I'm just gonna judge the patties that I have purchased here. I did not like how the rest of the food looked so I did not want to purchased anything else. The service was ok, I mean I wasn't greeted with an attitude so that was a plus. I decided to buy me a veggie and beef patty and my friend got a chicken and beef. I have to say, I love the flaky crust but the filling was lacking. It was barely any meat inside. My veggie patty was filled but it was lacking in flavor. Such a big disappointment. The food smell on the street brought me in. I had to see what it was. Jamaican food oooh.. so of course I got the oxtail + a small size of jerk chicken. Oxtail was tasty but too salty. She really loaded up my container.. for me it's like 3 portions. Compared to Miss Lilly's this place is sub par. The chicken was dry too. The food haven't been good, the last few times I've been there. I always get jerk chicken, rice and beans with macaroni salad. to be quite honest, I wasn't even going to leave this review had UBEREATS refunded me my money, but the fact that I contacted the store last night to let them know what I found personally and no refund was offered right then, nothing other than an apology and today I have to fight bots with pictures to get a refund is insane so let's all join in the headache. I ordered a large cow foot and wings meal last night from here; got it after a long wait but it looked so amazing; get 3 to 4 bites in to notice in the cow foot has burnt bug; literal roach cooked into the white rice, I kid you not. Tastee is my go to place to eat in the area. Food taste very nice. Just know the line always long and sometimes them take long. The patties are comparable to the ones in Jamaica. They have, veggie, chicken, beef, salmon. Took off one star for the long wait times but it deserves all the 5 stars besides that. read more

This is probably one of my new favorite place right now to get my island food fix on. I have been here a couple of times and I must say they never seem to disappoint me. From the curry chicken to the jerk pork everything is always well seasoned and taste amazing each meal comes with a side of either fried plantain, green salad, potato salad or macaroni salad. My new favorite is the salmon patty it's different but taste so good. If you're ever in the mood for good island food give tastee pattee a try the lines are usually always long but the wait is worth it. read more

This place is just awesome. I wanted to eat everything in here. I came in for a beef patty and left with more food than I needed. It's a decent place to eat, more geared towards take out but you can sure sit down. EVERYTHING I had was so delicious! I recommend the jerk chicken, Mac and cheese and plantains. They offer to put any sauce on the rice or in my case Mac and cheese so I did the goat curry, yum!!! But man, that beef patty was amazing!! The crust was so buttery and flaky. The beef was so meaty and tasted like there was bone marrow in it, simple pleasures. Next time, I'm trying the peanut punch. read more

The line was long, probably a good sign, and the service slow but polite, mostly because they take their time to ask you what you would like, like cabbage, plaintain or salad in addition to your entree. These folks are VERY Rude. They Act as if you are getting the food for free. Apparently my meal comes with two side items. Which I did not know until I heard someone order the same item. I wasn't offered to side items and was told I should have asked by the cashier. This being my 1st time here and the menu does not state so. The staff here refused to give customer service. I'm sorry to report that this WAS one of my favorite places to eat. I say was because the quality of food has gone down. The chicken dishes are overcooked, they always seem to be out of cabbage (seriously?), the goat and oxtail dishes are served with more bones than meat, and the customer service is HORRIBLE! They don't seem to know their ass from their elbow most times! And, the worse is the food counter is often filthy. When you work the line, you're trained to serve and wipe. Sad, sad, sad because this just started this summer. Not sure if it's under new management or they're just content to provide the black community with whatever they believe we'll accept. I am always looking around for great Caribbean food. I have tried many, but today I wandered in here while waiting for my daughter to come out of dance class. A lot of times when I go in at dinnertime much of the food is sold out, but here they had everything - patties, bread, plantains, and stews. My daughter is a vegetarian so I was able to get her a veggie pattie, which she loved. I got a curry chicken dinner and I have to say, this may have been the best curry chicken I've ever had. It was so fresh and flavorful, and the steamed veggies were also a step above. I will definitely go back. In fact, I can't think of any reason to ever go anywhere else in the area!
