I work around the area and was strolling down the street to find a good lunch spot. Recently adopted a vegetarian diet, the hummus cucumber sandwich caught my eye and I decided to order it for take away. Jesus, didn't realize the potential of vegetarian sandwiches. The hummus cucumber sandwich sounded simple and uncomplicated, I wasn't expecting to be wowed. The homemade hummus made me swoon, chunky, fragrant, pronounced curry flavor. Add cucumbers, sprouts, red onions, generous smears of mustard and you have a filling, hefty and exciting vegetarian sandwich. Place was poppin during lunch hours on a random Tuesday so I can only imagine what the place is like during weekend brunch hours. The guys who took my order were incredibly patient and nice. Couldn't hear a damn thing over the chatter and music, asked them to repeat their questions 239483 times. I will definitely be back to try out their tofu scramble and crepe selections. read more

A decent breakfast. I had a breakfast burrito (vegetarian) and it was amazing! The bloody maria was also good but it lacked with the power of its pepper and the mixing of the drink. Cozy spot! Came here for brunch, before taking a trip up to the Flatirons, and I left very satisfied. I ordered the Nova Salmon (lox) Benedict, with grits. The server accidentally brought me potatoes, but gladly brought me some grits too. I got to eat both! The Hollandaise sauce wasn't super authentic, but was better then most places I've tried. My friend had the Foolish Huevos, and was super delighted. Everything tasted fresh, and full of flavor. It's really close to the Pearl shopping area, and that place in itself, is a nice spot to check out. This place also had a semi-outdoor eating area. Very cozy, well decorated, and super quick/friendly staff! It's not huge inside, and it seems like we beat the rush. I'm sure there's usually a wait here. Allergy friendly and no wait time, they work hard to be prompt even on a busy day. The breakfast was delicious and worth the price. The crepes looked amazing and the lunch orders coming out of the kitchen looked scrumptious. The apple juice was delicious and better than just juice. The coffee was a little weak but good. The art on the walls is interesting and they have homemade desserts posted at the entrance. The fruit cup was perfect and had a variety of blueberries strawberries mango melon and grapes. I had the 3egg omelette and it was almost half the plate and full and flavorful. My bf had the foolish Craig crepe and said it was great!! The salsa was very fresh and tasty. Hey have gf and vegan options and can accommodate changes well. There is some out side seating but mostly indoors between two levels and the bar. Let me just preface this review by saying that I am a breakfast person. I love to cook breakfast, but more than that I love to go out for breakfast. I go out for breakfast more than any other meal because there's something I just really enjoy about relaxing first thing in the morning while someone else does the cooking. So that being said, I've been to a lot of breakfast places in Boulder and elsewhere and I know what kind of value to expect for my dollar. For some reason earlier this fall I decided to deviate from my regular breakfast spots to try Foolish Craig's. I wasn't expecting it to be amazing, but I was expecting a decent meal. And yet, Foolish Craig's still managed to disappoint me. The waitress was friendly and helpful with my questions regarding the menu, but when my food arrived it was cold. I'm not even talking about the lukewarm effect that happens when waiters don't bring your food fast enough. I mean, portions of my crepe were refrigerator-level cold. The rest of the food looked as though it had been hastily thrown on the plate. I ate around the cold parts, hoping that despite the temperature and poor presentation the dish might redeem itself, but I found the food to be mediocre at best. The thing about my experience at Foolish Craig's is that it wasn't bad, but true to the two-star rating I gave it, I've experienced better (much better). For the $10 I spent, I could have gone to numerous other places within an easy walking distance and had a far better breakfast, or I could have just saved my money and eaten at home since I would never make myself anything as pathetic as what Foolish Craig's served me. Maybe I just had an unusual bad experience, or maybe the people who praise Foolish Craig's just don't know the kind of quality breakfast that's out there, but I will certainly not be back to find out. read more

The Duxelle Crepe was absolutely delicious, but in retrospect I think if I tried I could replicate any of the dishes they make here. The place has a laidback vibe and, as I said, the dishes are very reminiscent of a home-cooked meal. You MUST finish off your meal with one of the many dessert crepes Foolish Craig's has to offer. We had been walking by several times and kept saying I needed to stop in for breakfast before we left the city and finally got the chance. It wasn't as busy as Snooze, which was great not to have to wait in line. The portions were huge. I got the Foolish Craig crepe, which was really tasty and quite filling perfect for keeping my energy level up before hiking. How have I not written a review for this place before?!?! It's a stellar Boulder staple. The food is amazing and the prices cannot be beat. They have a bomb brunch menu and serve breakfast all day. I'm always appalled when I see people waiting two hours to get into Snooze, with this gem just a few doors down. THEY MAKE ALL THEIR OWN BREAD!! If you haven't tried the oatmeal stout bread, you haven't lived. They also specialize in crepes, and make some delicious sandwiches and salads. Go forth and give them your business! read more

I was foolish for coming here. Initially the place looked inviting and their drink menu seemed decent. I ordered some sort of vodka coffee drink and it tasted like watered down coffee with skim milk. The strawberry crepe had strawberry compote, and cream cheese filling listed but it was just strawberry cream cheese that wasn't even in the crepe at all. I was curious about the origin story of the place since the name is interesting but nobody really knew. I was sitting at the bar with 3 people working behind it and i had to ask for my check. My boyfriend and I were excited to try this place because we saw that it was on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, sadly we were extremely disappointed. My bf ordered the Chicken and Waffle entree and the so called fried chicken tenders that came with the meal was obviously just store bought frozen chicken tenders from a grocery store. My meal was okay, I ordered a crepe but my bf said he saw them put it in a microwave before serving it. We both didn't finish our meals because despite not only the food being such low quality, the kitchen did not seem clean and then waitresses helping us had gloves on and didn't change them once the whole time we sat at the bar. I'm not much of a breakfast person, I usually force down the occasional granola bar or an underwhelming bowl of oatmeal. So when a friend brought us here for a lovely Sunday brunch I wasn't too excited. I ordered the eggs, potatoes, sausage, and chocolate chip pancakes, and let me tell you, I was BLOWN AWAY. I have never eaten a meal so fast, the potatoes were a highlight, seasoned beautifully and cooked to perfection. The pancakes brought me back to quiet Sunday mornings in my childhood home. Got my grub on here after the bolder boulder. It was busy, no surprise, but they were quick. He got the benedict with smoked turkey I got a benedict with crab cakes. We enjoyed them both. Nice size helpings of turkey and crab cake. The potatoes were a little too soft for my liking. I also got a mimosa which was pretty good as well. The wait staff was on top of things and friendly. Ive always wanted to try Foolish Craigs. And In my book it didn't disappoint. Their was a 20 minute wait so we sat at the bar. FYI Snooze Next Door had an even longer wait. Friendly servers and they will make you bloody Marys with their house infused vodka, well vodka or a vodka of your preference. I ordered the Frenchie Toast that uses house made bread, and cheesy grits. I wasn't sure about the cheesy grits because I normally like them with just grits and sugar. Well the Frenchie Toast was more than delicious. It was light and airy with a little crunch to it. I could of ordered 2 orders just for me. The cheesy grits were well done to my liking, and had the thick not soupy consistency that I yearn for. I seen lots of delicious items come out from the kitchen. From Huge Crepes to Burritos to Sandwiches (the Cubano) to Huge Effing Salads. And if I had my way with the Menu. I would call it just that. Huge Effing Salads. I would retract a point because of the Douche Bag Guy Fieri ate here but the food is just that darn good. To deserve 5 points. I shall be back to further explore the tasty menu. read more

This is a fun spot nestled on east Pearl. The service here has always been fast and friendly for me, and they always have a big lunch crowd. I had the BLT featured on "Diners Drive-Thrus and Dives" and it was very good. Great bread, lots of bacon and veggies, and a side of piping hot fries. I could only eat half, though, and the lettuce was kind of wet so it was soggy when I went to have it for dinner that night. Overall, a great place! read more

I hate that I have to review this on a day when they were just swamped. They couldn't keep up with the lunch crowd today, so my experience wasn't stellar. But I would be more than willing to give it another chance. When I walked in a sat down, everyone I worked there was very nice. And everything coming out looked really good. But within a few minutes, I saw that more plates were coming out of the window than they could expedite efficiently. It took quite a while before my Lox Benedict came out, but I didn't mind. Only problem was... it got cold by the time it got to me. And I didn't even see it sit in the window, so maybe it was on a counter somewhere in the back of house? The flavors were really good, but there's no going around a cold dish when it's supposed to be hot. Like I said, I'll come back again. I really want to give them 3.5 stars, but I'll lean towards 4. We were looking for bloody's and bennies Sunday morning, and thought, why not Foolish Craig's? It's got a good rep, and it's not as stupid busy as Snooze always is. We (2 of us, arriving at 9 am) were sat almost immediately, which was nice. There was only one busser, and she was pretty busy, but the waiter was on point. He had our bloody's to us in a moment, and they have bacon bloody's which are tasty. Though I think you're better off ordering a side of bacon and a regular bloody as I'm not sure there's anything special about the bacon bloody other than a piece of bacon on the condiments stick. Anyways, I also ordered a side of bacon. We both ordered the regular ham benedict and I got a side of toast. The food arrived promptly, which was awesome because I was starving. The bennie was good, but the main reason I'm docking a star is no one ever toasts the english muffin base properly. It always ends up being a little too doughy. Also, the eggs were 3 out of 4 poached proper, one was a little over poached and not as runny as you'd like. All in all, good place, and I don't get why people wait for Snooze when there are so many other great options right nearby. read more

A dose of reality on this great Boulder eating establishment right from the get-go: Bohemian with an organic yet slightly "not-spotless clean" look and feel. Having established that: Great service, awesome, wholesome food that satisfies the savory palate! Burger was excellent, and the menu is fairly straightforward without pretensions. Good beers on tap, it is recommended by Diners Dives & Drive-Ins. Very friendly waitstaff. Twin sons both loved their food also, now that's saying something. The breakfast choices here is magnificent. The customer service is very personal and friendly in a way that makes it feel like a neighborhood diner. The seating space is also pretty good, though I advise you to plan ahead because the place can fill up. I recall the server asking my friend and I where we were from and when I mentioned I was visiting Boulder from DC, he said he was from Maryland and went to Georgetown before dropping out and moving to Boulder to live free! Goes to show just how friendly folks in this town can be when you get a conversation going. The location on Pearl Street is fantastic since it's the main pedestrian thoroughfare in Boulder, leading right into the campus. I can't recall what I had for breakfast there but I just know it was delicious. You can't go wrong and you can rest assured the ingredients are of high quality and fresh. read more

We stopped here after a long morning hike. I walked in and was pumped to see that Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives had been there. During my travels I tend to frequent the places DDD goes. The atmosphere is bright, fun and very Boulder (whatever that means). We ate at a table in the front windows where the people watching was great. The only downside to this area was the flies were buzzing the entire time we were there. It was incredibly annoying. So stay clear of the fly table in the right hand corner. Now onto the food. It was really hot out so I ordered a cold crisp greek salad. The veggies were all fresh, the chicken was grilled and tasty and the dressing was good. My friend ordered the eggplant Parmesan crepe, which looked fabulous. Foolish Craig's is known for their crepes, so if you're up for it I'd suggest ordering one. read more

In my few weeks living in Colorado, I've been to Craig's twice. For starters, the waitstaff is great-- last time I was there, I had my puppy with me. They made sure I got a table outside where my pups was welcome, and we only had to wait about 5 minutes during the weekend lunch rush. If you sit outside, the people watching is great-- I enjoyed just hanging out on Craig's patio while waiting for my food. The food is good-- I especially enjoyed my breakfast omelette chock full of fresh veggies. But let's be real-- if you're going to Craig's, it's all about the nutella crepe. Gooey. Oozey. Chocolately. Warm. Love on a plate. And I'm not even a huge fan of nutella-- on my two separate visits, I went with two different nutella aficianados, and they were both in Nutella Nirvana. So enjoy your food-- but save room for dessert! read more
