reminded me that we have 90 days to return it or exchange it if I wanted which I thought was awesome. So if you don't know what you got, or you don't like how much you paid for it, then return it. Complaining on yelp won't solve the issue. My sister was a great example of that. She needed a progressive and picked a smaller frame. She had warned her that it was smaller and she may not adjust to it due to the size but if we had problems please come back in. MaKenzie worked with us again and didn't make her feel bad at all for exchanging (we weren't charged a dime) and having them redo them in a slightly larger frame. She said we didn't know if it would work till we tried. Such a good attitude. Was refreshing to come to a place that the staff was clearly having fun and enjoyed helping us! I was also impressed at how the staff remembered us when we came back in to pick up glasses. They encouraged us to stop in for adjustments next time we were in! Great location! Great Doctor!
