Awesome eye doctors - Dr. Robert and Dr. Bauer are fantastic. Great, empathetic, and personalized…read morecare from them every single visit. My family of 4 followed Dr. Robert here when he started his practice about 12 years ago and we love the eye doctors at Midwest eye. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the Optical Department. Very disappointing. I happened to be in the area and arrived right after they opened one morning, not one customer in Optical or in the waiting area. Asked for a 2-3 minute adjustment to my frames that had been purchased there. Overheard front desk asking Lisa in Optical and she said no, I'm busy, she needs to make an appointment. She didn't walk 15 feet to come over to see what I needed or speak to me herself. I had even said I had no problem waiting if she was busy. They just told me to make an appointment and come back another day. No thanks. I'm not going to take time out of my workday and drive 20 minutes each way to come back for something that should take 2 to 3 minutes. This massive lack of customer service is not on brand for the treatment that we receive from Dr. Robert or Bauer and was highly disappointing. Midwest Eye Optical will not be seeing another dime of my hard-earned money. If we didn't love the eye doctors so much I'd be finding a new one for all 4 of my family members. Loyalty & respect go both ways. It's not hard to treat people well. This interaction was not it.

Pearle Vision - The temple is lifted off the table and is not In alignment with the other side. Continuous adjustments are in vain.

I would give them zero stars if I could. This store is great IF Nothing goes wrong and you expect…read morethem to stand by their product. I've been a repeat customer of Pearle Vision in Woodridge, IL--purchasing three pairs of frames and lenses and spending over $2,000. But when I raised concerns about the poor quality of the so-called 'Tiffany'--more accurately, #Fiffany--frames, the store showed its true colors: deflection, excuses, and zero accountability. I bought the frames and lenses for $692, and just three months later, the frames became bowed and unwearable. I returned to the store multiple times for adjustments, but the problem kept coming back. When I asked for a refund or replacement, Boris told me, "What do you expect? They're plastic." That's outrageous for a luxury-branded product. Michelle, the store manager who claims to offer "excellent customer service," made baseless accusations during a call with the Attorney General--blaming me for damaging the glasses by "blow-drying my hair or lying down with them on". Her real concern? She wouldn't get reimbursed by Luxottica, the warranty provider, so she refused to replace the frames. Instead, I was told to deal with Luxottica directly. Luxottica took seven weeks to return the glasses--still defective--and then suggested I take them to LensCrafters for an adjustment. Not Pearle Vision. What does that tell you? Even after involving the BBB and the Attorney General's Office, Michelle continued blaming Luxottica. She offered to replace the lenses--though they were never the issue--because it wouldn't cost her anything. When asked directly if Pearle Vision would provide a refund, she said, "Why would we be responsible?" and flatly refused. Another so-called solution from Michelle is for me to return for endless adjustments--as if my time has no value ( In the words of, Kimberly "Sweet Brown" Wilkins ) "Aint nobody got time for that!" She clings to the fact that it's been 16 months since purchase, but my complaints began just three months in. As a fair consumer, I gave them 13 months to make this right. It seems they were just hoping I'd give up. Pearle Vision at Woodridge is a wolf in sheep's clothing--pretending to offer premium products and service, but failing when it truly counts. I'm out $692 with frames that are visually attractive but totally unwearable. And when someone compliments your glasses and ask you where you bought them, you don't say "Luxottica." You say Pearle Vision--because that's who took your money. Michelle confirmed she alone made the final decision to the Attorney General, and she stood by it, regardless of how unreasonable it was. Her refusal to acknowledge the customer experience reflects a serious lack of empathy and professionalism. This experience has destroyed my trust in Pearle Vision. If you value your time, money, and dignity as a customer--take your business elsewhere. I know I will. #Tiffany & Co #Luxottica #Pearlevisionwoodridge

Held my kids' eye exams hostage for $39 a head!…read more I scheduled an appointment at this Pearl Vision for my son's kindergarten eye exam and my daughter's yearly check-up. When we arrived and began filling out new-patient forms, I was told there is a mandatory $39 "retinal scan" for all new clients, not covered by insurance. For both of my kids, that meant an extra $78. I explained that my son is 5 and my daughter is 9, both with healthy eyes and no issues or concerns. I declined the test, but the receptionist told me the doctor requires it for all new patients. She asked me to sign a form leaving the yes or no blank ," saying she could change it to "no" later if the doctor agreed. I refused to sign anything unless I could decline it up front. She came back after asking the doctor and said it was non-negotiable--we would not be seen without paying for the test, though they offered a "discount." I told them I simply needed my son's school form completed, and I couldn't justify an uncovered fee for a test that was unnecessary. They suggested rescheduling, but I chose to cancel altogether. I immediately called another Pearl Vision location and was told they do NOT require this scan--it's optional, just like I expected. This practice felt like a money grab, forcing families into a $39 per-person test whether medically needed or not. If there were actual health concerns, I'd understand, but making it mandatory for healthy children is unreasonable. I would recommend avoiding this location and going to another Pearl Vision or clinic that respects patient choice.

I am truly baffled by my experience here today that I am sitting in the parking lot writing this…read morereview and I NEVER write reviews. This location had abosolutley ZERO customer service. Firstly, I walk in and no one greets or approaches me. Ok whatever NBD. So then, I approach the front desk to pick up an online order and the manager at the cash register, Sheri, seems rather taken aback by my presence. Asks what I need, tell her my name for a pick up order. She proceeds to collect my order and hand it to me, which at that point, not sure if she just expected me to leave without recieving a fitting check and cleaning, because she seemed like that was the end of the interaction?!! I proceed to ask her if they do not check fittings and measurements for new glasses purchased and she says "Well you have to tell me if you can see out of them." Like what?? Everytime I have purchased glasses from ANYWHERE, whether an online order pickup OR instore, the sales associate sits me down with my order, measures the glasses with some kind of instrument to ensure they fit correctly, cleans them, tightens them, etc. The fact I wasnt even offered that is crazy. Especially considering this was the MANAGER who was helping me. To add- I also brought in a pair purchased online that was delivered to me yesterday to recieve a proper fitting. Anyways, I put both of my glasses on, she says they look centered, she tightens them both for me, I ask if they have cleaning products, purchase them, and leave, feeling super taken aback by the utter lack of customer service. Why was I doing all of the asking and taking regarding my glasses purchases?! She just seemed totally indifferent to my presence, purchase, and the need for a proper fitting and adjustment to ensure my glasses fit correctly- because I recieved none of that service. Suffice it to say, this interaction left such a sour taste in my mouth. I will definitley not be back here nor give LensCrafters my business again. Im debating returning both pairs ordered and taking my business elsewhere. Recieving this customer service after spending almost $2,000 on two pairs of glasses is insane. LensCrafters - do better customer service training and make sure your managers dont act like their customers are an inconvience when they come in to recieve their glasses ordered. But yeah, will not give this location nor company my business again.

VISION QUEST…read more Optometry visits can result in eye-popping expenses, but at least this Bolingbrook LensCrafters treats you nicely. I'm grateful to be blessed with a number of things in life; decent eyesight, unfortunately, is not one of them, and so I rely on corrective lenses to see stuff properly. Many years ago I was a customer at a crappy PearlVision before moving (and upgrading) to a LensCrafters in River Forest. Relocating to B-brook, I found this eye care center conveniently inside the Promenade, right off of Boughton. Scheduling an appointment was easy breezy, and they called me a day prior to confirm. I showed up at the designated time and was greeted right away. Kasey was very sweet, she handled the first part of the eye exam ("see that red balloon in the distance?") before an older gentleman took over the more involved bits (including the tonometry test, a.k.a. tiny puffs that startle the bejeezus out of you). Joan assisted me with the financials, and aside from a slow computer at checkout, everything went smoothly. EyeMed insurance picked up $130 from the contacts and $59 from the vision exam/evaluation, not too bad. Contacts were delivered to the house less than a week after my appointment, and the temporary 1-day lenses they gave me in the interim were great. I find it hilarious that my previous LensCrafters in River Forest was listed on Yelp as '$$$$' -- the highest level -- indicating an upscale or "splurge-like" experience. I'll admit that LC isn't cheap, but it's far from outrageous and certainly not the uber-expensive place others have made it out to be. This location is marked as '$$', right on the money. * TL;DR * Start to finish, I was here for just over an hour with a nominal amount of waiting. I had good conversations with the staff, everyone was professional and polite. Last week, I ran into some problems with one of my Acuvue Oasys contact lenses, but it turned out to be an isolated issue (strangely enough, I never in my life encountered a defect with contacts before this). I'd planned on closing this one out with a joke about having "renewed 2020 vision", though that implies I have the gift of foresight and I seriously doubt ANYONE, soothsayer or not, could have predicted this totally f*cked-up calendar year. I'm just waiting for the Election Day asteroid to hit and render all of this moot.
