I visited Foothill Locksmith today and was overwhelmed with the work of Lou Garza. I had my front door decorative handle set with me that had not worked in over a year. I came in yesterday with an issue that couldn't be resolved at the hardware store. I recently moved my business to another location and the building is old, with old door knobs. The door to my room has no key and from what I was told at the hardware store I would have to drill new holes, etc. I just needed a lock on my door, keep things simple. Foothill Locksmith has a wide range of services than a normal locksmith. For example, I had to get my car door locks changed and they were able to have it done in a couple of hours. I would recommend Lou, who's been doing this for 9 years, and he'll recommend the cheapest way to do a service. He was able to match my keys with the original as well. I gave it a 4 star because I liked the honest service of Lou and others, the cheap prices, and the cleanliness of the shop, but the area is near the train and bart tracks, which is a little disturbing. I had the pleasure of getting my truck broken into. I called several vendors to change the lock they broke with a screw driver, because I could not leave my vehicle unsecured. No one was available or would come out with in 24 hours. They wouldn't give me a quote or even come out to check out the damage, many said it was too late in the day. I called Lou, (What a mustache!), who said bring my truck down and he would take care of me. Not only did he have the part for a 1997 truck in stock, but also had the best price out of anyone that I called, it was very reasonable. Duplicating these special car keys is not simple -- or cheap -- these days, but Dustin understood everything about the process and answered my detailed questions about this new key technology and the two options for the keys. He made one and ordered another of the special head blanks because I wanted two copies. When the second head blank came in, he phoned me back two days later, as he had promised. I was up in the East Bay during this past Labor Day weekend, and the key for my 1973 BMW 2002tii snapped in half, leaving the car stranded at a friend's house. I just recently purchased a used Toyota that came with only one key so I ordered 2 blank key transponders off of Amazon and came here for the cut. I gave them the original and the two blank keys and in less than 5 minutes I had two duplicates. I was charged @ $6 for each key. I figured since it's was going to be $125 I could save some $ on this deal. The guy who answered was extremely helpful. He gave actual doable options to save ALOT of $.
