For Eyes has been my trusted source of all things vision since 1999. I've seen optometrists there over the years and was always happy with the great fittings I got for mono-vision contact lenses and glasses. And the employees always impressed me with their professionalism and kindness. Today, I went to For Eyes hoping that someone could adjust glasses frames that were damaged when my 94 year old neighbor's head hit the pavement when she fell. A wonderful staff member, Kahleea, immediately greeted me and asked how she could help.I explained what happened and she was very sympathetic. I could see that she wanted to be helpful. I was recommended to this place by a coworker, and she had great things to say about her experience. I called, and the person who answered my call was able to tell me if they accept my insurance and all that fun stuff. (I'm sorry I never got your name!) I come in at my appointment time, and I'm greeted by 2 friendly employees! They made me feel welcome and had warm personalities. I came in on a Wednesday, and the optometrist attending to me was friendly and knowledgeable. Got some things checked out and then was led to the selection of glasses. I have insurance and she made sure to contact them to get their approval and authorization of payment, even though it took a few times to do so, and needed several follow-up calls to complete the process. The good news is people are friendly, and the service is fast. The bad news is, they don't repair things. Because they could not repair my current eyeglasses I was faced with the prospect of buying an entirely new pair. I brought it to another shop that repaired it for free. Eye love optical on 3rd near western. The other disappointment I had is that when some lenses scratched to the point of not being able to be used, they were supposedly under a replacement warranty, but it still cost something like 100 bucks to replace. read more

Hi. Updating my review. Have been a patient here and supported this business for over 5 years and even wrote a nice review last time. Came in here today because last time I ordered a 6 month supply of contacts I came in told them they supplied a bad batch of contacts that kept making my eyes hurt and instead of lasting 2 weeks they would last one week if even. So I ran out of contacts early. Today I came in because I literally have one contact in one eye and asked for a free trial pair which I know they have because they would always do this for me in the past if I ran out early and the brunette girl at the front was SUPEr rude and told me she could give me a trial pair unless I order a new batch. She didn't even ask me my name or look up my account. I told her I would not do that until I met with the doctor because something is wrong with the last contacts and I need them to put in a different prescription. The woman was so rude and I told her I would never ever ever come back and will find a new eye doctor who appreciates me and isn't CHEAP! read more

Paris and Melissa were really helpful in setting up my husband and me with prescription Ray-Ban meta-glasses. My eye exam with the doctor was quick, yet thorough. The glasses were slightly delayed, not due to their fault but because they had to send them out to Ray-Ban. However, the team made up for it. By FAR the worst experience I've ever had at any eye store. First off --when I called to find out the cost of an eye exam I'm told $75. Ok fine. I book an appointment. I get there today and as she's ushering my in she tells me (railroads me ie: NOT giving a choice) that the exam was $114. I push back telling her what I was quoted. She gets short and tells me "that's the basic exam." but not offering at that point to change it until I tell her. "Well, $75. is what I am willing to pay." Next up the exam. Went great. Dr. was awesome! Time to pay... they spped through the transaction, adding UV protection and anti-scratch, present me with a $250 bill. I say take off the UV and anti-scratch. They present me with a $200. bill --never mentioning the Dr.'s bill was separate. After paying the $200. they present me with the $75. Dr. bill. I balk. I ask to refund the lenses I can find them online WAY-WAY cheaper. The manager curtly pushes back saying "they won't do the progressives right." I tell her I'm on a fixed income and just can't afford ridiculous prices and she then scoffs as if I'm some worthless pitiful person and abruptly walks away. I'm like. "Oh ok, I guess the conversation is over." Bottom line: They don't give a rat about the consumer --what they're aiming for is the most upsales and the highest cost they can soak the consumer with. Pushing options on you not letting you know you have a CHOICE. On fear of losing the sale they somehow suddenly, magically able to reduce the cost to $140. Ironically... For being a place of vision and re: their human interaction, NOT ONE of them were able to make eye contact much less look me in the eye as they were speaking. Nothing flags disrespect, moreover "scammers" LOUDER than when someone can't even look at you when conversing. I'm done. I've used them twice previous. NEVER EVER again. can't wait to see how the lenses come out. LOL. Wait till you see my update. Quoted $40. cost for tint that takes a couple minutes --ridiculous. read more

My wife and I had a great experience with the helpful and friendly staff. Dr. Trinh Pham was extremely knowledgeable and spent an extra amount of time with us during the examination. I noticed in other reviews - the one star ones - that it all seems to start at the front with one particular woman. In thee same location. It is a relief to discover it was NOT my imagination in terms of her demeanor. I also noticed that some person in position of higher authority has answered some of the one star comments. The complaints seem to be much the same as the ones I experienced. I will simply add this...you have one pair of eyes. Professional care is how to keep them healthy and working.. Selling frames and coatings and add-ons should be the last part of the job. Eye exams are a medical procedure. Corrective lenses are a medical prescription. Highly trained employees should use this as criteria for their treatment of clients. Anyone can sell frames and coatings. Those are what sales people are for. I would suggest For Eyes make sure they keep their medical obligations confined to trained professionals and the sales staff to the front. read more

BEWARE: I was charged an extra $50 for "One Year Protection Plan" on two pairs of glasses WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE OR CONSENT. It wasn't until I got home and read the invoice that I saw I had been charged. This is the first and last time I go there. I will ask for a refund. Any reputable place would ask a customer if they wanted the insurance, before charging them which I would have said a bit "NO". I don't need it. I suspect when I ask for a refund, they will insist they told me. Practices such as this should be against the law. read more

I had a most sudden need to have a quick repair to my sun glasses on a very sunny day. One of the small nose protector shields broke off and fell away, while leaving a deep red/raw impression on the side of my nose. Shortly thereafter, while I was stopped at a red light, I saw For Eyes right across the street from me. I quickly found a parking space and ran into the store, hoping it had not yet closed because it was already 5:20. Well, they were not closed! And Melissa was there and so wonderfully accomodating. She quickly took the glasses from me and I had the opportunity to browse and try on some new styles, making plans for my next pair of glasses. In a very brief time, Melissa had finished replacing the nose protector and returned my glasses. I asked how much I owed her....and she said "no cost!" She was so lovely and so kind and so fast and so capable. What had concerned me about possibly having to replace the glasses entirely turned into a really nice experience because I was dealing with someone who knew exactly what she was doing and had most gracious attitude. I have bought other glasses there in the past but this was the first time I met Melissa. I am going to be sure to only work with her in the future. It was great to be back at For Eyes. read more

I had high hopes for this place because the eye exam was affordable and it was close to work. This is how many times I visited to get new glasses: 1. First exam visit took longer than expected, so I didn't have time to pick out glasses. 2. Came back to pick out glasses, ordered them. 3. A couple weeks later I pick them up and the lenses are so warped I'm unable to walk confidently or do anything without feeling dizzy, so... 4. I come back to get an "upgraded" lens change for free, but they still feel wrong - they tell me to wear them for a couple of weeks to "adjust" 5. A couple weeks later I call to see if they can redo my prescription - I ask, do I need an appointment? Lady on the phone said no, just come on in. So I come back for a 5th time and say these glasses aren't right, I don't feel safe wearing them, and guess what. I need an appointment. 6. I come back for said appointment, and long story short, ended up returning the glasses because they responded in a way that made me feel like I was making it up?? Six visits and still no glasses. Absolutely ridiculous. Not only did they talk down to me, but they insisted that nothing was wrong with the lenses. I've never felt so belittled by a doctor before. I've been wearing glasses for 26 years, contacts for 15. I've never had to "adjust" to dizziness and disorientation. Maybe they should consider having a point salesperson for someone who has issues with their product so that the customer doesn't have to explain their problem a dozen of times to five different people and waste so much time. I will never go back. Sidenote: After this whole ordeal, I ordered a $30 pair of glasses online in like 10 minutes, had them in a few days, and I finally have glasses I can see out of. Staff was very kind and helpful, exam went flawlessly, all things were great! However, I called ahead to make sure my insurance would be accepted before making the appointment. They said they 'accepted' VSP insurance, which I found extremely misleading considering they are not an in-network provider for VSP, which means they are unable to estimate the cost after insurance and it's all guesswork. If you want to know what you're paying for before you pay for it and you're not willing to roll the dice on how much insurance will cover, make sure you specifically ask them in-network versus "accepted but out of network for you to deal with one on one with your insurance company later and hope for a decent rebate". I would have not followed through with the appointment and would have gone somewhere else if they had been more forthcoming about their insurance network. Really felt like they said whatever needed saying to get me in for the exam. Didn't find out any of this til I'd spent almost two hours there doing my exam + shopping for frames, and had to rush to a different location during rush hour since it was the friday afternoon before the long labor day weekend. Really didn't feel like my time was respected, and like I was tricked into giving them my business. read more

I've been going here for eye exams over the past five years and everyone in the office is ON IT!! Very nice, knowledgeable and helpful. Edwin has hooked me up several times with sunglasses adjustments, ones I bought elsewhere by the way, free of charge and has even gone so far as to come out the back parking lot with my prescription while I waited in my car on two different occasions when I was pinched out on time. The prices are competitive as well. I know this because I had also been to lens crafters down the street about 6 years ago. Dr. Dueñes a gem! Extremely nice and knowledgeable. I had a concern regarding the health of my eyes and he gave me a great referral and put all of my worries at ease. However, I am giving For Eyes 1 star because the customer service sucks!! Customer service should excel at all times for customers and for this reason I will not recommend or return here for an exam ever. I ripped a contact and figured I stopped by for a trail pair so I could see since I had a very long day ahead of me and I did not have my glasses. I was told I could not receive a trail pair unless I was placing an order for contacts with them or receiving an exam. WTF!!? I have received trail pairs from past optometrists of mine, as well as random ones as long as my prescription is not expired. Wonky things happen! And not being able to receive a trail pair while in need has made For Eyes lose a customer in me. read more
