Hi, I'm Caleb Stewart. I originally had Wavelight Optimized LASIK with Dr. Andrew E. Holzman at TLC…read moreRockville's location on August 6th, 2021. Initially, I had a great experience. Every staff member was sweet and I was confident that the surgery would go well. Unfortunately, there were a few red flags that I will list below. 1. The technicians there claimed that my prescription was stable when it wasn't and my vision quickly regressed after a year. Furthermore, I had prior dry eye disease and the technicians lied and stated that it wouldn't be an issue...now I have a severe case years out. 2. I didn't get to meet with my surgeon to discuss risk of complications, if I'm a true candidate or not etc. 3. The staff didn't explain other alternatives such as ICL and didn't give a solid recommendation on what path to take. If I was told to wait until my mid 20s I probably would've had a better outcome and less chance of regression. 4. TLC decided to change the location of the surgery from Tyson's Corner to Rockville last minute also modifying the laser as well which could have had an effect on my overall outcome. Suddenly, when I developed all these complications TLC offered little to no help in contrast to how I was assisted pre-op. I now have day-time starbursts, haloes and severe dry eye which induces irregular astigmatism...causing awful ghosting that can only be possibly fixed through scleral lenses or extensive dry eye treatment. I've had to quit many of my hobbies and it made my quality of life way worse for a while. They only offered "enhancement" surgeries to improve my vision which are not FDA approved and make complications worse for many patients. I'm still not comfortable with my vision at 23, a little over two years out and feel like I got scammed and betrayed by the center. They also didn't give me a refund as well despite my efforts to be polite and courteous about the situation. What makes the situation worse is that I had to go out of my way to see my original surgeon since he opened up his own company just to see what occurred. I was given pupil-shrinking drops and was shrugged off and told that everything was in my head, it was very disheartening. I've had to take so much initiative seeing all kinds of specialists just to get help, it's very draining for a young man to go through and I'm thoroughly disappointed with my experience here. I'll attach some photos below of my prescription before and after and various photos of symptoms that I suffer with to this day. This surgery has ruined my early 20s due to the complications that I face daily. I'm stuck with poor vision that does not hold a candle to how it was before surgery and I am stuck with fluctuating ghosting vision. The center asked that I provide a $200 payment to sign up for a "lifetime plan" to get a second surgery which is not FDA approved. They are a joke. The center only has one line of communication (patient care manager team) and have no ounce of empathy and compassion in their bodies whatsoever. If you develop complications and issues, expect to be on your own and not get any assistance at all from TLC. Whenever I would reach out for genuine help and the ability to obtain a refund or at least some compensation they couldn't do anything. It's hilarious because whenever I mention making a payment towards my surgery they are enthusiastic and respond quickly but other than that, crickets. Please do not get refractive surgery if it's not needed, my life is now ruined thanks to these people. I can't enjoy my hobbies 100% like I used to or start to drive. My vision is like this day in day out 24/7 to give you an idea - https://imgur.com/a/gZnTHj8 https://imgur.com/a/2swivr9 I'll be posting pictures below of how my vision was and my general interactions with both Dr. Holzman, his company and TLC.

I could not say enough about how awesome LasikPlus is. Dr. Horn and all the staff here are…read moreunbelievable in the best way possible. I have a lot to say so bare with me. I originally tried to go to 'Chicago Cornea Consultants' because that is where my eye doctor tried to send me. When I went to my consultation I was very grossed out by their facility and found out the only reason my eye doctor sent me there was because he had a deal with them and received money for each person he sent there. I called my insurance company after the consultation (which I should have done at the beginning of this process) and found out I could get a discount through them if I went to LasikPlus. My insurance company (Blue Cross Blue Shield - HMO) made my free consultation appointment with LasikPlus on my behalf which made me feel safe and secure. Right when I walked into the LasikPlus facility in Schaumburg, I felt so welcome and at ease. Getting lasik is a nerve-racking experience and the staff at LasikPlus is next level. Everyone I talked to was kind and open to answering any questions I had (trust me, I had a lot). During my consultation they determined I was a perfect candidate. Not sure if this made a difference, but at the beginning of this process I did not wear my contacts for almost 3 weeks before my consultation and never again after that (I ran out of contacts but this was a suggestion from my eye doctor). After determining I was a good candidate, they told me if I scheduled my surgery ASAP I would get an additional discount due to scheduling early. I said HELL YES, and had my surgery the next week. The day of the surgery was pretty crazy. There was a snow storm (I got it done on January 23rd). Something crazy happened and a man who got lasik earlier that day broke the machine. This meant that no one could get their surgery on that machine for the day. Everyone who was scheduled for surgery that day in Schaumburg were sent to the Oak Brook location since that location luckily had no appointments for the day. I still had the awesome Dr. Horn do the surgery. Even with all the chaos, LasikPlus handled it flawlessly and I was home faster than I expected. They also gave a discount due to everything that happened with the change in location. My actual surgery lasted all of 10 minutes, which was wild. My brother drove me home and I fell asleep immediately. I would suggest getting your prescriptions BEFORE the surgery because we stopped at the pharmacy on the way home and it delayed me getting to sleep as soon as possible. I would recommend LasikPlus to anyone looking to get lasik. I am so happy with this investment and kind of can't shut up about it. I went to my 1-day follow up appointment THE NEXT MORNING with 20/15 vision. Unbelievable, perfect vision. FYI - I would 100% recommend anyone who deals with allergies to get the surgery done in the winter so you don't have to deal with your eyes itching while you are going through the healing process. ****IMPORTANT**** I did not drink enough water or eat enough the day I got lasik. I got dehydrated and after I took my "after surgery nap", I fainted in the bathroom putting my eyedrops in. This had NOTHING to do with LasikPlus and everything with me being on a stupid diet lol. I just want to warn anyone getting this surgery to eat that day. I was completely naive.

So I scheduled it right then and there but I was not available to get it done on 3/31 I needed to wait until 4/2. So a week before my surgery I called just to confirm that the $300.00 discount was still going to be honored and the man told me no way. Be very careful what they say there and make sure you get it in writing before leaving.

During my visit, the staff repeatedly and aggressively insisted that a $39 Digital Retinal Imaging screening was mandatory to complete my exam. However, their own official intake paperwork explicitly states right at the bottom that it is an "optional additional procedure" with a box to decline it. Forcing or pressuring patients to pay out-of-pocket fees for elective screenings by claiming they are required is incredibly dishonest. When I refused to pay the optional upcharge, they wouldn't budge, so I chose to leave. Watch your paperwork closely if you visit this place.

I would give them zero stars if I could. This store is great IF Nothing goes wrong and you expect…read morethem to stand by their product. I've been a repeat customer of Pearle Vision in Woodridge, IL--purchasing three pairs of frames and lenses and spending over $2,000. But when I raised concerns about the poor quality of the so-called 'Tiffany'--more accurately, #Fiffany--frames, the store showed its true colors: deflection, excuses, and zero accountability. I bought the frames and lenses for $692, and just three months later, the frames became bowed and unwearable. I returned to the store multiple times for adjustments, but the problem kept coming back. When I asked for a refund or replacement, Boris told me, "What do you expect? They're plastic." That's outrageous for a luxury-branded product. Michelle, the store manager who claims to offer "excellent customer service," made baseless accusations during a call with the Attorney General--blaming me for damaging the glasses by "blow-drying my hair or lying down with them on". Her real concern? She wouldn't get reimbursed by Luxottica, the warranty provider, so she refused to replace the frames. Instead, I was told to deal with Luxottica directly. Luxottica took seven weeks to return the glasses--still defective--and then suggested I take them to LensCrafters for an adjustment. Not Pearle Vision. What does that tell you? Even after involving the BBB and the Attorney General's Office, Michelle continued blaming Luxottica. She offered to replace the lenses--though they were never the issue--because it wouldn't cost her anything. When asked directly if Pearle Vision would provide a refund, she said, "Why would we be responsible?" and flatly refused. Another so-called solution from Michelle is for me to return for endless adjustments--as if my time has no value ( In the words of, Kimberly "Sweet Brown" Wilkins ) "Aint nobody got time for that!" She clings to the fact that it's been 16 months since purchase, but my complaints began just three months in. As a fair consumer, I gave them 13 months to make this right. It seems they were just hoping I'd give up. Pearle Vision at Woodridge is a wolf in sheep's clothing--pretending to offer premium products and service, but failing when it truly counts. I'm out $692 with frames that are visually attractive but totally unwearable. And when someone compliments your glasses and ask you where you bought them, you don't say "Luxottica." You say Pearle Vision--because that's who took your money. Michelle confirmed she alone made the final decision to the Attorney General, and she stood by it, regardless of how unreasonable it was. Her refusal to acknowledge the customer experience reflects a serious lack of empathy and professionalism. This experience has destroyed my trust in Pearle Vision. If you value your time, money, and dignity as a customer--take your business elsewhere. I know I will. #Tiffany & Co #Luxottica #Pearlevisionwoodridge
