Sometimes they make me happy, and sometimes they make me a little sad--but overall, they keep me coming back. The rasta pasta is really good and not spicy. It becomes perfectly creamy once you mix in the sauce from the bottom. I also love that you can choose just oxtail, just curry chicken, or whatever you're in the mood for--it definitely helps with my indecisiveness. Their desserts are great too; I just wish they'd have my cravings in stock when those cravings hit. But one thing I can always count on is freshness. Everything I order is consistently delicious.

I'll start by saying food here is never bad and the drinks are always strong when i've been. This time around I had jerk chicken rasta pasta the chicken had good spice and the pasta was good. Service was also relatively quick. In terms of ambiance, I understand they've been here for years I do think they could use with an update to tables and seating arrangements.

I ordered an oxtail roti and its by far the nastiest roti I have ever had in my life. It's packed with grease oozing out of every place you can imagine. I'm so disappointed in Footprints With this one.

On 8/01/2025 I ordered Oxtail Rasta Pasta & Codfish cakes. The cod fish cakes weren't cooked completely also the oxtails weren't cooked down they were tough. Also the amount of oil in the platter was crazy smh not to mention the food got me sick I was throwing up 15 minutes after eating it. Never eating from this location again.

I drive all the way from Staten Island to get there food when I'm missing home. The oxtail flatbread is my favorite. The Caribbean soups are good as well! My son loves the Mac and cheese. We always stop by when we are in Brooklyn. Staff are friendly.

Footprints always has good food. The service is just very poor. Had to flag down the waiter. They always have an attitude too.

I always forget to review my regular spots . I dont work far from here so about once a week we grab lunch here . The drinks are always good - be careful because you can definitely get alittle too tipsy here to return to work if you're not . The food is up and down . Some days it's absolutely delicious , others is simply your local caribbean restaurant. We're familiar faces so the service is always nice but in the beginning they were not as nice . I think its a New York caribbean thing to be rude . Anyway this day I decided to order the curry goat , I wanted to be exotic so I ordered rice and peas instead of white rice. Luckily it was a good day . The goat was tender and yummy ! If you've never been here , you must be living under a rock lol . They are known for their rasta pasta . I usually get the escovitch fish tenders with extra onions and carrots along with whatever else my stomach can hold lol . The food is good enough to visit weekly . Just not consistent . Here are a few pics

Drink Name: "Lay on me" for $15. This drink was so good. I recommend.

Food is amazing here and the drinks are too. This is my favorite location. Today (Sunday) it was pretty empty. So the service was fast and very quiet inside.

01/20/23: Due to issues at initial restaurant we ended up at footprints. It's been a minute since I've been physically. Upon arrival very busy, greeted warmly by the hostess, but we spotted a booth in the back and bingo we were seated. Our server came over introduced herself and we were ready to order. Drinks: rum punch.. it's not as red as it used to be it tastes a bit different but it was still yummy. You definitely tasted the Wray n Nephew. Appetizers Cod fish cakes: although yummy it was like 95% dough and a hint of salt fish Escovich wings: we were curious as escovich is synonymous with fish. But it was ok. Wings were good but it was basically the carrots and onions and peppers on atop the wings Mains Rasta Pasta with oxtail. I was hungry so I wasn't going to deviate from my norm. As usual pasta on point and oxtail was good it felt like it could be cooked a bit more not the fall off the bone I'm used to. Also ordered a side of bammy..steamed. It was ok, in the past it was amazing and I felt I had more than 3 pieces. We wanted the cheesecake for dessert but they were out. As they are having their weekend special for their 22 year anniversary two Rasta pasta dishes for $22 we took a set to go. All in all great dinner had by all. Their portions as large so 2 of us ended up with leftovers for home. Another good footprints meal. My friends ordered the Rasta pasta with king fish and shrimp and Cajun chicken n shrimp with rice and peas. All enjoyed meal.

It's a vegetarian restaurant with so many yummy options it's so hard to choose. The first time I went I had some spinach rice, callaloo, pumpkin, & soy chunks. Everything was so good. The second time I went I had vegetable fried rice, callaloo, cabbage & kale with a lentil patty. The lentil patty was flaky, crusty goodness. I wish I could bring this place back to AZ with me because we really need some real West Indian restaurants there Since it's so close to the house I'm probably going to just eat here every day until I leave

Price was nice and portion was good and filling. I'll be back. It's a takeout spot and no sitting are From small to large and pricing depends on how many sides you add to the plate, from 3 to 5 to 7. I had the eggplant, curry Chana, pumpkin, rice and peas and collard greens. All well cooked and well seasoned! Depending on what you want to eat, I recommend everything I just listed and they had more sides, from okra to spinach rice and more. Visit to find out and give them a trial. Brooklyn has great spots! An Outstanding Uzbek Dining Experience at Samarkand Nights I…read morewent to Samarkand Nights tonight, and I have to say...it was excellent. I've eaten at many Uzbek restaurants in the NYC area, and after my longtime favorite sadly closed due to a fire, I've been on a serious quest to find the best Uzbek restaurant around. This place may very well be it. First, a special shout-out to Kamola, who was doing everything; serving tables, bussing, answering the phone, and somehow still delivering outstanding service with a great attitude. She handled the entire dining room flawlessly. No complaints whatsoever, though after this review they'll probably need to hire more staff! What We Ordered: Starters & Salads: Lagman Soup Achichuk Salad Avocado Salad Combination Dip Platter (Hummus, Baba Ganoush, Ikra, Morkovcha, Labeneh) Kebabs & Mains: Salmon Kebab Chilean Sea Bass Kebab Shrimp Kebab Chicken Kebab Chicken Lulya Beef Lulya Beef Kebab Beef Napoleon Drinks: Compote Seltzer (We paired everything with Beluga Vodka, which they happily allow you to bring...nice touch.) The Verdict: This was EXCELLENT. The salads were okay, and while the hummus and baba ganoush were decent, next time I'll order the Ikra and Morkovcha on their own, they stood out much more. Everything else, however, was outstanding! The Lulya kebabs deserve special mention, both chicken and beef were extremely juicy, literally dripping with fat, spices, and flavor. Absolutely cooked the way Lulya should be. Beef Kebab is a must have!!! Beef Napoleon was something I had never tried before: alternating thin layers of meat and fat, unbelievably flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Chilean Sea Bass Kebab was the best I've ever had, perfectly cooked and incredibly tender. Salmon Kebab was solid and well-executed. I didn't personally try the Shrimp Kebab, but two people at the table said it was excellent and beautifully seasoned with Uzbek spices. Atmosphere & Vibe What really surprised me was the atmosphere. Whether it was the food, the music, or the overall energy, it brought people together in a way you don't usually see at a restaurant. Kids from different tables started dancing with each other, it honestly felt like something you'd normally only see at a wedding. Warm, joyful, and genuinely communal. Unfortunately, they were out of Plov. We had ordered it in advance with our reservation, and they did call us ahead of time to let us know, which I appreciated. I'm very much looking forward to trying it on my next visit. Final Thoughts: Chaim, the owner, was warm, personable, and welcoming. Between the food, the service, and the atmosphere, this is hands down the best Uzbek restaurant I've eaten at. There's plenty of parking, reservations don't currently seem necessary, and I'll absolutely be back...most likely to rent out the place for a party. Highly, highly recommended.

Good thing we made a resy since it's pretty small and packed on Sunday evening for dinner. We got a bunch of stuff to share, but unfortunately some stuff was sold out... we were only able to order a half portion of plov and some of the specialty kebabs we wanted were sold out. Either way, we loved the bread. Other stand outs include the mini samsa, plov, lamb ribs kebab, potatoes with mushroom. The mixed salad appetizer was OK. Our waitress was super nice!
